Experiencia fantástica: I am new to Lake St Louis, broke a tooth and needed a dentist. They took me in quickly and have me set up for a crown next week. I am very happy with the entire office. Edit: Today I went back for the crown prep work and now I have a temporary crown in place. I have fibromyalgia, a pain condition that makes any pain more difficult to handle. Dr Poettker did an excellent job with pain control. The whole staff was amazing. I get my permanent crown in a couple weeks and I will have a healthy mouth again. Important because I had a total hip replacement a couple months ago with the next hip to be replaced in January. If your teeth aren't healthy, bacteria can enter the bloodstream and cause a serious infection around the joint. So the Doctor isn't just treating dental problems but preventing me from becoming seriously ill. Thank you to everyone at Lakeside Dental.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent dental checkup. Very detailed including a 3D scan. My hygienist, Carrie, was very gentle and explained every procedure as they were being performed. Dr. Poettker was very thorough and explained every treatment plan. Very satisfied with my visit today. 7-21-25 Another visit ti the dentist today. Needed a crown on #30 molar due to a chipped tooth. The treatment went very well. Dr. Poettker and her assistant were as gentle as possible and kept me comfortable during the entire time. Temporary crown feels great and going back in two weeks for the permanent crown. 8-4-25 Got my new crown today! Took about an hour and everything went great! I'll be back for my routine cleaning in December. 12-8-25 Routine cleaning and X-rays. Carrie was very thorough and did an excellent job. Polishing and fluoride treatment today, as well. Great visit!

Experiencia fantástica: I had an appointment for a deep cleaning this morning and I was dreading it due to a bad experience in the past at another office. Carrie was my hygienist and she was absolutely awesome. She expertly numbed me up and assured me I could ask for more numbing at any time if I started to feel uncomfortable (which was not necessary). She was very gentle but thorough and I appreciate that she didn’t make me feel like the big baby I was probably being.

Experiencia fantástica: Lakeside is a really well run operation with quality service. Appointments are on time and the cleanings are very thorough. The staff is always professional, courteous and caring. They look out for their patients but also are mindful of time and costs, working with patients to get the best care possible at the best price. I have been to a handful of dentists and locations over the years, and Lakeside is clearly one of the best. I know I am in excellent care each time I walk through the door.

I've been several times now, for a cleaning, fillings, and crowns, so I can speak to the consistency of care. Everyone is super nice but I've had Katie as the assistant the last few times and she's so sweet! Very gentle and friendly. The doctor is very knowledgeable and gentle as well. They make sure you aren't in pain and stop as you need. They also make sure you know all costs up front. I've always hated the dentist after a few bad experiences but I feel comfortable at Lakeside.

Experiencia positiva: My daughter had to wait quite a bit of time to get back to see anyone and literally was given 3-5 minutes of the employees time. She is a college student and now has to come back for work. Perhaps if she’d gotten back at the appointment time, the repair could have been made an no further follow up needed! :(

Experiencia negativa: Finding a new lifelong dentist without compromises is not always easy. That was my case with Lakeside Dental, and I am not very picky. I’ll start with my one-and-only appointment. 

I think some dentists forget the fact that dental work can be a huge expense for people with and without insurance. Sure, I would like expert knowledge and service, but friendliness goes a long way and is undoubtedly accounted for in my decision to choose a dental provider. I read great reviews about LD and got a sense from the website of very friendly staff. I also liked the name - It made me think of calmness. Who wouldn’t like to be lakeside while having dental work done? This place does not sit at a lakeside, but rather a regular strip mall. A restaurant at the end has a tiny back portion by a pond. When I initially called, a very quiet, monotone, and not very cheerful person made my appointment. They made the potential fee for no-shows abundantly clear up to the appointment day. 

The lobby was nicely decorated and gave a calm impression. The same woman that initially took my call checked me in, still monotone and grumpy. The dental hygenist was the only great experience here. She was friendly and extremely thorough! Then I was told that the dentist was running late getting to the office. What about lateness and no-shows? Hmm In any case, the dentist showed up before too long. I found her to be standoffish and cold in my first impression. She checked my teeth and almost seemed put out about the potential work. She just got up and left afterward without saying a word to me. No, thank you for choosing her practice... no, nothing. Gee, I guess we are done here? Nice meeting you!

Back to the grumpy receptionist to make a 3-month follow-up appointment. I won’t reward places like this with my business and decided to go elsewhere.

Tammy was my hygienist and took very good care of me. She explained everything and was very gentle. The doctor was friendly and thorough and didn’t make me feel bad for not seeing a dentist for so long. I’ll be going back to get things fixed!
