Experiencia fantástica: I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. John! He went out of his way to help my 1-year-old daughter when something became stuck in her gums. It was after hours, and even though he had somewhere he needed to be, he took the time to help us. He was incredibly professional, kind, patient, and caring. You could truly tell that he cared about helping my daughter and making sure she was okay. The office was also very welcoming, clean, and comfortable. We are so grateful for the compassion and kindness Dr. John showed our family. Thank you for going above and beyond when we needed help the most! ❤️

Experiencia fantástica: We are so grateful for Dr. Jon, our kids have had a wonderful experience at Purple Tooth. We drove 30 mins to come here for a second opinion and we didn’t regret to let Dr. Jon treat our kids. Before we came to Purple Tooth, we went to another pediatric dentist near our house in Gastonia and they insisted that our kids need to be sadated for some fillings and SDF treatment. On top of that, they were not thorough with me about my kids’ treatment plans, what they told me did not match up with what the treatment plans showed. My gut was telling me something was not right. So I reached out to Purple Tooth and was happy to hear that they could do a Limited Exam for us since we have insurance. After Dr. Jon examined the kids, he told me that they don’t need sedation at all, he can do the procedure in less than 1 hour with the laughing gas. That’s the confidence and professionalism he has. Dr. Jon also found a tooth on my son that was infected deep down to the root and needs to be extracted, while the other dentist in Gastonia missed it even with the x-rays. I would have spent thousands $$$$ at the other dentist for my kids’ treatments with anesthesia, but I went with Purple Tooth for much more affordable cost with no anesthesia. My advice to parents is, please listen to your guts and always seek for a second opinion when you feel something is not right.

The dentist was very personable and gentle when performing the lip and tongue tie procedure for my newborn. He was quick, made sure to answer all questions, thoroughly went through the post op exercises, and offered natural remedies to help alleviate the pain.

Each nurse has her own touch of silly and respond well to all our questions. Not to mention the "mom room" or calming corner with the best message chair I have ever sat in!!!!! I truly appreciate an office that cover every aspect!!! Bonus, the Dr is super great too, not pushy on extra stuff but knows how to formulate a plan for prevention or working with issues. I promise I'm not paid but may have been influenced by the message chair just a bit!!! We've been coming for years and will continue ☺️

My son needed extractions and, because of his braces, the process seemed complicated—but Dr. Jon was able to do everything without removing them, saving us a lot of time and stress. Everything was quick and efficient, and they took care of the referral and all the paperwork. We’re truly grateful for their care. Plus, the Mario decor made the visit even more fun for my son!

They were so comfortable and everyone was so friendly especially throughout the appointment. I am so glad they are now established patients. The office manager also was very friendly when scheduling my girls and had excellent understanding while making sure they were taken care of. And they are so gentle and understanding and willing to work with parents and meet you where you're at. I suffer from pretty bad anxiety that I try to to project on my kids, and they are just as gentle and caring towards me as they are my kids. I wouldn't take my family anywhere else!

Experiencia negativa: We had a great first impression. The staff was kind and made my son feel comfortable. However, our experience became frustrating during treatment. We were told he needed a retainer before braces and moved forward, investing a significant amount. Shortly after finishing, his teeth shifted back to their original position. When we returned, we were told he needed the treatment again, and only then was it mentioned that unless he corrects his tongue posture, his teeth will continue to shift. This was never explained upfront. It’s concerning to be sold the same treatment twice without addressing the underlying issue first. When I raised these concerns, I didn’t receive a clear response or follow-up. I would encourage other families to ask detailed questions about long-term outcomes before starting treatment. While the office is warm and friendly, our experience raised serious concerns about transparency and treatment planning.

The waiting area had plenty of toys and what nots for the kids. Just overall great experience all around. Edit: Still an amazing experience! Blows my mind how efficient these professionals are. A quick beginning to ending, but the best part is, the whole trip from start to finish! From the movies, the decorations, cleanliness, gifts, the smiles to even the coins at the end... how could I forget the relaxation room with Massage Chair! Just an overall great experience from the kiddos to the parents, I appreciate it and keep up the great work all!

Experiencia fantástica: Went for my daughter’s tongue and lip tie revision at a week old and was very pleased with the care we received. Jonathan was very thorough when examining her and did a fantastic job explaining the revision process and after care. I am a breastfeeding mama and I will admit it was a bit of an adjustment to get her to latch but after a day or two she got it! Be patient and know that this will benefit them in the long run!

I brought my girls here after having bad experiences at another pediatric dental office- I only mention that because Purple Tooth lives up to their title of pediatric dentistry where the other establishment didn’t. They are kind, patient, and good humored. They also provide full transparency all around. I’ve had clear understanding of everything they’ve done for my children’s dental care. They are respectful to me and to my kids. Financial details are clearly explained and there are no surprises. Eduardo is fantastic at working with kids- he made my daughter laugh and feel at ease when she had to have a filling and she is a tough crowd! I highly recommend this dentistry. Dr. John keep up the excellent work!

Experiencia negativa: Do not go to this dentist. My daughter was referred by Dr. Hartford at Brighthouse Dentistry whom I trusted. Well that's thrown out the window. Took mu daughter in for cavities. Doctor placed 2 crowns in her mouth where she already had several for over 6yrs so im very familiar with the process. She didnt have any teeth pulled but some how he manages to completely rip he gums to where part is pressed between both caps and the other piece is hanging loosely where she cant safely brush her teeth. When I spoke to both practices about the issue Dr. Hart said nothing he can do. Purple tooth tried to convince me to wait until Thursday for to just call to check on her or bring her back after their Christmas party. That party was more important than me having to now take off work with short notice drive a long distance back there so waiting until after it is over while my daughter suffers was the suggestion. They keep calling while Im at work trying to get time off to care for my child and loose money thanks to Purple Tooth and Brighthouse Dentistry. Worse experience ever.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience. My daughter needed a tooth pulled and is normally a bit anxious, but the Dr. talked to her the entire time and she didn't even notice when he pulled it. Staff was very nice and explained everything to me. Bonus, the office is decked out for Halloween and it looked so cute. We will definitely be coming back.

Experiencia fantástica: Purple Tooth is great. They were able to do fillings on the front teeth of my 2 year old where she fell and broke a tooth. Now her smile is back to normal and she loves the themes. Working next to Dr. Jon was a learning experience because of how he manages to understand children and their anxiety at their dental appointments. Guides them to feel secure and leave from their appointment with confidence and happy from a calm and fun dental visit. Using the right time length for patients has never been an issue and working to the best interest of patients has always been important to him as a provider.

Experiencia negativa: Paid $59 for someone to brush my kids teeth 20mins after I had just brushed them. Also the assistant told the dentist that we hadn't been brushing as much as we should...even though I told her we brush every single day. Multiple times on some days. This Dad is pretty upset with the whole situation.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter was referred for oral surgery after being told she would need braces following a routine cleaning—and that’s when everything started to fall apart. I waited weeks for the referred orthodontist’s office to contact me, only to discover that no referral had ever been sent. I followed up with Purple Tooth Dentistry and was given contact information for two providers. I reached out and scheduled a consultation myself, only to show up at the office completely unprepared, forced to act as the go-between for information I wasn’t qualified to provide. Again, weeks went by with no follow-up or assistance. I called Purple Tooth Dentistry and requested new referrals, since the previous offices didn’t accept my child’s insurance. When I asked why their office couldn’t handle the procedure themselves, I was told the surgery was too “intricate” and that they lacked the proper equipment. I was then given yet another list—this time, just names and numbers, leaving me to do all the calling and coordination again. Every office I reached out to had a six-month or longer waitlist. This entire process began back in February, and I have yet to receive meaningful support from the same dental office that originally claimed my daughter urgently needed braces. To make matters worse, one of the oral surgeons they referred me to has since lost his license. It’s absolutely unacceptable that I’ve had to serve as the referral coordinator, instead of being able to focus on my child’s care as a mother. This office has demonstrated a serious lack of communication, accountability, and patient advocacy throughout this ordeal.

Experiencia fantástica: My kids had the BEST first experience. We learned about Purple Tooth dental through my youngest preK school. Blippi showed up to clean those babies teeth! After that, she was hooked! We left our prior dentist to come here. The staff is super friendly. They are very detailed. I didn’t once feel left out of my child’s dental care plan like I have before. Dr. Jon was wonderful. We loved the Moana theme they had going on this month. It was very welcoming and comforting. The parent lounge room was the cherry on top! Diffusers, salt rock lamp, and massage chairs. It was great. The kids are excited to come back!

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing! We searched (after some trauma caused by other dentist)for a great dentist my two boys would love and enjoy and Purple Tooth is that place! My boys love to go to their appointments and never fear being pushed into anything or caused pain (obviously a shot can still pinch but yall know what I mean) they do great work on fillings and cleanings , X-rays and the staff is so friendly and efficient they have great team work and scheduling is in a great timely fashion as well! They do emergency appointments and they offer plans so if don't have dental insurance! My oldest son is getting his expander put in today and braces after the holidays but Dr John is all about the kids taking care of their teeth! Dr John has a way with kids a gift to make them feel at ease and talks them through every step of the way. They have a great free massage chair for the parents to relax during the kids appointments! Also they are only a pediatric dentist FYI

Experiencia positiva: The service is always great. The checkout process could definitely use some improvements. There needs to be a streamline process in place to make the process faster. I have spent a good 10-20 minutes being serviced through checkout. This often leaves myself and the kids agitated and frustrated.

Experiencia negativa: For whatever reason Dr. Jon keeps advising me and my daughter that he will submit her dental records to medicaid to get approved or denied for braces. But he hasn’t and it’s been over a year. Definitely going to get a second opinion.

There is also a full body massage chair for the parents, the level of service the staff provides is top tier! BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED. My 10 year old has braces and he was terrified to get them now he's always excited to go get his colors changed. They are very patient with my 6 year old who is a drama queen and a handful. My 1 year old recently had his first appointment and they did his appointment in their fun room so he was distracted by toys and it made it a lot easier than trying to just hold him down the whole time. They are very good with scheduling all 3 kids at or around the same time so we don't have to make multiple trips which I am grateful for and when my oldest pops a wire on his braces they are always able to see him that day to fix it so his mouth isn't getting cut open. Amazing place for the kids.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting purple tooth and had a great experience! Both of my daughters loved it. They’re 3 and 1. The doctor made them feel very comfortable and was patient. We love how the exam rooms for 3 and under are more welcoming like toy rooms. We will definitely be returning .

My sister loves Dr Jon it was her very 1st experience an about an yearago and she had a blast counting her teeth and getting comfortable with the staff. Everyone made us feel at home and welcomed. The adult.room while waiting I feel is awesome even though I haven't had to go in because my child hasn't had any major procedures. Overall A+ service, highly recommended

Experiencia negativa: I took my kids a couple months ago. They told me my 10 year old needed root canals in the front. They referred me to another location for 2nd opinion and that location did a cleaning instead. I called purple tooth to notify that she wasn’t checked and they told me they would call me that next morning, but didn’t receive a call till weeks later telling me they are calling to schedule my daughters root canal which i was shocked bc that 2nd opinion was never done. There was other red flags from that call that showed they must have not been checking her chart bc how don’t you not know she had her last baby teeth removed on the last visit and telling me she needs this and that done. Looks like all they cared about is getting their money.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely love this place for my children. We have been with a different dentist in Matthews which basically left my youngest hating dentist visits. Purple tooth is very good at distracting her from her fears and keeping her calm, she left with definitely less fear she went in with even said she would go back . My son says he definitely likes purple dental more than the other one I 100% recommend.
