Experiencia fantástica: My daughter had her first tooth pulled at North Texas Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. Was expecting tears and pain…what happened was the opposite! Appointment was less than an hour, they let her watch a movie, they gave her a popsicle and prize, and she came out smiling! No tears or pain! So thankful for this staff and their methods, cause this was definitely not my experience as a child going to the dentist. Cannot recommend them enough- they’re the best :)

Experiencia fantástica: **Edit** I had spoken to their office manager and they had agreed the situation was handled poorly and that their prize setup wasn’t great, especially for littles. We’ve gone twice since this visit and the changed their system and the whole process was super smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend them. It says a lot about a company that can take criticism and turn it around to a positive. Up until this happened the staff and dentist were wonderful, I would be giving them 5 stars had this been handled better. My son is 3. This was his first big boy appt with a cleaning and x-rays. He was extremely good throughout the entire appt. He only got a little whiny when they had to apply medicine to one tooth. He was promised multiple times that he would get to pick a prize when they were through. He even rolled with it when we were supposed to be done and we had to do some extra things before he could pick his prize. Well, they have a little tower of gum ball machines so there were different things within each machine. He wanted a dice, this is the prize that he picked, but he got a ball. Twice, because they had given him 2 coins since he had to have the second thing done. Imagine, being 3, being told over and over that you’d get to pick a prize once they were done messing with your mouth. You have no concept of what a gum ball machine is and that you might not get what you were going for. You were just told you could pick a prize, but you don’t get what you picked. The injustice. It doesn’t matter that it’s all cheap nonsense. You didn’t get what you were told you’d get. So, of course, he melts down. Completely inconsolable. I’m trying to explain, but he’s beyond reason, because he’s 3. Does anyone among their 20 some odd employees ask if there’s something they can do to help? No. I just got stared at like I should be able to control my child. I explained what happened as we checked out, the receptionist tried to help by offering some things that she randomly had in her desk, but they weren’t what he picked so that didn’t help. We got paid and I had to carry him out screaming, all while feeling judged by EVERYONE. I don’t understand why a Pediatric location can’t foresee this being an issue with a child so small. They literally do not have the capability to understand or regulate after such a disappointment. I don’t understand how you can expect children to come back and feel comfortable when they feel like they’ve been cheated…. This may seem trivial, but it was real to him and it took 45 minutes to calm him down.

Conversation with the parents from staff, leaves no questions unanswered and pricing for procedures are fair and reasonable. 10/10 every day and I have been to 3 other pediatric dentist in the area which all disappointed in one way or the other. Very refreshing to have such a positive experience for me and my child.

They didn't play around and got the job done. I'm excited to take my baby girl here soon. The play area could've been a little more fun for kids only a couple books and blocks....but overall good experience.

I'm so glad we did because from the moment we walked in, we had such a nice first time experience. Warm welcomes when you walk in. All of the staff were so nice and helpful and PATIENT with our toddlers. Dr. Lepore was SO informative with both my daughters results. She explained everything so well. It was very impressive. Even the scheduling staff was so pleasant and helpful with getting our daughters on the waiting list. Happy to say we found our daughter's new dentist!

Dr. Shidler has this magical touch with kids – she made them feel relaxed and actually excited about their check-up! Her gentle approach and way of explaining things really helped ease their fears. Experiencia fantástica: I can’t express my satisfaction with the staff and level of care! We’ve been going to NTPD for years. After our last visit, my 5 and 4 year olds said in the car, (true story!) “We love the dentist. Can we keep going there?” What child says that?! My kids are eased into everything and feel so comfortable with all of the staff. It’s the exact opposite of what a kid’s dental experience could be - instead of a nightmare, it’s a dream come true, and we even look forward to it! The care we receive is top notch, and the staff is very knowledgeable and experienced. I never question the treatment plans for my kids, and I know that my kids dental needs will be met with honesty, fun, and professionalism from now until their teenage years.

Experiencia negativa: My kid had a melt down today over a simple issue. We can own that. However, instead of working with him, I was stared at for several minutes and then abruptly told "sorry we have other patients and your time is up." If I had known we had one hour for two teeth extractions, an exam, and x rays, I probably would have gone somewhere else. I took the entire day off work as a school teacher to get this done and we no one worked with my son emotionally to get him out of a panic. Please get some bedside manners. Y'all work with children of all ages. Some of an intense fear of the unknown, it doesn't help to stare at them while they break down and depend on the parent to try to control the situation. No other ortho or dentist has had issues with my son, and his fears haven't changed. :) But the Dr's did. Lastly, we lost the appt we orig. had due to a form not being signed. It could've been signed over the weekend, but no--instead we were booted from the appt two weeks in advance for not filling it out in time and I had to call and HOPE to reschedule for the same day since I had already asked off for that day from work to take my son in to see you. Office staff is great!

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend North Texas Pediatric Dentistry. They really accommodate for the needs of children. The lobby is spacious with plenty of seating. There is a large screen TV on the wall in the lobby, so your kids can watch a cartoon while you check in. Also, there is a separate smaller room for younger kids that have games, books, and puzzles. Everyone is really nice and if your children have anxiety about going to the dentist, don't worry. They are great with kids and will do anything to make sure your child feels safe and comfortable. My son, who literally is scared to open his mouth at the dentist, was able to get a cleaning with no tears or complaints. I absolutely love this place and wish I could give them 10 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: Stop researching — these are the absolute best pediatric dentists in Denton. My 6 year old is excited about going to cleanings and appointments. They are thorough but efficient and always allow parents in the back with their children, which is a non-negotiable for us. We have never waited more than 5 min past an appointment time. After an accident and ER visit last night, they fit us in right away today to check her mouth and teeth. Dr. Lepore was everything you want in a children’s dentist — gentle, empathetic, knowledgeable, detailed. I left with all the information I need to care for my daughter’s injury and feel very confident in our plan. Will never go anywhere else!

Experiencia fantástica: Our experience over the last 3 years has been phenomenal. Their dentists and assistants are all top notch and the customer service is great! They are not overly aggressive in treatment like the dentist we were at prior. Before it always felt they recommend treatment way too early and then the problem would work itself out. This office gives a wait and watch approach, except in cases of emergency, of course. I have 3 kids and they always work with me to get them seen at the same time without taking forever. They are active in the community and even remember my kids at community events. I am very happy that we found them!

Everything was well explained and questions were answered and understood. We also didn't have to wait that long for them to attend us.

Experiencia positiva: I've taken my four children to this office for several years and we've always had a good experience. Recently I took my oldest, 16yo, in for her six month cleaning. They told me that she was all good and that she was ready to go to a regular dentist. As we were leaving I asked my daughter why it took so long and she mentioned that they told her she had a lot of cavities. Obviously I went back in to question why they didn't share that info with me. They all just kind of stared at me like I was stupid. Now I have to pay for another exam at another office to find out what's going on. Needless to say I won't be going back. This place is great with littles, but I wouldn't take anyone over 12 there.

The dentists thoroughly examine the children and ensure the kids enjoy the process. They display high levels of professionalism and even offer goodies to the kids during their visits.

Experiencia positiva: Clean environment, friendly, informative and helpful staff. All the way from the front desk to the dentist chair. I'm a germ conscious mom so I had to tell my child he couldn't play with the toys. However, with a movie playing during our VERY SHORT wait, was a great alternative. We appreciated that. Our dental hygienist was so sweet and determined to walk my son through everything without treating his fears as if he was a baby. My feelings were however conflicted and hurt regarding her approach with me. Though her intentions were positive, I felt pushed away and excused by her when I tried to assist in calming my child. It seemed to me that she has had a lot of experience working with children. Notable and valuable. However as a mom, currently going through child therapy with my child, I would've appreciated a little more openness from her with what I was trying to suggest in helping her complete the task at hand. Overall, she was great and showed an incredible amount of patience with my child. I hope this is constructive and helpful. We cannot wait to return in 6 months. Thank you

Experiencia negativa: Let me start with some positivity…. The office manager is amazing. Unfortunately, I left very upset after a seemingly simple procedure today. I was not given all the scenarios that could possibly happen, and of course the scenario not explained happened. I have been coming to these guys for 8-9 years and this is the first time I left upset. Parents have the right to be told all scenarios, and not just what you think we want to hear. It took me 3-4 months to even get on the schedule to have this procedure done … just to be sent home with a “temporary fix.” I do not take placing my kids under sedation lightly, so to basically give me false hopes with outcomes that were not obtained is quite ridiculous. As I stated in the beginning I really like the office manager, and most of the staff but unfortunately I do not want the dentist used today around my son again.

I called their office about 30 minutes before closing to ask for advice and not only did the doctor call me back but also offered to stay late so we could bring him in for x-rays and exam. Although the outcome wasn’t ideal (extraction), all of the staff was so understanding and patient and made the experience as tolerable as possible. Thank you so much!!

Experiencia fantástica: We are from Iowa and when I tell you I am so blown away by the customer service MY CHILDREN received from the moment we walked into the door ! The lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing, kind, got my kids checked in after checking/scanning my ID also asked if my kids needed a school note! Nice play room waited maybe 5 mins got to the back and it was a whole vibe all the ladies were smiling moving and getting ready to get back to work after lunch! They explained everything they were doing and were very kind sweet voiced crew !!! Good cleaning for my littles and even got a prize and they are decent prizes for the dentist office in my kids voice lol I'd give them 100000 stars if I could and my kids have no problem with coming back for a routine cleaning Checking out was a breeze and got paperwork out we went!!!!! Super pleased but more importantly my son isn't afraid of the Dentist anymore W/ Love One happy momma.
