Experiencia fantástica: Dr Thrasher saved my husband’s teeth. It took a little while, but he got his receding gums under control and healthy again. He had issues for years and couldn’t find a dentist who was concerned about it. Dr Thrasher took action and took care of the issue. We both needed quite a bit of dental work done, like old silver caps & old fillings that needed replaced. They had hidden cavities under them and we had no idea. I get anxious when having dental work performed, so I love and appreciate their sedation dentistry! We are both very pleased with Hillcrest dental & recommend them to anyone who needs good, quality, professional dental care.

Experiencia negativa: They take advantage of people and make you sign up immediately for a credit plan before you even have any work done. My Dad went to have his teeth cleaned and next thing I know they have him signed up for $10,000 payment plan. They made him start paying $250 a month before any work was even done. He just called me and now they took $2500 directly from the only credit card he has to back up his social security, and added an additional $2500 to his Care Credit plan. He was just supposed to get a filling and they pulled his tooth. Don't recommend unless you have extra money available.

Experiencia negativa: Me and my entire family have been going to this dentist since 2018. We never had any issues other than the prices always being a little extreme (I have insurance), but 6 months ago I got a filling that was done incorrectly. Now I went to another dentist that was closer as this one was far and I have to get another filling in the SAME PLACE because bacteria got under the original filling. Now I have to pay for the same thing twice. Also, over the past few months, there has been a lot of changes in personal in the office and they have been changing the prices every time I call, office ladies don’t listen that I lived far and could not have an appointment last minute, AND I was told I needed a root canal when in fact I did not. Highly disappointed and irritated that my family and I have spent so much money just for things to be done incorrectly.

The staff was very very nice and thorough in the things they needed to do prior to me seeing Dr. Thrasher. And one of the first things Dr. Thrasher told me was that implants may not be needed and my teeth and smile could possibly be fixed and restored in other ways. This was a welcomed response. Dr. Thrasher was very friendly and personable. We’ll see where the next steps takes us but I am strongly encouraged. Even though I have only seen him one time so far, I would highly recommend him to others.

Experiencia negativa: I asked for “worst case scenario “ for pricing for procedure. Paid upfront what I was told would be my responsibility (over 3000). Then about 6 months later received a bill for additional $ 733. When call office to resolve/complain, was told that I although I made it clear that I needed to know the cost BEFORE procedure, and that they had a method for doing that , the staff member choice not to. Since it was not mentioned in her notes that I had asked for cost prior to procedure, there was no proof that I had asked.

Experiencia fantástica: From a guy that would rather have a broken arm than go to the dentist, I have to give top kudos to Hillcrest Dental. This was my first dental appointment in a couple of years, and Riley the hygienist, made my appointment very pleasant - she was friendly, patient, knowledgable and generous with her time in doing what we needed to do. This included taking x-rays of various types and a cleaning. Riley clearly was knowledgable about how to use the different x-ray machines as well as the cleaning tools, most of which I had not seem before. I accepted the opportunity to have some nitrous oxide (I think that's what it is, also called "laughing gas") to chill out for the procedure, and halfway through I thought I can do without the gas on subsequent visits since it was well done and no need for anxiety about it. Once the cleaning was finished and some notes made, Dr. Thrasher came in to review the x-rays and notes, understand what I wanted out of the teeth and discuss next steps. As a former corporate guy, I was impressed by the efficiency and also the courtesy that was exhibited. All this goodness is wrapped in a very tasteful Western-themed building. I am compelled to give Hillcrest Dental five stars - they earned it and are worth serious consideration by those shopping for a dentist.

Experiencia negativa: This was a preliminary exam to have this bad tooth pulled by the oral surgeon - a crown that was done poorly 5 years ago. The staff was great, professional, courteous. Dr. Thrasher explained the X-rays, what was going on with other teeth. Showed me that an abscess has started, some infection. And he gently put some pressure on the crown and said Yes it was loosening but should be ok until I come back for the extraction. It as all helpful to that point. And we chatted and then when I thought we were done he put his thumb on the tooth one more time and just pressed down hard on it for no imaginable reason. I said That hurts! and he just said, Oh did that hurt? No warning, no: "tell me if this is uncomfortable...". He'd already found infection, already checked the stability of he crown. What possible reason? Yes and it still hurts. So four days later what was manageable pain is now really painful. What was an annoying situation was becoming an emergency. Obviously I'll move on but, no, it's Memorial Day weekend. No chance of finding anyone till next week. So I get to spend the long weekend with a bad headache, aching jaw and swollen neck, eating soft food and Advils.

Experiencia negativa: I came to Hillcrest for a regular clean up as my first visit, and I was excited to see all of the positive reviews. The staff were all considerate and welcoming, and everything went smoothly until the dentist came in. The dental hygienist had taken pictures of my teeth, and showed me one of the pictures which had a tiny black dot and said "this turned out to just be seasoning, I was a little worried it was a cavity" before laughing and continuing. When the dentist came in, he did not look inside my mouth once (maybe this is standard practice now?) and the dental hygienist made a point to point out that same black dot to him and say "I think this is a cavity." Before I knew it, the dentist recommended I get a filling on ALL of my molars, which sent me into a panic. I have never had any teeth issues and pride myself on good oral hygiene, so I was shocked, but I understood that sometimes things happen. They immediately took me to the financial aid office where the office worker showed me a bill for over $1300 and asked that I set up my appointment to get the operations. I politely denied, but they insisted that they try the mouth gear on me that is required for the operation. After leaving, I felt in my gut that something was wrong. Today I got back from visiting another dentist in town, and he told me not only do I not have any cavities or need any fillings, the cleanings that had been done were subpar. He was shocked to see that no scaling had been performer on my teeth. I love a comfortable dentist office, but I can't stand for bankrupting people with unnecessary procedures.

Experiencia negativa: My husband came in for what was advertised to us as a “free” consultation for upper implants. They tried to sell us the idea to have the bottom teeth pulled as well and add bottom implants for a godly cost of $64K. I had a disapproving expression on my face. His assistant leaned toward my husband with her hand on his shoulder and stared at me while asking my husband, “But will you be happy with a better smile?” Needless to say we chose another dentist. Also to mention, they gave us the quote on a sticky pad of paper. Not a true breakdown of the detailed cost. To make matters worse, we received a bill in the mail for $125. Wait, this consultation was supposed to be free with no obligation. My husband called them about the bill. They said they would look into it and would call him back. No call, not corrected. I do not trust this company. The dentist we chose to go with charged us 2/3 of the cost this company was going to charge and are very professional and honest.
