Experiencia negativa: My husband and I were patients of Dr. Gabby's, we recently started seeing her after being referred by a friend. We absolutely loved the experience and we're happy to recommend her to others. During my last appointment, I had a very awkward experience. Apparently a new dentist was training a new hygienist. He entered the room, did not introduce himself, and started cleaning my teeth. At the time I thought he was a hygienist but it turns out he was the actual doctor. He completed a very mediocre cleaning, did not bother to floss my teeth, and proceeded to get up and leave. I was confused by the entire experience as it was very different than before. I asked the front desk about the change only to be told Dr. Gabby would be back in a few months. I decided to wait it out but every time I called I was told she'd be coming back soon and I should see the other Dr.Eventually between the lack of customer service with the front desk and the experience with the dentist we decided to move on. I recently discovered that Dr. Gabby is in the city at her other location but per her contract cannot see anyone that was a Bloomingdale patient. It's a shame that people will lose such a great Dr. due to contract logistics. Finding quality care is difficult to begin with but to be hindered by an unreasonable non,-compete is ridiculous. If you are looking for the service you were accustomed to, you won't be getting it.

Today a different dentist hygienist cleaned my teeth, Eunice, and she was very gentle and caring! She periodically checked in to see if everything felt okay and told me where she was cleaning next. She also flossed the metal bar behind my teeth, which nobody has done before or told me to do when flossing. If you are looking for a great atmosphere with an even better cleaning experience, I recommend Blooming Smiles! Thank you Eunice!

Experiencia fantástica: I had such an amazing experience today that I was planning on writing a review—but felt an urgency after reading two recent racist reviews of Dr Fayek! How incredibly disappointing to see such ugliness and lack of humanity—I’m appalled at those reviews that speak nothing of his care or skill level. —- I’ve been under the care of another dentist and experiencing intermittent pain for the last couple of months which became severe last week. I do not live in bloomingdale, so I made an appt with a dr in Rockford and the soonest they could get me in for a root canal is this upcoming Tuesday—and I’ve tried to manage the pain with Tylenol, antibiotics and clove oil but it became so painful I started looking for emergency care out of town. I found blooming smiles on Google and feel so incredibly lucky that they were open and had an opening today. Dr Fayek was incredibly kind and patient and thoughtful in terms of the diagnostics and treatment plan. I ended up getting a root canal and extraction and am out of level 10 pain and feel eternally grateful. My father, a veteran oral surgeon of 50+ years saw the X-rays and was really impressed with Dr Fayek’s diagnostics and gave his stamp of approval. I plan on moving all future care for me and my family to this office! Thank you to the Dr and staff for staying late today (after closing) to give me care and complete relief of the debilitating pain I’ve been experiencing.

I went back to see what the problem was, and it turns out that I now need surgery, which they don't want to take responsibility for because of the damage they caused.

Both times had a male Pakistan dentist. Didn't know I was seeing this new dentist. Was not informed by the staff I was being treated by this different dentist. I did not like the cleanings we had and did not like this guy. His bed side manner was not good and I left unhappy with services. My sons cleaning was rushed and felt hurried to get us out of there. Then I had cleaning and same thing rushed and they didn't scrape tartar off my teeth. My teeth didn't feel clean. Extremely disappointed both visits! Now I'm searching for new dentist and will not be returning to that office.

Experiencia negativa: Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent (and pretty frustrating) experience at Blooming Smiles. Back in late March, I went in for a loose crown. I was told I just needed a new one, so I paid $670 for it. Done. ✅ Fast forward a few months and something still didn’t feel right. Instead of fully addressing the crown, they insisted it was “just my gums” and kept telling me the crown itself was “perfectly fine.” That’s the most frustrating part — I was repeatedly reassured that everything was okay when it clearly wasn’t. After pushing for a third time in one week for them to re-check it, they finally applied light pressure… and the crown popped right off, revealing the tooth underneath was badly decayed the whole time. Now I’m needing an implant for something I was told was “fine” just days ago. To me, this feels extremely misleading. I paid for a crown that never had a chance because the tooth beneath it was already compromised. On top of that, another tooth was initially misdiagnosed and now also needs a crown. My new dentist couldn’t believe it!!! I called to request a refund and still waiting for a call back.. I left a Yelp review and got a call a couple hours later - It genuinely feels like real action was only taken after I left a Yelp review, which is upsetting on its own. I also noticed that when viewing their reviews outside of the Yelp app, only the positive reviews are visible — the negative ones only show when using the app. I have screenshots and will be attaching them. I’m sharing this because I truly don’t want anyone else to go through the same thing. Trust your instincts, and if something doesn’t feel right, please get a second opinion.

He told me I would have to pay for the cleaning which made me have to disclose aloud in reception area that I have enhanced insurance and because I am a cancer patient I am allowed ; cleanings 4 times a year. This is uncomfortable to talk about and I should not have had to divulge that information again especially in a public setting. Either notate my file or if it is notated review it before you greet me. Other than that it was fine.

Experiencia positiva: Had an appointment for 6 months cleaning appointment but they insisted I get my X-ray for each time, I denied to take X-rays because of radiation but they told me they cannot serve me and ask me me to go home. I took time off just to come for cleaning and now with the new doctors in the facility they are not willing to serve without the x-ray. So just be prepared to waste your time if you denied the x-ray.

Experiencia negativa: This is a decent dentist, but be prepared to wait an hour before you see the Dentist. She is only in this office 2x a week as well so it’s very hard to make an appointment. She tries to see everyone at the same time while she’s here so you’ll be waiting an hour while she makes her rounds. Also, had to call a few times to make an appointment as they don’t check their answering machine. Other than that, the dental work has been good so far! I had a filling & porcelain overlay done. The filling chipped but they fixed it right away. I just hate sitting here for hours waiting.. They can schedule the appointments better. I’m literally in the chair waiting still while I write this.. because I have nothing else to do. My appointment was at 1030 am & I was done at 12:10. The dentist spent about 35 mins with me & the rest of the time was just waiting while she was seeing multiple customers. Looking for a new dentist after this, because my time is valuable too. I understand some dentist see multiple people at once, but over a 30 minute wait is where I draw the line. **UPDATE** After seeing the Drs response to my post, I felt I should share that Dr Gabriela actually emailed me & asked me to TAKE DOWN this review which I thought was super awkward, esp because I had to go in & fix my bite the next day.. which I still feel it’s off but might just have to take the L & go to a new dentist because I feel awkward going back at this point… so I removed 1 star I told Dr Gabriela that this was not my first experience with a long wait & said sorry but this was an “honest” review. Also I did NOT have an emergency appointment like the response says & I was only promptly seen & accommodated AFTER the dentist saw this review & wanted me to take it down. I just had a bite adjustment which was what she was doing with my porcelain overlay to begin with & she did not finish it because she wanted my numbness to wear off first (even after I said my bite was off). I can say AFTER this review, I was in & out of there in 10 mins for my bite adjustment!

Experiencia negativa: Worst service- made a new patient appt and gave insurance info two weeks prior. When i got there, apparently they never worked out anything with the insurance and told me to reschedule. Really bad service. Insurance info should all be dealt with ahead of time. I have PPO and it shouldn’t have mattered but it is their responsibility to ran the insurance before I commute.

However the only reason why this place is not 5 stars for me is because of the secretary in the front desk. Every time that I have an appointment she is extremely disrespectful and mean. If I would write all the times that she didn’t treat me well this review would be way too long. The biggest problem I have is that they have canceled on me three times, day-of. I’ve explained to them that I can only come to the dentist on my workdays and I live far and need to takeoff work so I’ve repeatedly asked them to please let me know in advance if they need to cancel. They never do. On top of that they have never apologize for the inconvenience and whenever I try to express my frustrations they are not accommodating, instead they are very rude and make it seem like it’s my fault. They do a great job as far as their work but customer service goes a long way and it is sometimes just as important.

I came in for my appointment and my insurance had changed since my last appointment, and the person at the front desk told me that they wouldn't be able to verify my insurance today. I have never had this issue before here. Now I have to find a new dentist who has staff that is able to verify insurance the same day that I come in for my appointment. I came in to get a severe toothache treated, and now I'm going to continue to be in pain until I find a new dentist. I'm really disappointed Gabriela.
