Negative experience: First I will say that during my visit everyone was really friendly and nice but.... First visit took 2 hours just for xrays and exam, no cleaning. I needed some work done and I called the office for weeks trying to get it scheduled and it always went to voicemail. I got a couple calls back but I can't just answer my phone at work and when I would call back I would get their VM again. I decided to go somewhere else so I went into the clinic to get my records since I could never get them on the phone. The receptionist tried to give me my xrays printed out on printer paper. When I said this is not diagnostic I need a digital copy, she kinda looked at me like I was stupid. Update: they didn't even send all of my xrays so I had to pay for a second set at the new office.

Negative experience: Aspen Dental on Garner's Ferry Road, Columbia, South Carolina, is horrible. I had confirmed my mother’s appointment via text on my cell phone. Now, I have an elderly mother who is 81 years old. The lady at the front desk was genuinely nice. I thought I was good since I confirmed via text. Well, the lady at the front desk said Aspen's policy is that you must confirm with a live person by telephone. I can't always answer my phone because I am busy taking care of my mother. Can you believe that, since I didn't speak to a live person over the phone when we arrived early at 10:30 for our 11:00 appointment, the lady at the front desk said my mother’s appointment was cancelled for not confirming over the telephone with a live person. I could not believe it. She told us to have a seat, and maybe the person that they gave my mother’s appointment to will not show up. So, we waited, and the guy they assigned my mother’s appointment to showed up. Does Aspen Dental even care!!! Does anyone know how hard it is to get a dementia patient to an appointment on time? So, I had to leave with my elderly mother. The lady at the front desk said that I could come back to a 2:00 appointment. I told her no thank you. I will never be back, and I will go to the dentist office across the street. If Aspen Dental is doing this to people, that location cannot be performing great. The executives at Aspen Dental need to check how the Garners Ferry Road location in Columbia, South Carolina, is performing, because I would give them an F for what they did to us. This was extremely poor customer service. I will tell all my family and friends never to go to Aspen Dental. Don't go to any location, especially the one on Garners Ferry Road, because they don't care. When I called headquarters to complain, the rep said it was not their policy. If you read this please find another place to go that treat senior citizens well. They will be bankrupt doing these practices. What is the use of sending me a text to confirm when you want to do it the old timey way with a live person over the phone? THIS IS 2026 NOT 1940. Don't send texts period do it the 1940 way. The lady at the front desk stated that they do this to new patients. That they have to confirm with a live person. This company is really crazy. My mother was not a new patient. She came here a few years back and she really didn't like them then when she was in good health. My sister and I decided to try them again to give this company a second chance and because it was close to our home. We are still disappointed.

Negative experience: At my first appointment, they gave me five injections and had me wait for about an hour. When the dentist came back to do the extraction, they didn’t even realize they had forgotten to inject anesthesia in my gums. After the extraction, they told me the machine was broken and they couldn’t do the filling that day, so they had to reschedule me. At the next appointment, I arrived at 10:30 AM. Again, they gave me five injections and then had me wait for 2 hours in exam room, and no one came to see me.

Fantastic experience: Ms Cat was my Dentist today. I was nervous when I got there. She explain it all to me what was taken place. She was very nice and gentle. My experience today was not bad at all. She made very comfortable, and made me smile. Glad I choose Aspen Dental.

They helped me with the financing of what my insurance wouldn't cover, made the process so simple and easy. Fantastic experience: I have gone to the same dentist since I was a child. I just recently moved from the Fort Mill area and was doing research to find a new dentist closer to my new home. I came across Aspens and thought I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did! After getting checked in from the wonderful lady sitting at the desk. I was taken to get X-rays done by Will. Now if you have gone to the dentist you know how uncomfortable those mouth pieces can be, will asked me questions about myself in between repositioning and by the time we were done, I felt so comfortable. He walked me to the back. I ask Al out of questions and he answered every single one and if he was unsure he was honest. Dr. Baker is also fantastic, very patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable willing to answer every and all questions. I had a great time and will definitely be making this my new dental home!

Positive experience: Dr. Baker probably gave me the best anesthesia sticks that I ever had. The procedure itself was awful. I did have some infection prior to the procedure and it was painful as hell. She did give me more anesthesia but it didn’t work. The 3 stars are mostly for the anesthesia and the pain I had. I came off the chair. Overall, I feel she is very qualified. I do believe that no matter how much anesthesia I have, it would not matter. I think I will try general anesthesia.

Negative experience: After being sent here incorrectly by the call center due, we had to deal with a rude office assistant who told us they don’t work with patients my son’s age. She then went on to tell me they called me twice (with an attitude). I told her I returned the call, but no one said anything about his age. I even replayed the voicemail so she could hear for herself. There was no empathy, just attitude.

I’d like to highlight Treshyr, I do believe she was my x-ray technician- whom greeted me at the time of my appointment, she also answered any questions or concerns I might’ve had, made me feel comfortable and briefed me before seeing the hygienist & Doctor. Sometimes going to the dentist can be a little nerve wracking, but I think with more personalities and professionalism like treshyr, you’d be just fine.
