Experiencia fantástica: My two year old saw Dr. Hicks on 2/2/26 for his very first dental appointment. I loved everything about this place, and more importantly, so did my son. My son especially loved the small movie room in the waiting area and the toy game at the end. He’s already looking forward to going back. Thank you Dr. Hicks and team! Update Aug 2026: our now three year old was SOOOO excited to go back. He smiled through the entire appointment and, just as last time, he is looking forward to his next appointment!

They have friendly staffs and Dr. Hicks is very professional, kind, and attentive to the kids. My kids never cried here. Also, Dr. Vu did a great job on my daughter’s braces. Every six months we all look forward to coming here. Beautiful interiors with variety of entertainments for the kids. Extremely kid-friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Hicks is incredibly informational, gentle and to the point. My daughter is only one years old and I had some concerns about her jaw development. Dr. Hicks answered all my questions in a very timely manner. He is also super gentle, he cleaned food out from a one year olds tooth and made it look easy. He went over tooth eruption sequence, how to brush her teeth, the frequency and how to handle teething. This office is also the second cleanest place I’ve ever been to in my life besides an operating room. I highly recommend this practice and I’m happy we got in as new patients.

I knew Dr Hicks was our dentist as soon as the visit started. Dr. Hicks is a kid whisperer who gets results. The staff is delightful and the office is calm yet kid-friendly. We’ve been coming for almost ten years and now I’m sad because she’s just about to age out.

From early visits for our NICU kid to check dark spots on baby teeth, to emergency visits when one of our kids walked teeth first into a granite countertop and knocked 2 teeth loose, to expanders & Invisalign and all the routine visits in between both Dr. Hicks and Dr. Vu have been exceptional. Experiencia fantástica: We have been going to this office since my daughter was 5 years old. She was adopted and had a lot of cavities and anxiety with dental things. They were very patient every time with her and just kept an eye on the cavities. Now, at 12 years old she never had to have fillings because they just kept an eye on her teeth until those baby teeth came out. I never ever felt pressured to have to have my daughter go through procedures or get cavities filled or anything!! Today was my son’s rescheduled anppointment and I could only book one of my kids cleanings due to open spots. I brought all my kids with me for my son’s appointment, one of the hygienists realized I would have to come back the following week (we live an hour away) for my other two kids and asked Dr. Hicks if we could be squeezed in instead. They were able to put all 3 of my kids in for a cleaning all in that same time we were already there! They are always so kind and really work with your children and making them comfortable. 10/10!! Highly recommend!!

FYI- we had no issues with the doctor. Doctor personally took time and explained me the situation and I'm really impressed with his honesty and understanding. My kids was taken very good care by him and they love to visit his office.

When it was time to bring my youngest I was nervous as he is non verbal and on the Autism spectrum. It has been almost 2 years now and Dr. Hicks and his whole staff have gone above a beyond to make us feel comfortable, welcomed and safe. I always leave feeling so thankful to have found such a great practice. Taking a child on the spectrum to the dentist is not always easy and they really have taken the extra time and care to help make the visit as tree free as possible. They do a great job of scaffolding the experience for toddlers to become independent and confident at the dentist between ages 1 and 3. My daughter thinks it’s fun to go to the dentist now. They are also very clear and communicative with parents. I appreciate the short-and-sweet summary hand outs at the end of the visit.

We went from having a child terrified to have her teeth cleaned to having two children who feel safe and happy to go to the dentist and orthodontist! Our younger child had his regular cleaning today, and he was EXCITED to go. We left and he smiled, “I love the dentist!” What a relief for a parent who has had such an opposite experience in the past with another office. Bringing our child with anxiety to this office and then giving our second child a solid foundation with great early experiences with the dentist has been among our top 5 parenting decisions.

Experiencia fantástica: Have been coming to Dr Hicks for 3 years now .moved from SoFL and had an amazing pediatric dentist there as well so I'm very glad we found Dr Hicks by recomendation from school mate on the 1st try . For someone who was traumatized as a child with dentists in ex ussr ,I get happy tears every time that my child is so happy to visit a dentist. Never had a billing issue but I also understand my plan very well especially when I was moving states and changing doctors for everyone. Never had anyone being rude to me but then I'm not rude myself. And never had anything recommend to us that didn't make sense . In fact ,I was inquiring about expanders ahead of time because I could tell my son inherited my jaw and i had braces myself and Dr Hicks would tell me next several appointments to wait until he let me know . Once he did , we immediately got them with Dr Vu and I love having them in the same building so Dr Hicks can be watching over progress as well . And yes once you are in, it is easy to schedule. I schedule next visit at check out so I can see how it can become busy for new patients . Highly recommend this practice if you want your child to have excellent teeth and gentle experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Hicks has been the most amazing dentist for my 8 year old. After having a terrible experience at another doctor that left him with significant anxiety about the dentist, Dr. Hicks worked with him and his comfort level to finally overcome his fears and make him feel comfortable with some of the general procedures! Dr. Hicks even recommended a conservative treatment prognosis that wouldn’t increase our son’s anxiety from past experiences.

He is the best because he will only recommend procedures for your child if it is absolutely necessary. And that is what sets him apart from the rest. The first dentist we went to in the near by area was not very friendly, rushed through the appointment and was even a little bit rude, so when we met Dr Hicks we were blown away at how caring and thorough he was. He took his time and made my toddler feel comfortable. Highly recommend him if you are in the johnscreek area!

Experiencia negativa: Dr Hicks is great but the practice has very limited availability and is difficult to get appointment times. Needed to re schedule an appointment and was told the next available was January. I requested an afternoon and the next available for that was the end of February at 1:00pm. That’s difficult with kids school schedules and work schedules. Called another practice and got in next week at 4:00pm! :) In respond to you reply since you won’t allow me to reply. I appreciate that you “spend a great deal of time with patients” however that is just not true for everyone. You maybe spent 8-10 minutes with my son the past few time. Your staff never even offered an option to be put on a cancellation list or a wait list. Even as the only provider, end of February is absolutely ridiculous for a routine cleaning for a 3 year old. Write what you want to defend your practice but this just isn’t good medicine. I am a nurse and trust me I understand the system but this just isn’t good practice.

Experiencia fantástica: Our son needed to have 2 teeth extracted. He didn’t recommend they be extracted at an earlier appointment because it wasn’t necessary at the time. Dr. Hicks took time to answer all of our questions so we felt at ease with the process. He made sure our little guy was as comfortable as possible, and the procedure went very smoothly. Within 2 hours of the extraction (and one serving of ice cream later), our kiddo was acting like nothing has happened. Very thankful for the excellent care!

Experiencia fantástica: Updated: I had a couple more visits after office relocation. The office is back to how it was before. No need to brag about the beautiful office. Staffs are informative and knowledgeable. I am so happy to see the business settled in the beautiful new location. Dr. Hicks is always the best! ___________________ Our family and friends love Dr. Hicks. We had great experiences until what have happened recently after moving to new office. I was asked to fill out paperwork for any update and I marked for an address change and provided my new address. But when I went back for my other child appointment, I found out that my address was never updated in the system so someone had to go in the system and updated. Also, one scheduling incident happened. When someone from office scheduled my daughter's appointment, they missed to check patient's date of birth so someone's appointment was mixed up with my child's. Apparently, our appointment was for someone else's who had the same name. I felt strange about having another appointment after healthy teeth check up so I called the office in the morning of the appointment day to confirm. I even explained that Dr. Hicks noted all look great during our regular check-up and I wondered why my child needed another appointment for a fix. The office staff confirmed that we did have an appointment. I felt a bit strange but brought my child in. During our visit, Dr. Hicks found out the situation and sincerely apologized. Next day, Dr. Hicks even left a voicemail to apologize. We have no doubt in Dr. Hicks skills and his caring. But some staff need to be trained better to run Dr. Hicks new office like his great old office.

Experiencia fantástica: We have been coming to see Dr. Hicks for many years. He is amazing and great with kids. We are always seen within minutes of arrival, and very little time is spent waiting. My kids get restless. The kids get a report card that helps pinpoint their weak areas of brushing and flossing. They also get a gold token to redeem a prize from their machine. They do book out months in advance.

Experiencia fantástica: This has taken me a while to write based on how busy I have been. Dr Hicks is a man anchored in wisdom of the heart. The depth of him to care first for the children is immediately felt. We had a traumatic experience from a previous dentist with our son who showed no care and was considered a top one in Georgia. Our son was already sensitive to things from TBI. The moment we told Dr Hicks of the light sensitivity and trauma he Embraced our son. There was an immediate showing of how deep empathy runs with him. Elite is at all levels yet the depth of those Dentists who radiate a care for youth in action is rare. He is one of rare talent and heart intelligence. Our son doesn’t fear the dentist and looks to when he can see Dr Hicks to tell him of all his milestones since the last visit. If you are considering a dentist for your child(dren) you will not go wrong with him. I was a parent distrusting of the medical profession and hard pressed to see value in those that claim to be the best. He doesn’t yet his work, staff and care show he is top rated. I am sure there are other good ones around but my personal opinion and experience I think it’s a distant second to them. A deep respect for him and his team. I highly recommend him for the intangible wealth having caring team and skilled professional like him. We had an emergency and he moved quickly to add comfort and an open line for support. Thank you for your care for so many kids.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot recommend Dr. Hicks highly enough! We first were referred to Dr. Hicks for a knocked out tooth for our one year old, and now all of our kids see him! Dr. Hicks goes above and beyond for his team and his patients. We texted him over a biking emergency visit at 7pm on a Saturday, and we were seen in his office by 8pm for sutures. Saved a trip to the ER - and he provided a wonderful (instead of what could have been traumatic) experience for our 6 year old. Thank you, Dr. Hicks!

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! I brought my daughter here she is 2 years old and she went for her first dental visit! I tried to introduce her to all the dental shows etc and even got a dentist kit I was nervous because she cries at her pediatrician.... The entire staff was so kind and gentle... The lady that brought us back gave my daughter stickers and that made her very happy because she loves that. The Dr was absolutely amazing. He's so calm and my daughter was very good and comfortable. The entire experience was great! Very fast and efficient

Experiencia fantástica: I strongly recommend Dr. Hicks! He is so professional, honest and considerate. My child was very nervous for her first dental treatment but she ended up feeling comfortable and happy with her silver teeth. I was anxious about the sedation too, but everything was not rushed at all, just smooth enough to feel safe. He told me he wouldn't charge for the cavities he might find during the procedure. As we walked to the office, he even asked me to walk us home after the treatment because walking back home might be dangerous. He didn't have to, but I was grateful for his gesture.

We moved to Atlanta and my kids happened to go to this pediatric dentistry just because it’s very close to home as well as school. Now I tell the difference between the pediatric and general dentistry. The environment is so caring, stress free and the instructions are so easy to follow for kids. I love the note of a cute hippo with big teeth and Dr. Hicks message and always put them next to kids sink as a reminder after a visit. Appointments are almost always readily available and easy to schedule. I strongly recommend here.

Experiencia fantástica: We recently used Pediatric Dentistry of Johns Creek for my daughter's dental needs. She is a very complex medical patient that needed a lot of work completed. I was given a list of dentist that had surgical privileges at CHOA. I ultimately choose Dr. Hicks based off the information I gathered from his website and the numerous positive reviews. The experience we had from Day 1 was nothing short of incredible. Dr. Hicks does a wonderful job of combining professionalism and skill with kindness and gentleness. Due to factors out of our control ( the dentist and myself) our process took about 9 month from start to finish. His office staff went above what was required to handle all of the details of our dental case. They were prompt, courteous, organized, and a joy to work with. I can not thank everyone in this office enough for the care and compassion that was shown to our family. Thank you for a job well done!

Experiencia fantástica: RAVING FAN! Our daughter has a lot of medical issues in her mouth that has caused cavities that has needed 4 crowns. We switched to Dr. Hicks after experiencing a terrible pediatric dentist experience which left her with panic attacks. Dr. hicks went above and beyond to make the best plan for my child and then has worked on her timeline and comfort level. Because of Dr. Hicks and his team going above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable, understands what is happening, and funny enough, she now loves the dentist. Experiencia fantástica: First impression when you walk in - beautiful and clean office! Staff are very friendly and greet you promptly. There is a movie theatre in the waiting room which is very cool, but kids might not be watching long because wait time has never been more than 5 minutes. Dr. Hicks, dental hygienists, and all other staff are very kind and thorough in the cleaning and all explanations. At the end, kiddo gets a coin to put in a machine to get a toy. My ONLY complaint is the grading on the dental report you receive at the end of the visit. My son got a “C” today and its just not a fun feeling for him or me. Of course I understand that they are expressing he needs to brush better/floss… but I think just making a note with “Next Steps” would leave parents and kids with a better morale than a grade. But anyway, still giving five stars because at the end of the day I trust them to take care of my kids’ teeth!

We trust her implicitly with our children's teeth and she goes over and beyond in her personal treatment of each patient. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: After a bad experience when my son was 6. I found this gem he is now 11 they are honest which is extremely hard to find in dentistry I know since I work on the insurance side in the field. I now have a two year old who had her happy check (1st visit) there it was truly a happy check she was nervous at first but he has a true gift with children and dentistry very detailed on explaining his findings. Despite COVID he still treats us the same I’m not barred from coming back and observing or asking questions it’s a unstressful visit. It’s the next best thing to a spa seriously just worry free. I love this dentist moved from Duluth to Snellville and travel almost 45 or so to get there I don’t regret the drive a bit.

My son was traumatized from his previous dentistry & Dr. Hicks has done a great job working with him & making him comfortable. Unfortunately, my son has to have fillings for a few cavities but Dr. Hicks did a great job gaining his trust and getting on their level..even sings to them..great voice by the way .. highly recommend this dentistry to anyone looking for an outstanding pediatric dentist!
