Fantastic experience: People at Northstar dental treat me very well..listen to my concerns and try to put me at ease. Dr. Burbach is great,does awesome work,,and I'm glad he's my dentist.

Fantastic experience: While I’ve only had an exam and X-rays, everyone there was very kind and courteous. I have had extensive dental and orthodontic work done throughout my lifetime, so I’ve Experienced dentists probably far more than most people do. I do not have the fear that a lot of people have because of my exposure. I saw Dr. Burbach at my appointment And even though he hasn’t done any work yet, the one thing that I didn’t notice is that he is very soft spoken and has a calming presence. I also noticed that he is very intentional about his movements, and I believe his movements are very controlled and methodical. He doesn’t make any sudden movements which I think would be very comforting for a lot of people. I have yet to go back and have a filling put in that fell out from another dentist, and have a crown reattached that had fallen off from another dentist. I will try to remember to write another review then. All in all, I am very happy with my choice of NorthStar Dentalso far! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I got a call today to see if I wanted to fill someone’s canceled appointment. I did, so I booked the slot. Check in took about 10 seconds then I sat down in the waiting room and my name was called in about two minutes. My hygienist was newer, but if she had not told me, I would have never guessed. She was very gentle and thorough and offered a relaxing environment. I put headphones on and switched the tv to Zorro while she cleaned my teeth. The time flew by. She used a new suction tool and took a set of x-rays that my previous dentist did not offer. She also opted to change the order of how she cleaned my teeth so that the simple polishing step would remove most of the looser plaque before she used any tools. It was a very pleasant experience. Dr. Burbach came in afterwards and checked my teeth. I told him of about four different concerns that I had with my teeth. He remembered and addressed them all. He offered insight which allowed me to make an educated decision. He is very kind, gentle, patient, and reminds me of my favorite uncle. I would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone who has ever had a bad experience or just wants to feel like they’re going to the spa instead of the dentist. A big thank you to Dr. Burbach and everyone in his office!

Negative experience: I had a crown placed on my upper tooth here about 1 year and 10 months ago. It first fell out after 1 year and 6 months, and since then, it has fallen out three times. Another dentist examined it and said it now needs to be re-crowned. When I called the original office, they told me there was nothing they could do since I hadn’t been back for follow-up visits after the initial procedure. I understand that my being out of town limits what they can do, but I’m very frustrated that the crown didn’t even last two years. A well-made crown typically lasts 5 to 15 years, sometimes even longer. They told me at the time of the procedure that everything looked perfect, and I don’t necessarily blame them—but based on my experience, I would recommend others consider a different office, as the crown may not have been made as well as it should have been. But the office lady was friendly and kind.

Fantastic experience: I visited the dentists office and learned I had returned to grinding my teeth and need to get some teeth guards. It's not surprising with some of the pressures I have faced throughout these past few years. I'm glad it was caught so I can begin fixing the problem. I also enjoy all the young ladies and the Doctors on the staff. They are all very social with the clients and it makes you glad to have chosen this clinic to do business with. Hands down, this is the best dental office I’ve ever been to! I have a lot of dental anxiety, and when I called to schedule, I mentioned it to the front desk staff. Right from the start, their calm, non-judgmental tone made me feel like I was in good hands. On the day of my appointment, Heather and Leah greeted me with warm smiles, which immediately helped ease my nerves. As I settled in, I felt more relaxed thanks to their welcoming attitude. Dr. Nguyen and her assistant were amazing, too. They took the time to chat with me before getting started, and I had a lot of questions. Dr. Nguyen patiently answered every one of them, never making me feel rushed or judged. I’m so glad I found NorthStar Dental, and I’ll be transferring my entire family to their care. Negative experience: Sharing this here so no one else has to go through what I did. Because we’re both Vietnamese, I trusted and chose a dental office with a Vietnamese dentist – Dr. Huy Nguyen at Northstar Dental – Nebraska Family Dentistry. Address: 5800 N 33rd St, Suite 100, Lincoln, NE 68504. I made an appointment for a routine check-up, but Dr. Huy said I needed a deep cleaning and that I had 3 cavities on the lower right and 1 on the lower left (with an old filling that needed to be removed and refilled; since it was big, he said it required a crown to prevent breaking). Week 1: He filled the left side cavity, did a deep cleaning on the left side, and placed a temporary crown. Week 2: I came back for the right side fillings and deep cleaning. I told Dr. Huy that “the left side I had filled last week hurts.” Dr. Huy said, “It’s a new tooth, it needs to adjust, so pain is normal.” Week 3: I returned for the permanent crown placement and told him the right side was now also hurting, I couldn’t chew hard food, hot, or cold. He said: “Wait 2 weeks to 1 month and it will be fine.” Week 4: I returned again because the pain hadn’t improved. This time, he shaved down the crown he had just placed to make it lower. Week 5: The pain became unbearable, my face swelled up like I had mumps. I made an appointment with Dr. Huy, but he was on vacation, so they referred me to another office (same branch as his). They did an X-ray and said I had pulpitis and needed a root canal. That doctor also told me that placing the permanent crown too early caused the infection. Since Dr. Huy’s office couldn’t handle infected teeth, they referred me to 3 other clinics. Two in Lincoln had no availability until September, and the one in Omaha had an opening in 2 days. For nearly a month, I had to miss work, leave my 5-month-old baby at home, and keep going back and forth, calling Dr. Huy’s office, wasting so much time and energy. On week 5 when my face swelled up, I had to stay home from work waiting for the root canal. And of course, the Omaha office wasn’t covered by my insurance. So the bill was nearly $2,000 out of pocket. When I went back to Dr. Huy to explain the bill from Omaha—since the infection happened because of his treatment—he said he would “look into it” and see if he could help reduce some of the cost. Later, they said they would call me back with an answer. But the manager there was extremely rude. She said Dr. Huy did a very good job and there was no detail showing the infection was caused by him. Therefore, the Omaha root canal bill had nothing to do with their office and they wouldn’t cover or help with anything. Not even a discount from their own office. I was so upset with their attitude. I called to discuss properly, but she accused me of calling just to cause trouble. Then she changed her story, saying Dr. Huy “misspoke” when he told me they would “look into it.” Honestly, if I hadn’t gone to Dr. Huy, if he hadn’t drilled into my teeth, I wouldn’t have had to suffer over a month of pain leading to a root canal. The manager, Suzie, kept insisting, “Dr. Huy is an excellent dentist, flawless.” Of course, she works there—would she dare admit fault? I’m just disappointed I put my trust in the wrong place. From now on, my family and friends will never recommend this office to anyone. I know mistakes can happen anywhere, but the willingness to resolve issues fairly is completely different from stubbornly denying and shirking responsibility. Whether Dr. Huy is a good dentist or not, I don’t have the expertise to judge. But seeing a manager like Suzie run that office—good luck. Skill without compassion means nothing.

Fantastic experience: I have an implant in my upper jaw. The implant is slowly coming out. A job bone is dissolving. I asked to talk to Dr Burback before my cleaning to make sure that they're aware of this problem. He came in and said that he would be doing the cleaning because he knew better than anybody else. I was very impressed with this and surprise. To me that is excellent Customer Service.

Fantastic experience: I initially came to NorthStar dental 6 months ago after being recommended from a coworker. I had to get a couple fillings and they worked me into their tight schedule they had at the time. Today I went back in for a 6 month cleaning and the experience was amazing as always. The staff are super friendly and the facility is very nice. This is the first dental office I’ve been to that I don’t dread going lol! 5 stars and I highly recommend!

Negative experience: Called last week and was able to get in the same day for tooth pain. Took some x-rays and poked around my teeth for a bit. Prescribed meds and gave some explanations. Scheduled me for a cleaning, not to fix what was causing my pain. Said they would follow up with me, never got it. Will go to a new dentist next week, won’t be going back.

I’ve never been scared, but I know people have been going other places and it makes people uneasy about going to the dentist, but they make everything super easy and Would be the only place I recommend!

To Julie Nebraska Oral & Facial Surgery THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for going above and beyond in providing a detailed coordination of benefits between my two dental insurance companies, for being able to get an accurate up front out of pocket cost so I could plan financially. ((This is normally not done, normally only the primary is run through)) To Dr. Rieck, my oral surgeon - delicate hands! Minimal bruising and pain, I was in and out. Given clear instructions, and prepared for home, Dr. Rieck even personally reached out via text to check in and see how I was doing post surgery! Unbelievably kind! Amazing bedside manner! To Nebraska Family Dentistry - NorthStar Dental thank you for getting me in so quickly and prioritizing me every time I thought about doing this largely invasive and multi-step procedure. It was years in the making mentally, but when I was ready to “pull the trigger” and make the commitment, then financially coordinate the efforts it was zoom zoom zoom. The molds of my teeth needed to be redone once, per the lab, but the office coordinated efforts to get me in when I could make it across town again - which was lovely!!! Perfect transition for a beautiful end result!!! So many of you have asked about what I had done! If you have teeth you are insecure about, trust these fine hands and the amazing institutions they run for any and all of your dental healthcare needs! Because of them, I have beautiful front teeth just in time for Christmas ❄️

Negative experience: I unfortunately did not have a good experience with this office. I had called in advance and they told me that for $395 I could have my x-rays done and 2 free cleanings per year plus 2 emergency cleanings. Since I don't have insurance, I thought this would be a wise investment. AFTER they did the x-rays they informed me I needed a deep cleaning that would only be covered at 25% (which, with their pricing, left the out-of-pocket still VERY expensive). I wanted to pass, but at that point they were going to charge me more for the x-rays/exam than the $395 (it was going to be $427!!!) so at that point I really had no choice but to give them the fee to join. I asked if I could pay the $395 and go to the College of Dentistry for the deep cleaning since it would be a lot cheaper, then come back and take advantage of my membership. They said I could so I went to several appointments at the College of Dentistry. They said I am now good to go, with both teeth and gums, for regular cleanings so I called to get in with Northstar and they still won't honor it, due to the previous diagnosis... even knowing they could just confirm with the College of Dentistry. I paid them $395 and got absolutely no work done on my teeth. The only way they will do anything more is if I pay more (only getting a 25% discount, which still leaves a huge cost). I am just cutting my losses but feel very taken advantage of.

Fantastic experience: My whole family has come here for years, even after we moved across town, their service is always top tier! Dr. Burbach is the best. I’ve never been recommend unnecessary procedures here like some other places do for a quick buck.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for several years now and they've done a fantastic job with the treatment I've needed. They give you all of your options and work with your insurance very well to limit out of pocket expenses, which can be expensive at times. I've needed quite a bit of work done but never felt pressured to do it right away. Money gets tight these days so I appreciate them being patient with me and understanding that I need time to save money to get the treatments I need. Slowly but surely I'm getting everything done and they've been with me every step of the way. I'll soon be done with all the treatments and for this I am thankful. Dr. Burbach has been my primary dentist and he's top notch. All the hygienists are great and take very good care of you. There is no other place I'd rather go.

Negative experience: Terrible. I went here after a filling fell out because it was close. I paid the fee for emergencies, and the dentist looked at it and asked about pain. I said it had been hurting, but wasnt right now. The dentist concluded that the nerve had died, and the only thing to do was remove the tooth. Then they told me that they do not do extractions, and wanted me to call and have the tooth pulled by some other dentist. I paid the bill and left. Another dentist then started calling me over and over to have it pulled. I chose not to, and have been using the temporary filling paste from walgreens ever since. The tooth is not dead. On top of all this i began to receive ANOTHER bill from here, after i paid them twice on my visit, once for the emergency fee and once before i left to supposedly settle the bill. They advertise emergency services; but dont even do simple extractions? I thought DDS meant you were a dentist.

Fantastic experience: The check in process was smooth and expedient. The dental assistant/hygienist had a fun yet professional bed side manor. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with Dr. Nguyen. Her intelligence was obvious and appreciated.

The hygienists were thorough and gentle, and Dr. Burbach’s calm and laid back demeanor made the exam stress free. We also appreciate that Dr. Burbach is open and honest about our options for treatment. The office associates are so friendly and efficient, they make the whole experience a breeze.

Very professional and also very compassionate. Dr. Nguyen took the time to explain everything and made sure I understood, and the office staff busted their butts to get me in to the oral surgeon THE SAME DAY. I'm so grateful for Dr. Nguyen and the staff, thank you all so much for taking great care of me.

Fantastic experience: This is the best appointment I have had at Northstar Dental. This was my first time seeing Dr. Nguyen. She did a very thorough examination and explained everything to me completely. She gave me options for going ahead with my treatment. She also explained which of those options would be best, but gave me the final choice. I was so impressed with her. She was professional, likable, and great communication. I am so glad that I went to her for my dental needs and look forward to working with her in the future.
