Going in I knew I needed extensive work done and they put me at total ease and worked a lot with me not only to afford what I need done but with putting me at ease. Negative experience: Kelly was super nice and helpful and calming. The hygienist and dentist were not as helpful. I went in for emergency tooth pain, but was led to the front desk with thousands of dollars of things they wanted to fix. Yes I knew I had other issues, but the pain in the one tooth was awful. They would not schedule me any appointment until I could pay for a portion of the thousands they wanted to do. I eventually said I need to talk to my husband and left feeling very overwhelmed, annoyed, disappointed, and frustrated. I feel like they only wanted my money. So no thank you on going back to them. Got my second opinion today. Aspen wanted to pull 3 teeth and fit me for a partial denture. No talk of any teeth being pulled at the new dentist today. Do not trust this place!

Negative experience: They cancelled my appt without telling me. I showed up and waited 20 min before being helped so I went to tell them what’s going on and she said my appt was cancelled. You wasted my time so you lost a customer. you can be nice to my face— but that does not hide the disrespect of your actions

Negative experience: Didn't have a good experience. Didn't receive what I ask for. I'm very upset and the Dr. I had my consultation doesn't work there anymore, anyway he probably will lie too afterwards. Nobody care about you. They only looking for money to rip you off in the end. I lost my money with the implant that I ask for and didn't get it. And now they want me to pay more more to received what I already paid for. I just alert ⚠️ people recorded your consultation.

Negative experience: My wife was seen and they recommended a wisdom tooth surgery. They sent us an estimate with the cost of the surgery (>$2000) after insurance. I called the insurance company who stated that this high of a number was incorrect, and recommended that I ask for a pre-determination to be submitted. Unfortunately, I can never get anyone on the phone. When I have managed to do so, they hear my request but do not submit the paperwork. I have left messages and never received a call back despite the automated message that they will “return my call in 1-2 business days.” I have emailed the back office staff. They do not reply. It has been 6 months and my wife is still unable to even be scheduled for her wisdom tooth removal. If you can, I strongly recommend going somewhere else for dental care.

Positive experience: Despite a frustrating visit due to insurance issues and things not going as planned, Jenni, Samantha, and Dr. Hassan all still exceeded the most phenomenal of “the expectations”. Jenni was incredibly personable, managing to soothe any nerves possible. She made you laugh and smile even while taking the uncomfy scans lol. She was quick and skilled, and it’s easy to see she’s probably a patient favorite (at least ours). Samantha is possibly the most efficient and genuinely pleasant office manager of any kind I’ve ever met. She answered any and all questions with no hesitation or frustration- she even spoke to my mom on the phone when I wasn’t understanding things. She gave space for questions and concerns without judgement and let you voice anything you needed to. Dr. Hassan walked in with a smile from the start. It’s easy to be “uneasy” around the doctor, but he was so friendly that it felt completely natural. Brandon (I believe?) at the front desk even remembered us despite only being there one time before! An honestly refreshing and pleasant greeting that you don’t often see going into a medical establishment. (Only reason it got 4 stars is because my insurance wasn’t cooperating with their system, but the staff gets 5 stars 10/10 every day).

Negative experience: I used Aspen Dental in Rochester, MN. I went in for pain in my jaw and needed an X-ray to show an infection and a prescription for antibiotics. I would be leaving the next day for a week in another state, then flying home to another state. Aspen took X-rays of my whole mouth and then stated they would send them to my dentist. It took over a week and several phone calls from my dentist and myself to get that accomplished before my appointment with my dentist. Very annoying.

Negative experience: First consultation was great. Then went a year with multiple calls, and multiple voicemails left and never a call back. Finally went back in to schedule an appointment day of appointment came. I checked in then sat for 45 minutes with no communication before I chose to leave. I will NEVER go back!

Negative experience: Needed exam and any work before surgery. When I scheduled they canceled because there weren't any appointments for the time I was scheduled, but I was able to schedule the next day for the same time. I had my exam and was told they were going to reach out with an estimate by email the next day, but I never received it. Surgery is tomorrow. Terrible service, no follow through except to get repeated emails to review my experience, so they have the correct email, I am not chasing them down.

Negative experience: Horrible experience at Aspen Dental in Rochester. They damaged my tooth while prepping for a crown, and because of their mistake, I ended up needing a root canal — something that could’ve been avoided with proper care. To make things worse, they refused to refund me for part of the treatment I no longer wanted, and they charged me extra, even though we had already agreed on a payment plan. Total bait-and-switch behavior. The waiting time is always over 45 minutes, and when the dentist finally shows up, they barely spend any time with you — just rushing around from one patient to the next like you’re just a number. If you care about your health, your time, and your money, stay far away from Aspen Dental. They are disorganized, careless, and only seem interested in pushing expensive treatments you don’t need.

Negative experience: They made stuff up about my gums and tried to make me get this random cleaning procedure done in the most expensive way possible (I went and got a second opinion somewhere else). I went for a simple cleaning and x-ray exams and they tried to get me to pay 1900$ (after insurance) for multiple procedures. Corporate people trying to run up their pockets. Do not recommend

Positive experience: While the staff is excellent and the facility is good, I'm very disappointed in scheduling conflicts that seem like they could easily be resolved with better attention. It seems like the staff is expected to schedule folks based doctor staffing and doctors preference, one cancellation because no doc was available, after all, and one asked last minute if I could come in 30 minutes early for an appointment, however, patients experience an extra wait on each day scheduled. Usually I don't say anything. My original review was 5 stars, but now that all the scheduled work so far has been done, I'm reconsidering further treatment and recommendations for family until I've called around. This is ONLY because of scheduling difficulties that seem easy to prevent. Certainly upset by the wait, but today, being told by one person there was an emergency with another person saying it was that plus chair malfunctioning, I am confused. How long does a patient have to wait? I wasn't taken to my appointment today until 42 minutes past it, and then switched to another room, because they weren't actually using it, but trying to keep me there, having said that I was going leave 2 minutes earlier. Overall I was close to 1 hour past my appointment time before I was in a correct room and the doctor came in. Having said that I really like the doctor, and all the other people who tend to patients and the experience. I have a lot of anxiety with dental procedures, and they handle it well!! I believe it is either a problem with the scheduling or something else going wrong. Every single appointment except for one I have sat and waited while I was in the exam room or in lobby prior to, for what seems a tad excessive. I didn't say anything the 1st time, but it's clear that it wasn't a one off day. I adore the staff, especially Dr Shawn.

Negative experience: I called to ask a simple question about sedation. I've been here before so I know their process. On the call: I asked the woman to answer a question: Are there any available options for anesthesia and sedation at the office? I explained that I have been there before and I don't want to set up an appointment just yet until I know that their office can fulfill my requirements. She replied yes but doesn't elaborate saying that they do have specialists but I have to come in for a consultation so they can tell me what is needed. I then again explain to her that I do not wish to set an appointment just for them to tell me what I already know I needed, while charging me in the process for the X-ray. (The x-ray from my last visit was $200 and the price of the checkup wasn't fully covered by other means. I paid them last time for paperwork essentially because I went elsewhere to get the work done.) I know what I need for my dental procedure and I know I don't need an appointment to have that be said to me again while I pay for it. I went to ask if there was someone else I could speak with and was quickly rushed to the billing section because I also wanted to see if I owed them anything. I was going to pay then and there if I owed anything. Nothing resolved. If I didn't know any better, I would have a pointless appointment, no help, and a bill to pay. The office may be great but that call could have been smoother. I called another dentist office and was directed to exactly what I called here for quickly and efficiently.

Negative experience: Subject: Outrageous Experience at Aspen Dental I am writing to express my total and complete outrage following my recent visit to Aspen Dental for a routine cleaning. I went in expecting a standard appointment, but instead, I was presented with a shocking $4,000 bill for services I never anticipated or agreed to. This experience has left me feeling misled and frustrated. A routine cleaning should not come with such an exorbitant price tag, and I feel that the lack of transparency regarding costs is unacceptable. I expected to receive clear information about any potential charges before undergoing treatment, but that was not the case. I urge Aspen Dental to reevaluate their billing practices and ensure that patients are fully informed about costs upfront. No one should have to face such a staggering bill without prior knowledge or consent. I will be sharing my experience with others to raise awareness about this issue.

Negative experience: Do not recommend! went there and was told i have cavities and need to get it done asap. I went to another dentist that did xrays and said i dont have any cavities at all and that Aspen is known for doing that to their patients to charge them more. Not only that, but i received a bill from them 2 years later since i went for a cleaning that went through insurance. Very unprofessional and highly incompetent staff that don't know how to value and care for their patients!

Negative experience: I normally don’t leave reviews but I feel like it’s worth sharing my experience if it helps someone. I do think a majority of the staff are nice I have never had an issue where one wasn’t, most of them are lovely. I also appreciate how fast I can get into appointments for my needs (obviously because it’s a chain but still a pro) However, I feel the cons outweigh the pros for multiple reasons. First, people saying that they will schedule an appointment for a certain time, then finding out it was switched to a different time is true. I have had three separate appointments get randomly switched to a different time and I wouldn’t find out until I get the confirmation email a day or two before. I would make my appointment around my work schedule, then would have to change my whole work day around to be able to make it to the new time. Next, right off the bat they told me I needed a crown (on a tooth with no pain but of course there can still be a cavity) and one of apparently like 8 cavities filled. I trusted them of course and had to go on Carecredit just to be able to pay off the $1600 bill. Since that crown and filling were done on the same day, I have had sensitivity to chewing and temperature to both the crown and the filled cavity and have gone in four separate times to try to fix this. Now, they ground the crown down and put me on antibiotics the first time which helped, but didn’t solve the issue. It kept getting almost ignored because the crown and cavity “looked good”. So they would tell me “I think you just need a root canal”. They tried to schedule it fast for a few days out because my insurance was ending and told me “insurance will cover the whole thing” which I knew wasn’t true because I was almost at my limit for this insurance. It honestly got really frustrating because maybe I do need a root canal sure, but it partly just feels like a money grab like I already took out so much money for this crown for apparently nothing? Just for them to want to do a root canal anyway? I am getting new insurance and am going to be switching dentists to get a second opinion, because I typically don’t really feel heard when I go to this dentist and feel like I have to come across as a “Karen” in order to really get what I need, which sometimes still wouldn’t happen and I’d give up and cry in my car lol.

Negative experience: Went to Aspen Dental in February to have a tooth looked at. While there, they said, by the way, you have a teeth cleaning due covered by insurance 100%” so I scheduled it in March. Got my teeth cleaning done, and they sent me on my merry way. Now I get a bill because insurance says it wasn’t due yet. Called Aspen Dental and they “are sorry” I should take it up with my insurance. Beware of this place and double check when they say you’re covered by insurance.

Negative experience: I went in for a toothache and before I knew it I spent $6 grand on a ‘dental plan’ and left with a toothache and a script for some pain meds. I only went there because they advertise ‘Emergency Dental Care’ on the weekends which is what I needed. They have quite a sales spiel. Not sure about these folks.

Fantastic experience: Saw them today Saturday for dental pain. Full comprehensive worked with my insurance. All staff were great ! I didn’t wait long at all! They were very upfront honest and gave me options of my treatment plan! 5 stars seriously!

Negative experience: horrible experience wouldn’t recommend they change and change and change your appointment even when you reschedule they don’t respect your time at all and they move your appointment just to move someone before you even if you’ve had it scheduled for weeks and months. There are horrible at times and scheduling. they have only one dentist to do anything so if you expecting to get in soon you have to wait months!!

Negative experience: Reading the most recent reviews I can see Aspen dental hasn’t changed much since my awful experience back in 2016. I went in for a routine cleaning and was convinced by the dentist on site that my upper teeth needed to be pulled due to gum deterioration. I felt bullied into believing that they could make me a beautiful denture in 3 days, well, they lied, and 1500 dollars later they not only ruined my Christmas but my smile. The denture was awful. Long story short, I got my money back but should have sued, later finding from another good dentist looking at my xrays that my teeth never had to be removed. Do not go to this place, please!!!!

The staff was great but the 60% upfront deposit left a lot to be desired and because of that policy alone, I will not be returning.

Positive experience: Generally nice and professional. However, the last time I visited for a routine cleaning, they had me complete an X-ray outside of the parameters covered by my insurance with no clear clinical indication. I received a surprise $91 bill after the visit. While they were responsive when I asked them to please not do this again, the whole situation left me a little hesitant to trust them in the future.

Negative experience: Worst people ever. Can't keep an appointment straight. Poor communication. stay away from these terrible people. No compassion. The receptionists have zero empathy. Just rude. After my experience, I need to find a better place. The dentists are great, too sad that the reception desk is incompetent and rude. Do yourself a favor and avoid these people like the plague. The moment we walked in we were met with unfriendliness so I reciprocate. Zero stars. I am finding a new dentist asap.

Positive experience: I have been visiting Aspen Dental for about 2-3 years for routine dental cleanings and check-ups since I bought a home nearby. The clinic looks new and the staff are friendly. However, during my recent visit, I noticed that it has become very difficult to get phone calls answered. I called five times, and most of the time, the call was disconnected after a long wait with a message saying they were unable to answer. This is a local clinic, so I am not sure why it is so hard to get through. Only once did they answer and I was glad they managed to get me in for a same-day appointment. However, the cleaning and check-up were very brief, making me wonder if they were rushing me out or if my teeth are just in excellent condition. The most frustrating part came after the visit. I needed an itemized receipt to file an expense report. They promised to email it to me, but I never received it. After a week, I tried emailing and calling them again, but it is strange that in modern times, it is so hard to contact a local clinic. Maybe they are short on staff. I initially chose this clinic for its convenience, but it has become so inconvenient that I will be switching to a different dental clinic next time. Now, for this receipt, I will have to stop by physically again to get a printed copy I guess.
