Experiencia fantástica: I am new to Washington and needed a good dentistry for my teeth cleanings. I researched through Zoodoc and discovered Alderwood Family Dental in Lynnwood, WA. I'm so glad that'I did! The staff is so friendly and very personable. I just had a consultation and they were cognizant of my time so they scheduled my cleaning for a later date. I am very thankful that I found them and would recommend them to anyone new to the WA area or not new. They are great!

Experiencia negativa: In October, one of my crowns, which had been placed several years ago, dislodged. Consequently, I scheduled a visit to have it replaced or repaired. During the initial visit, the crown was reattached, but it dislodged again within a few weeks. I then scheduled another visit to obtain a new crown. During this visit, the dentist prepared the tooth for a new crown and placed a temporary crown. However, the temporary crown broke within a few days, necessitating another visit to have it fixed. Subsequently, I scheduled a visit to obtain the permanent crown. Unfortunately, the crown was grounded too thin, causing my tooth to be visible on the top. I made another visit, and this time, instead of installing another permanent crown, the dentist placed another temporary crown, despite having all the necessary measurements previously. Finally, I scheduled another appointment to obtain the permanent crown. In summary, one crown replacement required multiple visits, frustration, and took over four months to complete. Additionally, the inexperienced staff contributed to the frustration. When I expressed my frustration, the doctor informed me that I should have been more cautious in my childhood to avoid having a crown on my teeth. That was shocking to hear from her.

Experiencia negativa: If zero or half a star was available - I would chose that. Dentist was essentially absent and told me to reschedule for a cleaning after her 7 minute "$165.00 comprehensive exam" - due to the practices poor scheduling to begin with. Luckily the front desk team could tell that was bad advice from the dentist and recommended I wait 20 minutes until the DH gets in. Hygienist did all the work, by herself, everything about this practice did not make sense. Very disappointing experience. I did get a discount for all the back and forth with everyone and I called them out on there bullshit - but I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: I have decided to change dentists because I am not happy with the quality of care under the new management. There is a complete lack of transparency regarding procedures; for example, I was given x-rays in September 2025 and January 2026 without any explanation as to why they were necessary or that they wouldn't be covered by insurance. Beyond the billing and communication issues, my last two hygiene visits were not good at all. The cleanings felt less thorough than what I was used to with the previous team. Between the less experienced staff and the lack of clear communication, I no longer trust this office and can no longer recommend them.

Experiencia fantástica: Been to this dental clinic twice now and each time it has been a great experience. Brianna (front desk staff) was so flexible with scheduling and made every effort to communicate rescheduling needs via email, phone call, and even text to make it easy to rebook while I was at work and unable to take calls. Dr. Lele is great, she's down to earth and very personable. I haven't been to the dentist in 4-5 years (horrible I know), and she didn't make me feel bad about it, she understands everyone's personal situation and gives great advice on how to continue good dental health at home. I'm not a fan of dentists/dental clinics and she made me feel so comfortable while undergoing my cavity fillings. Bryant and Bosa (probably spelling their names wrong) were both great dental hygienists, very personable and professional, made me feel super comfortable in the dental chair. All in all, great experience, no issues with insurance like previous reviews, was given a quote before I underwent dental cavity fillings and made sure I was okay and aware of the cost.

Experiencia negativa: 0 star. I went to get my annual cleaning done and walked out with pain around the lower right molar. Service done on Wed, May 2025, informed the doctor and clinic about the prolonged pain on Fri that same week, went to see the dentist the next Mon and she ignored the symptoms, telling me it will be healed soon. If not, come back on Fri to have it checked up again. Mind you, the pain lasted 5 days already. Thu rolled around and the pain was unbearable I needed to have it checked up because no amount of aspirin I took was enough. They did not see me that Thursday (clinic training), not that Fri either because they have "short business hours on Friday, only work until noon." THEN WHY DID YOU TELL ME TO COME BACK ON A FRIDAY IF YOU ONLY OPEN HALF A DAY? WE CLIENTS HAVE A JOB TO KEEP TOO. TLDR: Avoid this place. They cost me the cleaning service fee, 1 bottle of aspirin, a family doctor visit for the dentist's untreated pain that lasted over 1 week and billed $274.32, 1 injection of strong dose of pain killer, 2.5 weeks of chronic migraine and vomit, and 7 days of sick leave. Thanks for the terrible aftercare. I hope your business fail miserably.

Dr. Lele (pronounced "LEE-lee") Haynes took great care with him. She is very kind and personable, as are her dental assistant and the AFD office staff. The receptionist was professional, helpful, efficient, and warm–the type of receptionist every medical/dental office needs. Dr. Lele talked with my husband in concise terms and explained each step of the procedure in such a way that he could follow and understand, which greatly helped to put him at ease. My husband came out of Dr. Lele's office smiling and joking, and he said to me later, "I like her a lot! I felt very comfortable there, didn't you?" I enthusiastically shared his sentiment. Experiencia negativa: I went to this dental hospital after confirming with their representative that my insurance.would cover everything. The girl I spoke with told me that it seemed like everything was covered. However, after the cleaning and check-up, they suddenly told me I had to pay $169 out of pocket. This was completely unfair and unprofessional. They should have been honest about the possible costs before starting any treatment. Not everyone has extra money ready at that moment — and I didn’t. It felt like a scam because they gave me the wrong impression just to get me in the chair. I will never go back to this place again. Their staff don’t seem to care about patients, only about money. The whole experience was stressful and disappointing. I do not recommend this dental clinic at all.

I specifically took time off work to be turned away. I’m looking for a more reliable dentist. One that takes their job seriously and thinks of their clients first. Experiencia negativa: Scam Alert ⚠️- Be very careful when getting any treatment from this place. They will push you services while claiming "this is fully covered under your insurance", But either would not have checked with insurance / made stuff up. And then when insurance declines there claim, they WILL charge you and say "We only check insurance as a courtesy, and we are not responsible even when we say things are covered and push you for procedures". PS: Not the only one this happened to, check other reviews as well. What a horrible, scamming, unprofessional business.

I left the old review below in case it's the same. ----------------------------------------- I initially gave a glowing review and have really been putting off updating it because the office staff and one of the dental assistants, Laura, were great to me. The front office was always extremely welcoming and kind, the treatment coordinator was super helpful, and Laura always did great work. The star is for them, but there's only so much that can count for when you're going there for dental work. I'm re-doing my review because I've had issues with some of the work I got done. My main concern is two root canals. Over multiple months I told Dr Rob that two of my crowns didn't feel right. I've had to get, or am having to get, work to fix them both. My boyfriend also has issues that need to be fixed from his dental work there. Even basic (and deep) teeth cleanings were not done well for me, my boyfriend, or my dad who I referred after my initial positive experiences. One crown was placed so the back went pretty far up the roof of my mouth. Initially I told Dr Rob it felt like it was too high and he shaved it down a bit, then said to give it more time. I wasn't too concerned, but a month later I was still having pain, so he ground it down some more. When I said it still felt like it wasn't enough he told me there wasn't anymore he could do. He also told me he'd checked the pressure between the teeth and it was good, so we should be leaving it as it was anyways and I'd get used to it. I figured "ok, they can't do anymore. Since there isn't another option and it's apparently as it should be my mouth will adjust"... and that's exactly what it's done over the last year or two. A couple of my teeth have become slightly crooked, which I only noticed when I started biting my tongue on that side from one tooth starting to turn sideways. The gums around the crown recently started bleeding every time I ate and brushed my teeth, and then even when I was doing nothing. My new dentist said the crown was placed so the front teeth were pressed firmly together, which only the back teeth should be. He ground down my lower tooth then and there and I haven't had any issues since. Seems like Dr Rob could've done that originally rather than telling me I was wrong about it feeling wrong and would eventually adjust to the pain. Dr Rob also placed one of my back crowns incorrectly. Again, over a period of months I repeatedly said the pressure felt off, but was finally told it was correct based on the pressure strips and x-rays, and I just needed time to get used to it. Turns out it's slightly crooked (high on one side low on the other) and isn't sealed properly, so bacteria may have been getting in there this whole time. I'm now going to have to get a new crown and possibly get the post re-done. I signed the standard form that says things could go wrong and I may have to pay to have the procedure re-done, which I understand and I'm fine with. But they took x-rays afterwards, so they should've noticed (especially since I said it felt wrong) and mentioned the issue to me, if so I could pay to have it re-done rather than thinking it was fine this whole time. Once my new dentist pointed the issue out to me on my x-ray even I could see it clearly. As far as the teeth cleanings, when Dr Rob would come to check after the dental assistants did their thing he'd just do a disinterested, cursory glance. But I figured his involvement was probably just a formality and since Laura did my first cleaning (thoroughly) I didn't care at first. I don't know if they got new dental assistants, but after that the ones I saw didn't do very well. My teeth felt less clean than after I brush them. Both my boyfriend (regular cleaning) and my dad (deep cleaning) had a similar experience: no buffing tool, teeth didn't even feel clean afterwards, only a cursory glance from Dr. Rob. As nice as the staff is, I'd still say find somewhere else.

This place is run by incompetence. The front desk person (who is also the office manager?) was rude, has zero customer service skills, and clearly had no interest in making things right. This is not OK. BUYER BEWARE.

They made me wait for almost 1 hour! And after all that waiting, they just asked me to reschedule. Seriously? They even claimed they called me in the morning, but my phone didn't ring even once – no missed calls, no voicemail, nothing. That's just poor communication and, honestly, it feels like outright lying. They really need to learn how to be proactive and transparent. I took a half day off work for this, and honestly, it felt like a total waste of my time.

Experiencia negativa: I went to AFD in December 2021. Didn't get a bill from them until June 2023. Despite leaving MANY messages and no one calling me back, I had to go into the office to be able to talk to the office manager who was only available by phone. They refused to take any ownership of inadequate billing but ultimately I was able to get the insurance company to intervene. It was very unprofessional and unnecessary for them to not return any of my calls. I absolutely would not recommend this office.

They offer care credit at an affordable rate and they did not do anything else other that what they told me they would do. I had Dr LeeLee and Chris working on my fillings and then my cleaning done by Suji. All of them are very professional and knowledgeable people. if i wasn't moving back to Tacoma I would stick with them as my permanent dentist.

Experiencia negativa: ** Please read ** This practice has been sold and is no longer with Dr. Rob. I don't know whether any patients have been informed of this but at least I was not. I was told it was sold to another corporation. The current problem I have is that they submitted my claim for teeth cleaning under a dentist who had already left the practice at the time of service and that dentist is out of network for my insurance. Therefore the claim was processed as an out of network dentist and I end up now with an out of pocket balance of $164. I now have to work with the insurance company for an appeal and Alderwood Family Dental is not even admitting or taking responsibility for their mistake. I am so disappointed with this practice and have decided to stop with this dental practice. It is not just the money but the grievance of spending time that I do not have to talk to them and the insurance company!

Experiencia negativa: This dental clinic is a total fraud！！！I’ve had my teeth cleaned here twice, and each time they told me there were issues with my teeth that required fillings or other treatments. I told them I didn’t need anything else and just wanted a cleaning, but they lied and said my insurance covers these treatments. After each cleaning, I kept receiving harassing text messages from them asking for money. Even during the second cleaning, I specifically asked if I had any outstanding payments because I had received a message about it. I made it clear that I didn’t want anything other than the cleaning, but they continued to lie, saying my insurance covered it, and added extra treatments without my consent. Now I’ve received a bill showing an additional charge of over $400 for the second cleaning. There are so many dentists to choose from, so anyone coming to this one should be very cautious.

Experiencia negativa: Booked an appointment noting I had a chipped tooth. At no point did they mention prior to the end of my visit, after x-rays and everything else, that they would not be able to treat it during my appointment purely for scheduling reasons. I was willing to take a subsequent appointment, and the fill for the chip would have been partially covered by my insurance but it would have brought me towards my cap. They would not let me schedule a treatment plan focusing on the chip, which has been cutting my gums and lips since it is sharp, without committing to thousands of dollars worth of other services. They claimed that "this signature is just saying that we talked about this treatment plan," but in writing it is an authorisation for **all** of the work proposed simultaneously. When pointed this was pointed out they tried to claim i could just "ignore" half the documents and writing. This is fraud 101, do not sign anything without reading it first. They refused to generate an authorisation that was only for the procedures that I was able to commit to at that time, which was my deep cleaning and filling the chipped tooth that was cutting my gums.

Experiencia negativa: Worst Dental Experience – Do Not Recommend I had an extremely disappointing experience with this dental office, and I will never return. Here’s why: 1. Appointment Mismanagement: I called to ask if my appointment could be rescheduled. They said no, so I emphasized that I would keep the current one. However, when I arrived, I was told my appointment had been cancelled without my knowledge or consent. This level of mismanagement and lack of communication is unacceptable. 2. Poor Quality of Treatment: After getting a filling on my bottom left teeth, they became incredibly sensitive and painful, lasting for months. I had to seek additional treatment elsewhere to fix the issue. It feels like their focus is on upselling treatments rather than ensuring quality care for their patients. 3. Unreasonable and Unexpected Procedures: I had a deep cleaning done here two years ago and was assured it would not need to be repeated. Despite regularly attending my cleanings, during a recent visit, I was suddenly told I needed another deep cleaning. No prior notice or proper examination was done beforehand. When I refused, they stopped my regular cleaning, wasting my time and leaving me frustrated. 4. Lack of Respect for Patients: Overall, I feel this dental office prioritizes profit over patient health. They fail to communicate clearly, disregard patient needs, and do not follow through on their commitments. I strongly advise others to reconsider before choosing this dental office. It was the worst experience I’ve had, and I cannot recommend them to anyone.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible customer service. They overcharge the customer and don’t refund on time. When asked to talk to the manager, they ask me to wait for a week. I have always waited 10-15 mins for my appointment. One day I’m late they make a huge fuss.

I was in pain, overwhelmed, and extremely nervous. Dr. Leslie and her fabulous assistant, Keisha, greeted me with such empathy and compassion. I was instantly put at ease by their kindness and professionalism. These two women have such a gift. They are detail-oriented, patient focused, and trustworthy. I left their office relaxed, informed, and with a smile on my face. I ended up having to get a root canal and a crown and, honestly, it was the most positive experience I could have ever asked for. Experiencia negativa: Aug. 2024 update: with several changes in staff (dentists and hygienists) this office just isn’t the same as it once was. What once felt like a close-knit family environment where relationships and exceptional dental work were prioritized, now feels strictly like a business transaction with a revolving door of employees. My family has had several issues with recent dental work that has been done by some of the current dentists/hygienists at this office, which has resulted in the dental work needing to be redone. Ever since the original owner/dentist left, things just haven’t been the same! ——————— Dr. Rob and his team of hygienists are friendly and knowledgeable. The office environment is very clean and inviting, and the front desk staff is always very welcoming. Everyone treats patients like family and Rob and his team are best-in-class.

Experiencia negativa: Low quality materials and absolutely incompetent staff have cost me at least $5,000 and my partner probably more like 10,000. I am in constant pain from a crown that will need oral surgery to correct, which is not covered by my insurance. They were clearly not interested in trying to correct their mistakes or in any way move to fix the issues that they had caused. Avoid this place like the plague if you care at all about having teeth in your mouth, especially at a young age.

The place is clean. What i really liked is that at the first visit they did all exams, tests, x-rays. Doctor Graham is a truly professional, he was sitting with me and showing/explaining everything what needs to be done, all procedures were painless and results are fabulous. Experiencia negativa: Don't go to this place!!! I just go there the very first time and I have waited for an hour and still can't get my turn. They only have one dentist now and are not able to schedule all there patients well. After waiting for half an hour, the front desk told me only ten minutes more and after another half an hour, she just said she doesn't know exact time now. Very bad customer experience,!!!!!! Even for the customer first visiting!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been a patient here for the past year. I had a last minute issue (cracked tooth) and Dr Anna Liang was able to get me in and seen quickly. We discussed options and I rcvd a reference quickly and easily. There were options to deal with the issue immediately right there in the chair if wanted. The main focus was patient comfort, and a well thought out plan. I appreciate their ability to get me in quickly and to “dumb-down” the options for me so I could fully understand them. Makes me glad to be a patient here.

They are super attentive to my concerns, always try to listen and check thoroughly. I have a bad tooth with so many problems arises from it, and they have been closely monitor it for me. They’ve also made a night guard for me and it works better than my older one done at a different place.

Tried to make an appointment on Tuesday. “Someone will call you back to schedule.” Waited until Friday before writing this. Don’t know if you aren’t scheduling new clients, or if you just don’t get back to people trying to schedule. Either way, bad experience and will look for a different dentist.
