Experiencia negativa: If you just need a simple cleaning, the hygienist here is nice and that would be fine. However, if you need any sort of other dental work, like if your x-rays show a cavity or you literally need anything more serious than a cleaning - please go elsewhere, or at least get a second opinion. Doctor Sutherland straight up lied to me just to try to get me to get a procedure for a crown that I did not need. I just got the cavity filled no problem at a really nice dentist in Marina Del Rey, whereas the doctor here told me that half of my tooth was decayed and I would need a partial crown…. which they quoted $2,400. Insane, and wayyy above industry standard. They rushed to try to get me to pay immediately. They were talking about different ways to pay, and if I paid today, they would give me a discount… Mind you there wasn’t even an appointment scheduled yet. Please do not trust anything serious to this Dentist. On a side note if you get a cleaning, they’re gonna try to sell you a $95 bottle of mouthwash “anti bacterial” that turns your teeth yellow.

Experiencia fantástica: Everything went smoothly. After procedures, everything was explained to me. Dr. No and all the staff were nice . I am home resting now after getting my meds- at pharmacy about fours later.

Experiencia negativa: It is difficult to understand how this office could get a 5 star rating. I am a senior so perhaps that makes the difference but my opinion differs greatly. I took advantage of their new patient special and was seriously disappointed on almost every level. Although theytook a full mouthscan, staff was discouraging about transmitting to a specialist for more intensive work. Said biteways only not the scan were digital images and couldbe unreadable or not useful. Next, the office itself seemed to be bare bones lacking professional decore. Office staff wore street clothes, restroom was inadequately stocked without all supplies. Further, as in chain dental offices, I got a solid impression they get new patients in to sell them on extra procedures and other work when an exam didn't warrant it. Don't go here!

Experiencia negativa: I have had a handful of appointments at this office over the last year. They are the first dentist office that comes up for my insurance on the ZocDoc app in this area, so I figured I’d give them a shot. My initial appointment was in April 2025, and it had been about two years since I’d last been to the dentist. I expected I’d need some work done since I hadn’t kept up with regular cleanings. In general, I’ve always had healthy teeth at 34 years old, with only a couple of fillings in my life. After X-rays, Dr. Sutherland recommended a deep cleaning, two fillings, and a crown. Given the gap in my cleanings, I figured this was reasonable. The staff put together a treatment plan totaling around $3,000, and I agreed to do the cleaning and start the crown the same day. I was not properly educated on what getting a crown entailed, and before I fully understood the procedure they were already numbing me and grinding down the tooth. This is partially my own ignorance, but had I known what the process involved, I wouldn’t have agreed to it that day. I was given a temporary crown while waiting over a month for the permanent one. During that time, the temporary crown came off several times, which was painful and concerning. The office was responsive and able to get me in quickly to fix it. I also had billing issues. Initially, almost none of the work was shown as covered by my MetLife PDP Plus insurance except X-rays and part of the cleaning. After reviewing my coverage myself, I realized one of the two fillings should have been covered. Pearl and Karina corrected this once I pointed it out, though I wasn’t refunded until after part of the work was completed, despite paying in advance. All of the planned work was finally completed by mid-July 2025, after starting in April. When I returned in January 2026 for my six-month cleaning, the dentist started reviewing my chart and old X-rays and discussing potential work. I had to stop him and explain that he had already completed work on those teeth and that the X-rays were from the prior year. While he apologized, he did not mention the crown that had been recommended so quickly before, which left me questioning whether I ever needed it at all. At checkout, I was told my cleaning wasn’t covered because I supposedly require “deep cleanings” every four months due to permanent retainers. I’ve had these retainers for 20 years and have always had standard cleanings covered. After questioning this, they billed it as a basic cleaning so insurance would cover it as a gesture of goodwill. Overall, the staff is kind, but the treatment experience, inconsistency, and repeated billing confusion left me feeling uneasy. I probably won’t be back. There also doesn’t appear to be any way to manage appointments or billing online, which is frustrating for a multi-location dental chain. I think their google reviews are a bit inflated due to the QR code to leave a review being right outside the old hygienists office. She was very friendly and talkative, and asks for a review when you get up to leave. I left a 5 star review initially but I'm coming back to edit it a year later as I seek a new Dentist's office moving forward.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT COME HERE. This dentist ruined my teeth and has caused me so much pain and suffering. I went in for the first time for what I thought would be a simple check up and filling. I went in with zero pain or issues aside from perhaps a slight bit of discomfort when flossing in a certain area. They take x-rays and pictures of my teeth. The dentist informs me that I have a "crack" on one of my teeth as well as some "decay." In the office looking on the big screen with him I could kind of see what he was talking about, but in hindsight there really wasn't much at all. Looking at the photos now (because I requested the records), I don't see a crack. The dentist (Sutherland) suggested we put a crown on the tooth to preserve or, "save it." He did not inform me of any potential negative consequences. I am the type of person who trusts medical professionals, so I said okay. Ever since the procedure I have been in intense pain. Couldn't chew on my left side, couldn't drink water, and had constant pain and aching. He essentially destroyed my tooth. I ended up having to get a root canal. Three weeks later and I am still dealing with issues. This man has destroyed my health. I wish to god I had never met him. I hate him so much. DO NOT COME TO THIS DENTAL OFFICE. The only possible good thing I can say is that the office manager, Pearl, listened to all of my concerns and ended up refunding me for the crown.

Disorganized Poor communication Bad follow through Unprofessional My experience with Daisy has been very hot and cold as she told me one thing and has failed to follow through with getting me situated. Overall my experience has been incredibly low quality and disorganized Daisy Laughed at me on the phone today when I said lots of great reviews about you but would hate to share my experience about everything thus far. I’m not sure why you’d tell me to call you and then I can’t get a call back after messages on the desk and numerous calls. Why even be cool and tell me you’ll take care of me if you can’t follow through. I said I Would hate to have to share my experience and got laughed at. So…. Here goes: First appt I showed up to early and on time, ended up waiting 30 min past the start time. Just like tons of other people looking for a new dentist I got a Groupon for X-rays and a cleaning and picked one 15 min from my house. Again, I showed up early, was made to wait 30 min past my time, then went back and they did a 10 minute cleaning after quickly doing the x rays. I got about 4 minutes of talking with the dentist about my X-rays. The first assistant was a guy and super nice but didn’t even know why i was there or what I had purchased and what was supposed to do with me. We had a miscommunication because their own team didn’t communicate with him and then he did about 20 min of polishing and rinsing. . Then they had me wait a full hour before finishing the 2nd part of my cleaning. Another assistant came and started asking me questions and I Was just sitting there not sure what is going on. I didn’t know the dental verbiage and words she was using because nobody told her what service to do with me. Again, super confused, weird that they were disorganized, not communicating, and I’m just waiting and waiting. I waited AGAIN for 30 more minutes after the second cleaning because they said someone would come talk to me again. I waited and waited. Then someone went and got someone to help me once I got out of my chair and asked what was goin on. I spoke to daisy again for at least another 20 minutes about my new dental plan, and hang weed, and smoking and vaping, and she specifically said to call and ask for her to help me pick my insurance per my dental plan. She said she reminded me of someone In Her fam and her and I were getting along great talking about cannabis use. She said I got you Joey. Call me tomorrow. We will take care of the insurance and make sure you pick the right one with no waiting period for your major service. Called. Not available. Left a message. Next day Called again. Not at the office. After the weekend Called again. Left message. Next day Called again,, not at the office. Two weeks have gone by now and Not only did I end up doing the insurance by myself without her help, but I called again today to have my issues brushed off and continue to just be told to come in to get the work done. Wha about confirming the information? Or doing the job to make sure I was comfortable to come back and spend $2800 with the dentist. I received absolutely no apology or anything for falling off and failing to do what she told me to do. No offer to look up my plan and confirm I’m good to go. Just pushy to get me back in the office after laughing at me for the comment about my experience so far. I would never want someone to go to this dentist and be left hanging like that. Absolutely unacceptable and a terrible experience.

That was a great opportunity for me to see and feel the togetherness of all his staffs contributing to dental parton's high hopes and happiness. It was full of simplicity and humbleness, they all are great, respectful and very kind to everyone. Doctor Sutherland is very nice and kind, sensitive to his patron's needs, along with Pearl, Yasmin and all others who I couldn't get their names, they made me very happy with their kind and big hearts.

They maybe are good in cleaning and simple dental work, but watch out if you need a crown, bridge or any kind of serious work, before agreeing with them check Yelps under Steven Sutherland (dentist) and the office Digital Smiles, read more than 100 schoking reviews. One of them said that he was sanctioned by the Dental Board. Actually here in Google, you can find bad reviews under Steven Sutherland name. This dentist probably was a real bad student, but graduated any way. Yeah, the staff is super nice of course, even though there's a lot of them receiving trainings in your mouth. Yes, they're nice until Dr. starting to making mistakes and they can't sorry no more or the Doctor is incapable to fix. This dentist broke my tooth trying to input the bridge. Can you image a doctor that study to fix teeth, but instead he breaks. Incompetence is the name his game. He lies, when he promisses crowns and bridges at same day, but took 2 months to deliver mine and my husband's that fell off same day first time, and kept feeling off until I cannot stand to go back to reglue it and look to these people anymore. He called the security for me, when I complained about a service paid, and not received. I am going to a real dentist that was terrified to see the destruction he did in my mouth. Overdrilled my tooth (that's why the bridge was falling), I have to put a implant, he said a had a infection and extracted my tooth, pulled off good crowns I had. Please buyer, please look into yelps reviews, and there's have a lot to say. Most of these reviews here are for cleaning that he offers for $29. If he suggests a serious work for you, please listen a second opinion. REPLY TO DIGITAL SMILES (owner) REPLY: Well, I had my last appointment booked by your office manager Pearl, for November 19th at 10am, I atended on time, as always. You suppose to fix the hole and reglue for the 4th time my permanent bridge. 4th time in 2 months. And 1st of all you made me wait for 1 hour in the waiting room, completely not aknowledging my booked appointment. After all the wait, you walked the room, like nothing was happening, telling me right away that you have only 2 minutes for me. When I tried to ask why that petmanent bridge was falling off all the time and asked for some guarantee that won't fall again, you started to get very irritated and defensive, kept repeating "I only have 2 minutes for you", drop the bridge in my lap and ran to lock your self in the restroom. I couldn't believe it. What a strange behavior for a professional, locking his self in the restroom, after hurting a patient with his mistakes and incapable to defend his self in a proper manner, answering my simple question - "Why is this bridge is felling off all the time", and asked for some guarantee. And when you, Steve Sutherland, came off of the restroom, you asked me to follow you to the security guard. So, I was mistreated medically, you broke my tooth, trying to input bridges and crowns that can't stay in the place, and O have to accept it. Me and my husband paid you a lots of money, and when I tried to complain or at least have my money back to fix what you broke with another dentist, you call the security for me.... a patient that one day trusted you. What a shame for a professional in a health field. Ethical, standards, patient privacy and this blablabla in your reply, is really laughable. Your generic reply here, like everything you offer, is not truthful. We had all the opportunities, to fix any issue between us, in my last appointment (that you desrespectfully ignored it) November 19th. That day, I asked to speak in private with you, but all you did was repeat that you had only 2 minutes, and I should shut up. Very defensive, rude and specially unprofessional. I called around to about 20 different dentists and the only place that would see me was Digital Smiles. I walked in the office and was met by the most friendly person i have ever met. Her name was Pearl and she was amazing. They immediately brought me back to the chair, took x-rays, fixed my tooth, and i was on my way within 45 minutes. I have had ALOT of dental work done both here in CA and in NYC, and this was by far the best experience ever. Oh, and this was also right before Christmas!!!! Once we buy our place out here this office is going to be our new dentist for my whole family! Thank you Pearl! Thank you Digital Smiles!!!! I will see you again soon.

Experiencia negativa: Worst dental experience. Called almost 2 weeks prior to make an appt for an extraction. Called and spoke with Karina, said she would speak with her manager to see how she can help me financially and never called back. I called back the next day and made an appt for August 25 at 8am. Just for me to arrive and they not have me booked and when I explained what happened and how I never received a call back, Karina herself laughed in my face and said “I guess we can see you today”. If you can go somewhere else, I definitely recommend, not professional and unorganized.

A special & big Thank you to Jenny for being kind, helpful, & most importantly Patient especially on a Friday afternoon. Her level of passion and care about her work is beyond words. Regardless of a Friday, she was truly there to make sure the job was done right and I am completely grateful that she took her time, without rushing, to ensure everything was done properly. She also taught me so much in one sitting which I also greatly appreciate! On another note, I totally understand the Friday rush but I would never recommend anyone to schedule late afternoon Fridays because everyone is rushing to leave at 3pm on the dot.

With mismatched teeth and bad bridge I sought help from Digital Smile in Torrance. What a difference! Dr. Solomon is fantastic. Not only did he restore my teeth with a new bridge, he along side dental assistant Alonzo made me feel super comfortable. I'm giving 5 stars and a definite recommendation to Digital Smile.

Only feedback is that the next cleaning will be $200+, which seems pretty steep. They also send a lot of appointment reminder texts.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible Experience and pushing unnecessary Treatments. I had a horrible experience at Digital Smiles in Torrance. They tried to push an unnecessary treatment plan and deep cleaning even though it wasn’t needed. Jenny, the technician, was not only rude but also made racist comments, implying that my culture influenced the decision to avoid doing unnecessary procedures. She left me in the middle of a basic cleaning and had the nerve to tell me to come back for a deep cleaning when I "start earning good money" to pay for it. This place is a complete rip-off! The employees are clearly trained to push expensive treatments that aren’t required. Always get a second opinion before agreeing to anything here. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone.

I set up an appointment for my family one at 10:00 a.m. one at 11:00 a.m. one at 12:00 p.m. they consistently Reach Out confirming my appointments prior to my appointment once I went to my appointment the staff was overbooked the first appointment was not seen until 11:00 the second appointment wasn't until 12:00 my 3rd appointment had to be canceled they said they would reschedule never did. When they saw the second patient in my family they didn't even clean the teeth they put together a program and tried to get us to pay $15,000 for a plan one of the patients needed a tooth extraction and wanted to charge over $1,100 with insurance for a basic tooth extraction which is outrageous. I went to another dentist with the estimate from digital smiles and they with insurance charged me $200 digital Smiles is out to overcharge and get as much money as they can for the same work as other dentist charge less than 50% of what Digital Smilescharges. beware this place is a SCAM!!

Besides a thorogh exam, and x-rays, I had a deeper cleaning from Jenny and she did an awesome job! They also identified the source of my toothache and gave me a comprehensive treatment plan for follow-up dental work. Highly recommend the friendly staff and good work!
