Experiencia negativa: This place is the worst as they don't care about your health, just padding the bill. I went in today for a cleaning, should be easy right, of course not. After commenting that I've made some real improvement, he hands me a treatment plan. There is line item after line item of 'additional services' for $245.xx. I said what is all this other stuff, he's like we need to do all this other stuff in addition to your cleaning, but I can work with you on the price. Seriously, I'm not buying a car, I don't want all this rubbish. I walked out knowing they are in the business of 'up-selling' because as I suspected, they are owned by Private Equity, and your health is secondary to their quota. It's a real shame this is what our Dentists have become and I get it, everyone needs to make some money but $245 in addition to what my insurance was going to pay for my cleaning is absurd for a cancer screening and some other nonsense they wanted to add on to my cleaning. I do not recommend this place unless you enjoy being worked over so they can hit their target sales numbers set by Private Equity.

She was worried that they don’t get paid by my insurance but she doesn’t want to talk to them either. I’m glad I didn’t wait I just left they don’t care anyway. I don’t recommend at all… no customer service and unwillingness to help…

Experiencia negativa: I am 18 on my own, trying to set up my own dental work. I don’t have an actual insurance card, but I have the number numbers needed to provide the insurance information. The two ladies upfront were the meanest and rudest people I could possibly ever talk to. They were so disrespectful and nasty to me. It’s not even funny. I’m telling them that both my TRICARE and United concordia say that my thing is active and they’re saying it’s inactive then one of them puts in the right number then says oh they must’ve done something. Which I respond. No, he hasn’t even touched his keyboard and they didn’t do anything y’all put the wrong number in which she told me you can get out and I’ll talk to you later and shoot me away with her hand. This woman already has a nasty review about her on Google. Do not come to this place if you are sensitive or shy. Experiencia negativa: When I was making appointment for cleaning (a few months ago), I said that I wanted to see the dentist. Two things happened : 1. I was not advised of the cost. 2. Today there was no mention of seeing the dentist. Also, there's is a very tiny (3x4 probably) that mentions a surcharge. Perhaps I'm just too trusting, but instead of using debit card, I used a credit card. Surcharge. What! Then .. I was directed to the sign. I did remark that she should have shown me the sign before (not after) the transaction. She response was "oh, well". I'm not happy.

Experiencia negativa: We went there due to in network. They did the temporary dentures which could not even be used to eat with and even looked large in the mouth. Never got permanent ones and the only ones doing 2 sets are large conglomerates. We went out of network and took about a week with a very caring dentist.

Experiencia negativa: Beware!!! Don’t get scammed and get a second opinion. Use an independent dentist and not a big corporation. Sage Dental over exaggerated my gum disease to charge my insurance and me excessive amounts of money for services I didn’t need. My hygienist told me, if I didn’t get the treatments I would take the chance of losing my teeth. I am very disappointed in Sage Dental since they took over when the previous dentist retired and sold his business. It’s funny how my teeth took a turn for the worst since Sage took over. I have seen two independent dentists since then and they both said I do not have the problems they said I did.

Experiencia positiva: Went in for a toothache. The dentist and the hygienist were great. However, I was told that the medicine that I needed would be called into my pharmacy. My appointment was at 8am and I’m still waiting for them to be called in at 3pm. I called the office and whoever I spoke to told me it would be called in at the end of the day. I don’t think they take patients seriously about their pain level.

Experiencia negativa: I was forced to give them a star in order to write this review and if I could have given ZERO stars that is what they would get from me. Be cautious with them because they try to charge you for services you never signed up for. Upon completion of my dental cleaning, and as I was leaving the office, the dental hygienist handed me a bottle of mouth wash and stated I needed to use it daily. I refused the bottle therefore he handed me dental floss and said see you in 6 months. The dental floss was $5 which I was unaware of considering most offices will provide you with complimentary floss to promote their products. The mouthwash was $30 and glad I refused that as well. When I went to check out, I was billed $80 for an oral dental screening which was done by the hygienist without my approval or knowledge. It seems as though this is customary in their practice and I would stay clear of them!

Experiencia negativa: Sage dental took advantage of a senior citizen that had to have an exam and xrays for an open heart surgery release form. There representative assured me there would be no charge. When I got to my scheduled appointment they said I have to join a sage plan which cost me 149. Then after the exam and xrays (which the dentist said were fine) they advised me I would need a tooth cleaning before they would sign my release which was an additional 561.00 which if I didn't have the plan would be 1129. So they won't sign my release and I could die without this operation. Also they advised me to take (4) 500 MG amoxicillan tablets before the cleaning because they might poke bacteria into my bloodstream and exact words were take these no matter what anyone says, including my doctors! I don't want anyone else to be subjected to the stress, which i have enough of!*

Experiencia positiva: The service is an acceptable one in a timing manner and clearly explained so you can make an informed decision. The only area I am not so happy is the billing process since it can get confusing. The staff at the office is very helpful but the administrative department for SAGE corporation is in a separate location and at times the information from the dentist office gets crossed by the information of the corporate office requiring you to contact the dentist office for clarification.

I come in for my 6 month cleanings every time now! If you are scared about being judged or about the “stigma” at the dentist, I promise you, this office gives you no reason to be afraid! They are up front about every cost, the receptionists are wonderful, my dental hygienist is wonderful, etc. There truly isn’t anyone at this office that isn’t amazing! Experiencia negativa: Please be warned when scheduling that if other people cancel their appointments before yours they will not honor your appointment time and they will cancel same day. Therefore, any appointment scheduled isnt actually confirmed until they decide they have enough work to stay in the office for your visit. It was a rainy day today and people canceled i just got a call at 1130 to cancel my 3pm appointment that I rearranged my entire schedule for multiple times. I was told it wasn't worth them to pay their staff for my appointment. Very upsetting and unprofessional, I have never experienced anything like this with a medical facility. If I canceled my appointment the way they did i would have a fee, but they just get let off messing up my entire day. Not the type of business I would recommend.

Today was not as good, I arrived 30 minutes early and was taken in an hour later. The male dental assistant was difficult to understand and his skills were not up to standards. I will go back to Sage dental but I will not have that employee clean my teeth.

Experiencia negativa: When I first visited Sage Dental on 9 April 2025, the front office staff was professional and greeted me with smiles. The dentist and the tech were knowledgeable and genuinely caring. On my second visit on 30 April 2025, the office staff, as usual, were professional and greeted me with smiles. I waited less than ten minutes in the waiting room before I was called to the back by a staff member named 'Shade' who greeted me and told me what exam room to go to. I sat down, she informed me that the dentist would be with me. I sat in the exam chair at 12:10 PM and was in the room alone until 12:35 PM. At that point, I got out of my seat and hollered to someone to find out what was wrong. All of a sudden, Shade appears and asks what's wrong. I replied, 'Is there something wrong? I have been waiting to be seen for 25 minutes. Then, her persona changed as if she were 'Bipolar." She rudely said, 'I Told You The Dentist Will Be Here!" I could not believe my ears. I said, 'Excuse me!' Who Do You Think You Are Talking To!' She replied, 'You!" I said, I want to speak to a manager and at that time, another staff member came over and inquired, 'How can I help? I stated, 'You can't! I proceeded to the front desk and reported Shade. The front desk person was shocked at what I told her and apologized profusely. (Mr. Michael M. I was told I could get a second opinion an a second opinion I got if you’re looking for a great Dentist call Dental House in Mount Dora. I walked out of my visit today very well please for a third of the price, and none of the issues that Sage dental had concocted up! Experiencia negativa: Mark zaborny first I would like to say they somehow blocked my review from the public and want to add Dr Stephanie McRay and get dental assistants are top grade my complaint is with the front desk staff the 2 girls who are supposed to be working with insurance getting pre determination and pre authorizations.I came to sage about 2 years ago and needed much work at my very first appt I made it clear I was on low income disability and could not pay large out of pocket payments and when ask to sign electronic signature to get started I told them I could not and refused to sign out of pocket payments form that everything must be approved with insurance and any copay prior to service if any electronic signature was signed it was slipped in with out my knowlage with treatment approval signature about 7or8minths ago my treatment plan for 2024 was to cap my bottom 6 teeth which was badly needed.This year came with renewed insurance of 6000$ told me my copay was 1400$ I said it was to much at this time and declined I was going to save and come back when I had the money.I came in March with an infected tooth and put on antibiotics during my follow up they were on me like candy just pay 400$ and will take care of the rest since I really needed this I agreed and again checked with the 2 girls one named Jill I believe that this procedure was covered and was assured it was well it wasn't appeal after appeal was sent and denied never telling the doctor about the denials that's when I started getting involved with the doctor and insurance according to the documentation sent to me by insurance no preauth on predetermination was ever made not till after starting the work was insurance involved not even a phone call to check that's the definition of your job the one think your suppose to do omg now every day i get a 4990 bill in the mail a text or email.I went t talk to them the one girl who was so nice and helpful telling over Ana over we got it don't worry who i personally made clear my financial situation at least a dozen times she was outside on a break i don't remember you ever telling me anything omg that really pissed me off how do you sleep at night becarful at sage Tavares fl I feel like I got taken by a really good used car lot good cop bad cop i can never come up with 5000$ and they new it she said just let it go to collections help please not only are you going to lose my 6000$ insurance my sister is a patient gone her husband gone i bet there on commission to be so irresponsible and careless to put someone in this position and destroy my credit this should never of happened warning check with you insurance before you let sage do anything becarful to sage i have reached out repeatedly to resolve this with no response next i will be contacting yelp and the BBC and last resort dental board

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled an 11 AM cleaning at Sage Dental in Tavares, Florida and arrived promptly, only to wait 45 minutes before being seen. Once called back, I was rushed into x-rays, after which I was informed there was no time for the cleaning I had specifically scheduled. When I raised this with Julie at the front desk, she insisted, “That’s not how we do it,” and claimed I’d been informed of this on the phone (which I was not). Julie then presented me with an itemized dental treatment plan and asked me to sign, despite my reluctance to approve or commit to these additional services at the time. When I mentioned that I only wanted to pay for the cleaning, she insisted I sign anyway, saying it didn’t mean I had to go forward with everything. This felt pushy and dismissive of my concerns. To accommodate the cleaning, they rescheduled me for later that day. I returned as requested, only to wait an additional 20 minutes. After my cleaning, I asked for a copy of the treatment plan to consider at home, at which point Julie made a remark about trying to go over it earlier, in a manner that felt combative. She eventually left, and another team member had to step in to process my co-pay. Overall, my experience was disappointing. The focus seemed to be on upselling services rather than providing attentive patient care, and the communication was poor. I would not recommend Sage Dental based on my experience and have also seen reports with the Better Business Bureau citing similar billing and customer service issues.

The staff at Sage absolutely go above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. I cannot recommend Dr. McRae and Sage dental highly enough.

Experiencia positiva: Satisfied overall with the dental care once I got in, but therein lay the problem: my original appointment had to be rescheduled because of staff illness...I get it, it happens. They rescheduled me to a day the Dr wasn't in. This wasn't caught until 2 hours before my appointment day of(they claimed that I had been called prior to reschedule but that's not true: last call was from the Friday prior to confirm the Monday appointment. Last text was 4 hours prior, again to confirm the appointment). Rescheduled again, finally getting to the chair almost 25 min after arriving at my appointment time. Do better.

Everyone there was outstanding and the entire experience from check in to check out was handled stand professionally. I definitely recommend Sage dental of Taveres.

Experiencia negativa: My appointment was at 9am but they didn’t call me back until 10am, and I was back there almost another 45 minutes all to reschedule for my cleaning. And the front desk check out takes at least another 15-30 minutes to look up your information to reschedule you. It was an unpleasant doctors visit.

Experiencia negativa: I came to this office related to MVA and a need for dental care following. That was in October. It is now June and this office still have not provided me care, is holding my dental records hostage and caused me to cancel with other clinics who “could” and would care for me needs as a result of my record not being sent in a timely manor. The front office admin JULIE with the other staff is nothing BUT RUDE! To the extent of my calls being hung up on. This office staff lacks integrity and professional skills

Experiencia negativa: Doctor and Hygienist were nice - but main objective is to up-sale - ever service is a la carte ... very pushy ... very expensive... just going in for a cleaning covered by insurance... somehow still cost! Look someplace else ... No run to someplace else
