She always gives us good advices. I really recommend this place if you are looking for first dentist for your little children. You can trust her, she will keep your children have beautiful teeth :)

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely horrible experience. My son ended up in the emergency room due to a botched filling they did. My son was newly 3 at the time and did a great job sitting in the chair while they were filling his cavity, a procedure even adults don’t enjoy having done. During the procedure the dental assistant (or hygienist not sure how to tell the difference) got up during the procedure when she was holding the suction device which allowed water to get into the cavity she was actively filling. This eventually lead to a very scary infection that had to be dealt with at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She knew it was messed up when she was doing it because she got upset with her assistant and said “now I have to start over!” But she never actually did. This happened a few years ago and was very traumatic for our family. I honestly forgot I had originally left a positive review after our initial cleaning appointment but felt that it was important to leave an updated review that truly reflects the awful and dangerous experience that we had. She also said my older son had 8 cavities and my younger son had 6! I couldn’t believe it as we have a very good home care routine. I asked her what I could do other than brushing and flossing twice daily and her response was, “do you let them eat snacks between meals? Because they should be brushing their teeth after each time they eat” First of all anyone with kids knows that of course they eat snacks! And that there’s nothing excessive about a snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. At childcare facilities it’s legally required to provide these snack opportunities as it’s important for their development . It’s also completely unrealistic to have them take a toothbrush with them everywhere they go to brush after anytime they eat something which is what she was implying the cause was. I truly believe she was being dishonest about the actual situation in my kid’s mouths and was just trying to make money because after our horrible experience we went to a different practice and low and behold neither of my boys had a single cavity. We chose this practice based on the positive reviews but they basically harass you for days following your visit to leave one which is why they have WAY more reviews than other practices. Choose someone else!!!!!!! Update to their response: this account has my maiden name which isn’t associated with my kids and is why they are claiming this never happened rather than taking ownership. Could very easily post photos of my son in the chair at their office and another a few weeks later at the hospital with his face completely swollen due to the tooth infection but won’t to respect his privacy.

Experiencia negativa: Heard great things about this place and decided to give it a shot. The dentist was always late in getting to us (We’d have to wait 30-45 minutes after our scheduled appointment time to be seen). When our daughter was 3 we had a procedure done. This required anesthesia and they recommended propofol. From the research I’ve done, this is very dangerous for kids! Not only that, my daughter’s implants fell off after 2 weeks. Spent good money to have work done and was very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Experiencia negativa: Update: I read the reply and I call bs on that. If I was late in cancelling several times previously -which I wasn't - why did I never receive a $50 bill? Why did no one ever tell me I had late cancellation fees? That's the policy, no? A $50 fee? When I called a few weeks ago appointments were made for all 3 of my kids and not 1 mention of "oh, hey we show you owe us several late cancellation fees" Nothing. Never have I EVER been told that. Now suddenly I supposedly have had "several times" I cancelled late? Nope. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE PEOPLE. I've been taking my kids here for a pretty long time...and even though there are LONG wait times after the scheduled time - as in HOURS long wait times AFTER the scheduled time - the dentist seemed nice, so I came here. I called a few weeks ago and scheduled an appointment for my kids. Later, I had to cancel their appointments due to them being ill. I called the morning before they had an appointment and cancelled for the late morning appointment the next day. Pretty sure it was the dentist I spoke with. She said no problem just call back when they're better. So today I called back to re-schedule for my kids, and pretty sure it was the dentist again, who I spoke with, and after she looks up my kids profiles she then says "Looks like you cancelled within the 24 hour cancellation period...looks like for multiple kids, multiple times..." I told her I hadn't and asked if I had supposedly cancelled multiple times within their 24 hour period why did no one say anything previously?" Then she's just like "yeaaah..." Not even answering my question. So I just told her we'd find another dentist and hung up. If I supposedly cancelled multiple times, within the 24 hour period before, why was an appointment made for me a few weeks ago? And I know when my kids got sick I called in the morning before. I know it was the morning. And the appointment was at 11 am. I shouldn't have settled for a dentist because they seemed nice, but who makes you wait hours after your appointment. I even witnessed once, one of the the last times I was there, a family walk out because they had been there BEFORE me and my child but they called me 1st. When the people brought it to the staff members attention that they had already been there waiting a few hours, and I also pointed out that they had been there already, when I walked in, the staff person just told them they'd have to wait and took my child back. I witnessed the family get up and leave. It felt uncomfortable and I felt bad because they had been there before us and had already been waiting a few hours. That incident and waiting hours after a scheduled appointment to have the dentist work on my kids teeth were red flags. I understand there is only 1 dentist, and for some they are willing to wait. Like myself, I found it annoying, but this dentist is close to where I live and seemed friendly. But I now realize it's pretty unprofessional to make people waits hours after a scheduled time and then I'm not happy about being told that I had supposedly cancelled within their 24 hour period multiple times. I look forward to finding a dentist who keeps their scheduled appointments and doesn't make you wait hours after a scheduled appointment. And I know there are dentists who perform anesthesia on kids and still keep the scheduled times because that's what our previous dentist did. They were just further away. My advice to people is to skip this place, unless you like getting unexpectedly hit with fees for supposedly cancelling appointments before the 24 hour period, waiting hours after the scheduled appointment time for your child to be seen (sometimes if your appointment is 1st thing in the morning, you can get in right away BUT not always the case. When I brought my kids in to be put under for fillings the average time for everything to be finished was 3-4 hours) and lastly, having someone who came in AFTER you getting to go in BEFORE you. Look at the other negative reviews. People are complaining about being seen late.

My 3 year old was terrified. We'll be finding a new practice. Two stars since the dentist was fine (but that's about 10% of the visit).

Experiencia negativa: We just had the worst dental experience to date with our 4 year old. We had been referred there to potentially have a couple teeth removed. By the time the dentist showed up 45 min after the assigned appointment, she went straight into the fact that she has 8 cavities and they all need to be filled. Her first suggestion was to put my 4 year old under anesthesia to fill all the cavities at once and pull the two teeth. My main issue at the time was that she did all of this in the middle of the room with 3 other families. We asked to go back to the room to discuss, she agreed, but when after 5 min she still wasn't there I went out to find her working on another child. I don't know if they are over booked or just lack of care. After all of that, they over billed us. If you have another option, take it.

Experiencia negativa: This dental office is a zero responsibility office. They serve patients every day and claim that they did not know that most insurance companies require referrals for children past a particular age limit. Now that insurance has refused their claim, they say the problem is entirely the fault and responsibility of the patient's family and refuse to reduce the bill even 1 penny. I can only imagine what will happen when a zero responsibility pediatric dental office makes mistakes practicing dentistry on children. They will only know to place blame on the child and never on themselves.

Dr Chang and her staff fit us in right before their lunchtime for pain relief and X-rays to give us piece of mind. Even though they were doing us a tremendous favor they never made it seem that way. I cannot recommend this dentist and her pediatric dental practice enough!! Thank you Dr Chang and staff❣️

The staff and the Dentist were all very nice and good at what they do and gave me great advice on how to keep my daughters teeth healthy. I'm looking forward to our next visit. Experiencia negativa: Sunshine pediatric dental couldn't sort out a billing issue with my insurance company (I have full dental coverage) and had me sued by collections. I offered to pay out of pocket after being sued, and they told me it was too late. Had to pay $636 for a $218 visit despite having full insurance coverage. A dental office should know how to deal with insurance, not put the cost to families. This business resorts to suing members of their community, and inflicting 3x the cost on them. Would think twice unless you like spending time on the phone with insurance companies or getting served papers at your home by a debt collector from Tukwila. * In response to owner comment below. You called my wife, not me (I am the policy holder). We get scam calls regularly, and expect insurance to cover our dental bills. Insurance also called my wife for some reason. According to court documents I was given, your collections agency actually doesn't hold the debt, they're suing on your behalf, and I'm stuck paying your $400 lawyer fees to recover a $200 debt, with the only alternative being spending my time in court. You are a Pediatric dental office, this means that you are providing a service to busy people with young kids. You should deal with your billing issues with insurance rather than send collections to the homes of people with young children extorting them and their valuable time to pay 3x the cost of a covered visit.

The doctor has been the most consistently wonderful over the last 7+ years and knows my dauggter and her strugfles with dental very well. My daughter will soon be too old for this facility and it saddens me greatly that we will have to move her to an "adult" dentist. Dr.Chang and her staff are warm and welcome to us, they check the teeth with care and detaily. Always inform the kid what they are going to do, I really appreciated that. Experiencia fantástica: My 7 year old is autistic. They did great with calming her and coming up with a treatment plan.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter was the first patient of the morning but there was already trash in the lobby with no trash can. They took bitewings of my daughter, but not any PAs even though her only adult teeth are in the front, so we didn't get any images of those important new teeth. Then, because of the open layout of the treatment area, I had a full view of the schedule on the computer, which is how I know we were the first patients. When the doctor reviewed my daughter's xrays with me, she pulled them up on the same computer with another child's parent just a yard away with complete view of the computer. While my child is only 6, I see no reason why HIPAA and her privacy isn't any more important than anyone else's. After the visit, which was about 15 minutes, we then waited even longer than the visit itself to get the treatment plan. Over all, I was not impressed.

Front desk, nurse and doctor were friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely have them as our main pediatric dentistry. Great service. Thanks! The waiting room had plenty sitting space, some kids furniture without toys that were probably removed due to Covid precautions. But some activity wall would be great in this case. They were able to get us in immediately and repair her tooth to the point that you can't even tell! We were there until 7pm and everyone was compassionate and professional making sure she felt OK with every step. She went in crying and embarrassed of her smile and left as happy as could be smiling and laughing.

Ms. Tara was very helpful and friendly. She explained the procedure and comforted me when I had a breakdown because my son was put under anesthesia. This was my nephews first official dental visit and they helped him to enjoy his first visit, he left excited about his dentist. I certainly recommend .

Experiencia positiva: My son needed to have a tooth pulled it was the second crown to fall out of his mouth from this place, so they decided to just pull the tooth as well as fill 2 cavities. He is 5 years old so they said they had to put him to sleep with anesthesia in order to do the work in his mouth, which I totally understand.. the reason I’m only giving 3 stars was because you can’t eat or drink anything starting at midnight the night before and the appointment had to be booked at 11 so it was already gonna be a challenge for my son and I (cranky hungry) we arrived on time actually 15 mins early.. he finally got called back over an hour past his appointment time, still no food or drink.. my poor little guys was crying from hunger pains by the time the appointment started.. everything went well as far as the appointment but afterwards. We were hurried out due to another appointment, my son was still dead wait in my arms and half asleep I felt very rushed out the door.. I feel like they need to do better with time management.. other than that they are great!!

He had a teeth cleaning AND flossing and tolerated it all. I was so proud! They have a nice kid environment that I think helps put the little ones at ease. The receptionist, tech and Dr were all super professional and supportive of a nervous parent and it was just overall a wonderful experience.
