Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Cho has been my dentist for 8 years. I think that says something about his work as I am suspicious of healthcare professionals attempting to make money off me for unnecessary work. My experience has always been pleasant with him and the staff. There have been times where I had a small cavity and he suggested to keep an eye on it, rather than a filling. He has a reasonable approach to his practice and does not do unessential procedures. It is rare to find a dentist like this and I always recommend him to family and friends.

Connie gave me the push I needed, and Dr. Cho was so skilled and gentle. My teeth have never been in better shape. He is 100% great! Huge thanks to the front desk staff too—they're always quick to respond, make scheduling appointments a breeze, and were so accommodating when my baby get fuzzy. Highly recommend this clinic! best dentist I can ever hope for!

Experiencia negativa: WORST DENTAL EXERIENCE I visited a dentist for my 3 year old son based on my PCP's advice to discuss his snoring and teeth grinding. The dentist arrived without greeting or speaking, merely examining my son who at the the time was scared to open his mouth. He then left and instructed his assistant to clean his teeth. The assistant did so and then asked us to leave. The dentist never returned or spoke to me to address my concerns, so I didn't get a chance to discuss anything. My son has a visible cavity on his front tooth, which he noticed I had ask to ask about that. she then went to ask the dentist. However, the dentist did not bother to talk to me personally and merely said that there's little he can do and recommended waiting six months to see if it worsens. I was literally out in 5 mins

Experiencia negativa: Do not come to this office! They are dishonest. I had periodontal maintenance (deep cleaning) done here on May 27, 2025. The entire procedure was completed in a single one-hour session. However, they later submitted insurance claims as if the treatment had been performed in two separate sessions on two different days. A few months later, I visited another dental office and realized how poor the service I received here actually was. When I reviewed my insurance claim records, I discovered the duplicate billing. I filed a complaint with my insurance company, but this office provided “documentation” falsely claiming the procedures were done across two separate visits. Absolutely dishonest. Do not come here.

Experiencia negativa: Quoted me 85 dollars for a set of bitewing radiographs over the phone, when I arrived for the scheduled appointment was told it would be 150. I walked away on the principle of the issue, wasted an hour of my time. Edit - I did not ask for a consult, nor did I want one. I asked for exactly what I wanted, which was a set of X rays. When probed on the reason why I wanted the X rays, I said it was to confirm a diagnosis from another dentist. I was not given the option to get X rays without a consult, which I would have happily done, as that was exactly what I wanted....

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Dentistar for 5+ years and over the span of that time, I never had a problem with Dr.Cho or any of the workers there. The receptionist always greeted me with a warm welcome and always upfront with my insurance details. Great job!!

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT COME HERE. This place is shady beyond belief. Dr. Cho is apparently the only dentist in the office, except he spends a whole lot of time chatting with the receptionist instead of dentisting. I had a long wait while he worked on someone else, which is fine, understandable. When he finally came to me, he said absolutely nothing, didn’t answer a single question, poked around my mouth for a grand total of maybe 90 seconds while speaking in cryptic dentist code to his assistant, and then vanished to chit-chat Then the assistant swoops in and tells me I have seven cavities. SEVEN!! Out of nowhere! No explanation, no images, no nothing, Then they hustled me to book a follow-up two days later where they were going to put me down for local anesthesia. Like, that was an attempt. When I asked for my records to get a second opinion, they tried to charge me $49 for a record release. I've never had that happen before, and I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I went anyway to get a second opinion, and zero cavities. Just two teeth to keep an eye on but that shoudn't be a problem because I have good dental hygiene. So, unless you want getting scammed by this quack, avoid Dr. Cho. He would point at some dark spot in your mouth and yell CAVITY! This entire situation was quite ridiculousness but please be cautious and self aware.

Experiencia negativa: The positive ratings for this office are misleading and do not reflect the quality of service I experienced. They seem to be removing the negative reviews. From the start, the front desk gave contradictory information about payment and repeatedly misspelled my name despite multiple corrections. The dentist never introduced himself, and there was zero effort to create an open dialogue. When I asked for clarification on “incipients” found during my check-up, the only response I received was, “incipients are cavities”—no explanation, no discussion of treatment options, and no effort to ensure I understood the situation. When I requested an itemized bill for a $110 initial consultation, what I received was a vague “look and see” entry with no dental codes, no breakdown, and no clear explanation. Even MassHealth representatives were baffled by the lack of professionalism and transparency in the documentation. On top of that, I was told that my insurance wouldn’t cover care because I had a prior consultation at a different clinic—something MassHealth and most other dental insurances do not restrict. This raises concerns about whether patients are being misled into paying out of pocket unnecessarily. (Your guess is as good as mine but call insurance to double check any unknown charges) I understand that dentists juggle multiple patients, and I don’t expect luxury treatment, but clear communication, accurate billing, and basic respect are not optional in healthcare. This office failed on every front. Experiencia negativa: I had a very frustrating and unprofessional experience at this office with Dr. Cho. I went in for a filling in late August, but shortly afterward, I developed severe gum pain. When I returned, I was told that my tooth was cracked and no longer savable. I was only given two options: complete removal with an implant or a deep cleaning to see if it would resolve itself. When I asked for an after-visit summary or any documentation regarding my diagnosis, Dr. Cho made me feel uncomfortable by questioning why I needed it. This made the whole experience even more unpleasant. I eventually had to go to the front desk to request my medical records, and only then did Dr. Cho refer me to a periodontist, who, unfortunately, doesn’t even take my insurance. Now I’m stuck in severe pain, unable to eat properly, but luckily I found a provider who is willing to give me a second opinion. I’m still stuck and confused as to how a simple filling appointment could lead to a crack in my tooth. I have never had any issues with my teeth aside from the typical wisdom tooth extraction. I’ve been to many dental offices and only went here because it was next door to me. I’m beyond disappointed with the lack of customer service and professionalism here. If you don’t want to waste your time, I would not recommend this office to anyone based on my experience.

Experiencia fantástica: My dentist for 3 years. Best dental team I’ve ever had. Dr. Cho is a generous trustworthy provider who tells you how it is without sugar coating or up charging. And Connie is the best assistant who checks in with the client threw out the appointment. Wish I could take them with me when I move.

Experiencia negativa: I went here a few weeks ago to get a cleaning and a check up. The women at the front desk were very polite and charming but the dentist and his hygienist were not welcoming or warm at all. I was called back and the hygienist said nothing to me, she just lead me back and took X-Rays (which I later found out were very bad quality and had to get new ones when I got a second opinion). The dentist came in and looked at my teeth, he spoke only to his assistant until I asked what was going on and he announced that I had 4 cavities. I was very upset because I have never had any cavities so I was very confused. He did not tell me which teeth they were on or how deep they were. After he announced this I was lead to the front desk and told to “remind them” to call my insurance in a few weeks to get an estimate for the fillings. The hygienist did not clean my teeth even though I specially asked for a cleaning I was only given a consult. I ended up getting a second opinion due to the poor service and was told that I didn’t have 4 cavities but 2 very small cavities due to deep grooves in my teeth. I share this story because I do not want anyone to go through what I did. It felt very uncomfortable and cold and was not friendly or kind like the other reviews I read. If you go here I highly suggest getting a second opinion.

He is the only dentist that has made getting cavities filled as painless as possible; and trust me I’ve had plenty filled in my lifetime! He has taken care of my teeth for the past ten years and my family will stay with him as long as We can. The space is bright, clean, and inviting with plenty of street parking around.

They made me come to the appointment, and then they told me sorry we don’t have you in the system. They rescheduled it. I was running 20 minutes late, they told me we have to reschedule next week. They only care about their schedule but not yours.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible clinic I have ever experienced,this clinic is kind of scamming people. Be aware! Every six months I was going my previous dentist for deep cleaning with no issues. I changed my dentist cause of appointment issues, the dentist come in the room without any dentist assistant, and came with Frye billing staff instead and not even checked my teeth. And she tried to ask me to pay out of my pocket right away. I feel like what I have INSURANCE!!!!!!!! When I booked appointment she said my insurance covered it and okay for deep cleaning that’s why I came. But when I was there she said I had to pay full amount. I’m %100 sure my insurance cover it because I never have an issue when I met previous dentist before. Don’t go there and don’t trust star rating. Probably asking customers for 5 star rating. Cause this is 1 star clinic. I’m going to contact to my insurance. I did not get deep cleaning and they will probably over charge to my insurance.

I had another dentist in Brookline which was only open 2 days a week, so I could never get anything done with them; they'd never call me back, and even if they did, it's impossible to get an appointment due to their limited hours. With DentiStar, there's no such issues. Although I have to be honest, I was a bit displeased with some of the work I had done. Seemed a bit sloppy. Just being honest.

First, the tech and the doctor refused to introduce themselves to me and talked about my case in front of me without including me in the discussion. Second, they refused to fill cavities and do a cleaning for some unknown reason, which is weird because the dentist barely looked in my mouth. Third, they didn't address the pain that I had, and now it is getting worse. Now, I have to go somewhere else and pay out of pocket because they refused to do a comprehensive job. This place is a scam, and no one knows what they are doing in this office. Don't waste your time or money. Edit: the company responded with false information. I was not notified of a confirmation. I did not receive an email, call, or text. Nor did the front staff communicate this when I arrived. My understanding was that I was set for my appointment. If they communicated this, I would’ve taken full responsibility and understood. But this was not communicated at all. But to say they hope I find a practice who takes walk ins for hours longs appointments? Jesus. No one told me I didn’t confirm and the receptionist said that they split it up like that all the time?? It now makes sense why the doctor didn’t care about my visit (yet, they were quite quick to charge my insurance). They were unclear about the schedule going forward saying they will send stuff to my insurance at some point. As a nurse and nurse practitioner student, my schedule varies, and I work rotating nights and days. They failed to provide clear and accurate information and make it seem like I am the problem because I needed an idea of what was happening. I have been to so many dentists around the country and I have never seen this kind of practice. This is not a professional dentist or organization. I have never seen a healthcare professional act this way or make snarky comments that are not even based in reality.

Dr. Cho made many condescending comments in my brief interaction with him, including making assumptions that I did not know how “insurance works in America.” This is not someone I trust working on my teeth and I will be taking my business elsewhere. For what it’s worth, I found his technician to be quite warm and welcoming.

Experiencia negativa: Man... What the heck. I went here because the reviews were so high, but it seems people are having ABSOLUTELY different experiences here. I just visited their office and the dentist and dental hygienists gave me NO information about what was going on. The doctor didn't introduce himself, didn't tell me what was going on, and didn't ask me if I had any questions. He just walked in and started working on my teeth without saying anything. I don't even know his name lol bc no one, including him, told me. He only really talked to the dental hygienist, and I had to remember the words they were using to google it later and figure out what they were saying. They took x-rays and didn't tell me anything about what they saw. At one point I tried to make conversation with the doctor and he didn't even respond or react to me. My total visit lasted maybe 10 minutes, and it ended with them asking me to call them in two weeks to REMIND them to call the insurance people to check my costs. Why am I being asked to call and remind them to do their job?! They didn't even schedule me for another visit. They told me I had two cavities, and I had to ask them about where the cavities are and how deep they were. When I asked, they just told me "They're bad, trust me. You're gonna want them filled." I never told them I was thinking about not filling them--I just wanted more information. Overall, I just felt like they were rushed and just trying to get me out of there, but I only saw one other patient in the office when I was there. I haven't been to a dentist in a very long time bc of insurance and other roadblocks, but I do not recall the experience being this bad. I don't think I'll be going back here. Patients shouldn't have to ask you what's going on to know the bare minimum information.

They are very accommodative and flexible with your schedule. The quality of the dental work I received from Dr. Cho and his dental hygienist is commendable.

Experiencia fantástica: This place was great and Dr. Cho was fantastic. I was in an out in 30 minutes with fresh x-rays, clean teeth and an Orthodontics recommendation. Dr. Cho answered all of the questions I had. I'm not really sure where people got the rude staff from, maybe its that they don't say much, but they were great to me and I'll definitely be going back!

The dentist did a horrible job on my fillings and told me I needed at least 10+ fillings done..I went for a second opinion and found out I only needed 3’! Plus they had to fix the filling that I had done here because they did so horribly! I do not recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: I came here for a second opinion on 10+ cavities that a different dentist claimed I needed filled (I’ve never had bad dental problems before). The dentist at Dentistar looked in my mouth and said “How many cavities did they say you have? I can’t even find one!” Thank GOD for honest dentists who actually care about the patient instead of how much money they can wring out of someone. I will never go to a different dentist again!
