Experiencia fantástica: I was a patient here today with an emergency chipped tooth that was very painful. I am not a real tolerant person especially when I'm in pain. I was treated with kindness and empathy. They took the time to work out a solution that was in my budget. The doctor was very professional but kind and took a personal interest in making sure I got everything I needed. I left without the intense pain I came in with. Thank you!

Experiencia negativa: I want to express my deep disappointment regarding an interaction I had with your office today. When I first became a patient at Next Dentistry, I was incredibly pleased with the wonderful staff and the welcoming, comfortable environment. I have since referred my husband, son, niece, and nephew to your practice because I believed in the quality of care provided. Unfortunately, that perception changed this morning. I had an appointment that I urgently needed to keep, but an emergency arose at my home care agency. A caregiver for a client requiring 24-hour care called off 20 minutes before their shift, and as the owner, I had to personally step in to ensure the client was not left alone. When I called to explain the situation and ask if I could come in at a later time, the individual I spoke with informed me that I would have to wait until the 24th and pay a $75 fee. Despite explaining that my tooth is barely hanging on and that I cannot wait that long, I was offered no assistance or referrals. When I reiterated that I could not leave an elderly patient alone, I was simply told that a $75 statement would be sent to me. I have met all the dentists in your office and found everyone to be compassionate and caring, which is why this rigid and dismissive response was so shocking. I value your practice, but I am very disappointed by how this emergency was handled. I hope we can find a way to resolve this matter. Thank you, Adriana

Honestly, I thought I might get a little foot massage why my tooth was being done. Humor aside I left without pain. I had a filling removal and replacement he built up my tooth and it looked brand new.The prices are comparable to the area and the staff were very kind and friendly.

The workers always offer me a blanket when it’s cold, a weighted blanket to ease my anxiety, and allow me to pick a form of entertainment (movie or show) on the tv during my visits. Today I was in the care of Ms. Candy and I always am relieved to be in her hands. She never fails to tend to my needs and answer any and all questions. She is a great conversationalist and has informed me of ways to reduce bacteria in my mouth as someone who is very prone to cavities! Overall I am pleased with my care here from the workers at the front desk to the hygienist and the dental doctors!

Experiencia negativa: My wife told me about Next Dentistry because they were offering a promotion. I came in for a consultation/quote. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and professional. I got x-rays done to see if I needed work and, to my surprise, I needed a lot of work, according to the dentist. I had a bunch of cavities and fillings that needed to be replaced. My teeth had always been in good condition and I wasn't in any pain or discomfort. The dentist then referred me to a person (same office) to talk about my insurance coverage and how much $ it would cost to do all of the work I supposedly needed. This person told me my insurance covered 100% and I would pay nothing. I asked her to double-check because I thought it covered only 80%. She said she was sure. Not being sure how dental insurances work, I thought this dentist office had a special contract with my dental insurance (Delta) and hence why it covered 100%. I was happy about that and made an appointment to start the dental work. I came in a few days later and had a filling replaced. Midway through the procedure, the doctor told me I had a crack in one of my other molars and recommended a crown. "Why didn't the xrays catch it?" I asked. He gave me a lame excuse and recommended we worked on it that same day "or else it would give me problems later." That seemed fishy to me, so I turned down the offer and asked to leave it for the future. After a few weeks, I received a bill for almost $700 from the dentist. I was floored. I went to the offices and asked why I was being charged if I was assured my insurance would cover in full. They told me their quotes "are just estimates." I was furious. "No, being off by $50 or even $100 is an inaccurate estimate. Being off by almost $700 is deliberately trying to mislead people!" They were charging me $700 for a filling, imagine if I would have accepted the crown! I told them I had proof of the quote they gave me and told them it was not fair. I used the promotion they gave my wife to bring down my costs to under $200, but I was still livid! I decided to go back to my trusty dentist in Watsonville (I wanted to find someone in Salinas to not drive so far), and to make matters worse, he told me I had ZERO cavities and that my fillings were in great condition! Next Dentistry "dentists" are crooks! Question everything they tell you! Believe nothing of what they say and only half of what you see! You've been warned!

She made me feel comfortable. I was very nervous, as going to the dentist already is. This office offers every comfort possible for relaxation: your chair is a soothing sage green which MASSAGES, wall hook for purse/ jacket, individual ceiling TV with a noise proof Bluetooth headset set at YOUR choice of channel, calming water features in your space or you can see the outside water fountain from a window. Petra cleans my teeth, sets up my next appointment from HER computer, presents me a goody bag (regular size toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, floss, and tube of lip moisturizer ).

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been to this dentistry practice for many years. Dr. Hemingway recently sold the practice who was the original founding dentist. I recently got 2 crowns done, I paid my copay of $1900 after they apparently got it approved by the insurance. A month goes by and they send me a bill for over $500 that supposedly the insurance didn’t pay. So instead of going after the insurance they send you the bill. Then they threaten late fees. This is a greedy shady business with no ethics. I’m not going here anymore. I used to drive 40 mins each way to come get my dental work done but not if they are a greedy business. My crowns don’t even fit right. I’m actually a doctor and my dad is a dentist and this place is insulting. Sorry to be vulgar but this is the truth. I hope everyone to be happy and healthy which would be best served by finding a different place to get your dental work. I really don’t like leaving bad reviews but I’m sorry I’m pretty upset and wish your establishment good luck with how you determine to serve your patients.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this dentist office. All of the employees are very sweet and have your best interest in mind. They make you feel comfortable and relaxed with their massage chairs, tv, and neck pillows. Petra Martinez was my hygienist and she was amazing. I told her my jaw was hurting and she gave me a warm towel and light massage to make it feel better.

I couldn’t be more happy I picked somewhere that was very friendly knowledgeable, and explained the whole process prior hand. I was able to get my work done by Petra, she was very friendly and made the experience be one of the best I have ever had at a dentist. Experiencia positiva: I really wish I could rave about this place. The people are great. The atmosphere is nice and they offer plenty of ways to make the experience comfortable. My one gripe is this: I've had several fillings done here but more often than not, they have broken. I feel like I'm back for repairs more often than I've ever been in all my adult years of going to the dentist. I think the repairs have happened within their guaranteed time, which means I don't get charged for it, and I really appreciate that. However, why does my dental work fail so frequently? Is it part of the long game to get me to opt for the more expensive material? Last time I was there to repair a slightly cracked partial crown, it took 5 hours of failed attempts that culminated in a temporary crown, meaning I still have to go back again. They really go above and beyond to provide good service, but why does your porcelain suck?

Experiencia fantástica: Rocio was very knowledgeable and explained my fractured tooth situation extremely well. She even had a video that showed the situation and possible treatments/next steps. Dr. V explained the next steps well and was quite helpful in reaching a decision. My teeth cleaning with Petra was a great experience! They’ve got TVs and Bose noise-canceling headphones that allowed me to catch the Giants pregame. Chapstick and the warm towel were a nice touch as well. The front receptionist took time to explain the financial side clearly. I haven’t felt rushed in this office at all, as everyone takes time to listen carefully to each question and need, which def. adds to the positive XP. Experiencia fantástica: I just had my first visit to Next Dentistry and..WOW! It is hands down the nicest dental office I have been to. Sam did my cleaning, and was absolutely incredible. I felt no discomfort and he made sure I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time. If you’ve ever been hesitant to get a cleaning before because of pain, request Sam and all of your worries will go away. I’ll be back in 6 months for my next cleaning!

Today I saw Sam for my cleaning which was simply a breeze. He was very experienced, professional, and took such great care with my extra sensitive spots that I had absolutely no discomfort at all. Amazing!! The patient comforts are fantastic and will make you a lifelong patient here. Experiencia fantástica: I received excellent care from Dr. Roos today. He was so thorough, knowledgeable personable and honest. I was scheduled to have a filling done today in a suspected cavity found by another provider. Upon a thorough assessment of both the X-rays and the suspected tooth, Dr. Roos said there wasn’t a cavity. I really appreciated his honesty! I have heard of horror stories of patients being “hustled” by other dentists. I am so pleased to be a new patient of Dr. Roos! I will definitely be spreading the word!

Experiencia fantástica: This post is long overdue. Petra is my hygienist and I think the world of her. Believe it or not, I actually look forward to going to the dentist because of Petra Martinez. She is awesome! When I leave after a cleaning from Petra my teeth sparkle and why wouldn't they, it seems to me that Next Dentistry uses the most advanced dental technology. Of course I haven't been to any other dentist in many years and I really don't want to. A big shout out to Petra and her friendly personality and professional mannerisms and above all her amazing dental skills. I love this lady!

Not only did she make me feel comfortable but throughougly explained everything as she went along. Experiencia fantástica: I started as a patient with Next Dentistry about 4 years ago, after a long break from going to the Dentist. My teeth needed some work and I was very hesitant to get started. Dr. Hemingway and his staff have been fantastic and I now enjoy going for my appointments. I have recommended Next Dentistry to family members and co-workers and I recommend them to you! Update: Dr Hemingway has brought on some new staff, but managed to maintain the same amazing customer experience. Glad to have Candy as my new dental hygienist! Yet another update (Feb 2022): Dr Hemingway sold the practice and retired. I was concerned the patient experience would change, but I’m glad to say it is still great. Candy is hygienist and does a great job both cleaning my teeth as well as putting me at ease. Going to the dentist does not have to be stressful!!
