Experiencia fantástica: Once again I had the pleasure of taking a trip to Disney World, I mean Wellesley Dental Group, to get my one good tooth shaved. Had a lovely discussion with Cruise Director/Office Manager Sara, Lifestyle Director and Events Manager Dr. Bassima Bashour D.D.S and Life Coach/Fun Director/Dental Hygienist Megan. Megan removed the barnacles from my teeth smoother than water off a duck’s back; mandatory nap time. Later enters Chief Morale Officer Madame Dr. Femina Ali D.M.D. She said my teeth will probably stay in my head a little while longer due to the masterful work of her sweetheart of a husband Padre Dr. Ejaz Ali D.M.D. Speaking of, I get to go back tomorrow for Padre to true up a few of the crooked corners in my mouth. If y’all have’nt visited this practice for maintenance of your “cutters”, you have no idea what you are missing. I dreaded going to the dentist before meeting these folks. Now I call it Disney World. Come on by some time cause the water sure is fine. Don’t forget to brush and floss everyday and that includes your dog’s teeth.

Experiencia fantástica: Both my wife and I have been going to Wellesley Dental for several years now, and have been totally satisfied with the dental care provided by the professionals in this office! Drs. Ali blend of technical and scientific expertise, combined with their sensitivity to patient comfort and to effective communication sets them apart from most every dental office in the area. This is one dental office that I actually look forward to visiting each time I have an appointment.

Note for parents or people with caregivers: not enough room to have another person in room with patient comfortably.

Experiencia negativa: My family were patients at Wellesley Dental for a year, and we consistently received excellent clinical care. Dr. Ali, Dr. Beheshti, and the hygienist team are professional, attentive, and skilled. Although the clinical care was excellent, a long billing dispute began in July 2024 when my insurer identified a processing error that billed my services as out-of-network rather than in-network. For seven months, Wellesley Dental repeatedly reported they were waiting for insurance paperwork to process my refund. My insurer sent seven letters and one fax to Wellesley Dental; I made six calls, sent seven emails, mailed a detailed four-page letter, and participated in one three-way call to resolve the issue. Despite our efforts, my refund was never processed. In February 2025, I escalated the matter to the state attorney general and local media. NBC 10 decided to investigate my dispute and contacted 42 North Dental (the parent company), and a refund check for $373.50 was issued on 2/27/2025. A few days after receiving the refund, a call with the regional manager provided a full apology and an explanation: mailed insurance correspondence went to an unstaffed payments PO box; staff failed to take ownership; and operational challenges across multiple locations caused systemic failures. The regional manager said the case was escalated and would be used for staff training. The story aired on NBC 10 Boston on March 19, 2025; search “NBC 10 Charged out-of-network rates for an in-network provider.” Although I received my refund, this was a stressful and avoidable ordeal.

Experiencia negativa: Wellesley Dental Group presents itself with the polished charm of a suburban institution but beneath the gleam is a practice that treats trust as something to be bartered. Pricing is never as clear as the smile in their advertisements and insurance is billed with a generosity that benefits only their accounts. Work is suggested with the air of medical necessity yet carries the faint scent of the unnecessary. In the end you leave with clean teeth but a nagging sense you have been taken for a ride in a very expensive chair.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful team. Their care for patients and treatment has been excellent and pleasant for my child and me. We moved here two years ago and this whole team from front door to all the tech and of course dentists is so wonderful. My child can be fearful with dental procedures and they took care of three “sugar bugs” on his teeth and he didn’t even know he had an injection. Amazing. I am so happy we found them.

Experiencia fantástica: Grab a drink and take a seat because this is going to be a long review. First of all, everybody at the Wellesley Dental Group is off the chain(that means fantastic for the uninitiated in the crowd). When you first enter the office you will be greeted by two of the most kind, engaging and considerate people you will ever want to meet. These two are Sara(Office Manager) and Vicki(Front Desk/Receptionist Magician). Have a little chat with them before hand and they will put your mind at ease and help you to get your whole life together in a New York Minute. Now on to the business of the business. I had a little bit of oral surgery which was performed by Dr. Hickins and his Dental Assistant Nikki. Dr. Hickins has hands like Houdini and to say that he knows what He is doing would be a severe understatement. He explained what he was going to do, did it and we were done. I did not even have time to break into a cold sweat before he finished. Nikki, Dr. Hickins’ Dental Assistant, was also exceptional. Her “Chair-side” manner was stellar. She also explained what was going to happen in an effective and efficient manner. Dr. Hickins and Nikki worked as such a great team; almost finishing each other’s sentences. Professionally they work as well as peanut butter and jelly, bread and butter, lobster and butter, Batman and Robin etc. You get the point. This is the second review I have submitted for the Wellesley Dental Group. These folks are truly fantastic. They have and continue to alleviate my fear of the dentist. It truly is a family feeling. So, if you are looking for competency in this most important profession go check them out.

Experiencia negativa: The front register is really bad. I made and appointment giving all my dental insurance ahead of time and asked them multiple times if they were in network. They said yes but after all the services they told me unfortunately my insurance is not fully accepted I ended up paying a huge bill!

Total clown show. Don’t trust these people

Experiencia negativa: I was cheated and taken advantage of by my dental office after going in for a routine cleaning, and finding two cavities that required fillings during my cleaning, I was told that they found two cavities that needed fillings, and I would not be responsible for anything but the co-pay I also confirmed this when I made the schedule to come in for my fillings with the receptionist when I came in for the fillings another day I also asked I was told the same thing. I am very surprised to have received the bill for approximately $200 to pay for these filings. I do have a witness that was there with me for the cleaning, and also heard the same from the dental staff regarding my only responsibility to be co-pay for this service.

Bryan, an aide working there, took service to a new level. He walked an elderly patient home in the rain while holding an umbrella to keep her dry. Experiencia fantástica: They are some of the best dentists I have ever been to. Their staff are professional and the hygienists do a fast, complete cleaning. They know so much and everyone has great interpersonal skills. They will also answer questions you might have outside of your appointment, such as when buying an electric toothbrush (which is what I used them for, I must have called 3 or 4 times). They also have access to very good specialists though they are not on staff full time. They also provide NOx services which can be very useful for people who need it. Overall I would say anyone could go here and be comfortable, even those who hate the dentist.

She was very personable, friendly, and I felt very comfortable talking to her about my dental/overall health. She was also very knowledgeable on many different alternatives I could take to improve my dental health. I had my x-rays/cleaning completed by Melinda. Melinda had great energy and was very pleasant to be around. She did an excellent job on my cleaning and was extremely thorough. I would also like to give a shout-out to the receptionists Daniela and Sasha. They both had amazing customer service and was available to answer any questions I needed. Daniela did a great job explaining my insurance break down and what I needed to do for my next visit. She also offered appointment cards as an extra resource to remind me about my upcoming appointments. Overall my experience at the Wellesley Dental Group was outstanding! They were kind, patient, and they listened to me. It was judgment free environment and I really appreciated that. I will be recommending anyone who is looking and I also recommend anyone who is reading this review and is considering trying them out! You will NOT be disappointed! When you go, ask for Dr. Famina and Melinda, again you will not be disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: After a tooth crown appreciate being seen when pain appeared. However, not happy that doing the crown on Dr. Ali’s advice, did NOT solve the deeper issue. A root canal might be the least intrusive option with a chance for more.

Experiencia negativa: Doctor and assistant were extremely unprofessional. We’re gossiping, flirting and discussing juvenile things while drilling cavities in my mouth. I was quite vulnerable as the patient and it felt as if they were not focused on me or what they were doing at all.

They made me actually look forward to my visits. The staff was very polite and accommodating. They left me super motivated to take better care of myself. So far I have been there for one superficial cleaning, 2 deep cleanings and a filling. Will be certain to go back regularly. They also had an oral surgeon look at my teeth even though he didn't have an opening. Can't recommend them highly enough!
