Experiencia negativa: I had my wisdom teeth removed here a few weeks ago. I did not have a consultation beforehand like I was told I would, The nurses didn’t say or inform me of anything, I was left in the room alone hooked up to all the equipment for a long time, and I was only able to ask one question before I was put under. I started panicking because I was not ready and wanted to have more of a discussion like I was told I would. I remember trying to tell them this before the drugs kicked in and they answered with “oh you’re already done. The surgery’s over” and then told my mom who was driving me that “she’s a bit emotional”. Overall it was a very bad experience that could have been easily avoided if they took even a little bit of time to check in with me and make sure I was informed and prepared. This is a common theme I’ve noticed in my other dental appointments, where they don’t talk to you or properly inform you what they are doing unless you prompt them every time.

Experiencia negativa: i’ve been going here for 5 years for orthodontics and dental. Once Dr Beattie quit in december 2025, the orthodontics department has gone significantly downhill. I don’t know if Bright Now is unofficially a training school or hires people right out of dental school because multiple times I have gotten technicians who have hurt me accidentally or don’t know what they’re doing so I have to explain my chart to them. It’s frustrating to be going to the new ortho who I also have to explain my situation to her every time i see her as she spends maybe 2 minutes looking at my teeth and deciding what to do without asking how things are going or being too busy to look over my file or remember me. They’re asking me questions like what teeth I had my rubber bands on and luckily I do know the numbers because that’s how they were asking the question. My braces have been broken on my molar for two months and to my fault I did miss the appointment to fix them the first time. (I do appreciate bright now for being very forgiving with missed apts because i used to be guilty of that). but when i came to get it fixed as an emergency, the dentists didnt know what to do (this was told to me on the phone that the ortho team wasn’t in but I was in a lot of pain and needed the wire cut) and even though I knew what needed to be done and was trying to tell them what the ortho does, they thought that wouldn’t work so they glued the wire to my tooth instead and then when the ortho saw it a month later she was like Omg why did they glue it?? And it still wasn’t fixed she just had me make an apt for july because she’s only in once a month. The front desk is amazing and I love Bridgett she is an angel. The actual doctors and tech team and dental stuff struggle with communication and managing the patients and time. it seems like the apts are running late and when i scheduled a dental cleaning, I didn’t even get a dental cleaning and it was a whole miscommunication on the new front desk person and it wasnt noticed until I was done w my apt and I was like??? she said they couldn’t because they needed to take my braces off to do the cleaning which is what they did in the apt i was just at where they took pictures and x ray and they were dumbfounded because the whole reason i didn’t have a cleaning was bc they needed to take my braces off but they took my braces off anyways to take the pics and then i had to make a whole new apt to get an actual cleaning which is months out so super frustrating. If you don’t need routine care and like me this is the only place that accepts your insurance then yeah keep going here. After my jaw surgery 6 months ago, i no longer have general/routine problems but need specialized routine care with a professional and experienced team who will know my case and Bright now dental is not that and unfortunately will be going to a new ortho even though I will have to pay out of pocket It’s gotten to this point where my jaw surgery recovery is being delayed because of my orthodontics team.

Experiencia negativa: The staff are nice people but there are many issues that I had in my short time of visiting. It is a lot more expensive than my previous dentist (even with insurance). I have been seeing them for a few months and my teeth never had an opportunity for cleaning. My dentist said that I had a cavity and needed to be drilled but when my appointment came I was told that I could just use flouride to help. It makes me wonder about the other two teeth I had drilled. I was told that I had an infection in my wisdom tooth and had to be removed so I had to schedule another appointment. When that day came, I had to wait 2 hours for something that was scheduled! I have no problem waiting but all the seats were full and could easily have more chairs or more space between people. The people sitting next to me were coughing and seemed to be sick and my family is very prone to be affected deeply by illness. So when it was finally time for my appointment and I was just about ready to be put to sleep for tooth extraction, another dentist looked at my X-ray again as well as my "infected area" and they told me that I did not have an infection in my tooth and this procedure was not necessary. I had to take a full day off from work and it was all for nothing because of mistaken diagnosis. I will say the worst part of it is this: I was nearly put to sleep for this procedure and I clearly declared all the medications I take. I take a semaglutide medication which would significantly increase the risk of aspiration. If my procedure had happened then it could have been VERY DANGEROUS. I really hope that they read this and learn from this because I feel like they have potential to be a good place for dentistry. They need to make some adjustments and be a lot more careful. However, I just cannot go back there for these reasons and I wanted to provide awareness to all who are and who might be considering going to this place.

Experiencia negativa: Front desk has always been great, but had an appointment today and showed up early. Did not expect to be taken back early, but if they could then great because I had to get back to work. Appointment time rolls around, then 10 mins after app time, 20 mins, 30 mins, and then I am told they are behind because they only have one dental assistant - why are they booking multiple appointments if they do not have the staff to see everyone at their scheduled time?? I had to leave because nearly 45 mins from my scheduled time had went by and I had not been taken back yet. They are also booking cleanings ONE full year out. Will need to find another dentist with adequate staff.

Experiencia negativa: Most of the people are very nice, but the amount of time it takes to get anything scheduled and actually completed (fillings, cleanings, etc) really isn’t worth it in my opinion. Not being able to see someone for 6 months out for a basic cleaning is really not realistic for continuous care.

Experiencia fantástica: I had such a positive experience here from the first inquiry phone call, to the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly and calming, which made a huge difference for me as someone with dental anxiety. They were very open and clear about everything, what to expect, and the pricing so there were no surprises. I have some sensory and communication challenges, and what stood out the most is that I didn’t even have to explain that to feel understood and cared for. The level of compassion and attentiveness I received was something I’ve never experienced at a doctor’s office before.

Experiencia negativa: If you are scared to visit the dentist, this is NOT the place for you. I can have my blood drawn all day long but the dentist is my phobia. They advertise compassionate care but it is anything but. On my last visit I was thrown out because the nitrous machine was malfunctioning or I perceived it to be. When I started to cry a bit from fear, Dr. Scott (who is quite arrogant and does not care about your well-being) came storming down the hall and immediately became combative with me, which caused me to start crying. It was at that point he refused to clean my teeth, told me I was problematic and raised his voice at me that I needed to be fully sedated to have my teeth cleaned and kicked me out of the office. It was very insulting, disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. A few weeks later I received a certified letter that I was "fired" as a patient (as if I would ever go back there.) Dentists take an oath. Dr. Scott has violated his.

Experiencia fantástica: Making the original appointment online was quick and easy, there's plenty of parking at the location. Staff is attentive and kind, very patient to extra questions. Dr. Michael Scott works quickly and efficiently, very soft hand for those usually painful jabs of lidocaine for oral treatment. Overall very good experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Went in for a tooth extraction due to infection in the root. The surgeon took a quick look at my whole mouth xray. He explained that the tooth on the opposite side was also infected. He offered to extract that as well without another office visit. I happily agreed to it. The procedure went swimmingly and I was sent home with prescriptions and after care instructions. This office has always been helpful and provided excellent care in an efficient manner. I recommend Bright Now! Dental in Bellingham to anyone in need of quality dental services.

Experiencia fantástica: Needed 2 teeth pulled and they got me right in. The appointment lasted 20 minutes and they got the teeth out with no pain at all. It’s been 24 hours and I have absolutely no pain. The best part is they told me that I was getting a credit because I over paid. I highly recommend bright now dental!

The only downside was that they apparently only have one hygenist, so all I got was xrays and an exam, but then had to schedule a cleaning another 3 months out. But thiss problem - being short staffed - seems to be the norm now.

Experiencia negativa: They lied about having a translator. First visit, they did an x-ray, I asked about a translator, the nurse said she would bring a tablet with a translator. She was gone for about 35 minutes, then she came and said she was setting up a connection with a translator. Another 15 minutes passed. Then a woman came, looked at my teeth and asked to turn on the translator on my phone. I sat with my mouth open and tried to communicate with her through the translator on my phone, it was incredibly awkward. I made the mistake of paying before the visit. It was the most useless $65 wasted. In the end, because they were supposedly looking for a translator for me, the whole visit lasted almost 2 hours, instead of 40-60 minutes.

Experiencia fantástica: I have an extreme anxiety about Dentists and was shaking. The receptionist was very nice, I want to especially thank the prep nurse. She was very kind, explained what was being done and made every effort to calm me. I was out right after the Dentist came in so had no interaction with him but after the extractions I have had no pain at all so I’m very pleased with the results.

Experiencia fantástica: They were so amazing, my first time coming in and I couldn’t find a baby sitter last minute. They helped distract my daughter while I got x-rays which they 100% did not need to do. They are such positive people with kind hearts.

And so, they weren't able to let me know how much the procedures would cost, so I won't be scheduling my next appointment until they have that information for me.

Experiencia positiva: Complaints from staff about staff shortage. I went to appt to get reestablished as a patient and got full mouth xrays and all so I could get 1 cleaning a year there. I recently got delta dental insurance. After appt i was told i cant be seen at both unity care nw dental with my kids and at bright now dental. I was told bright now dont do cleanings anymore and that I should stick with going to just unity care nw. I went to bright now so i could get one cleaning a year there since unity care only does one cleaning a year and i get 2 a year now. So i will be finding a new dentist to do work besides cleanings and fillings. Since unity care bills my delta dental i guess it causes issues with billing for bright now dental

Experiencia negativa: I initially made an appointment for cleaning when I first moved to Bellingham but to my surprise when I came in they only did X-ray work and made me schedule a cleaning appointment for a month later. Annoying, but sure. It was communicated to me my cleaning appointment was at 1030am but they had me down for 1020am. Were not willing to work with me to get me in and wanted to reschedule me for another month later. I wanted to like this place since its clean, close, and convenient but the "miscommunication" that they keep putting on me isn't worth it. Going to find another dentist office that actually wants patients in their clinic.

The "Bright Now Dental" receptionist was was very helpful helping me to prepare my paperwork and making sure I was informed about medication and Billing as I went in a few days before because I knew I wasn't going to be with it the day of my appt. The day of my appt everything was in order for me. They called me back, I was extremely nervous, the nurse noticed, got me right in the chair. My partner was allowed to stay with me right up to the iv was in and the doctor came in. Next thing I know I was being wheelchair out to our car. My partner had all the info and tools for my after care. I didn't have to worry about a thing or left with unanswered questions. As some who is petrified of dentist, I highly recommend Bright Now Dental.

Experiencia positiva: FYI They do NOT let you make payments like their advertising implies. They make you apply for Care Credit financing, which is a hit on your credit and you may or may not even be approved based on your credit score. I'd give them 5 stars if they were more up front about this.

Experiencia negativa: Most of the staff were friendly, but the oral surgeon was super rude when I didn’t but into the extra $2,000 worth of work he wanted me to have done at the last minute. I told 3 separate people that I didn’t want the extra stuff done, and was still told by the surgeon that I was essentially wrong for not wanting it done. He had absolutely no bed side manor was very uncaring. I will never go back to this place again.

Experiencia negativa: I've been coming here for almost 7 years , it used to be great but things have gone downhill. I have tried to switch offices but my insurance is not accepted many places. My biggest question is why do they have a different dentist everytime I go? Why have they not had a hygienist since covid 2020? With a brief exception last September. Everyone is nice but as a patient I seriously don't like having to wait months to get a crown replaced, in fact said crown possibly could have bonded before it actually broke. Bottom line they need another dentist and to figure out how to retain a hygienist.

However if you are looking to get a cleaning, I would search elsewhere since they don't have a dental hygienist and no estimate on when they will get one so you are put on a wait-list. Hopefully this fyi saves someone a trip to find that out after their establish care xray visit. Maybe it's a systemic shortage of hygienists in the area? Would certainly ask anywhere you call to make an appt

Experiencia fantástica: I just switched dental plans and this was my first time at Bright Now. From my first phone call to set the appointment through the entire visit, they exceeded my expectations in every case. The entire office staff was exceptional, and were friendly, polite and professional in every interaction. Dr. Gill could not have been more impressive. His ability to make you feel comfortable and tell you at every instance what he is doing and why he is doing it is refreshing and appreciated. His assistant, Olga? (Sorry!) was super impressive and from handling all of the X-rays to assisting and then polishing and fluoride, she was top notch. In summary the entire experience was incredible and I could not recommend them more highly. Kudos to Dr Gill and his team!

Experiencia negativa: I booked a dental Appointment months out because that is all they had available the day of my appointment they cancelled it and rescheduled. Then the second time they made my appointment they cancelled it the day before which I waited two more month to get. I understand that you might have some staffing issues but the third time you cancelled my appointment you can forget me ever being a patient with your company. If you can’t properly staff after 6 months I wouldn’t trust you with my dental services What is horrible is now I’m on a wait list for a new dental office and they told Me they have received many new patients who have had similar experiences. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received without receiving any services Ps I have told everyone at my employment not to use this “flaky” dental service. They also did this with my spouse. Experiencia negativa: I was called in the middle of July for my annual cleaning and the person on the phone doing the calling told me they had to CANCEL because they didn't have a dental hygienist!!! WHAT!?! What kinda dentist can keep and / or find a dental hygienist? I was okay with this dentist. They were fine to go to. The staff at the desk was a little chilly though.

Experiencia negativa: I don't normally post a review on google but I received a "please review your experience with us" so here it is. Had 2 of my permanent crown done at this office 2 years ago by dr. Gill, it fell out last week and they told me there is no warranty anymore. Again that was a permanent crown that fell while eating regular dinner. Dr. Kim who saw me said the tooth were the crown is placed is impacted. Which in my opinion they should have check before they put a permanent crown. They do not guarantee their work, they said no warranty and that the dr who did my crowns doesn't work there anymore. The only option they have for me is to spend another $4000 for root canal and crown. Which means, the money that was spent by me and my insurance 2 years ago is gone. Please do yourself a favor, go to a legit dental clinic, like small clinic who are willing to work with your finances and will guarantee their work. Where the dentist are there for you. Was told that this place also has alot of turn overs with doctors. Because of this experience, and because I do not have $4k to spent it their office, I couldn't make a decision right away, so Dr. Kim put a "bonding glue" to seal back the crown and said to me "I don't know how long until it falls again", pretty much I am stuck with only eating something soft and liquid until I can come up with money. So please, take care of your self and find a reputable dentist. Oh I forgot, I paid $125 so Dr. Kim could glue my old crown lol and Stephanie, who answered my call said she talked to their manager and they do not do payment plan etc, so their advertisement about "they have affordable plans" it is not true.

Experiencia negativa: If I could give 0 stars I would. It took them 40 minutes to do a “cleaning” AND a filling. Tried billling me for all sorts of extra stuff. I was in pain the entire time I pulled the dentist hand away from my face. Hands down worst and most traumatic experience ever. I cried for an hour after I left. I will be paying out of pocket to go to my regular dentist!!

Experiencia negativa: Both my husband & I were terribly disappointed in the care here. So disappointed that we walked out of appointments & came home to switch offices with our insurance. We felt very strongly that we were talked down to and that charges were being run up needlessly. Just went to the new dentist today across town. That appointment confirmed what we suspected of Bright Now. We do not need many of the treatments Bright Now insisted on for us. Get a second opinion.

I'm grateful to report that the hygienist did well at getting my teeth very clean, so in terms of the result it was a success. However, the process was rushed, at times downright painful, and there was an overall lack of caring put into the effort.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to Bright Now in Bellingham recently for a very painful TMJ episode, complicated by other medical issues, and Dr. Eric Kim was super helpful- a good listener, did a thorough exam and imaging, gave me great advice and I felt so much better when I left. A five star recommendation.

Experiencia positiva: Bridget and the office staff are awesome! Saw the hygenist and loved her. Very thorough. On another note, I had 8 teeth pulled and it wat a nightmare! Dr. Hughes is rude, absolutely no "bedside manner". The most painful miserable dental experience I have ever had. Didn't say more than 2 words to me the entire time. And his assistant seemed like she wasn't sure on what to do. About choked me with the air hose, as slobber/blood was running down my chin. When I went back to get my partial, Dr Kim didn't say hardly anything. Shy or just doesn't know how to talk to patients? Did not feel comfortable at all. Almost like he does not want to be there. I will no longer come to this office.I am going where i feel welcome. I left there after getting my teeth pulled not knowing what the next step was. Seems like their communication skills are definitely lacking.

Experiencia negativa: You charge too much money. If you would contact other dentists, you could all charge half as much and have more than twice as many customers. For example, if a family of four comes in to have their teeth cleaned every three months, that would cost $1200 each visit (and that is with Delta Dental) and even more if dental work is needed. No poor or middle class families could afford this.

Experiencia negativa: This was the worst dental facility I’ve ever been in. It appeared to be dirty and run down, very old equipment, and the building was in disrepair (old areas of patched Sheetrock unfinished and not painted over). The staff were less than personable too. Experiencia positiva: The reason for 3 stars and not 5 is because, even though the staff at this Dental Office are really nice, there is an awful lot of importance placed on money. The first thing you have to do is pay, before work is done on you. I found that very odd. The other problem, in my opinion, is that it appears to be run in a very franchise like manner - meaning policies are set by the corporate office and you don't get the same vibe as you do when a practice is actually run by the dentist who works there. There was also an awful lot of additional services being recommended, again, i suspect this is part of the corporate policy

Experiencia negativa: I am unable to give 5 stars because the personnel changes so rapidly that I have yet to establish a relationship with a single dentist. I have been reassigned to my 3rd dentist in less than a year due to staff turnover. I have been told by BrightNow! staff that many new to the area dentists use BN! as a launching point until they get established and then they start up their own practices and leave. That has been exactly my experience. It is very frustrating! Each time I have a new consultation the plan for my care shifts dramatically. For example, I have been advised to have a root canal, then a new dentist says don't have one but rather extract, graft and implant. These are important differences. And I need cleanings every 3 months, but due to an inability to retain hygienists I have had to purchase separate insurance that allows me to get my teeth cleaned and a competing provider. If I could have one wish - it would be stability! The staff have been great, there is just too much turnover.

Experiencia fantástica: I've had an appointment with the root canal specialist Dr. Burke, whom is at the Bright Now Dental office in Bellingham one day of the month. My appointment was on time, and Dr. Burke went above and beyond for me. HE is calming and cares a lot about his patients needs. Dr. Burke and his assistant Trudy did an amazing job. I would recommend Dr. Burke to everyone and would always go back for another treatment, if necessary. 5 stars treatment, for sure :-)

Experiencia positiva: The doctor, Will was absolutely excellent. He is why I'll return, nothing else. I'm displeased that at a time of a pandemic a super large corporate provider like this would charge a $10 PPE fee to each and every customer. I'm also disappointed that when I scheduled my appointment it was 6 weeks out, then they were quite late and off schedule. I understand this happens but looks likely due to profits being the main focus.

Experiencia positiva: Generally, the office and staff are always pleasant and I get what I need done and done well. The constant effort at "upselling" is the only thing that makes me want to find a new dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: Just want to give a shout-out to the awesome staff at Bright Now Dental- especially Leslie, Bridget, and Anna!! I have gone to Bright Now for several years and have never met anyone I didn't love there. Dr. Nichols and Dr. Burke are wonderful to work with. The rest of the staff (in-front of and behind the scenes) are caring, compassionate and always treat you with dignity. Plus they keep you cracking up with their jokes so you forget to be nervous! I always recommend them to all my friends and family !! Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: First visit went well. I came from a different Bright Now! Dental which was in a very small location and you could feel and hear the tension between co-workers. This location is not cramped, has a soothing atmosphere (as much as a dentist office can), and everyone was friendly. Dr. Will has great energy and thorough. Mandy was fun and relatable. The front desk made the transition easy and clear. The office is currently short on hygienists so cleaning appointments are books out pretty far.

Experiencia fantástica: It isn't easy to navigate our pandemic world, even less as a business owner, near impossible as a healthcare worker. Somehow the staff at Bright Now! Dental have made it work with their smiles and humor attached! Thank you, to the staff (admin/dentist/hygienist and the like) of Bright Now! Dental, I felt welcome, comfortable, and safe my entire visit.

I have been with and been seen by many dentists in my lifetime and "Bright Now" comes out tops. Especially the care and attention of Dr. Gill.

Experiencia positiva: I have been a patient of Bright Now at three offices for over 20 years. The service is professional but on several occasions like this one I have had problems with the front desk. They want to pad services. I joined their Smiles club this year which states a cleaning is $75, my bill with all the add ons that I did not request was $163. Further they wanted to re examine me on July 29th when the exam was done the end of June. I did get this removed. Then after the cleaning, I am told I need a crown and build up on teeth 23 and 25? for several thousand dollars - sorry but the dentist did not even see me. The positive is they got me in during the pandemic for several issues and that is appreciated. But I have a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to my pocket - Smiles to the dentist - pain to my pocket.
