Experiencia fantástica: I needed a filling on a front tooth and they made room for me to have it repaired. A great team with Dr Alan and his assistant Mary. They worked in precision. This a a great practice. The team out front handling reception and billing were Excellant, especially Sheree. She is a gem, also the other staff in that area.

Experiencia negativa: My friend had the worst experience at this place. The office made a mistake with the kind of visit my friend requested due to limited dental insurance coverage. Despite communicating this clearly, the office mishandled the scheduling, and when the insurance ultimately declined coverage, the staff were extremely rude, inflexible, and unwilling to take responsibility for their error or work toward a reasonable resolution. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, leaving my friend with an unexpected bill for a situation that could have been avoided with proper communication and attention to detail. There was no compassion or kindness in the hearts of these people including the doctor, and I witnessed it all with what my friend had to go through because of that. While my friend chose not to speak publicly about the matter, I believe the experience raises concerns that potential patients deserve to know about before seeking care at this office.

Experiencia negativa: The receptionist was friendly and did her job very well. I had two dental hygienist at this appointment. The 1st one handled my X-rays, 2nd one did my cleaning. Both were very nice and professional. The dentist didn't make me feel very comfortable, and he wasn't as nice as the rest of the people that work there.

Had a great cleaning experience after a year plus from my last visit. Both hygienist and dentist were kind and patient despite my far from stellar flossing. Dr Chi was also thorough, asking questions to confirm what she was seeing. Melanie, the hygienist was very thorough and gentle. Loved my cleaning with Andrea. She was thorough, gentle and efficient. She also gave explanations to things she observed to help me understand and provide better insight to helping care for my teeth and mouth better

Experiencia negativa: Cancelled my cleaning twice in a row. Each time next appointment was months in the future and I was only notified of the cancellation by email. Front desk staff and hygienists are friendly and great, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen the same dentist twice. Feels like a revolving door.

Experiencia fantástica: I had broken a tooth and 1st advantage dental got me in very quickly. I was seen right away and recommendations were made to get a crown. They took care of it right away after going through the process of preparing my tooth for the temporary crown. So far so good and will get my new permanent crown in just a few weeks.

Cherie, Vanessa and Dr. Li were so very pleasant, welcoming and professional, that my fears were totally relieved. One cavity under an existing filling and one crown. Not as bad as I expected. And they are going to straighten the crooked tooth that has been bothering me since I moved with invisalign. I am so happy we selected 1st Advantage Dental in Amherst. Highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: I could write a book on how awful this place is, in every way: staffing, quality of care, bedside manner, billing errors, appointment cancellations, minimum 4 months to be seen (and right before your appointment comes, they might reschedule you to 6 months from then & for the wrong procedure), no accountability. A summary of my last few visits: they chipped one of my front teeth near the gum line, improperly fit a crown so I couldn’t bite down properly (took 2 visits to fix), offered me a 2nd deep cleaning at no cost (“because the last one wasn’t done properly”—their words) and that 2nd cleaning was rescheduled 2x on their part and once I got in the chair, they couldn’t even finish the job because I wasn’t properly numbed after 3 injections! Everyone I know who has come through here has told me similar things. As I wrote this review—they sent me an automated text asking me to confirm my upcoming appointment that THEY cancelled. Drive to the other side of the state if you want proper care.

They notably also do not accept Mass Health, so expect to pay $300+ for a cleaning and x-rays. Check to see if they take your insurance before booking an appointment.

Dr. Allen was kind and walked me through everything so I felt comfortable with the painless process. His assistant Mary has a calm demeanor that puts you at ease. Everyone I came into contact with from the friendly front desk staff to all the providers were professional, knowledgeable and supportive.
