Positive experience: Went for a cleaning and specifically told hygienist to only do what was covered by insurance. When finished, she tells me the only thing not covered by insurance was the antibacterial rinse, which she had already done. She stated “we do that for everyone “. So I ended up being charged $35 for basically a mouthwash rinse that I didn’t ask for and specifically asked that I not be charged for. I was charged for this same rinse on my last cleaning and was told it was necessary before Dr did his exam, but I had no exam on this visit. Otherwise cleaning was fine.

Fantastic experience: As a new patient at Driftwood Dental, I had a really great experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was professional, welcoming, and attentive. The environment felt friendly and comfortable, which made the visit even better. The dental hygienist Yomana was especially wonderful—very kind, gentle, and professional. She made me feel at ease throughout the entire cleaning and took great care in making sure I was comfortable. Doctor Pena personally came to check on me and took the time to clearly explain what I needed. I truly appreciated the care and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend Driftwood Dental to anyone looking for a trustworthy and pleasant dental experience.

Negative experience: To say I’m disappointed is putting it lightly. In network Dr. Rendon has retired. No notice to patients given. At my follow up cleaning appointment a new dentist strolled in. Very kind man BUT he was out of network. Since May I’m still trying to get them to fix the billing. I’m not to be responsible for an out of network appointment when provided zero notice about it. Was told it would be handled. Now 3.5 weeks later I receive an email bill of the exact same value. Dental insurance confirmed nothing sent to them and in fact, this is a charge I’m responsible for. Even though driftwood was unaware he was out of network, too. So, please fix my bill and I’ll happily fix this review. Losing a patient over this type of transition was unnecessary and should have been done in a proactive manner and never should a dentist have been sent to your practice being out of network without your knowledge. I can’t imagine how many patients are stuck in this boat right now

Fantastic experience: I have been having trouble with my wisdom teeth since my early 20’s. I have visited many dentist not one would touch them. I kept getting sore throats and gum infections. I am 60 years old now. I just started seeing Dr Rendon. His office did two deep gum cleanings. After the second visit he asked if I wanted my wisdom teeth out. I was reluctant, he assured me I would have minimal pain. I was scared because all the other dentist said my case would be very painful and intense. Dr Rendon and I talked about the benefits and a few days later he removed them. I arrived at the office at 9am, he numbed me at 915. At 950 I walked out of the office and drove home. I had minimal pain and bleeding. I ate a normal lunch at noon and the rest is history. One week later I’m back to normal. Trust Dr Rendon he’s a straight shooter. I recommend him highly.

His Dental Assistants are knowledgeable, kind, and productive. Dr. Rendon is not only on top of his game but well aware of the modern practices, and procedures available to the public. Dr. Nicholas Rendon leaves his patients with the brightest, healthiest teeth. The dental implants he puts in are beautifully in place considering the terrible conditions I have let my gums, and teeth go to because of always being afraid of dental work. Dr. Rendon is #1 in his field I must say.

Fantastic experience: We are delighted to have Dr Rendon as our Vero Beach dentist. I truly believe there is nothing he cannot do. His staff is amazing and all so very helpful. We are 8+month, so not true snow birds. but residence in Vero. We would highly recommend Dr Rendon, he is terrific.

Negative experience: So I originally went there in 2023 to get some fillings done. I got the work done The dentist was great. I was trying to use up my 2023 benefit and then go back in January for more work.per the offices suggestion so I got a lot of work done at once. I get a call from the office staff that they don’t take my plan because it was an HMO plan when I tried to go back in January. They said they can not do anymore fillings for me until I have new insurance. Ok fine I get new Insurance that they do take. 7 months later I get a 445 dollar bill in the mail when I called the office to ask about it the manager of the office happened to answer the phone. She was incredibly rude to me. I told her that no one had told me that they dont take my plan when I was first in there no one had mentioned anything before I got the dental work done. I explained to the manager that I could not have known that they didn’t take my plan as they didn’t tell me before I went back. She told me multiple times on the phone I should have known that they don’t take my plan.she said that I should know that they don’t take HMO plans in general. I asked her how would I know that you don’t take my plan if no body told me. How would I know you don’t take HMO plans in general if it was never mentioned. I even emailed them a copy of my card before I went back there. Nothing was said to me. The manager said if you think I’m going to discount this I’m not going to do it. The manager was unhelpful, escalated a situation that obviously was the result of an error on the offices end and refused to look into it. I don’t think it’s right to make me pay out of pocket for all this dental work when I wasn’t told prior that they didn’t take my insurance. If I knew they didn’t take my plan I wouldn’t have had the services done.

Negative experience: The worst dentist's office I've ever been to. Stabbed my gums all over the place to excess, then tried to tell me I needed a deep clean. My dentist before and after never mentioned such a thing and tell me my teeth look great. Steer clear.

Positive experience: Sadly, the bad reviews you read online about the billing department in Dr. Rendon's office have been confirmed. Prior to a deep cleaning treatment, I was presented with an estimate using the supposed contracted rate with my insurance company. When the claim was processed, the numbers did not match the office manager's, who blamed my insurance for downgrading the treatment. Now they expect me to pay for the difference. In addition, nobody picks up the phone and nobody listens to voice mail messages. A letter was sent by my insurance company in an attempt to help resolve any confusion, but it was also ignored. BEWARE if you have insurance! I will update this review once my claim is fully investigated. September 2023 Update: It was unfortunate that it took me almost 6 months to have my claims carefully reviewed and updated. The good news is that I was issued a refund. I have changed my review to a three star based on the fact that Dr. Rendon is a highly regarded dentist in town and on the fact that the Regional Manager from the Tampa office intervened and helped. However, if you have insurance, I would highly recommend you call them to verify your coverage by giving them the codes used on the treatment plan. Make sure to check the contract rates are correct. Only then, sign it.

Negative experience: Received a root canal from Dr. Rendon. He then caped it with a new crown. With growing pain, I went to an Endodontist who discovered one root was not cleaned and filled all the way, there was a cotton ball left under the crown and it was filled with a temporary filling. Careless and poor workmanship!! No response from the Dr. when I asked for the Endodontist bill reimbursement.

Positive experience: Great dentist but awful billing department! The woman I talked to was incredibly rude and hung up on me three times!!!! The office billed an insurance policy that has not been active for almost 4 years and cannot prove me with an accurate fee for services rendered. I am only giving them 3 stars because the office staff is awful but Dr. Rendon is amazing! Such a shame bad office staff ruins the entire experience.

Because of my hygienist's excellent care and advise, this periodic visit is simply routine as my gums and teeth are in very good condition. Dr. Rendon comes in to perform a dental exam. He found a questionable place on my gums that he wants a biopsy for precaution - great care!

He is careful to not cause his patients more pain than necessary, and he will do whatever possible to help wwwease the pain there is. I have had 16 of my teeth extracted and 2 root canals, all by Dr. Rendon, so I have a lot of experience with him as a dentist. His staff is always very courteous and caring. When I go there, I am treated like I am among friends. The entire atmosphere in the office makes it not so scary to be at the dentist, and I appreciate that.

Negative experience: After losing my front teeth veneers installed by this dentist at least 4 times, I lose a veneer a 5th time today and when I call the dental office, I am told by their rather rude receptionist (Karen) that the dentist is absent for the next 2 weeks and that there is no reference to another dentist in town and I should therefore go on line to find a replacement dentist (??l) In addition to having 6 unreliable veneers in mouth, I am subjected to rude and unprofessional behavior. After having been a client for many years and having paid substantial money's to this dentist, today's experience is disappointing to say the least.

I had to wait about two month for the appointment but it was totally worth the waiting. Great staff, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. From the office management team (special thanks to Karen!) to Dr. Rendon. In just one visit I had everything done, X-rays, revision and cleaning, all completed fast and with undeniable quality. Zero waiting time. The dental hygienist (Debbie?) did a great job. I am very happy with my choice and results. They deserve all positive reviews patient have left in multiple sites. My only regret: not having visited Dr. Rendon office before. I will definitely recommend them!
