Experiencia negativa: My son went here for cavity work, and while the doctor was fine, we ran into a frustrating billing issue. They charged us more than our insurance company's allowed amount. I called the office twice to look into it. Both times they promised to follow up, but they never did. When they finally got back to me, they claimed that local rules allow them to charge more than the insurance allowed rate. If you bring your children here, I highly recommend checking your insurance benefits and carefully comparing your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) with their charges before you pay. It’s a shame because the dental care itself was fine, but the communication and billing practices left a lot to be desired.

My son had a very negative experience with another local dentist (Smileist, Highwood) and unfortunately it created a lot of stress/aversion/anxiety related to dental appointments. I connected with Forest Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry thanks to a friend’s recommendation. Prior to my son’s first appointment there I explained his past experience and subsequent dental appointment anxiety due to the history. They took the time to fully hear my concerns and they went above and beyond to make sure his first visit with the practice was warm, welcoming and efficient. My son now enjoys going for cleanings, orthodontic appts, etc. It’s a big practice and you may not always see the same dentist/hygenist/orthodontist at your scheduled visits but each and every member of the team we have interacted with (throughout our past few years in the practice with both of my kids dental + ortho) have always been an absolute joy to work with. They truly go above and beyond in all aspects of their practice: reception, scheduling, communications, billing/insurance interface, patient care, office aesthetics, patient + parent experience, etc.

She got to know her interests to help keep her calm, kept her informed in a toddler friendly way of what was going to happen, reassured her throughout the procedure and praised her for being brave. It was a very positive experience. So happy she is my daughter’s dentist!

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve gone 3 times so far with my 4&5 year olds the first visit was quite rough with my daughter being so nervous we didn’t get much done but the dentist helped calm her down and decided it was best to come back in a few months the 2nd visit she had gabby doing the cleaning and X-rays she was phenomenal with my daughter 10/10 it was such a complete opposite visit compared to the first one. I can’t remember the name of the dentist but she was very great with explaining to my daughter the steps of everything, she was so kind and patient. 3rd time we went was my son’s first ever dentist visit. He is a curious cat and loves to wander around. we had Delilah, and a helper who I can’t remember her name they were both super amazing with my son holding his hands, keeping him calm and answering his 100 questions, the dentist was also very kind and patient. Would definitely recommend coming here to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist

Experiencia negativa: For young children, everything here looks fine when there are no issues like difficult visits or cavities... However, once problems arise, be vigilant!! In early 2024, my son had cavities detected, and Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) treatment was recommended. We attended all the follow-up appointments, expecting diligent care. Unfortunately, the dentist overlooked the fact that SDF was ineffective, allowing the cavity to worsen over almost 1.5 years! Last month, we were informed that this molar needed extraction, which would require a spacer until his adult teeth emerged in about 4 years. The situation only got worse. Despite this outcome, we decide to continue the treatment here and to trust the dental office, albeit with expressed concerns and disappointment. Unexpectedly, while still in the midst of the treatment cycle, the office emailed us to discontinue treatment for our son without any prior communication. We are truly disheartened by the professional and administrative failures of this office.

We first started to use Forest Ortho & Ped Dentistry when my daughter was referred to a pediatric dentist for a tooth extraction and we were HOOKED right away. They were SO kind and definitely pediatric focused. I switched my 16 year old son to this clinic after taking my 9 year old and even he likes to go to the dentist now! They talk with the kids, not just to the parents, which is REALLY LOVE! They make the experience super pleasant. We have used both the ortho and dentist side and have had a wonderful experience every time! They remember my kids each time we come back! It's wonderful. Cannot recommend enough!!

They are patient with both of my children and let them take short breaks during visits as needed. They are willing to work with my children in a way that makes them feel most comfortable while still doing what’s best to care for their teeth! You’re hard work doesn’t go unnoticed!

Experiencia negativa: I’m extremely disappointed in this practice. My daughter received her orthodontic work here, and while the process was initially smooth, our recent experience has been nothing short of alarming and frustrating. In September 2023, my daughter had a permanent wire retainer placed on both her top and bottom teeth. However, last Wednesday, while eating lunch, the permanent retainer came off in one piece, and she accidentally swallowed the estimated 1.5-inch wire. Panicked, I immediately called the office to ask if they had ever encountered this situation before. The woman who answered the phone said no—which was not at all reassuring—and put me on hold to consult with the doctors. Their advice was to visit the emergency department for an X-ray. What followed was a stressful and exhausting ordeal: three long nights and four days at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago as we monitored the wire’s movement to ensure it passed safely. Thankfully, the wire eventually moved to a safe zone, and we were able to take her home. What’s most shocking and disappointing is that throughout this entire ordeal, no one from Forest Ortho called to check on her or follow up in any way. To add insult to injury, my 16-year-old—still determined to maintain straight teeth—went back this Wednesday to replace the retainer. However, they wanted to charge us $350 for the replacement wire! For something that was supposed to last years, having it come out in less than three is unacceptable and suggests poor placement. I’ve spoken with multiple people who agree that this situation was handled poorly and could have been avoided. I expected far more from Forest Ortho, both in terms of the quality of care and their responsiveness to a serious issue like this.

Experiencia negativa: Really liked this location the first time. But today, not so much. While staff is nice EXEMPT the tech with the black hoop nose ring and the 'Ace of spades' tattoo on the left wrist. Her name is Bri. Next time you want to say "WATCH YOURSELF" YOU BETTER KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE!!! I don't care if it was to another dental tech or not. When you are coming up on the backside of someone saying that, you may not like the reaction you get. And then thought it was funny. Front desk staff seems to be more concerned about getting kids the flavor Popsicles they want rather than checking patients in and out.

Experiencia fantástica: We are 1 year into orthodontic treatment for my son and myself. They were the only ones (out of 3 consultations) to recommend the very specific treatment my son needed. We are super happy with everything from initial consultation, to how they speak directly to the child as the patient, to financing options and every subsequent visit. We always feel valued and welcome and it always feels like they go above and beyond. I’ve already recommended 3 other families and everyone is extremely satisfied.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a dental emergency with our 3yo. After calling 50 different places - with NO ONE offering any emergency extractions!! - Forest got us in IMMEDIATELY! You have no idea the relief this was.. They extracted the tooth and took such great care of our little guy! The staff were incredible, amenities for the kids UNMATCHED, and the professionalism, thoroughness, and quality of care was impressive. Highly highly recommend this establishment! They also called after we got home to check in on our boy. Wow is all I can say! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have been seeing the dentist at this office for over 12 years and will not be going anywhere else. I have recommended this office to all my mom friends. They have 2 locations, and we have gone to both, friendly staff everywhere.

Went there for a consultation but then I couldn’t schedule a follow up appointment after several attempts calling the front desk and getting placed on hold indefinitely. Or told that someone would call me back later and no call back. I’m done trying it was just a waste of time taking her there for the consultation.

Experiencia fantástica: My 3 kids were treated here for both orthodontics and dentistry. I can’t express how grateful I am for the staff! One of my kids in particular deals with some pretty severe anxiety about doctors of any kind, and I was worried she wouldn’t be able to do the treatments that were required. But the staff worked SO well with her and were so kind, gentle, loving and encouraging. They made it possible for my daughter to finish her treatment. Cant thank them enough! Who knew a caring team could impact a kid’s life so much? I am a very grateful mom! ❤️

Experiencia negativa: I have been coming to the lake forest location for years now, but lately my visits haven’t been a good experience. Today, the person helping my child wasn’t pleasant at all, making smart comments throughout the whole visit. I kept quiet, didn’t want to make scene, at the end I thanked him and the person completely ignore me. On my next visit I’ll make sure that person doesn’t work my child ever again.

Experiencia fantástica: My kids have been patients of the Lake Forest office for a couple years now. We were in the market for a dentist & we have many friends whose children are also patients. Our first visit was a little rocky as my 4 year old did not have the best experience (kicking & screaming the ENTIRE VISIT due to his fear of doctor's offices), despite the best efforts of the staff (ARVIE!). My 2 year old on the other had, had a PLEASANT experience & said he has a couldn't wait to come back. I felt AWFUL after that visit, but everyone was so kind & understanding about it. Every visit since then has been SO pleasant & the kids feel VERY comfortable seeing all the doctors. It is apparent that both Dr. Bocks keep their standards high for their offices. A few things I love about FOPD: - CLEANLINESS is a top priority - The staff is professional, knowledgable & are very accommodating - The doctors are very thorough; we don’t mind seeing whoever is available - The design & layout of the office was thoughtfully planned & executed well; kid friendly with an overall modern & clean aesthetic - The atmosphere is warm & inviting for kids; tablets & tvs for distraction - Reward of the claw machine or treasure box after visit - Involved with the community - They have an ice cream truck! - Refreshment area - Their social media presence - We especially love our dental hygienist, Arvie, who has really made our visits enjoyable & easy peasy for the ME & kids :) - MOST IMPORTANT: That my kids find going to the dentist as a POSITIVE experience & don’t mind the visit I can’t say anything but the best about the Forest Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry!

But the Hygenist Kelli was so patient and friendly my grandson actually sat still long enough to get a cleaning (he’s 4). And the dentist Dr Shah was amazing as well. Explained everything to me and would show me what she was talking about. If you have a young child definitely take them here! Wonderful staff from the receptionist , to the check out girls, and everyone who passed us in the halls smiling and saying hello. The lobby is beautiful and my grandson loved the grab machine after his visit.

Dr. Shiloh was extremely thorough and fixed the issues I was having prior to starting Invisalign. I received excellent care at every appointment, and I love my results! Highly recommended!

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Forest Orthodontics. They do not adequately disclose their fees up front, and you will likely end up with a much larger bill than initially agreed upon. Multiple nighttime retainers I had from them broke within the first couple months of wear, and they asked for an additional $800 to replace them (you are supposed to wear the nighttime retainers for life). I wish I would have explored more affordable options before choosing Forest Orthodontics. There are so many out there! (Byte, Smile Direct Club, etc).

Experiencia fantástica: Both of my daughters have had orthodontic treatment with Forest Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry (1 is on her second round). Their experience (and my experience) has been nothing but amazing! The staff truly goes out of their way to make kids and parents feel comfortable and explains the process very clearly, even 2 or 3 times if you need it! And their billing process makes it so easy! We have really felt lucky to find FOPD, we loved our pediatric dentist in the city but moving to FOPD felt seamless, because we felt comfortable right away!

They get an A plus from my family and I and a rating of 10 out of 10. We give the absolute strongest and highest recommendation possible. I saw our patient and welcome they were with children with disabilities! The first appointment with my 3 year old autistic son I knew would be difficult but everyone there was so amazing and patient! Each appointment back, my son is more comfortable and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They were so helpful too when we had a change insurance and took the time to make sure it was all correct.

Experiencia fantástica: My son needed extensive work done we had a tentative plan to do it in January but his needs accelerated and they made it Soo easy to schedule and the treatment plan coordinator Denise always communicated with me, gave me all options that were out there and was just overall fantastic. And the doctors even thought so far ahead they put spacers in to make sure my sons adult teeth come in correctly. I just have Soo much gratitude to this place and I can’t thank them enough. ♥️

Experiencia fantástica: I am so grateful and thankful we found this dentist and orthodontist office. The staff is kind, patient and understanding to the kids and their anxiety. I have never seen such a professional and friendly staff. My kids come in regularly and we have only had exceptional experiences. My son can be a little dramatic and a bit difficult and the orthodontic team is excellent with him. If anyone is having a bad day, you would never know. They offered a temporary fix to a cavity for my young daughter to give her some time to mature before a bigger procedure. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. A beautiful, clean and welcoming facility. Don’t hesitate, they should be your number one choice.
