Fantastic experience: After my wife experienced the wonderful care and process Dr. Lee and his team at Smiles Made Beautiful Orthodontics provided her I knew that I wanted to have my opportunity to improve my smile through their care. Dr. Lee's team treated my wife and me like family of their own...every step of the way and at every visit. The expertise and professionalism they provided from establishing very comfortable financial arrangements, to scheduling, consultations, scans, fittings, and finally progressive follow-up visits was a masterclass in orthodontic and patient care. We feel that we are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Lee and his team to have helped us. While we are in our 60s with now our smiles made beautiful, our 5 grandchildren are just a few years from their orthodontic evaluation and treatment, if needed. We will be bringing each of them to see Dr. Lee and his team! Five stars to Dr. Lee and the Smiles Made Beautiful team! I wish I could give them 100 stars!

Negative experience: Edwin Lee pulled down a tooth that should not have been pulled down then suggested filing it on both sides to reduce gum gap. This led to all kinds of problems with a cavity and lifelong problems with my bite. He rushed through the eval and I paid the price. He should have just pushed the tooth back up. He should have reviewed the xray first before pulling it down.

Fantastic experience: They have made a solid professional advice that helped my son to straighten his teeth with retainers without putting braces second time.

My son had a serious bite issue and over 2 years he can now have a bite on a tough piece of steak :). Fantastic experience: We had an amazing initial appointment. My kiddo was nervous walking in but as soon as he saw the Pac-man game in the lobby all nervousness disappeared. And then we got to meet Brandy who is just a treasure. She was so kind, patient, and friendly. She walked my kiddo through all the steps, explained things in a very developmentally appropriate way, and made the appointment fun. As we were leaving the appointment (after discussing putting a lot of metal in my child’s mouth) he was begging to come back here every single day. Brandy walked us through the proposed plan with details on costs and payment options. There was never an ounce of pressure which I truly appreciate. 10/10 experience.

Fantastic experience: My 9 year daugher left her 1st consultation appointment saying she liked Brandy and Dr. Lee. This was a plus as she normally does not comment at all. During the appointment both were great with her.

Negative experience: We went there because of the previous ownership but the new doctor and his team are very unprofessional. They simply don’t care about anything but money. There are so many options in the area. Do some research before you decide to walk into their office.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lee is amazing. My son was getting a new tooth in during treatment. The tooth came in suddenly and not expected and it was affecting his treatment of the existing teeth. His office was able to make a convenient time to meet within days of being called. They also took amazingly steps to ensure he was able to have his treatment adjusted immediately. Dr Lee is simply amazing and his expertise and caring are well worth the cost.

Fantastic experience: They were very thorough in their explanations, included print out with pictures, but didn't make it seem like we were limited in choice. Allowed my daughter to ask questions and really look at the pictures. Highly recommend! 10/10

Fantastic experience: I don’t normally write reviews but I was recommend this office by my orthodontist for adult braces. They have been taking such good care of me so far. All the staff are really nice. Bernie was the sweetest while putting on my braces and walked me through the whole process thoroughly. I even received a card and phone call from her after my appointment to check on how I am doing. This is an office that cares. Thank you guys!

Negative experience: this place whenever you run into problem, such as bracket broken off and wire is broken they wont take care of it right away, but wait for next appt. , my child brace metal wire is broken and one bracket is completely off, when i called their office Thursday when my child coming home, they pretty much said Dr not working, this is not dental emergency because my child not experience bleeding or wire not poking him yet, and i kept begging them have Dr to have wire and bracket fixed before we leaving vacation for 12 days, they purely said you can wait for next appointment in April 21st or walk us through the phone taking the bracket off, which I already told them bracket completely off, wire not on that tooth anymore. I asked them who will pay the emergency dental bill when my child experience problem when we travel, they finally said coming tomorrow morning, we'll have one assistant taking off the bracket, which is already off. So find somewhere better!

I did a few consultations and ended up choosing SMB for my treatment which included 2 years of traditional metal braces. Scheduling appointments, even last minute ones for broken brackets or other issues, was always easy. The entire staff is extremely wonderful to work with (shout-out to Bernie!), and Dr. Lee is very attentive and addressed all my concerns and questions.

Fantastic experience: The Rockville office was referred by our pediatric dentist in the area and I have two daughters go through there for braces- it has probably been about 6 years and we moved two counties away and still go in every 6-8 weeks for Orthodontist care. There is a reason Burke & Flinn comes so highly recommended, the entire staff is and has been very special! With the two girls and our regular visit, all three of us feel like we are part of their family. Dr. Burke (now retired) has always been respectful and fun (wore cool socks)- a straight talker with so much knowledge and experience! Dr. Wanda Flinn- beautiful and talented, my girls admired her for her gentle touch and feminine energy... and we all could not wait to see what she was wearing (specifically her heels). Many times her smile and demeanor was the envy of my girls... she will desperately be missed. Now, Dr. Lee takes over the practice and you know he is powerful but he is such a humble man. Focused and kind, knowledgeable and obviously loves what he does! Lastly, there is an amazing staff backing him. Brandy, Lauren, and Vickie to name a few. Both girls feel a connection to their technician but as a mom, I notice the office has a groove and they help me stay organized with emails, school notes, and the points/wheel. The kids LOVE going to this office! Keep up the great work, Smiles Made Beautiful!

No one else could have done so much in such a fantastic way. During the pandemic, Dr. Burke would be willing to even call and Facetime to assist with the process and any questions. Dr. Burke was extraordinary and Dr. Lee is so great and capable as well!

SMB Orthodontics is an organization that maintains a phenomenal record of a 100% success rate on everything every time! Dr. Burk (please enjoy your well-deserved retirement, Good Sir), and more recently, Dr. Lee, were wonderfully competent, professional, kind, and responsive. The medical staff, especially Dhayanna, were great and always went out of their way to make sure that our daughter was comfortable and taken good care of. The front desk staff were awesome and always a pleasure to work with, for instance, every single appointment was immediately followed with an emailed calendar invite and text reminders. To summarize, SMB Orthodontics is the platinum standard.

Positive experience: Organized, clean and highly qualified Orthodontists

Positive experience: The staff are super friendly and helpful and were lovely to work with. I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the overall result of my orthodontics. I think more frequent checks to adjust issues like my loose teeth would have been helpful. We also had and initial plan of about 18 months, it was revised and I was done in 11 but I'm not very happy with the current bite. The front teeth are nice and straight now but the back teeth still dont fit together nicely and the solution seems to be just shave some off the top of the tooth which doesn't feel quite right.

Negative experience: Conflicted, although the braces did help tremendously with my jaw, the treatment ended up with me having a deep bite. I felt that my treatment at the time nearing the end was quite rushed and abrupt. I knew something was still off about my bite, but they seemed to disregard my concerns. Two years later I went to another orthodontist and he told me I had a deep bite. Which is unfortunate considering the amount of money that was spent on the treatment. Overall the staff were nice, though the orthodontists themselves were iffy. I wish my concerns were taken more seriously at the time, now I have to spend more money to fix my bite alignment so there won’t be as much wear and tear on my teeth. Such a shame.
