Fantastic experience: My dad has spoken highly of Dr hawk and his team for years and when it was time for me to get a cleaning he made me an appointment there. For background i have a lot of dental trauma and usually have a breakdown during treatment, so I prefaced this with the hygienist. They took X-rays and did a cleaning so fast I was in and out within an hour. They were so kind as I have TMJ so they gave me breaks, went quickly and always checked in with me. I am so grateful for the compassionate care and made it out without any issues much to my and my fathers shock and joy. Thank you team and Dr hawk for being so kind and patient! I will be back!

My hygienist, Flor, was exceptional, pleasant, cheerful, and highly professional, making the entire experience enjoyable and putting me completely at ease. I also really appreciate that Dr. J.B. Hawk personally attends to each patient; he is gentle, soft-spoken, and takes the time to clearly explain everything, reflecting the practice’s commitment to outstanding care. My daughter is also a patient and shares the same positive experience. It’s rare to find a dental office where every interaction feels so positive and patient focused. Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE! Worst decision ever was to patronize this office for my child’s orthodontist work. Horrible work was done, my kid totally hates crooked teeth and smile. I’ve had to find another ortho to do it all over again.

Today, I had my cleaning with Vicky, who was incredibly gentle and made me feel safe. What makes this office unique is the sense of belonging and care they provide. As a patient, I genuinely feel that the staff cares about my dental health. In my opinion, this is what sets this office apart from the rest.

Negative experience: I’ve been a patient here for years. I used to love it because it everyone was so sweet. However, after Covid, I noticed a negative vibe from the receptionists. Recently, I was having issues with insurance. We called the office and the lady on the phone seemed irritated to help and said it was too much work to check the plan, like that is literally your job. I could hear her suck her teeth like don’t work in costumer service if u don’t want to help. — The hygienists and orthodontist are sweet, I’ll give them that!! —

Fantastic experience: I can go on forever about this office. I’ve been seeing Dr. Hawk since I was 7 years old and he’s been the most amazing dentist ever. Recently a family member of mine was suffering for days with tooth pain (turns out she needed a root canal) and she couldn’t get in anywhere, even at her own dentist. I recommend her to this office and Dr.Aton took her in right away and was able to do the procedure right away for her! She is still recovering now but she was so thankful for Dr. Aton and all the technicians that stayed late to help her get this procedure done at the last minute. Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience. Normally, I hate Going to the dentist. I hate the Novocain shots, and the sound of the drill! Dr. Hawk had a new laser technology that doesn’t require any shots! My experience was amazing. Really there was no pain. Dr. Hawk explained every step and I had no anxiety. They know very well how to take care of their patients and especially kids that are afraid of the dentist (haha that was me back then) Dr.Hawk is a very nice guy and always makes u feel comfortable and same with the workers that work at that place, majority of them are very welcoming I used to be one of those kids that didn’t like smiling cause of my teeth, now I feel more than confident to smile everyday Thanks to MARYLAND DENTAL CARE!! They try to help the community and make sure that it's affordable for everyone to have the perfect smell. I even bring my clients that I work with to them.

Negative experience: Please read before deciding: Update: 2023 The bonding done of my teeth has a gap which has led to me getting a cavity (on top of looking egregious) and now I need it taken off and replaced (which is expensive). I would like to note Dr.Hawk had done cosmetic bonding on my teeth, from 16 to around 21 yrs old without explaining that is was a purely cosmetic reason (meaning I didn’t actually need it and not getting it done is was an option), I was a minor when it started and my parents were not notified, and the risks (like getting it removed without needing veneers or bonding done again) was not explained. None of that was done and now I can’t have just my normal teeth and have to pay for a cavity that is not due to my own negligence. Genuinely, do not go here Original: I had been going to Dr.Hawks office since the 7th grade. I had braces for 7ish years. I got my braces off sophomore year in high school and continued to get cosmetic bonding till my first semester senior year of COLLEGE until my dental insurance ended. In those years my appointments would be 3-4 months apart. And at cosmetic bonding stage I had at some point 5 consecutive appointments cancelled on their end. The cosmetic bonding done would be misshapen and would break often depite making sure to not eat hard foods, gum, etc. when i had come back from a trip overseas I had a GAPING cavity that he chose to ignore to just focus on the bonding (it was very noticeable) until I pointed it out during my appointment and then got it fixed by another dentist in the office. Consequently this also meant I wasnt getting my necessary yearly dental cleanings. When doing the bonding, since my teeth would be different, my retainer wouldnt fit but he assured me that it wouldnt be a problem (it was). And now the bonding is so discolored for whatever reason (i dont drink coffee, tea, or eat many foods that stain) and feel like I was used as a practice test. When I asked about why it was doing that he just said he didnt know . i also live abt 30 min from this place and would have to drive there, sometimes my appts being cancelled at the last minute. The wait times at the office at one point took almost an hour while I sat in the chair waiting for him even though I had classes later in the day. Dr.Hawk didnt really explain much and was always in a hurry so i couldnt express my discontent with my teeth more than once. The nurses and assistants there were nice but I wouldn’t recommend coming here. My siblings have gone to another ortho, gotten their braces off in two years (teeth just the same or a little worse than when I had gotten them). So there is definitely better. Dr.Hawk is very friendly and all his care is not bad, but it definitely dwindled drastically and I am bearing the consequences of the neglect.

When their old complex was shut down to make way for the Twinbrook Quarter, they ensured that their new location was right across the street as to not inconvenience anyone. Dr. Hawk is very skilled and gentle. The hygenists are patient and thorough with the cleaning. The office is pleasant and modern with TV screens in all the treatment rooms. I went in for a regular cleaning today and they found a small cavity which they filled on the spot so I wouldn't have to come in again. I highly recommend this office!
