Experiencia negativa: Very disappointing experience. After getting a crown, I continued to have a lot of pain, but my concerns were not taken seriously. I had to make multiple visits, which wasted a lot of my time. I was eventually told to see a specialist and faced additional costs. When I requested a refund because I wanted treatment elsewhere, it was denied. Overall, I felt ignored and would not recommend this dental office.

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience on my 1st visit. Was left in a small room and wasn’t seen by anyone if it was not for the receptionist coming to back I truly believe I would have been there for hours.they forgot I was even there

Experiencia negativa: Bad experience very time!!! I would not recommend taking your child to this clinic and questionable for adults. I brought my 7-year-old daughter because her regular dentist was under construction, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The staff clearly lacked experience with children. They did not have child-sized X-ray vests, the equipment they used was all meant for adults, and they were unable to take her X-ray properly. At the end of the visit, they made us wait 20 minutes for a video call with the doctor. When I said I couldn’t wait any longer, they told me they would call us later to set it up — but they never called. This alone already damaged my trust. I returned this week for my own appointment, and while the dental treatment itself was fine, the same issue happened again. They kept me waiting 15 minutes for a video consultation. I again told them I could not wait, and 1–2 hours later they called to schedule a virtual appointment for the next day, promising to send a link. I sincerely hope they follow through this time, because my trust is already very low. Additionally, I have concerns about their hygiene practices. In both the X-ray room and the room where they did the dental scanning, I noticed the staff touching my mouth and then immediately using the computer mouse and keyboard to adjust settings — without changing gloves or sanitizing their hands. I have never once seen these surfaces or rooms being cleaned between patients. Maybe they do it afterward, but I personally have never witnessed it, and it did not leave a reassuring impression. Overall, while some parts of the visit were acceptable, the lack of pediatric preparedness, poor communication, long waits, and questionable hygiene practices have made me extremely uncomfortable. I hope they improve, but at this point, I cannot recommend this clinic.

From start to finish beginning with Irene, the office had me laughing and feeling very much at ease. I feel comfortable with the plan that was chosen for me and relieved that it went as pleasant as it did. Thank you all!

Experiencia negativa: This was my first appointment with the dentist for routine cleaning. I went through the xray process and then was placed in a room to meet with the dentist via computer, which I thought was extremely un personal. The Dentist never showed up, I sat in a room for an hour then I left, having nothing done or explained. I decided to find another dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: I got four of my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. I’m currently writing this the second day after my appointment and I must say the staff/team were incredibly kind. I want to highlight that I met a very sweet lady. I believe her name was Julia. I’ve always had moderate-severe anxiety when it comes to medical procedures. She made sure I was comfortable and at ease the entire time. I probably would’ve cried if she wasn’t there to comfort me. I was also prescribed strong pain medications and a mouthwash all which are very helpful as my pain tolerance isn’t the greatest. Thank you Zak Dental for everything. <3

Experiencia negativa: I have been here 4-5 times now and there is always an extremely long wait. Once I waited in an exam room for 40mins for a “virtual dentist” to show up and it wasn’t until I walked to the receptionist, that I found out they didn’t have anyone available to take the virtual call? I understand that medical offices get busy with emergency patients, but it really seems like poor planning and understaffing here. The receptionists are nice but it would be nice if they gave a heads up about running behind? They make you wait SO LONG in a waiting room with no free wifi or tv. At least make that experience enjoyable! The only time I avoided a wait is by requesting to be the first appointment after they resume from their lunch break. Somehow today when I tried that style again, they still had me wait 30 mins. I walked out and am seeking dental care elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: If buying services and products you don't need. Getting told you need procedures that don't need to be done. If you love waiting for office personnel to show up a half-hour late to open the office then this place is for you!

Experiencia negativa: I came to address a disgusting taste and odor coming from the back of my bottom left wisdom tooth, and instead left with some minor cleaning and a $3000+ quote to remove 3 wisdom teeth. Didn’t even get antibiotics for the afflicted area or a cleaning for it. Extremely frustrated with the lack of focus on care over maximizing their profit. I’m about ready to just chop my own jaw off at this point.

Experiencia negativa: All dentists are freelance at Zak. It’s a dental factory and you’re just a number. Talk to dentists through video meetings, not in person. They are NEVER on time for appointments. I waited to see a doctor over 1.5 hours past my appointment time!!! Once they took all my money (video meeting with their Doctor and financial consultant) now I get slow service. 7 weeks just for a consultation about a crown? My teeth were cleaned with the water jet but that was it. No scraping/picking off plaque? Freelance dentists they hire are hustling and overworked. There’s more but trust me, go somewhere else, NOT HERE!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Have been here for like two years consistently. Such a great dental office. I got my braces with Dr. Miller and she is actually so amazing. Her ortho assistant Reina is fabulous as well.

Experiencia negativa: They trick you into thinking you will be seing a dentist. However, there is no dentist on site, just a a bad hygenist. They scan your teeth, take xrays and then tell you that you have to discuss everything with the dentist virtually in a room. That's right, no denstist to look at your teeth in person. They dont tell you up front that you can't have a cleaning the same day either, of course thats because insurance will pay more if you come by for a second visit. So then they force you to schedule a day for a cleanin in the future, but lets be clear, when you scheduled for a first visit, they dont tell you this, they mis lead you and say "oh maybe we can do the cleaning same day, it depends", when clearly this is not even close and they know it. So now its 2 weeks later and im going to my cleaning, it's the worst cleaning ever. Horrendous, the hygenist? which im not sure he was, just took a drill and barely scraped my teeth with what felt like a dremel tool, and that was about it, besides the basic flouride application. Will never go hear again and will always do my due diligence from now on. Oh also, the part when they trick you into getting the Xrays done and THEN telling you there is no doctor on site if a very shady practice.. VERY SHADY.. that way you cant change your mind.

Experiencia negativa: I booked my 1st appointment, arrived on time into an empty office. After a few minutes someone, someone walked by and said, be there in a few minutes. I was then asked to sit and wait more. About 15 mins later, the same person that checked me in asked me to follow her, no introductions. She proceeded to rub a wand around my mouth taking pictures and then proceeded to take 18 xrays. Finally I was asked to wait for the dentist. After 20 mins, I decided to ask how much longer it would be only to be told there was no dentist on site and I would need a "virtual" appt. I was not able to even make a cleaning appt because the dentist had to decide what kind I needed. Really?! I felt like I had spent a wasted hour!

I come here for periodontal maintenance and for ortho. I have major dental anxiety and I have never once felt nervous about coming here. The dentists and technicians are super gentle and always explain every step of everything to you. And they have availability!! The office is very clean and they have a lot of equipment that I’ve never seen or been offered at other dentists. I have been recommending Dr. Zak to everyone I know because my experience has been so positive. Update: Dental care is great. Not upfront about pricing.

Experiencia positiva: Recently had a tooth removed and the base for a implant. Dr. Jacob Augstine removed the tooth and set the base for the implant. He was gentle and very professional. He was explaining the procedure as he worked step by step. I was expecting a 2 hour procedure that was completed in 50 minutes. Dr Jacob Augestine is a specialist working with Zak Dental of Simi Valley, highly recommend!!

I was coming to have a surgergical procedure to get my cracked wisdom tooth out, keep in mind, i HATE coming to the dentist. Experiencia negativa: The appointment was very disappointing as I advise the front desk reception I should not be charge as the insurance was through state insurance but insisted I needed to pay $80.00 copayment for a consultation. In addition, my daughter appointment was schedule at 9:30am and wasn't seen until 10:15am. The dentist took some X-rays of my daughter and implied the type of x-ray machine could not determine the view of the bottom wisdom root location and advised I go to another office to receive a CT scan? The up charge of Zak Dental is ridiculous with pretending unnecessary work that needs to be done to extract 4 wisdom teeth. I have filed a complaint with the board to have your office investigated of fraud and not following protocol of collection copayments when clearly states legally you should NOT! My copayment was refunded but its the principle, your staff should be educated. The upcharge your office wanted to charge is almost $7,000 if the insurance wasn't going to cover it vs with insurance approximately close to $3,000. I went to seek a second opinion and clearly your office is taking advantage of patience. FRAUD is what your office is about. This email was sent to Zak Dental in Simi Valley.

Experiencia negativa: ** coming back 5 years later to report that I still have zero cavities/oral pain. Dr. Zak attempted to rip me off with an insane list of procedures I 'needed done' totaling $1,621 ($769 with my lackuluster, self-employed insurance). I got a second opinion from Dr. Sprague at Rosewood Dental. Out of a list of 10 treatments Zak suggested, I only actually needed one tiny filling and a regular cleaning. The most erroneous procedure Dr. Zak suggested was a 'Full Mouth Debridement' - a procedure for mouths that are so full of plaque that a regular cleaning wouldn't even suffice. Attached is a picture of my mouth to show that that is completely unnecessary. It didn't feel like an honest review of my mouth from Dr. Zak and that he was reaching. 2 stars since office staff was helpful and accommodating.

Experiencia fantástica: My dentist was very nice in answering my questions. I know that implant procedure could be very painful (with all the drilling and screwing in of the metal implant into the jawbone) and stressful, my dentist kept my pain to a minimum where there's no pain in the tooth itself, but only from my mouth being kept open and pulled to the maximum (which is unavoidable).

Experiencia negativa: My appointment was at 9:50am and arrived at 9:55am, still within the grace period. But 40-minute for the dentist to do a cleaning is too long, don’t you think? Why schedule a patient at a particular time when the dentist is not available for some reason. Not cool. Respect the other person’s time who made it to the appointment.

Experiencia negativa: Worst dentist I have ever been to. Had two root canal's go bad here and they charged me to fix them. What makes it worse is they didnt seem to care. Just bad management of whos doing the work. Rushed - get in get out and pay hurry up.

Experiencia negativa: Bad experience. I called and made an appointment for myself and my son. My son's appointment was first and mine was going to be the next day due to availability. Setting that up was no problem. I mentioned my son's age and they said they only do 8am and 1pm appointments for kids under 2 years old, so I chose the 8am time. When the day came, my wife and I took the day off since this was our son's 1st time at the dentist and our son also missed school for this.The pediatrician recommended he sees a dentist now that he has teeth. Well bad customer service since we walked through that door. Not much of a greeting. Asked for patients name and that was it. We waited 40 minutes to be told doctor was late (again we had an appointment) and they were unable to assist us because of my son's age. The doctor didn't even try, what a complete waste of time. They don't care at all. Management should tell the call center to not accept young kids because they can't help them or they'll just waste other's time. Very unpleasant. Of course I canceled my appointment as well. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.

Got there and staff member just asked for the patient’s name and that was it . Sat there for 30 mins and they say nothing . Husband got up and said something and the blonde lady said the Dr. is running late . She couldn't tell us that before ? Then she takes us in and said we might not be able to do anything because he is so young. ( prior to choosing this dentist, they told my husband on the phone they take kids) Dr. finally shows up takes one look at us and said I don't think I'm gonna be able to help him. We don't do kids here. I will send you a referral. So after all that waiting. Knowing that you don't take kids here 40 minutes of our time wasted sitting there . you're gonna tell us you don't take kids? Also, they were not busy at all. It was at eight in the morning and there was only one patient before us. If I can give no stars. I would . Beyond unprofessional and attitude from the staff . I was very sweet and polite greeting them too. So this was again beyond disgusting to experience. I would not recommend this place at all .

Experiencia fantástica: My dentist/orthodontist, very nice and hard working staff and accepts my insurance, also Dr Ward always does a great job on my teeth making me feel much better and comfortable also experience with a warm welcome and nice calm environment and asks questions in a positive way to me, nothing but good things to say and never makes me feel bad about my teeth when i first get in. Great guy I will say though Zak Dentals payment problems make me have to deduct there office to a three star (not the doctor mention he is a 5 still) but I don't recommend to go down the path of monthly payments, it is a headache and they will overcharge your card possibly as I had a problem with.

Experiencia fantástica: This will just be brief since its my first time being in this clinic and had my first filling done today and it was a bit behind schedule but the scheduled doctor was actually very efficient and fast on his work. Everyone was very friendly too. Highly recommend this place. They also offer programs for monthly if you don't have a dental insurance to cover the expenses.

I got my teeth extracted and it was a very smooth experience. They also accept medi-cal too so if you have that this is a great option for you.

Experiencia positiva: For more than a year I've been to a few dental offices here in Simi Valley and my experiences at each were/are horrendous. I still have NO teeth fixed and 3 teeth missing in front. I have been isolated, too ashamed to eat or speak in public. It's been a nightmare, to say the least. I need one tooth extracted in front but cannot afford it because it needs a bone graft, so I've been told, which my insurance does not pay for and I can't afford.... so I've been unable to get ANY of my dental work done because no dental office would remove the tooth and they ask for $450-$500 out-of-pocket. Yesterday I went to Zak Dental and spoke with Dr. Ward... he sat with me and explained EVERY phase of what he will do to fix my entire mouth! He was amazing! He told me EXACTLY what I need done and that he would bypass my needing that bone graft! I now have HOPE of FINALLY getting this nightmare over with and of no longer having to hide because of my teeth! What a HUGE amount of depression Dr. Ward relieved me of... I cannot THANK him enough.... And Zak Dental is SO much better, much more professional than all the other dental offices I've been to. I cannot wait to get started ! THANK YOU, Dr. Ward !!!!

Experiencia negativa: I always feel unclear and uneasy about what exactly is going on. No one is ever able to give me a clear answer to any question, and they seem to get agitated that I ask questions about treatment plans. I don’t like how they just give you a pen pad, but don’t show you what you’re signing. The whole experience is a nightmare, but since I was new to the area and needed to get my daughter back in the swing of things post Covid and our relocation, I’ve been trying to roll with the punches. Since I had the time to respond to the request for a review, here it is. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you have private insurance
