Experiencia fantástica: Visiting family in the area and came in on a Monday with an emergency. Seen promptly, and they even set up a same day endodonic appointment for me for a root canal in another clinic. It will be done on Tuesday, and I will make my Danube River cruise on Friday. Wonderful office and professional staff.

Experiencia positiva: Everything about the visit was fine. But finding out that most places offer a discount for paying cash is full-this place did not. Having just one crown is a super expensive cost and to not have insurance and pay full price when other offices offer paid in full cash discounts-it will definitely deter me from going to this office in the future. The staff there were all great though so if you have insurance I would recommend this place

Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience at Aspen Dental! Kate at the front desk was so sweet and welcoming. Taylor Jordan made my dental anxiety disappear instantly, she’s incredibly warm and comforting. Absolutely loved her. Bhathena was efficient, honest, and had such a great energy. Truly lit up the room. Aniceto De La Cruz was also so kind and reassuring, and made me feel like everything would be okay. This team made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Highly recommend, especially if you have dental anxiety!

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot say enough for Aspen Dental on Madison’s East Side. There is a neighborhood feeling even though it’s in the far east Shopping/Strip Mall wasteland. Everyone there from the reception desk to the nurses, the dental technician to Dr Bhathena call you by name, listen and actually try to understand and help. Dr Bhathena has the gentlest touch possible (as does her dental assistant- a kind and patient man whose name unfortunately has escaped my mind) which matters a lot to me as I not only am terrified of dentists in general but also have problematic teeth crammed into a small jaw. They take extra time to make things as easy as possible - something hard to find these days!

Experiencia negativa: This place has a quota to meet I'm sure. They prescribed periodontal disease to three patients while I was there including my family without legitimate proof and no dentist was present to talk about it. This is there way of getting extra money for cleanings. This place definitely needs to be investigated for dishonest dental practices. Very nice staff but there is dishonesty and insurance monetary gain here. Be careful. Aspen I hope you do better.

Experiencia negativa: Doctor was great since I have anxiety while coming to the dentist, but the billing lady kayla doesn't explain costs effectively, doesn't give out the right Information.... The only thing they held up was the initial 29$ start fee otherwise there are many hidden fees even with insurance they don't disclose.

Once xrays were complete and I was placed in a room, my fear kicked in and I started to shake, etc. They were so nice, friendly and supportive and helped me work through it and still do as the process moves forward. Experiencia fantástica: I checked in, and I was immediately on my way to a room. I broke a tooth in my dentures and needed it fixed. I was in there for maybe 15 minutes max. They then told me they should be done by 4, which was fine for me. I lost my gloves in there somewhere.....and couldn't find them. As I was leaving the clinic, I received a call telling me they found them. Yay! They ended up finishing at 2:40. I was again, in and out within 10 minutes. An excellent day today!

Experiencia negativa: I liked my dentist..alot..Dr. Bathena. She is the coolest, nicest, insightful person. She told me about my teeth. I said i could only afford one at a time. And that I MIGHT need a loan depending on pricing. She said okay we can do that. She sent me to a consultant to talk about the payment..This is fine...the consultant pushed me on all of the teeth that needed help. Told me I would have an $8,000 bill, then instantly tried to get me to sign it (all within 5 minutes). I declined and left. This is a turn off for me. I understand I could have sat and talked about it, but there was no breakup of the teeth or anything. It was just a bad approach and made me feel some sort of way. I will get this ONE tooth done for $2000 without a loan and move on to a different place. I will not be pushed this hard for my money.

Experiencia negativa: I found this place online because I didn’t have dental insurance and I was in a lot of pain. I asked what was the price for my first visit and was told twenty nine dollars and this cover my x-rays. After I had my x-rays and was examined by the doctor I was told I would get a call the next day I received the call she told me what I needed done and how much it would cost I was told to come in to the office to pay or get a payment plan and fill out paperwork. That’s exactly what I did I was informed that I only needed one extraction so I told her I would pay for it and the sedation and I would wait for my insurance to pay for the rest of my dental needs. I paid and the day of the oral surgery the doctor came in and said she was going to extract my upper right back molar I was surprised because I thought she was going to pull my cracked tooth on the left side. I was told it was more money for two extractions understandable but I told them I would pay for any extractions I needed and they only said I needed one when clearly I needed two. I was told by Kayla that when I came in I only complained about one tooth I’m not a doctor I trust this facility to take x-rays and give me a professional diagnosis. On top of that they were trying to do surgery on me in a room with a lot of totes and just looked not clean. I asked for a refund and she insured me I would get one to my surprise I was charged one hundred and fifty six dollars for a professional consultation I was never informed of this 1,532 was for one extraction and to pay for a anesthesiologist. This place was terrible.

Experiencia fantástica: I was seen promptly. My doctor went over my plan thoroughly, and answered my questions to my satisfaction. Talking with the money manager was pleasant, and she explained things well. Im adding later to this. After thinking about my exam, it seemed rushed. I was told, I needed 4 teeth removed and upper and lower dentures to fill gaps. I understood what she said, but I was also told it would be done all in the one appointment. I wasn't shown or nothing was visually shown about the xrays I had just had. I was thoroughly reasured everything will be fine, and all done at once. Im not comfortable with all in one day and will be calling to help me understand how I can get 4 teeth pulled and still get fitted for dentures. My logic is my mouth with heal and change shape because im older, and the dentures fitted same day will not fit correctly. Ill get clarification on that.

I will dispute any charges they make with my insurance company. Would not recommend unless you want to pay someone else to do what should have been done there.

Experiencia fantástica: Came here as a recommendation from my aunt. So glad I did. After one visit we had a whole game plan. 4 days later I got 6 teeth pulled. Didn’t feel a thing! And even now 3 days later haven’t even swelled or felt any kinda pain. (Just a little uncomfortableness but you 6 teeth) and got my partial the same day too!! Staff is absolutely wonderful and couldn’t have asked for better people.

I went in for a Crack tooth and I was really hoping to get it pulled the same day so I didn't have to make a trip back. by surprise the doctor was like I can do it!!! you want it out today? yes plz!!!! During the whole process of the pulling, the doctor made me feel at ease by checking up on me. oh.. also thank you to the dentist assistance for skipping her lunch to help get my tooth pulled. This was my 1st visit at Aspen Dental and they did not disappoint.

Experiencia fantástica: I have nothing but respect and gratitude for Aspen Dental. First time patient and initially missed my appt but they squeezed me in. Office staff was so sweet and patient with me throughout the process, and the billing dept went above and beyond to provide service even tho they didn’t take my insurance. However, I do plan on switching insurance so that I can stay with them moving forward. I had a molar that was infected and I was in pain for several weeks from (another Dentist in Madison area) but here at Aspen Dental, they immediately pulled it with NO issues at all! The Dentist was amazing and she took her time explaining step by step and wasn’t rushing. Professional, Personable, Friendly, Superb Service! Office nice and clean too! I’m so grateful for them!

Experiencia negativa: Can I give less than one star? I had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit. The hygienist rushed through the cleaning in under 20 minutes and did a poor job. I declined the fluoride treatment, yet it was still added to my bill. They also tried to charge me for a “bone loss assessment” treatment despite the fact that no dentist saw me and the hygienist couldn’t explain what he actually did. When I raised concerns, the office manager insisted on the charge without justification. This felt like a blatant attempt to overbill beyond what insurance covers. Extremely unprofessional and deceptive. Update - No one from Aspen reached out to me; instead, they sent me a bill for fabricated services! I don’t have time to fight this as my time is so much more valuable. My advice is to avoid this service provider!!

Experiencia positiva: This,was my first time at Aspen Dental and I was very pleased with the helpfulness, kindness, concern, and clear next steps. They didn't try to pressure me into more complex treatment. The only concern was I had to wait a long time for the hygienist so the appointment took close to 1 1/2 hours.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Bhathena (I'm sorry if that is incorrect spelling) was great. She was friendly and careful, and made sure I understood exactly what she was telling me. I didn't catch the nurse's name who took the x-rays but she was also very nice and friendly. It was a much better visit than I expected.

Hope you have time to listen, yesterday I called Aspen dental to set an appointment for a routine cleaning because my insurance benefits would be running out in a couple weeks… Aspen dental had no problem setting an appointment for me. Later in the afternoon I got a phone call saying they needed my insurance card so they could go over the treatment plan etc.… Little did I know that there was no appointment really being set to clean my teeth… All they want to do is get me in the door Bill my insurance company a lot of money and go over a treatment plan. I wasn’t looking for a treatment plan… I was looking for a cleaning. Fast-forward to this morning I arrived 20 minutes early. Everybody showed up a lot later… I filled out the questionnaire and waited they took my insurance card… Now it’s time for the x-rays… The young lady that did the x-rays was amazing And helpful… Now we’re gonna scan my teeth… So all these photographs and everything was taken still no cleaning then I was advised that the hygienist wasn’t there today and there wouldn’t be no cleaning but we would go over in her treatment plan and then find a way to set this up… All the while they knew I was there to get a cleaning. Yet they kept wanting to push this treatment plan. So the dentist… Tells me everything I know about my teeth condition which was addressed at a previous dentist… Then proceeds to tell me that The last six dental visits I had for routine cleaning shouldn’t have been able to be billed to insurance because I needed a special procedure done every four months not a routine cleaning every six months… I said well that’s weird because the place that did this periodontal deep cleaning Said my gums had improved to where they were supposed to and I would need the deep cleaning continued just a regular six months cleaning each six months and to keep an eye on it… Then I end up losing insurance with that dentist they went to a different dentist and same thing x-rays are fine deep cleanings not needed regular cleaning is fine… But yet again today I get told I need this procedure and they can’t do a regular cleaning. So again I’m told I’m not getting a cleaning who’s is very Upsetting to me because that’s why I was there. Well now all of a sudden we’re gonna treat this like a business transaction so they said go ahead and sit here in the waiting room the business Manager or finance manager or whatever the highest paid person there or whatever she is came and got me sent me down in her office… Just like I was buying a car oh well your insurance says this your insurance says that’s what we’re gonna do boom provides me a bill saying they’re gonna charge me $2400 or something like that for this procedure that I need… In my out-of-pocket expenses about $750… Again no cleaning… I said no there is no reason why that should be that much money for a routine maintenance… I have never been so pissed off in my entire life I’ve never been so misled, exploited I’ve never had my insurance company build $300 for x-rays just so somebody could try and upsell me and not provide me the minimum service that I was there to get… Again I went in for a cleaning and they had no intention of ever giving me a cleaning… Their only intention was to soak as much money out of my insurance company and out of me before I left for Florida knowing that if they sold the services they’d get the money to their office and I could follow up in Florida… Nothing but a bunch of scam artist and this is the absolute worst place I’ve ever been I would never walk foot in Aspen dental if it was the last dental place on earth… And I’m not kidding you about that… I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau… I will be contacting my insurance… And I’m definitely going to be consulting with an attorney to find out what kind of recourse I have for somebody doing this to me

From there, the team is able to make recommendations and discuss options that meet one’s individual needs. When schedules allow, offices do make the effort to offer treatment on the same day, but it’s not always possible. Experiencia negativa: I had appointment from them last April 6 @3:30pm. We (husband and 1 yr old daughter) left home early and drove 1 hour just to be there on time. We went there and the office was closed. I called customer service, he didn't even know what's going on. He tried to reach somebody and look for answer. Finally after waiting 30 minutes, he found out they closed that day because their system is not working. But nobody called me, messaged or send me an email to let me know about the cancellation of appointment. We waste our time and gas for nothing. This happend for the second time. You guys can do better. Simple call or text message to let your patient know that you cancelled the appt is not that hard. You're wasting people's time! Very poor communication.

Experiencia negativa: *UPDATE* I am writing an updated review due to my most recent experience with this very unpleasant establishment. My appointments along with my significant other’s appointments have continuously been rescheduled on the day of the appointment. I have had to call multiple times to get something rescheduled due to their lack of communication, preparation, and overall work that they do. The staff is rude a lot of the time and make you feel like an inconvenience being there. My most recent issue is their lack of communication to mention that X-Rays were NEEDED. Appointment was scheduled as just a routine CLEANING. Never once were x-rays even mentioned and upon arriving were then told the bill would be $400. When questioned why it was so expensive they stated due to needing the x-rays. Opted to decline x-rays and just proceed with the cleaning that was scheduled and was declined services. I can understand if x-rays are needed, but they need to voice that at the time of scheduling an appointment instead of just hitting someone with an expensive amount that is expected to be paid. Wasted time out of the work day to go to an appointment that couldn’t be done due their lack of communication. As someone without dental insurance, this is a major inconvenience as dental care is something that really has to be budgeted for and was not expecting to have to pay $400 at the time of the appointment. I was even asked ‘Well did you ask about x-rays’ to which I replied no as that is not my responsibility. It is the responsibility of the dental office to inform patients what their appointment is for. I do NOT recommend anyone to go here honestly. The establishment is not ran well and when they are faced with the complaints patients have they act as if it’s not an issue on their part. I requested a cal back from the manager as this has been an issue in the past with their very bad communication skills and A LOT of the reviews have stated this issue as well and prove a point that this dental office is not a good option. Overall not a terrible experience, but you get a 2 star review due to your lack of communication when wanting to reschedule. On multiple occasions I and others I have referred to your office have been rescheduled as we have shown up to the appointment, to be told you called, left voicemails, and sent text messages as there have been none of the such. It’s very frustrating. For being a dental clinic that doesn’t accept state insurance, the office is ran like a state funded dental facility.

Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff is so amazing and helpful. I had a bad tooth and got in right away and they pulled it and helped with financing which was a God send. The hygienist Ann was so amazing. Matthew was super helpful and so kind. The dentist was more than I could have hoped for! I recommend this office hands down a million times over!!

Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing! They work with you on payment plans and everything. I live paycheck to paycheck and had to miss appointments because I knew I wouldn't have $500 on me and allowing bad teeth that cause pain to be untreated can only result in loosing them. I'm so fortunate to find this place in time. They went over my insurance and out if pocket costs for future appointments and even got me a financial loan to help cover out if pocket costs. Nit only can I now get my root canals but I can get crowns too and don't have to worry about having missing teeth.

Experiencia negativa: Had appointment scheduled for year and then had it rescheduled 3 times within 2 weeks of appointment date. Appointment scheduled for 12:00, was 15 minutes early, no other patients. Was put in exam room, tech said she would get dentist. Came back 5 minutes later and asked if wanted dentures cleaned. Finally dentist came in with coat on, stated that she had gone out to get lunch but came back when told she had patient. Put 2 fingers in mouth, asked if any problems and said I was fine and could schedule for next exam in 6 months. Tech brought dentures back. I asked what was point of being seen today. States if I had abscess or problem. Informed her that if I did I would see someone immediately not at 6 month check. Have not seen same tech or dentist in over 2 years been there. Only kept going due warranty on dentures. That’s done and so am I with them. Would recommend finding n ding different dental provider.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience with Aspen Dental. They extracted all my upper teeth and replaced it with a denture. The procedure went well and this morning most of the bleeding has subsided and I was able to take the denture out, wash my mouth with saline water, brush my lower teeth, and drink cream of wheat for breakfast. My denture is back in my mouth and no pain. All the staff and the dentist were wonderful. Thank you all and may God bless all of you. I'll see you on Tuesday at 3:30.
Experiencia negativa: Appointment was at 3, didn't get in until 3:20pm, another 10 minutes before someone came to clean my dentures and said it would be only 20 minutes but took 35 minutes and when the dentist came in she glanced at my mouth and put one finger in and then declared everything was great and was I happy with the fit? I expected a dentist to actually look at the situations and give me an assessment, not a fly bye with the dentist. Not happy with how long and unimportant I felt as I was left sitting by myself in the exam room for so long. All in all an unpleasant experience. Would only go back as my warranty requires it and have never felt good about my contact with any of the dentists that I have seen so far.. only one assistant has ever impressed me with her care and attentiveness and I can't remember her name but she was the only one to ask questions and listened to what I was saying.

Experiencia negativa: I have a new pair of dentures since may of this year and they have cracked in half once and cracked down the right and left side. Traveling back and forth eight times. A total of 6 hrs and plenty of gas. I have an old pair of dentures that they have fixed for me with the same issue. To say I did pay for the repairs on my old pair. So I asked as a courtious if they would repair my old pair just so I had an extra pair. Just in case my new ones broke again. There reply appsolutly no that I would have to pay for repays. I didn’t think that was to much to ask for the incovienie of having to go back and forth eight. So don’t even give you a star.

Experiencia negativa: Called, broke tooth in denture. Can't go to work without denture so need to come in when I can wait for it. Made appointment for Oct 9th. Went in and they are "too busy" can't do it today. However, I was charged for replacement tooth. Made another appointment for 9AM today, Oct 17th. Told it would take less than 2 hours. Went in this morning and told "come back at 4 pm to pick up denture. " Tried to argue and was called a liar, they never promised 2 hours. Have to come home to pick up kids from school at 3:10. That is 3 trips to Madison for what was promised could be done in one. Worst place I have ever been

Tried.to change my plan and where.i get services WITHOUT my consent. What else is this person going.to.do to try to make her look.good?? I'm not willing to find.out.the hard way.
Experiencia negativa: Zero stars if I could. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE if you have ANY form/level of DENTAL ANXIETY. You will be treated as if you are “harassing” the staff because you are in fear of merely having an appointment. I visited this office a few months ago and had an initial consultation. Due to my dental anxiety I had moments of nervous tears, but went along with the process in complete control of myself. I waited for a while after the images were taken, where in the exam room I was able to calm myself a bit more. During the time I was in the chair waiting my daughter stopped by to pick up a set of house keys from me, exchanged pleasantries with the doctor (Dr. Vida), with both of us in the room before my daughter left the office. The exam continued afterwards. I was told some information I did not fully agree on, expressed my concerns in a calm manner, and left that day awaiting for a return phone call to go over my treatment plan; of which I never got a phone call. A few weeks later I received a letter in the mail from FedEx dismissing me as a patient because I simply was “harassing staff”. I was in shock to receive such a letter because I in ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WAS HARASSING ANY STAFF. My adult daughter was even there as a witness. I never spoke loudly, I never used vulgarity, I never threatened, I never treated anyone with disrespect, I never argued, I never touched anything or anyone. I don’t have a clue what prompted this, and I am appalled at the way I am being treated. My dental anxiety should NEVER be a reason for me to be dismissed as a patient.

Experiencia fantástica: A little pricey but the most thorough and intelligent prognosis and health plan to counter any negativity in my mouth. I actually fell in love with the place within 60 seconds of walking in the door. The people are wonderful and helpful and willing to answer any and all questions. This is the best dentist I have found in the Madison area now that Dr McCormick family dental has retired and does T do dental work any more.

Went home to think about my options, called that same day a few hours after my appointment and got me in still on the same day to get a tooth pulled. They were very caring and explained EVERYTHING thoroughly. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Over the last year I've had major extractions (8+ teeth removed). All of the staff at this location are amazingly professional, kind, knowledgeable and most of all non-judgmental. I LOVE Dr. V! I was petrified going in there as a blood thinner patient needing many teeth removed. That process was virtually pain-free. The doctor was able to give me enough know the vaccine that I did not feel the extraction. She was able to suture up the extraction sites. Prior to my procedure they correlated with my primary care doctor to get me off my blood thinners and bridge that medication. I highly recommend this location. I live 45 minutes away and would still come back to them every single time!

Experiencia negativa: Worst dental office in Madison! I was seen at the Aspen Dental on East Washington Avenue. I would get a text confirmation for my appointment the day before the appointment, but when I went in, they told me they have tried to reach me to reschedule. I received no phone calls, texts or emails stating they needed to reschedule. I showed them my phone with the text confirming the appointment. The front desk person said oh that must be from our corporate office, but still did not honor the appointment. No apology to me. Then it happened a second time! Nope I won’t put up with that! I told them I want all of my records because I am will be finding a different dentist. I told them I am fed up and can’t deal with their poor customer service.

Experiencia negativa: I've been going to Aspen Dental for about 3 years now and this is the first time I noticed a charge on my account (4X Gingival Irrigation Per Quad). I called and nobody can explain to me what the procedure means. All they said was we'll have to call you back and talk to the dental hygienist. I haven't gotten a called back in 2 months about this charge. So I back tracked my claims to the 1st year and they've been charging me 4X Gingival Irrigation Per Quad for the past 3 years. This company is extremely shady to try and hide procedures under patient accounts. My advice is avoid Aspen Dental at all cost.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely wonderful!! I came in for an emergency extraction of a single tooth and it was done in about half an hour. They're very kind and understanding people. No shame and willing to help make you as comfortable as possible. Everyone's vibes were amazing and I really enjoyed every interaction! I really couldn't ask for more and really, I hope whenever I can get insurance, they're covered by it because they're SO good My examination and extraction was pretty cheap too with their membership!

Constant billing problems, over charging for work not done, always blaming the “new” computer system, needing three appointments to get routine cleaning, they send out collection notices when they haven’t sent a bill yet, and canceling appointments that were confirmed the day before! The list goes on and on. Don’t waste your time or money
Experiencia negativa: Everyone was nice but trying to charge me 2.6K AFTER my dental insurance for a cleaning isn’t feasible. When I asked if I could get a basic cleaning that is covered by insurance they refuse and just want me to keep getting worse. I literally have no choice but to find a different dentist. What a waste of my time and energy when you already had me wait a week in pain. Thanks so much…..
Experiencia negativa: They say they have appointment available for emergency work, and are open till 5pm. I booked online to three different offices and got confirmation on each, but Janesville, Madison West called and said they were closed and Madison East I drove a hour to be told they are actually closed because the doctors all have meetings the first Friday of the month. We'll Aspen Dental, I am looking for a new dentist, but it won't be with Aspen!
