Negative experience: Run away go elsewhere

Fantastic experience: I get cleanings, and exams here and it was the first time I’ve had any further work done (three fillings in one visit) and they managed to get the fillings in the same visit as the perio chart, and cleaning which was beyond amazing because I live in ellensburg, and I can’t drive, so this was so convenient. Today I told the dentist (I’m sorry I can’t remember anyone’s name but I think it is Dr. Lewis? Louis?) that I’m autistic, to give him a heads up that I’m really anxious and have sensory issues. I’m disabled because of autism, so dentist work has caused me meltdowns later or shut downs, but today I had none of that because the Dr. and his hygienists were so patient. I don’t ever expect royal carpet treatment or have unrealistic expectations, or demand any treatment, but just hoping I don’t annoy or bother anyone because of my anxiety. The team being so kind and joking with me, just being generally warm and friendly, prevented a shutdown/meltdown or panic attack. For an autistic woman, this is a huge deal. I cried in the car after the visit because I felt like I wasn’t a burden or difficult. The receptionists are always so sweet, too. In general, Apple valley is amazing, including ortho Dr Z and his team, too. THANK YOU Yakima family dental!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Negative experience: Me siento decepcionado se supone que iba por una limpieza y pague cerca de 235 dolares y cuando me atendieron dijeron que no me harían la limpieza ese día y que solo me arian unas radiografías y me revisarian los dientes para después decirme que sería una limpieza profunda y que sería otro costo, regrese a mi casa sin 235 dolares y sin mi limpieza dental, no puede ser

Fantastic experience: I have bad dental anxiety and they were very understanding and patient. They explained everything they did and gave any accommodations they could. Very nice staff

Fantastic experience: I had not been to the dentist n many years. They made me feel at home and were the kindest, most reassuring individual I have ever been around in a patient settings. They were able to get me in the day I called, do an extraction and the follow up has been beyond anything’ I expected. I have quite A bit more to do but the staff s so positive and kind I have no worries. If you are putting off dental work because it’s been a while and your embarrassed or whatever don’t, the dentist there have one goal and that is to provide excellent dental care no matter what life has thrown your way.

Fantastic experience: just had three fillings. itzel was very kind and so was dr. lewis! i didn’t catch the other doctors name that gave the local anesthetic or the assistant(?) but they were very kind too! thank you!

Fantastic experience: This was by far the best experience I've ever had at the dentist. I was so nervous and they made me feel so comfortable. I had all of my teeth pulled top and bottom and it only took like 30 min. I will never go anywhere else. The dentist is so nice and he asks you every few min if your ok. I highly recommend you make your next appt here! They never judged me once and that is a huge because it's hard to find a dentist that doesn't judge you.

Negative experience: Had a deep cleaning appointment for 3:30 Thursday. I get a reminder call and need to confirm today\ Wed at 9:41am. Then get a call at 12:21pm that my appointment been cancel. Problem is, I go to bed about 7:00am to 8:00am. So I was a sleep when Yakima Valley Dental called and left a message! Only had a 2 hours and 40 min window to call back! Why can't these reminder calls be place 2 days before appointment so a person has enough time to call back??? Off to find a dental service that handles these confirm appointments better. Had same problem with previous dental place canceling my cleaning appointments. GRRR Been over a year now, waiting get my teeth cleaned :( I did get a filling done Tuesday that went well. Told receptionist, see ya Thursday.

Fantastic experience: I went in today for an exposure and Bonding procedure to remove my impacted canine to bring down my adult one down. they were really quick I was put to sleep in less than a minute. it was done in about 30-40 minutes. thanks you for my new smile that will come together.

Negative experience: Edit: after recent Medicaid cuts the clinic straight up abandoned all Medicaid patients, and there’s nowhere to go—this is mostly the system being awful, but regardless, I’m never coming back here again in the future. These people are awful. I can never get through when calling, they never return voicemails, wait times are months out, and 2 weeks before my appointment they moved me back by ANOTHER MONTH, because "The dentist won't be in that day." So appointment dates are meaningless. I don't know how the actual service is, I can't even get in. They like to play games with people to where it's nearly impossible to actually get an appointment. Don't waste time trying to do business here if you can help it.

Fantastic experience: Had all teeth removed within 30 minutes, even impacted ones due to mild hyperdonta. Extractions and dentures are covered by CHPW/Apple Health/Molina. Would highly recommend, will update experience after receiving dentures. (Originally came in for a consult, got removal same day.)

Negative experience: I came in to get a consultation and dr.Paul Hsiao wouldn’t even come in and speak with me just refused to help me in anyway. Extremely pour bedside manner.

Negative experience: Honest waste of time. Traveled an hour and half to see a Dr for 30seconds that didn’t even introduce himself.

Negative experience: Bad costumer service. When I need to call to make appointment no one answers. I went in a few weeks ago for a fill tooth hurts and jaw hurts. While getting my tooth fixed I just heard the assistant and dentist talking about a boyfriend in front of me I don’t really need to hear personal life I think they need to fix that about front desk to answer phone calls and the assistant and maybe other that work there not talk about personal things in front of others.

Fantastic experience: Love coming to this Location for the kids rather than location on Nobhill dentists here have more patience with children and more accurate dental work and actually take there time overall pleased:)

Negative experience: There’s only one doctor who didn’t make me feel bad about my teeth and that’s about it. A few of the nurses have made comments about me not making appointments when I should. My son just had a doctor roll his eyes and be rude to him because he was crying. He had missed his nap. Still, even if my 2 year old was crying does not give anyone the right to roll their eyes and make snotty remarks towards my son. Will not be going back. I already have stress about going to the dentist, and they just make it worse.

Negative experience: 7-8-24 my brother was scheduled for his appointment at 4:30pm by 5:20pm he was still there.We were told that Valley Apple dental made his appointment and Family dental would like to see him when he had 4 weeks since he got all his teeth removed I left there the employees didn’t mind me leaving at all. Will never recommend this place one star ⭐️ is all I give them

Fantastic experience: It was my first time going to a dentist in Yakima today. I don’t know if all the dental staff in Yakima are as kind, but my experience today was great. The staff I met was calm and did their jobs well, and they were kind and respectful to me and to each other. That atmosphere made me feel comfortable. I was particularly impressed with Dr. Flinkman, who took the time to ensure everything was clear, even retaking X-rays when some parts weren't sharp. I would like to recommend this place to people around me.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely recommend Yakima Family Dental, unbelievable experience Raphael and Dr. Lewis were amazing with my 11 year old daughter needed a tooth extracted and they had just gotten her numb and the power went out due to a fire and Dr. Lewis felt comfortable moving forward and I trusted in his judgement and I am glad I did. I struggle finding dentist’s for my family and now I hope he stays here with Yakima family dental because I never thought I would ever say …. I love our dentist but they are the best!!! Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: I always dreaded going to the dentist but I finally broke down and went. These people are AWESOME! Not only are the friendliest bunch of people, they are highly trained in how to make you feel at ease and they are extremely good at what they do. I was so nervous, I almost cancelled as I was in need of having all of my top teeth and a few bottom extracted so I was scared. They were done before I knew they had started and they are very compassionate. They even give you the dentists call number that you can text him if you have and questions or concerns. I gave five stars but I would give them 10.

Negative experience: My appointment was at 7:30 for extreme dental pain and a broken molar, I was treated with no courtesy at all. They scheduled me with the wrong dentist who doesn't perform the procedure I need by mistake and spent over an hour "running my insurance" while charting amongst themselves even though that was all filled out in the entry paperwork we submitted online. Terrible.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience here! The staff are so helpful and welcoming, then the Dentist I had was very kind and informative. The most comfortable I’ve been at the Dentist and I look forward to my next visit!

Negative experience: I was told they did sedation and when i got there they told me they don't do sedations and i live in moses lake and i called to see if they could send me my glasses and they told me id have to drive clear back to get my glasses cause they don't send them. Never going there again

Negative experience: Good luck getting them to sign any forms on time or correctly in order for additional work to be done. Took them almost 2 weeks to send in a referral form then did not even fill out the form correctly causing crucial timing to be missed and not be done at all.

Fantastic experience: This is the best dental/oral surgery office I have ever been to. My first visit here, I had to get 9 teeth pulled and was insanely anxious! Dr. Paul was so fast!! And they did such an amazing job that they eliminated all of my anxiety around going to the dentist. I've never had a better experience at the dentist. Dr. Paul is by far THE BEST oral surgeon I have EVER had!! Ever!! The ladies at the front desk are always so friendly and helpful. They are quick about getting my appointments scheduled. I even get reminder calls the day before my appointment! I literally couldn't ask for a better dental office, period. Hands down 10 out of 10!!

Fantastic experience: Extremely professional, personable and knowledgeable. The clinic is kept clean and organized. The staff are quite courteous and helpful. The dentists create an atmosphere of team work that is quite unique. They were careful during the procedures, I didn't feel the usual pain. I can honestly say one of the best dental clinics I've been to. They pay attention to detail, the results are beautiful and healthy and happy.

Fantastic experience: Writing a review for my husband Luis Garcia. He is a new patient and recently went in, he is very satisfied with the quality of care. He compliments them on their politeness from receptionist to assistants to dentist. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been here three times now and each time ive loved it! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. Went in today for a broken tooth extraction and the surgeon was fast (but not in a way that felt rushed, as he was still careful), always asking if I was doing alright or if I was experiencing any pain, and the place was hygienic. Great experience so far overall! I also liked that I wasn’t sitting there for an eternity. I was in and out relatively quickly! Happy to come back for future dental needs!

Negative experience: Treated poorly and downgraded, I stated I did NOT want silver in my mouth and was told “we don’t give special treatment here, we can’t give you different then what we give our other patients” Clearly stating they were trying to go the cheap route of fixing a broken tooth, I will not be back ever. And will be making sure every single one of my family and friends avoids this place as well, considering they had me in the chair ready to put nitrous on and the assistant mentions I am asking for special treatment?? I’m asking to not have to spend $6,000 out of pocket again to have silver removed as it isn’t a good fit for me? If we could’ve gotten a calculation of how much everything was going to be to not use silver I would’ve payed for it Absolutely uncalled for now I’m searching for someone who is willing too do it the correct way and not the welfare way

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient here for years and just recently had my cleaning and had the best experience with Dr. Flinkman and Melanie. Melanie was the best hygienist I’ve ever had! She was very thorough and just the kindest person. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Put me on the cancelation lists and actually followed through and got me in early. Also they always did great with my kids.

Negative experience: Dr. Paul has the worst chairside manorism of any dentist I have ever seen. He didn’t use any topical anesthetic while numbing my tooth. He just jabbed the needle into my gums and pushed as hard as he could. I had more pain from the injection site than from the tooth area itself. He didn’t give me any type of compassion for an extremely stressful situation to begin with. He was extremely rough. If anyone I knew had to see this dentist because of insurance, I would recommend paying cash to have some one who cares about people work on them. It’s hard enough to go to the dentist then to get someone who doesn’t care about you is aweful. Don’t go here if you don’t have to.

Negative experience: I had a bad experience I had a appointment and they kept trying to tell me I wasn’t scheduled at all when I had a appointment card saying it was this time and day and I took off work for this but luckily they was able to get me in then now I’m trying very hard for my medication and I’m starting to feel lots of pain and I have to wait longer now in pain just cause this place is so unorganized like what kind of place is this

Fantastic experience: Dr. Flinkman and his staff are phenomenal. They are the kindest, most attentive people I’ve met in life in general. They made me feel comfortable and took such good care of me. The work they did on my teeth is some of the best work I’ve seen. Thank you so much for everything!

Fantastic experience: The people have been great here, from the front desk to the Doctor. It took me a long time to find a Dentist that would take my Inshurance, and they haven’t made it a billing hell. My family loves the people here and I couldn’t see us going any we’re else for dentist work.

Positive experience: Experience was good , front desk ladies are good . The one thing I dislike is calling to try and make an appointment, one they take way too long to answer your call and once they answer they transfer you to someone else that eventually you get hung up on . And last their exams rooms are horrible disgusting dirty . There’s debes and stains on the floor stains on the counters and This was on an early morning appointment. You will think being a medical dental exam rooms would be more clean and disinterested. There is always plenty of girls / students in there laughing and joking around maybe some of them can to the disinfecting before patients go in the rooms ….

Fantastic experience: They were all so kind and helpful! The dentist was extremely polite and knowledgeable. His assistant Sophia took special care when doing my x-rays. Let's face it: bite wings...well they bite! But when Sophia did them, I didn't feel a thing!

Caring for you as if you were one of there own. I had oral surgery there and not only did they make me very comfortable but then a member of staff called to check on how I was afterwards. Fantastic experience: Yesterday I got a call from their office. I didn't recognize their 800# so didn't answer. Since I get a lot of spam calls, there's a lot I don't answer. So they canceled my appt cuz I hadn't confirmed my appointment. So when I called back I told them I hadn't recognized the #, but I was able to confirm my appointment for this afternoon. So as I was sitting in the dental office today, arriving 15 minutes early, the gal that waited on me, she didn't check me in. Sitting in their waiting room, the gal in reception called me and asked where I was. As I got up, and another receptionist had called me. She tried to tell me I didn't chk in but I had, the other person hadn't acknowledged it. At least I got in and got my extraction done. It hurts like the dickens but I'll b okay. The oral surgeon Dr Paul was awesome. He hit the nerve both on the outer and inner part of my gum; didn't feel him pull the tooth and I didn't bleed much either. Thank you staff; you're much appreciated. Best dental office I've ever been to1
