He even went the extra mile to call my insurer to resolve my anxiety. He is attentive, kind, funny, patient, and personable. I don’t live in Illinois anymore, but I will keep making the trip back here to continue seeing him as my dentist. It is very clear how much he cares about the quality of treatment he provides and the experience his patients have. I can’t recommend him and his kind staff enough.

Experiencia fantástica: Even though I’m an adult, I was so nervous getting my wisdom tooth. When I got there, I was in tears with nerves. Dr. Jacob himself put a weighted blanket on me, reassured me that I’m not gonna feel a thing, and even gave me a stuffed animal to hold which I thought was cute and funny. Not only was it 100% painless, It was also very fast. He is hands-down, the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Thank you, Dr. Jacob!

Experiencia fantástica: I came in for a minor bonded retainer smoothing after my former orthodontist doubled their out-of-pocket fee for the same service. Dr. Mark Jacobs took care of it efficiently and even removed plaque around the retainer without charging extra. He saved me money, was kind and professional, and made a great first impression. If my job situation changes in the future I'd be happy to become a regular patient! EDIT 3/19/26 - Visited Dr. Jacobs again but this time for a cavity filling on a bottom-front tooth. Service was as superb as the last!

He showed great interest in my case and within a week I received my implant with a temporary crown. This process was very stressful and emotional but Dr. Jacobs made it fun and easy, and now I am able to smile with confidence. He is super hands on, he took the time to make sure that I fully understood my situation and the process of my treatment. I feel so lucky that I called Dr. Jacob and that he happened to be in his office. We were not current patients, but he saw us that morning anyway, and set us up with and oral Surgeon on Monday. Experiencia negativa: Dr Jacobs is a not a good oral surgeon. 3 years ago he did implants on me for a bridge. He spent over an hour trying to get an iv in me. I asked him to do my foot but no. Later, I got something in the area and without taking the time to numb me, he was in a hurry, he caused me the worst pain I felt trying to get it out. Now just after 3 years the back implant went bad. I had asked him if there was enough bone and he said yes. After spending 14k with him now I’m in the position of taking out the back implant which has been extremely painful plus a lot more money. I would never recommend this Dr. only 10% of implants go bad.

Experiencia negativa: My two teen sons have gone to Dr. Jacob for a few years. Until recently it was just for teeth cleanings and it went very well. The problems started when my older son needed a solution for two incisors that are too thin. Dr. Jacob recommended veneers and we went ahead with 2 veneers ($4,000). The shape looked okay but the color was a little off. I was disappointed. Dr. Jacob offered to redo it but my son said no. Two weeks later, when my son was in a pool he got hit in the jaw, clenched his teeth, and one of his veneers popped off. We were disappointed because Dr. Jacob never communicated to us that veneers come off much more easily than crowns. He also made the thin teeth significantly thinner to prepare them for the crown. We were also not informed about this. Every time a veneer comes off, it will be $2k and 2 more dental visits. (But since it was so soon after getting them on, Dr. Jacob redid this one for $350.) When scheduling I asked for a Saturday. I was told Dr. Jacob had canceled his one Saturday for this month and was not rescheduling it. This was annoying- I had purposely chosen a dentist that had at least some Saturday hours. My son was embarrassed about his tooth though, so I missed work, and he missed out on teaching chess, and we went to see Dr. Jacob on a week day. Dr. Jacob numbed my son's mouth and THEN realized that something was wrong with the veneer! I had missed work for nothing, and my son's mouth was numbed- for nothing. We were frustrated, but we rolled with it and made another appointment. We waited an additional few weeks for a Saturday appointment. Three days before our appointment I received a text that we needed to reschedule - it offered no explanation. It suggested week day times when my son had school or another commitment. I was angry at the complete disregard for our time- again. I regret ever starting with this dentist. Usually I get referrals from friends, but this time I had looked at reviews instead. It didn't work out well. I am going to lose $2k by starting over with another dentist but it is worth it. I no longer trust Dr. Jacob. We need a dentist who is professional, reliable with appointments, and competent.

I Believe he is a perfectionist, and when it comes to my teeth and my smile, that is important to me. His hygienist is the best. In December, I was leaving for Mexico And my three tooth crown came out. He met me at 7 o'clock in the morning did what he needed to do and I was on my plane in time. When my daughter was in Spain and had issues, he was on FaceTime with her and helped her work through her issue. They were able to see me right away and go over procedure, cost, and even scheduled me next day for procedure. I found him doing research on my own of the best local dentists and his name came up in a few different areas. I needed a good amount of previous work fixed as well as new work to be done and he took care of me in the most professional manner. The experience with Dr. J and his whole staff is second to none. Always willing to work with my ever changing work schedule and accommodate any changes that may come up. I've driven to him when I lived local and I still visit him living an hour away, as long as he's practicing dentistry no matter where I'm living I will be going to him. He deserves to be unanimously inducted in to the dentist's Hall of Fame.

Experiencia fantástica: My aunt recommended I reached out to Dr. Mark Jacob after she found out I was dealing with severe facial pain & migraines due to dental work I had put off. I live in Joliet IL so it took a little over an hour to get to his office but it was so worth it. Immediately upon arrival I walked into the most impecable dental office I have seen. The staff is amazing, they have great attitudes and a good sense of humor that lessens the nerves that come with sitting in a chair not knowing what to expect. Within minutes of seeing Dr. Jacob for the first time I was pain free he made sure I was comfortable before having to finally address something that made me miserable for so long. He began to work immediately, his team work flows uninterrupted. Their high energy and drive to help you makes you feel safe and relieved. There was a moment when he synced in with what I was thinking he knew exactly in what moment the pain would end. My facial muscles relaxed, the constant pressure was gone, I took a deep breath and realized it was over. I don’t believe I could of found anyone better to help me. Experiencia fantástica: Having moved to Chicago a year ago I hadn't been to a dentist since leaving the military almost 2 years ago, As I had nothing but bad experiences with dentists before I was apprehensive to go back to the dentist. Well that fear is over after going to Dr. Jacob! I asked a friend who grew up in Chicago who the best dentist in the city was and he correctly directed me to Dr. Jacobs office, and the hour and half drive for me was well worth it, A drive I will gladly be repeating as long as I live in Chicagoland. I contacted Dr. Jacob about a severe toothache I was having and he was able to get me in right away! My usual fear of scary white walled Dr's office's was immediately rebutted by the beautiful waiting room and decor of Dr. Jacob's office putting me at ease, and all of the friendly staff continued to make this experience the best I have ever had with a medical practitioner of any kind. Dr. Jacob kept me informed with everything going on with my teeth and made me feel at ease with simple easy to follow explanations and analogies for all dental issues I was having as well as treatment and prevention methods. I left having both learned my lesson about sugary sweets, as well as how wrong I was to be afraid of the dentist. With Dr. J taking care of my teeth I know that I am receiving the best dentistry available for an amazing price, and will always feel at ease in the dentist chair moving forward (so long as its in this office)! She did a great job cleaning my teeth. I was very comfortable, Sandra really knows her business. Dr. Jacob came into the room and looked over my mouth and gave me positive feedback.
