Fantastic experience: (I don’t really want to leave a review because I’m trying to gatekeep my dentist who is already hard to get in with.) But: coming from someone who’s had a lot of dental work and “not loved” no fewer than 15 dentists—it says a lot that I’m still coming back years later. I’ve been to 3 of their offices and the Mandeville location is my favorite. If you’ve previously had bad experiences in dental care, Dr. McInnis is your guy. I trust him to do what’s necessary & nothing more. The work he does is efficient and as painless as I’ve ever experienced.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful, caring & professional service that is less than your fancy dental office. I was told I needed a root canal & crown by the dentist who took over my former dentist who retired. He was not in the network for my dental insurance. Went to Affordable Smiles & got an alternative opinion & treatment which saved me $1000. They don’t have the overhead of paying for a fancy office which means the savings go to the patient. Their office is simple & pretty. They are now my dental office! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I got a deep cleaning today and one of the main reasons for me procrastinating going to the dentist is because of how afraid I am of being judged. Tysha did everything with me today and she was so sweet and patient with me. There was no judgement and there was only words of encouragement. Laurel was assisting her and she was beyond sweet as well. Definitely recommend going here for any of your dental needs!

I originally went to the Hammond office and I will never go back. Hammond is so rude and act like you are the problem.

They kept everything moving like a choreographed dance. I was so impressed at how the entire experience ran so smoothly. It’s a great feeling when you can go to a doctor and leave stress free!

He provided me with several treatment plan options, explained everything clearly, and never pressured me to choose one over the other. He also listened carefully to my concerns, which really inspired confidence in him and his entire team. I also want to recognize Summer, the office manager, along with Nicole and Currin — they were all fantastic. The office itself is spotless, and while I’ll probably never love going to the dentist, coming here has gone a long way toward easing my fears. Thank you to the whole team at Affordable Smiles!

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning, no hygienist was present. Was there 1.5 hours doing X-rays and left with no cleaning and no way to schedule without doing extra things not covered by insurance.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible came in for a tooth extraction left with a “plan on how to fix every other tooth, but the ones I needed help with cause they were causing immense pain.” Glad I left still in pain but I’m glad they got dates and a plan to make money off me, worst experience I have yet to have going anywhere doctor related. being told “we’re gonna get those teeth that are bothering you out” and being handed a bundle of 7 pages of “Your next Visits” and a grand total of 5600$ when all I came in for was for a tooth/ 2 teeth extraction

Positive experience: I had an appt. for some periodontal work.i mistakenly thought my appt. was a half an hour later than it was. Right away the receptionist informed me that i was 40 minutes late. It was not said warmly, but more sternly. There was no smile or waiting for me to explain. I apologized. The hygienist was very nice, understanding, and kind. I appreciate her way of handling things. By the way, the work was done in a timely manner and I think I did not make the hygienist run behind schedule. I am aware of the importance of respecting each other’s time constraints. I have not been late before any of my dental appts. I like Dr. Emily very much and I do not think this represents her or her practice.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went to this location in December for a tooth ache due to my old dentist office being brought out by Affordable Smiles. The Mandeville location apparently was the only place they could refer me to that would take my insurance. When I went in for my appointment, I was told I was not on their schedule, nor did they check with my insurance to get my appointment approved. Regardless, they still took me in to be seen for my tooth ache and took one x-ray of the side where my tooth was bothering me. The doctor (Dr. Schenck) took one look at my x-ray and recommended me for a root canal then left the office. Dr. Schenck did not speak to me but only to ask if I was in pain and if I needed pain medication. Her dental assistant was the one to explain the procedure to me. Due to them not getting my insurance approval, I had to wait to call the next week to see what the costs would be for the root canal. Unfortunately, my insurance did not cover most of the cost so I ask the office to give me a referral to LSU Dental School so I could afford the procedure. After two calls, the office and Dr. Schenck refused to write me a referral. Although without their referral, I was still able to be seen by LSU Dental School yesterday, which there they told me I actually did not need a root canal, my tooth and teeth are completely fine and healthy. I even ask for a copy of my medical records to be emailed to me on Monday and still have not received them.

Negative experience: Way too cold, the music that was playing very depressing staff not helpful at all. Sat for 30 mins till I asked what the issue was stated they were having problem verifying insurance. Finally made it to the back. I was there because my plate broke. They took X-rays unsure as to why. Then the young lady with me it seemed every question I asked she did not know the answer. Left went to another dental place. I was in and out within 45 mins with a new plate being fitted and helping me maintain the broken one till the new one was completed.

A good review for For someone I really adore and someone I really feel comfortable around her and she makes me feel comfortable at affordable smiles. Her name is Justice. She's a very bright person. When I first met her at affordable smile , she made me feel welcome ,comfortable And she also keeps me calm. There was a few times that I wanted to switch To Another Office Because of some mistakes that Was quite wrong And I was really upset. I spoke to JUSTICE about the situation and she made sure everything was straight and fixed everything and called me and explain to me. She's the only. One that explains things correctly and In a professional form. JUSTICE makes sure that I understand things she is good at what she does .She's very professional. And she will make sure I have my next appointment scheduled before I leave and I also can see and I observe things.The way she works and do things and that Office.I can see that she loves her job. ✌️ PS. There's only five Stars.I give her 10 .

Negative experience: I just couldn't get anyone to contact me so I could setup an appointment as a New Patient. Didn't get any call backs except once a few months ago for my insurance information that I wasn't able to provide right away. When I called back nobody answered and nobody returned my call. I tried reaching out again today and couldn't get anyone on the phone, unfortunately now I have a cracked/damaged tooth and can't wait around so I made an appointment elsewhere.

Negative experience: Very bad experience. I went in for an office visit. I felt like I was being pressured into having procedures done. I went ahead with their suggested extensive x-rays. I was very uncomfortable with this. I communicated to them what I was interested in having done. They proceeded to communicate with what they wanted to do and there was no other option. I decided then that I would not be coming back to this place and was glad to get out of that office. I had many communications with office staff prior to this visit regarding my insurance coverage. They verified I had coverage. I find out after the visit that they said I did not have coverage. They knew about the non coverage and never called me or notified me about this. Really bad communication. Never in my life (60+) has a doctor's office not communicate about insurance coverage or non insurance coverage. They did not follow up for dental care or on the status of the insurance coverage. I WAS contacted several months later for money. Bad practices here. Went to another dental office and was very comfortable with their dental care. They listen to my preferences and worked with me on the outcome.
