On Monday your text says it’s an “ HONOR” to be my dentist, yet the very next day you told me, more than once, that you are “NOT” my dentist and I am “NOT” your patient. Your choice of words and tone of voice definitely put me in my place. YOU are definitely the boss and not to be questioned. I made a statement that was intended to be funny, about having waited for over 1 1/2 hours to see you for an urgent matter. You seemed to be a bit comedic from my first visit the day before so I felt you were open to humor. If it had really bothered me to wait you would have heard from me sooner. When you told me you had another emergency come in for an “EXISTING” patient, I was perfectly fine with that, however I did ask why nobody alerted me of a possible delay. Your response was that you didn’t know why and that “you didn’t know what Dana was doing up there.” I had absolutely no problem waiting, but the professional thing to do would have been to tell me there might be a delay in seeing me. Maybe the more professional side is reserved for your EXISTING PATIENTS ONLY. I had another Dr appt scheduled after my 9 AM appt with you. Fortunately, they had just called me to reschedule due to lightning having hit their building. Otherwise, I would have driven all the way to your office for nothing, as I would have had to leave to make the drive in time to that second appt. Another thing you said, which is also quite puzzling, is that I need to go back to the dentist that originally crowned the tooth that had fallen out the night before. I told you I do not recall who crowned the tooth. You asked if a have a dentist, to which I responded that I did not. You repeatedly asked why I didn’t have a dentist and questioned me further. I explained that I have been going to Dr. Alan Fetner for a long time, but he is a periodontist so couldn’t do the work required. I have my teeth cleanings done at his office as well. I was trying to find a new dentist to do some repair work on my teeth. Dr Fetner suggested I come to you. Surely you can understand why your texts are so confusing. On one-hand you say you are “honored to be my dentist”, but on the other hand you were adamant in telling me you “ARE NOT my dentist.” You explained the two options I had for fixing the broken off tooth. If you had previously agreed to be my dentist then I don’t understand why you could not have done the treatment required. I was also going to set up a scheduled date for having the additional $52,850 of dental work that you had proposed. This is the other reason why I called your office to make the emergency appt. I felt you would want the repaired tooth to be the same color, material, etc. as all of the other crowns you had proposed be corrected. Dr Olitsky, I know you are an educated, skillful, and very successful dentist, so my $52,000 + plan for treatment is just a penny to your bank account. For others, that is a lot of money. Multiple orthodontists and dentists told me that I was too old and my teeth were too crooked to fix with braces or Invisalign. I lost hope of ever having a good smile and would hide my teeth in public. This all changed when I met Dr. Golden Hartley at the Smile Stylist. She was so encouraging and supportive that I could have a perfect smile with Invisalign that I drove six hours from South Carolina to Florida for regular consultations, appointments, cleanings, and fittings. We endured COVID and made use of video meetings to ensure my progress was not hindered. Now, almost two years later, I cannot stop smiling and showing the world their dedication and expertise with pride. I'm not one to ever write reviews, especially about something so personal, but they deserve it for attempting and accomplishing something that everyone else said was impossible. I will recommend them to everyone willing to listen, and I will always be indebted to Dr. Hartley and everyone at the Smile Stylist.
