Experiencia fantástica: This place was friendly and kind, I had to bring my daughter which is 4 months old to my dental exam at the Minnesota location. At first Ari, my daughter, was doing reallly good. But then all of sudden started to cry and I was worried that it would mess with the dentist’s focus. But the dental assistant offered to have one of the girls up front walk around with her, which I thought was so sweet. But when I picked her up out of her car seat she was soaking wet and I didn’t have an extra pair of clothes and I left my diaper bag in the truck. The dentists assistant offered to give me an extra pair of clothes, from her car! I was so appreciative of how nice and friendly they all were, shout out to Shelly!!

They both were incredibly patient, kind, and gentle, taking the time to explain each step in a way that made both of us feel comfortable. Experiencia negativa: AVOID THIS PLACE Classic bait-and-switch scam. Went in for a teeth cleaning. Wasted an hour of my time, then told me they wouldn’t do a regular cleaning. They would only do a deep clean for $1200!! They took an extraordinary amount of fancy X-ray’s, which I assume they are going to charge my insurance company a ton for. Dentist said no cavities and all looked fine. I’m 59 years old, with some normal age related bone decay. All I wanted was a normal teeth cleaning. Nope!! I guess they don’t make enough on that procedure. Bait and switch! After wasting more than an hour, I still need to get my teeth cleaned.. Go elsewhere.. lots of other good, ethical dentists in Sioux Falls.

Experiencia positiva: My hygienist was great. I feel that regardless of the dentist, the hygienist is really the one who makes or breaks a dentist. Equally important is transparency and honesty. Upon my arrival I was informed of an additional charge I would be assessed for an additional x-ray that did not align with my Insurance plan. Our family makes good practice of ensuring we know the details of all our medical/dental benefits to make decisions and budgeting easier, this was not part of either plan. After being informed that a bitewing x-ray was needed and that because it was done last year, it would not be covered. I immediately questioned this, as of all my years of visiting a dentist, this was never a thing. I was told by the office manager that they require a yearly x-ray and that as a common courtesy they want to inform patients of this charge prior to the procedure. (Which I appreciate). When I questioned the necessity of the procedure I was told that “The ADA requires this and that yearly bitewing x-rays are part of those requirements and are necessary to ensure compliance with licensure requirements.” I agreed to sign after hearing this after stating I wasn’t aware. While i waited to be called back I did what any curious person would do and started looking for information either confirming or refuting what I had just heard. It didn’t take long to see that what I was told by the office manager was incorrect. But, I had signed the consent and was already there so went back when I was called. After my appointment was nearing an end the doctor came to check the hygienists work and check in on me. When I was asked if I had any questions or concerns I brought up my experience with the front desk and what I was told. I told the doctor that I was confused and that what I was told was not consistent with what I could see as it relates to the ADA and licensure. The doctor started to talk about how insurance companies don’t have the best interest of patients in mind when determining frequency and coverage (not a lot of disagreement here) and that it is best practice to have them done yearly. I expressed I was well aware of the difference between best practice and requirements, but that the office managers rationale felt dishonest. I was most disappointed that when given a chance to just say something to the effect of “it is not a requirement for licensure or of the ADA, however it is a standard of practice at my clinic. I will follow up with her on how she explains it to patients moving forward, thanks for bringing it to my attention,” the doctor said nothing of the sort. He got defensive and visibly upset (while remaining calm) regarding my questions. I offered feedback saying that I had to complete a number of forms prior to my visit, and that it could be helpful to add something like this to those forms. Explaining why they chose to practice this way and that additional costs, not covered by dental insurances should be expected. This too wasn’t met with much care, which is fine…it is their practice and they are a for profit entity and should do what they want. I thanked him for his time and made clear I wasn’t questioning his integrity but would like more transparency and accountability moving forward. He left and the hygienist finished my appointment. I walked to the front desk, paid for my procedure and left. I will not be returning and will look to have my dental records sent else where.

Which I would think it was common sense to update all the phone numbers. So now they won’t let my children go here after we have been using them for 3 years. Don’t use this place they don’t even try to understand peoples situations.

The hygienist and the dentist were both helpful and made sure to go over any concerns I had. All their explanations were clear and easy to understand. It was relaxing and not stressful at all!

Experiencia negativa: Went in to have two teeth pulled he decided to send me onto Sioux Falls surgical for what he won’t tell me then says I have an infection, but don’t give me an anabiotic until I asked for it after my appointment when I was gonna walk out without one don’t waste your time coming here to get a tooth pulled all they like to do is clean teeth!

Experiencia negativa: Have been a regular customer for years and for the most part had a good experience until recently. Cancelled my appointment 2 days in advance only to be billed $90 anyway. They harassed me daily with text messages and letters in the mail because I refused to pay the fee for a missed appointment that I had canceled. I’ve paid their fee and won’t ever go back or recommend anyone there ever again.

Professional and friendly staff. Extremely well maintained site, and they have excellent equipment. Pricing is really good too; when I first got there I didn't have insurance, but they have an in-house plan for a very reasonable, in my opinion, price, and it gives you access to cleanings, check-ups, and other procedures at competitive prices (please check with them for exactly what it's included)

Experiencia positiva: seems like the importance of the visits is to get paid instead of taking care of the customers. need to sign 2 sheets of paper about who is responsible for the bill when the visit is over. This does not sit good with me no other DR office i go to asks you to sign a paper of who is responsible. Just had a 30,000 knee surgery not once did they ask me to pay up front or after i left the recovery room like this place does.

Dr. Hruby responded and gave me direction that he would take care of me first thing the morning. Went to the office and received top notch care from the front desk, hygienist and most especially Dr. Hruby. Dr. Hruby explained my dental procedure (root canal) and was gentle and kind. His staff explained everything and took superb care of me. My family has a new dental practice! Thank you!!!! Update: It has been about 2.5 since my initial visit and my family continues to see Dr. Hruby and team for my regular dental care and we always have a great experience. Genuine professional care and nice people.

Experiencia negativa: I would NOT recommend this office to anyone who cares about using their insurance properly. We as patients are always told that it's "the patient's responsibility to know your insurance coverage" so of course I verified with my insurance what it covered and what would be required for me to get new retention retainers. Per my insurance, they stated that they require a pre authorization for all orthodontic services. When I came in for my appointment I made sure to let the admin staff know that I needed a replacement on my retainers and that I would need them to submit a pre auth. The office manager seemed to ignore me at first and said that I had to pay the FULL cost of two sets of retainers (I only needed one) as "they have a hard time getting paid by insurance for ortho". When I insisted that I wanted them to submit a pre auth as that was what my insurance requires, the manager ROLLED HER EYES. She said that they don't normally do that but "will make an exception" and made it out to be a great ordeal to do the one thing my insurance requires. They told me that they would submit it and then call me when they heard back. It's been a whole month and they haven't called me and I haven't received anything in the mail from my insurance which makes me think they never sent it in the first place. Between the rudeness and condescending attitude of the staff, namely the office manager, and the feeling that they were trying to scam me of my money without working with my insurance that they said they accepted put such a bad taste in my mouth. Don't go there if you need anything other than a cleaning.

They told me my sensitivity was from gum recession whereas I was previously told by a different office that it was from cavities (they were going to charge me $300 for fillings that aren’t even needed!). Experiencia fantástica: Honestly my best experience with a provider, ever, in any field. It was my initial appointment as a new patient. I was immediately informed I had a panoramic x ray 2 years prior, and they also needed one, however my insurance wouldn't cover it. They said if they can't locate my past x ray, they would cover the cost. I was blown away by not being forced to learn a hard lesson simply by doing what I was advised I needed without any information, like most providers would normally do. They located my old x-rays. I've never had that happened before. Usually I end up paying unforeseeable bills I can't afford. It was definitely a refreshing experience. I was blown a way with how it didn't seem about the money, and how much work they put in to ensure I saved money. Without even have history with me as a patient. Maybe humanity isn't completely lost.

Experiencia fantástica: Quick, thoroug pleasant experience. The dental hygienist was super friendly without overwhelming me. She was very accommodating to my general health requirements to make the appointment successful. The Dentist checked everything over thoroughly as well. The lobby was quiet and the restroom clean. I only have two complaints. The intake paperwork update took over an hour to complete, and I had all of the information handy to complete it. The building layout was an open design for the hygienist stations, meaning one could hear many conversations, cleaning equipment and other machines going on top of each other. It was fair to describe it as noisy. Over all, the skill and demeanor of the staff definitely made up for the drawbacks. Update 10/24/2023: Much quieter this time. An urgent medical incident unrelated to any oral procedure occurred during my cleaning. I was impressed by the professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate responses by the staff, including my hygienist Anna and my dentist, Doctor Ruby, DDS.

Experiencia negativa: The hygienist I had was not good. He was a temp, not a regular at this office. He talked too much. He described everything he was doing, which was gross. He told me I had nice teeth and then proceeded to tell me I brush too hard, should get a water-pik, and that I don't floss correctly. He was kind of rough and my mouth hurt when I was done, which has not happened before. The dentist & regular staff have always been great!
