In reality the voicemail said hi give us a call not we are cancelling. I said ok can I reschedule then. She was all flustered and said I’ll just write your name down. I’m like u can book it 5 months from now it’s nothing urgent. Still flustered and cuckoo so I said okay nvm I’ll just call back another day. So I reschedule with someone else. Get the text alerts for my appointment. Then the day before my actual appointment the time is changed from when I scheduled it. What is going on. lol. I have a kid with a disability. I can’t deal with scheduling insanity. This is dumb. I have to find a new dentist.

As a military member with experience receiving dental care across the globe, I can confidently say this office stands out. The front desk staff is exceptionally welcoming and proactive. During one visit, I had forgotten to obtain my approved control number from United Concordia. Rather than letting it become an issue after the fact, they caught it immediately and asked whether I had it on hand. I was able to retrieve the approval number in just a couple of minutes on UC’s website—ultimately saving me nearly $1,000. That level of attentiveness and advocacy for patients is rare and so appreciative. The hygienists I’ve seen have been phenomenal—Heather and another whose name I regrettably can’t recall—but the quality of care was consistently excellent. While I haven’t required higher-level dental procedures, I can confidently speak to the professionalism, efficiency, and patient-focused approach of this office overall. I would absolutely recommend this specific Konikoff Dental location to anyone seeking reliable, high-quality care.

The front desk team is particularly welcoming and nice, and they are completely upfront about all costs, so there are never any financial surprises, which really shows they care. When I went for my teeth cleaning, the hygienist was cool and made me feel very comfortable. I was even able to put in my headphones and listen to some calming music during the procedure, which made a huge difference. They also have TVs in each room, and you can request to watch whatever show you want! Later, when I came back for some fillings, the doctor was incredibly knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and was super friendly. I also appreciate how they don't try to "upsell" you on extra, unnecessary items, which I appreciate since I've experienced that elsewhere. I highly recommend this dental office!

Experiencia positiva: As a new patient to Konikoff Edinburgh, I had no complaints about the service I received, and everyone I encountered was both friendly and professional. My only “complaint” is that there was nobody at reception when I arrived and I had to wait for someone to come out to get me checked in. I had forwarded my most recent x-rays, as requested at appointment setup, but they weren’t aware of them and had to go looking for them. Also, I called twice during the couple of months leading up to my appointment. I only got voice mail each time - once around the time the appointment was made and the second time was the week before my appointment (to ensure they in fact received my x-rays) I left a message both times but my calls were never returned. I brought this up at checkout and was told they were short staffed and were working to improve things. I made a follow up appointment, and am hoping to see improvements in administrative processes prior to my next visit.

Dr. Kasternak was thorough, gentle, kind and reassuring to me during the exam and her dental assistant was awesome and very gentle as well. I’m in good hands with Dr. Kasternak and I feel quite confident thru time and a visit to the Endodontist combined with continued dental care from Dr. Kasternak, I will have my perfect front teeth back. Experiencia positiva: It took me almost a year to get an appointment for a cleaning. When I finally got there, most of the time was spent trying to upsell me on products and services I did not need. I even was told I have dry mouth (that, of course, could be corrected with a certain product they'd be happy to sell me, along with fluoride treatments, mouthguards, deep cleaning, special toothpaste etc.etc.), when in reality I have been struggling with excess saliva for several years. The result of all this sales pressure is that I now have a hard time trusting what they say, and I have doubts when they tell me I need work done, so I won't be able to continue here. In the end, the cleaning itself was okay, but probably could have been done in half the time without all the blatant attempts at upselling.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter had teeth cleaning- no issues. I had teeth cleaning- no issues. Told I need to have cavities re-filled. During re-filling, we have to add more numbing. Doc & asst spoke over my face about their weekend plans and drama. Completed but sensitive for two weeks. I can’t even eat on that side. I return to have sensitivity fixed. Doc grinding down part of my bridge where it helped a bit but didn’t resolve the issue completely. Told to wait 1-2 weeks for sensitivity to go away. Still can’t eat on that side. Got an appt with little neck office with Dr Rivera- my FAVE dentist EVER- and after his asst and himself look at xray, they determine that cavity was filled too close to root. I’m on one med, back up med, with a referral for endo. Not a fan of Edinburg office and will drive out to little neck for their staff.

The customer service is absolutely awful, the staff are rude and completely unprofessional, and they act like they don’t care at all about their patients. They never answer the phone, never return calls, and it’s literally impossible to get through to anyone. They constantly overcharge, send bills for things that were never even done, and lie about what insurance will cover just to squeeze more money out of you. It’s a complete scam. Everyone in my family is leaving Konikoff. I am genuinely concerned for any patient that goes here because of how dishonest and careless they are. I wouldn’t recommend Konikoff to my worst enemy.

I have been so welcome and comforted by their services that I have gone to the dentist more in the last 8 years than I have gone in the first 30 years of my life.after they fixed my periodontal disease and gave me a solid periodontal plan which allowed me to strengthen and keep my loosening teeth, they suggested I speak to an orthodontist to give me a whole new smile I never though I could have. They put me on a plan for a whole knew oral health routine.

I was deeply impressed with this visit without preschaduled because I got immediate care from those who I met .I especially appreciate Stefanie, receptionist for her kindness,, patience and help.

Also, she was not interested in trying to find a solution/treatment that wasn’t 19th century dentistry aka tooth extraction. Would have loved the option of a second opinion of a more experienced dentist, I think. I will say the dental hygienist was kind and helpful- everything the dentist herself seemed not to be.

Experiencia negativa: I came here to get two fillings done. A couple of months later, one of them fell out. I called to have it fixed, but was told I needed to come in for an exam first. That “exam” lasted about 30 seconds and confirmed what I already knew — the filling had fallen out and needed to be replaced. The dentist who originally did the work wasn’t available, so I had to book yet another appointment just to get it fixed. A few weeks after getting that one repaired, the other filling from the same original visit also fell out. It’s frustrating to deal with work that didn’t hold up and to have to make multiple extra trips just to get it corrected. Not the experience I was hoping for.

Experiencia fantástica: You need to tell the patient about all the charges . I was not told that the insurance did not take care of the temporary teeth. I thought the insurance took care of it. What a shock when they said, it will be $1,148.00 (out of pocket). One person said, will you signed to paid what the insurance didn't pay. Yes, after the insurance paid some of the cost. This was every shocking to be hit with this kind of cost, all out of the blue.

Experiencia negativa: Needless to say I won't be returning to for any future appointments and I DEFINITELY won't recommend this particular office (Edinburgh location) to anyone I know! After what I thought was a good appointment, I was woken up from laughing gas to be told that I had fallen asleep because I believe she had turned up the laughing gas to high! But going forward I would need to be referred out to another dentist for medium sedation to complete the rest of my dental work. I have NEVER had a problem with laughing gas or have fallen asleep during a dental procedure in the 10 years I've used laughing gas and I have a lot of teeth issues. I do not need mild sedation maybe the dentist should evaluate the volume of how much laughing gas she gives a patient. Again, I can only assume because I was asleep and have no memory last I looked at the clock it was 5:10pm and when I looked at it again it was 6:00pm. I'd think twice before going to this location. Don't get me started on the wait time to be seen. My appt time was for 4pm and I waited 45mins between the front office, back room sitting in the dental chair and waiting to be seen by the dentist. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else or to the Cedar Road location and stay away from the dentist that services with laughing gas, there's only 1 in the whole practice! Disappointed customer

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter (10) was very happy with her entire cleaning experience. My oldest (16) has extremely sensitive teeth and gums and usually has bad experiences at the dentist. She also had an amazing cleaning experience that calmed any anxiety she went in with. We recently had to leave our beloved dentist due to insurance change. Konikoff at Edinburgh eased all the anxiety with change and made us feel at home. We will be scheduling new patient appointments there for the rest of our family.

My hygienist was friendly, helpful, gentle, and understanding. My dentist was very cordial and great to talk to about my check-up. Check-out was quick and easy. The young lady was efficient and cheerful, chatting with me while printing my receipt.

Experiencia negativa: This dental office has EXCELLENT hygienists and dentists. However, I hesitate to go back to this location simply because of the administrative side of the house. I was put in a frustrating position as an active duty military member. When the admin office failed to correctly submit the pre-authorization code prior to a procedure, I moved forward with the “approved” procedure thinking I was fully covered with my “approval” from United Concordia/Tricare ADDP. Initially, the dental office told me I owed nothing afterwards. Then they realized they did not bill for the procedure correctly, and told me I owed the money. However, the admin did not submit the correct code, and on the back end I ended up paying because the insurance was never “notified” I was getting this care in advance, and the dental office said the insurance denied the claim. Tricare called the office repeatedly to try and resubmit claims, which extended the process months as the dental office repeatedly submitted incorrect dental codes for the claim. After finally submitting the claim correctly with help from a friendly Tricare representative, the claim (and ultimately my appeal to the denied claim) was denied by the insurance at the end due to “no pre authorization” which the dental office failed at. Essentially, an incorrect code led to me, the patient, sitting down for a procedure unknowingly not covered, and the insurance felt blindsided as well without knowing about it, so they denied it as well. I felt taken advantage of in this situation because I was never given the opportunity to deny or accept the care, since all paperwork pointed toward this being fully covered. Word of advice, never sign the financial responsibility form, as an active duty member we will never have to pay. Civilian providers do not understand that Tricare has zero co pay and that it is NOT normal for active duty to get a bill…except in situations like this.

I have been coming here for over 3 years, and have never had a complaint. ***I made this review some years ago, but I still go to the same office. Some of the staffing and doctors have changed, but the care remains the same. I drive about 45mins from my home to receive care here, and it's always been worth it.***
