Positive experience: This place is phenomenal because they have friendly staff starting from the receptionist Ms Shana. She was very cordial, friendly with a pleasant personality and smile yet professional. I was very impressed with the dental assistant Ms Briana. She exudes a positive energy in her. I don’t enjoy going for my dental appt and sit on the examining chair. She was very non-threatening, respectful, pleasant and friendly. What I was very impressed with her was, she was very good with her patient teaching. She told me what the other team will be doing when they see me. She showed the instruments the hygienist will use , and what the numbers being called by the hygienist meant. It gave me peace of mind knowing the condition of my teeth and gums are still good. I also was very pleased with the dental hygienist Ms Madison. She was very pleasant and non-judgmental when I was honest to tell her how many times I brushed my teeth and flossed. She motivated me to take care of my teeth without being judgmental but showed genuine concern for my well-being. She was also very good in patient education. I am so impressed also by the dentist who saw me. Dr Knepper was the only dentist I’ve ever encountered who shook my hand when he introduced himself to me. He also was very pleasant, friendly, yet very professional in how he interacted with me and with his staff. I was appreciative of the customer service of Ms Alexia in explaining in details my treatment plan and the costs of each treatment. She was very patient in answering our questions and also offering us alternative payment plan. I decided to stay and use Aspen for my dental care needs since this is my first visit with them. The only thing I didn’t like about this clinic was their radiology rooms didn’t have any curtains to provide privacy when the technician took x-rays of my teeth. Also the dental rooms has no curtains. I saw the patient on the other room. These two negatives were well compensated by the staff who took care of me. Fantastic experience: Great experience at this location. Friendly and knowledgable staff, Dr. Kneppar, the Dentist, explained all treatments in easy to understand language, and even suggested alternatives for my schedule. The Treatment plan scheduler also was kind, informative and able to answer my questions about my insurance coverage. Will definetly recommend to anyone needing a new Dental office!

Negative experience: Completely disappointed, aspen dental is the biggest scam. I’m stuck paying for dentures. I never could use. From the start it didn’t fit. They wanted me to pay more money out of pocket. For there mistake. Do yourself a favor go anywhere else. Aspen will take your money and give you unsatisfactory unprofessional service. They lie from the moment they get you in the door.

Fantastic experience: Best experience I've ever had at a dentist. Everyone was very kind, informative, professional and helpful. Freida was very nice and helpful. Answered all my questions and was very friendly I was suffering from 2 absessed molars at gum level and despite being a walk-in and them being busy with no openings, they found the time to squeeze me in. Words cannot express how grateful I am. I used to hate going to the dentist. These people have changed that. Im not saying I look forward to the dentist lol. But when I have to go, I feel less anxious and stressed. I know I will be well taken care of.

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist in 30 yrs , I was a bad alcoholic, and have resently quit drinking , neglecting my teeth , I chose aspin dental to help me at 54 yrs of age to get back on track, we made a plan on my first visit , after that I came back to get three teeth pulled by DR. Son , he is firm on telling you what a mistake you made in life on taking care of your teeth , that's why I like him so much there ain't no sugar coating it with him , I go back for a cleaning and fillungs this week , so far from my experience I'll never go to another dentist except Aspen dental on Newberry RD !!!!

Fantastic experience: I went to Aspen dental today arriving with fear of seeing a dentist. I have had two very bad experiences. I must say on entry SAAD was amazing! He explained the process from X-rays to the pics and what would happen once the doctor and the DH came into the room. He made the experience so much smoother and my fears wear minimal. I appreciated this so much. The staff is amazing Shantel and Jarron were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I think I have found a permanent dentist provider. Thanks Aspen dental.

Negative experience: Nightmare experience and complete waste of over an hour for my "new patient" appointment. I was told I had periodontal disease and bone loss. Which was odd since I see a dentist every six months and have never been told either of those things. I have dental insurance but my cleanings were going to be $900.00. I walked out. What a SCAM!!!! I feel bad for the people they sucker!

Negative experience: I am a certified medical coder. I have had 6 month dental cleanings my entire life. I just came out of braces. I went for a first time visit and I was told I had periodontal disease. I called my regular dentist who doesn’t take my insurance and I went in for an exam and he said my teeth are perfect. They are committing insurance fraud. Do not go here. Wait a little longer and go see a private practice dentist. I’m reporting them to the state

Negative experience: They have very nice front desk people so I will give them that. When I had gone into Aspen Dental for a checkup due to suspecting a cavity, the dentist had told me my gums had drastically receded and that I had periodontal disease. This led to severe health anxiety for me as I wasn’t sure If I could afford treatment, I managed to pay for the first deep clean but I felt something was wrong. I then went to two separate dentists, one from UF and one from a respected family practice. They had both told me my teeth were perfectly fine, and that my gums were healthy. All I had needed was a regular cleaning. I was in shock at how a healthcare provider could so blatantly lie about a diagnosis, Do not go here if you want accurate and affordable medical care. The deep cleaning they charged me for was 900$ and according two the other dentists I saw, completely unnecessary. They just care about making money from you. Extremely predatory business taking advantage of those with a lower income/ without insurance.

Negative experience: I called to make an appt. I expressed to the man I had a tooth break a few months ago and it had broke past the gun and I needed an appt to get the tooth dealt with because its been hurting the past few day and I can't eat The man found an appt for the next day which was in Gainesville. The location is 1.5 hour drive but I'm fine with that because it's hurting.The man told me it was a complimentary consultation. At that point we would determine what procedure would work best and how much that would cost for the next appointment. That sounded amazing and it was a recorded call. He was pushy trying to set my child up an appt to but I told him this was an emergancy situation I'd have a dentist near home take care of his dental needs. Went to appt signed in on the tablet. They called me back and staff is super friendly and caring helped with the xray cause I was stressed. I went from there to the back waited in the dentist he came in and said we need antibiotics and we need to remove the tooth and talk about an implant later. So far I was happy. They sent me up front to set the appt up for the procedure and payment. This is where it went south.... the lady said so today's appt is $160 how would you like to pay. I said ma'am I was told today was FREE. She said we'll it would have been but they didn't even finish the consultation because they changed your chart which causes you to pay for the app. Then she said we'll I can't help what the call center people told you they don't even work here they just set up the appt. I told her I was not paying because when I went back and started the appt I was still being told what all they are going to do for the free consultation. You can't change a price once service is completed. I do not have insurance so I'm self pay.I have to know what I'm paying before I have a bill. I'm on a fixed income that's why I called around before I chose this Dentist. How can people hire people to bait people then when they come in you pull the big Ole switch and pass the blame on oh well they didn't know. Sorry but your NOT getting my money! I have good teeth just can't get a good dentist!

Negative experience: Man this place. They are very unorganized and unhelpful. The only reason I keep going is because my hygienists is THE BEST!! I wish I knew his name!! He needs to get out of that office because he is too good for them. Every time I go they say they don’t accept my discount plan, I have to call my plans company and get them both on the phone to work it out. BTW THEY DO ACCEPT THE DISCOUNT PLAN EVERY-TIME! IVE DONE THIS THREE TIMES!! I’m over it. Aspen Dental do better, I am paying for a service.

Negative experience: I want to share my experience at Aspen Dental located on Newberry Road in Gainesville. The receptionist, a Hispanic assistant, and the woman who handles payments were all very friendly. That said, the overall experience made it clear that this office seems far more focused on taking money from patients than on their actual well-being. Here is what happened. I made appointments for my two daughters and then for myself. My daughters were re-evaluated, and both were told they needed a “deep cleaning” for their gums. This was completely new to me, as I have been to several dentists over the years and had never once been told this was necessary. After it was explained, I agreed and the appointments were scheduled. My insurance covered part of the cost, and I paid the remaining balance: one daughter was charged $124 and the other $187. They then evaluated me and concluded that I also needed the same “deep cleaning,” but only on half of my mouth. This immediately raised concerns because I had seen a different dentist about two weeks earlier. That dentist told me I only needed a regular cleaning and fillings, found no cavities, and never mentioned any gum infection. When Aspen Dental provided my estimate, it was $1,200, and even with insurance I would still be responsible for $600. I told them I was not interested. At that point, they pushed paperwork in front of me to apply for financing, despite me clearly stating that I did not want the procedure or any payment plan. When I declined, the man assisting me appeared visibly irritated. I explained again that I was only interested in a regular cleaning and fillings. He said he would speak with the doctor and call me the following day — which never happened. After waiting four days, I called the office. I was told someone would return my call, but no one did. Two weeks later, I called again. The receptionist told me the doctor was fully booked for the entire month of November and that she would contact me if there was a cancellation or to schedule something in December. I never received a call. When December arrived, I went to the office in person to find out what was going on. I explained my situation again and stated clearly that I only wanted a regular cleaning and fillings. The receptionist scheduled me for a regular cleaning but said she needed to consult the doctor regarding the fillings. On January 28, the same man who performs the deep cleanings called me and told me I had an appointment that day at 4 p.m. I informed him my appointment was actually for the following day. After apologizing, he immediately asked whether anyone had explained the cost of the cleaning — even though it was clearly documented in their system. I once again stated that I was not interested in a deep cleaning and only wanted a regular cleaning. He told me, “That’s not how it works.” When I explained that my insurance covers routine cleanings, he responded that insurance does not decide what the doctor does. I told him, “You’re trying to charge me thousands of dollars,” and he replied that it was “only $600.” He then stated the doctor would not risk his license because of my “gum infection,” even though I have never had gum pain and have never experienced any related issues. I also explained that I had received regular cleanings in the past without any problems and that this “deep cleaning” had never been presented as necessary before. At that point, I canceled my appointment due to the number of red flags I experienced. I also canceled my daughters’ future appointments. My conclusion is that this office aggressively pushes expensive and unnecessary procedures. If they cannot profit from you, communication stops and you are simply ignored.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Aspen Dental was wonderful from beginning to end. Everyone was friendly from the receptionist to the x-ray tech to the dentist to the dental hygienist to Jarron the billing person. I'm bad with names so I could only remember the last one. I had a fair amount of questions along the way and each person answered them quickly and thoroughly. As someone who has never been a fan of going to the dentist, their professionalism helped ease my nerves. I'll be back.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Aspen twice. So I’m pretty new to the office and haven’t been to the dentist in many years. Everyone I met from the time I walked in the door was absolutely amazing and welcoming. My hygienist Madison was so great! I met with her twice for a 2 part procedure and she was very friendly and provided me with top notch care! I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I had been trying for months to get a dental appointment and couldn’t get in anywhere. I decided to give Aspen Dental a call to see if they could see me and they got me on the schedule for 2 days from the time I called. I went in and the entire staff was amazing. I needed surgery and they was able to schedule it for the following day. So glad I gave them a call.

Negative experience: Run, do not walk! This place is terrible. Had two crowns done, temporaries popped off twice taking buildup and parts of old filling with them. That's OK, just use more glue to fill craters with when placing permanent crowns? Crowns then popped of twice within about a year, both times when I was flossing. Second time I was told I should buy a water-pic to solve this problem and then informed that I still owe them more than $700 for a procedure that started over a year earlier and was refused service until it was paid? Can never get a bill straight, quotes mean nothing and I am a stickler for making payments when services are rendered. Have found a wonderful new dental clinic that has fixed their mistakes with an appropriate build up and placement of a new crown. Members of their staff are escapees from Aspen Dental and are well aware of the poor quality work that is performed by them, and their billing practices.

Fantastic experience: I went on with a very urgent problem. I had lost my upper dentures. I just signed an offer to work for a new company and have not worked in two years. They worked with me all through the process and told me that they could have a new upper dentures made for me before I have to go to Mississippi. Everyone was sympathetic very helpful.

Negative experience: Absolutely negative experience with the exception of the receptionist whom was friendly and personable. I came in for an extraction with an implant placement. I received a consultation concerning the cost involved for the extraction with implant placement then a secondary breakdown for placement of the abuttment and crown itself. I prepaid for the extraction and implant then scheduled the abuttment and crown for after the required healing period. The extraction and implant placement were fairly straight forward eventhough the dental assistant was course and unfriendly. At that time absolutely NOTHING was said concerning my overall dental health. I do have a dentist whom I see several times a year for cleanings and exams. Fast forward to the post surgical follow-up (3 days later), the doctor came into the room, asked me to hold up my gum for him. He never touched me. He then informed me I need a series of"special deep cleanings" before they would proceed with the completion of my abbuttment and crown. I informed him I had a cleaning 3 months prior to which he informed me they didnt do a good job. The dental hygienist was sent in to verify the doctor's statement. At this point I was sent to the lobby to wait while they got an estimate for me ( think used car lot). When called back i was given the estimate of $1200 per cleaning of which I needed a series of 3. So, $3600 for cleanings that I get for free with my insurance. The majority of the estimate was for "add-ons" not covered by insurance ( again, used car lot) when I complained she assumed I didnt have the money and suggested financing the procedures. After explaining that money wasn't an issue but the cost was, she stated she would ask the hygienist about giving me a discount ( have I mentioned used car lot). All further appointments have been canceled.

Negative experience: My experience with dentist and hygienist were fantastic: Madison (hygienist) and Dr. Knepper (dentist) answered my questions thoroughly and were great. Hope Aspen holds onto them. That said, my experience with billing has been god awful. Do not pay upfront, as I've never seen a vendor so slow refund you after dental insurance processing. I have called half a dozen times over the last two months about the fact they owe me a refund. Even when he corporate office agrees that they owe you a refund, they won't refund you, and just issue you a virtual credit on your account for any future work, and you have to wait additional months of processing in the billing department before you have the option to call them again to issue a refund. They will slow walk you as long as possible to hold onto your money as long as possible--it's almost as if they are actually in the business of holding onto your money and making interest off of it. Crazy good service, right? Additionally, be warned, I realized only after I paid that Aspen has excessive mark ups (expect to pay double market price or more depending on the item such as Rx mouthwash, Rx toothpaste, Arestin antibiotic treatment, etc). Definitely compare prices and do NOT just assume just because they are an in-network provider with your dental insurance, they are billing you competitive prices in any way shape or form. I would strongly recommend avoiding big corporate Aspen as even when they owe you a refund after processing your dental insurance, they will slow walk it for months despite repeated directives to return the money. If you overpay, you will have to call corporate many times and months later. The over-market billing on charges and the questionable corporate practices on issue credits instead of proactively refunding are incredibly problematic for building customer trust and acts as a huge disincentive to return, despite the good dental staff.

Negative experience: All of the staff was nice to me except one. The dental assistant started the moment she had interaction with me. One of the first things she said she would help me get an appointment with archer road for another date(not in a nice way)I made an appointment at newberry rd. I told her I already waited for my appointment and I didn't care which aspen dental took the tooth out of my mouth as long as it came out. She went in the back and came back and took me to the room. In the room she said it says we already saw you for this at the other location. It says you turned down care !!! $900 I spent that day I had a small budget due to the fact my kid plays travel ball. I could not afford more than one tooth that day. I told her I was broke that day. She scoffed at me and left. She came back after the dentist left took the stuff off of me and goes you need to make an appointment to have the tooth extracted and she meanly said NOT TODAY YOU WONT. Then she found out I was given an appointment for today and I heard in the hall saying that's NOT happening today. The end of the appointment when I was having my blood pressure done I was so irritated from everything my blood pressure was spiking and after I was left alone my blood pressure was going back down after I could calm down. The end of the appointment she came back in asked what was going on here. She had a smile on her face and told me I could not have my tooth pulled with high blood pressure. She was the reason I had blood pressure. I didn't deserve any of that. All of the other staff was super nice to me . Like I can’t complain about any of the staff except that one and she was only black nurse. Not raciest at all she just happened to be the only black nurse so it’s just a direct description. I personally was grumpy but I was not being mean my mouth hurt and I had no sleep so no i did not have a smile on my face that’s about as far as that goes. I have never had contact with the nurse before this incident. Update I went back to have the tooth pulled walked in had the dental assistant I specifically asked not to work with.they had enough assistants for someone else to be in there. She jammed the water sucking tube in my mouth. She also numbed me up then during that time wasted my time while numbed up taking lots of X-rays. The time she was done it had worn off. Now because she wanted to be a punk I have to wait for a third appointment at a different office.i would not recommend this office they don’t listen to customers concerns or respect when a customer asks not to work with a certain staff member. I would recommend the Archer rd one over this location.today is the 5th and I now have to stay in pain till the 14th because concerns were ignored.

Walk-ins welcome ! omg amazing i literally went to shands teaching to get on the lottery drawing to see if they drew my name, was turned away waiting room packed! Waitress at ihop told me about aspen taking walk ins! Unreal i called and suoer suoer nice phone service! Gave me apt hour later and im getting xrays, now waiting on the tooth to be pulled, im so exited Ben has great bedside manner. Mean while shout out to all employees here amazing over sweet! Fantastic experience: No doctor or dentist visit is rarely if ever looked forward to or back upon with warm feelings but I can say with this procedure I had done the staff made it most tolerable. The whole process was explained step by step from payment, procedure to walking me out. Customer service was most excellent. I will utilize this office in the future for all dental needs.

Negative experience: They completely, flat out lied to me about my condition and charged me close to $3k to do it. They told me I have periodontal disease, terrified me into believing I was going to get a bone infection if I didn’t fork over a couple grand and have a completely unnecessary cleaning and antibiotics placed, all for the sake of making more money when I just needed a routine cleaning. Second opinions show this was a COMPLETE LIE!!! Do not fall for their scam. They will overcharge you and terrify you into believing you have a disease that you don’t just to get more money from you. Please look into the class action lawsuit that is currently ongoing against Aspen before you sign up as a patient here!!

Fantastic experience: Our first time at Aspen dental and we were greeted by Shana. If I had my own business, I would hire her away. She is the most uplifting positive, encouraging and helpful person that I have probably met in any business that I've dealt with. I'm a registered nurse and I have high standards and I will tell you I've never met anyone like her. She explained everything perfectly, took her time. We did not feel rushed and was helpful in so many ways! Going to the dentist or something that people don't like to do so a lot of people avoid going to the dentist but being greeted and Then explaining the process and everything there both my 87-year-old Mom and my anxieties were very much diminished and we felt comfortable and safe. Give that girl a raise! Danny, the dental assistant was very nice very thorough and went above and beyond honest as well. Not only will my mother be using those services, but I also will be using those services in the future. It was a wonderful experience and I can't say I've ever had a wonderful experience at a dentist office or really any other medical field office. Negative experience: Went here for a cracked molar. They changed my services and tried to charge me more but luckily the receptionist is wonderful and fixed it for me. Dental surgeon assistant then told me I didn’t pay so I showed her the receipt and she doubled down saying I didn’t pay. Both the receptionist and financial advisor had to tell her she was wrong, I felt like she could have asked them instead of accusing me of lying when I had both the receipts for the consultation that I never got and the surgery. Got told to ‘not scream’ when he hit a sore spot with the needle even when it was a gasp of pain. All and all I won’t be back, this was an awful experience. Front house staff was great as was the tech I saw on my first visit. Surgeon and Assistant have terrible bedside manner.

Negative experience: I called to make a same-day appointment for a broken and painful wisdom tooth. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM, and I arrived at 1:50 to complete new patient paperwork. I had already provided my insurance information over the phone and again at check-in. By 3:00 PM, I still hadn’t been seen, so I went to the front desk to ask what was going on since multiple patients who arrived after me were being called back. Even the receptionist seemed confused. Once I finally got to the exam room, the oral surgeon said he could do the extraction, but I was sent back to the waiting area to go over payment options. I was prepared to pay whatever my insurance didn’t cover. However, the office manager then asked for my insurance information again—the third time that day—only to tell me that the oral surgeon doesn’t accept my insurance. I ended up spending over two hours there and only got x-rays done. Nothing else. I should’ve listened to the warnings about this place, but I was desperate for relief. Lesson learned.

Negative experience: Prices are outrageous. Nothing is done on first visit despite being told you are getting a cleaning. After the consultation you get a price breakdown of everything they suggested and they add MANY other services to the price analysis then what you were told was needed. I had 3 surface cavities and left with a $10,000 estimate. Which was knocked down to $5,000 after insurance “discounts”

Negative experience: I went in for an infection or something on my upper front gum. It is preventing me from wearing my dentures. I had already went to my doctors and they put me on amoxicillin. Did not clear up. Recommended going to dentist. I went to aspen dental. Dentist came in. Stood at the foot of the chair. I raised my lip a little to show where the area in question is. Which is just a small bottom edge of the pocket of what ever this is. The pocket is the size of a quarter and goes up under my noise The painful area is under the edge of my noise. He wouldn't know that because he never checked it out. Just went and leaned against the counter and started saying older I'll fitting dentures case these issues. I have had my dentures for over eight years. They have never caused a blister they do not fit loose. I do not use anything to hold the top ones in. He was just pushing that I need to get new dentures Put me on the same antibiotic I was on before and a prescription rinse and referred me to their oral surgeon. I have never went to a dentist that never even got up close and looked into my mouth to see what the problem was. My own doctor was more thorough then this dentist. How can you know what the problem is if you don't inspect it. The slight raising of my lip I did didn't show the problem only the location of where it was. I am not satisfied at all with the dentist I had at aspen dental. All he was concerned about was selling new dentures not the actual problem I went there for
