Experiencia fantástica: As someone who has had extensive dentistry in the past from numerous dentists I am always wary of searching for a new provider, however a move across states made it a priority. Experiencia fantástica: I went to Silver Forest Dental for the first time, as my insurance was acceptable there. I don’t love going to the dentist office but today was actually fun and I look forward to going again in 6 months. I had all the X-rays and new patient’s thorough checkup with Julie and John, the Dentist. Everything went well for me and the cleaning work was great from my Hygienist, Julie. She kept me comfortable and our conversation was engaging. I highly recommend Silver Forest Dental!

Experiencia fantástica: I called in for an emergency appointment for a cracked tooth… the front desk personnel got me an appointment the following day… I walked in to a beautiful facility with bright smiles greeting me. I was taken in right away.. took X-rays and Dr Petrie went to work… he fixed my cracked tooth and made it look better than the original lol… he kept saying I wish I took a before and after picture. He was great.. he explained everything before he started and explained after care as well… overall 10 outta 10 for me… I found my dentist office for life… thank you all to the front desk.., dental assistant and Dr Petrie… I can smile again.

Experiencia fantástica: I would recommend Silver Forest Dental not just for the amazing dental exam and plan by the dentist, but also for the state of the art equipment, clean facility, and the friendly and efficient staff. Also, it was no doubt the best cleaning I have ever had and I don’t want to age myself, but that is a lot of cleanings. My husband and I moved from out of state and we were searching for new medical and dental providers. I came across Silver Forest Dental and initially just made an appointment for my husband and when he had such an amazing experience, I went ahead and booked an appointment for myself for a cleaning, check up, and a chipped tooth. I have had the worst luck with dentists over the years because it seemed like every time I went to the dentist I needed some new advanced treatment costing thousands of dollars or just plain unnecessary treatment where sometimes I would go years without even going to the dentist. What a pleasure it was that the first dentist I chose here in St. John’s county, did not try to sell me a bunch of unnecessary procedures, one example is my husband, myself, and a girlfriend of mine all made cleaning appointments for the same day at a dental office, we all ended up with the same dentist and oddly enough all three of us grind our teeth and needed teeth guards never before had any of us been told we grind our teeth by the previous umpteen dentists we all had seen over the years, yet what are the odds that all three of us would need to purchase mouth-guards, this was one visit of so many sheister providers I had visited. So thankful to have found Silver Forest Dental, and if you want to avoid a bad dental experience, this place should be at the top of your list.

Experiencia fantástica: Great people! Very kind. I was very nervous due to having bad dentist in the past, they listened. They helped me feel comfortable and explained everything in detail of what I needed. Being a military family, we’ve had to move 10 times so far. So that means having to find a new dentist every 1-3 years. I’m grateful for their help, they helped fix some issues I’ve had from previous dentist and now I feel better and don’t hurt anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: Update: My 2nd 5 Star review (May 2026). Secret Sauce. Silver Forest Dental has the secret sauce. I can't explain it or find the words but y'all know what I mean. You know the secret sauce when you experience it. This entire crew has it; from the front desk ladies to every Hygienist (Julie is my favorite though) and Dr. Maples, this is a happy and productive team of professionals. When the team is happy, that makes happy customers. My theory is, they are SMALL and PERSONAL so it's more like a family or bunch of best friends all working for the same purpose. I hope they stay small, local and personal because this is what the American small business is all about. Thank you Silver Forest Dental for all you do and keep up the GREAT work! Friendly, informative, gentle, no-nonsense, dental care. Explained everything in detail in a way I could understand. Mia performed my cleaning and was absolutely wonderful, thorough, gentle, professional, and made the entire appointment feel easy and comfortable. I also want to specifically recognize Kristin, the office manager. She was kind, honest, helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Her customer service truly stood out. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was clear, organized, and handled with care. I also met briefly with Dr. Maples, DMD, and even in a short amount of time he was thoughtful, professional, and helped me come up with a clear plan for my continued care at the practice. Experiencia negativa: Came in as a new patient for the advertised $99 special (exam + cleaning). After a bunch of x-rays, photos, and probing, they said they couldn’t do a regular cleaning and insisted on a much deeper/scaling procedure costing over 2.5× more. I declined and asked for the basic cleaning I came for—they refused to do it and still charged the full $99 even though no cleaning was performed. I’ve had consistent excellent check-ups in Germany and Australia (most recent one 5 months ago, everything perfect). This felt like a clear upsell attempt rather than patient-centered care. Disappointing experience—would not recommend or return.

Experiencia negativa: This practice does not know how to bill insurance properly, or are scam artists. In 18 years, with our incredibly high insurance plan, we have never owed anything for dental cleanings and exams, even for periomaintenance exams 4 times a year, until this practice. We have never owed for annual x-rays either, because there are 2 insurance entities paying. We called our insurance company, which this practice claims to participate with, and be in network with, just to double-check if something changed this year, and nothing has. They said we should not owe anything for our cleaning and examvisits, between the 2 insurances. So the money charged at the visits was not owed. We will never use this practice again! Stay clear, it's not worth the frustration and getting money taken that isn't owed.

The nurse assistant that took my X-rays; Stephanie was very friendly, warm, and considerate which helped to put me in a relaxed and calm mood, for what I and many others consider a stressful situation. Every dentist needs a “Stephanie” . Dr. Maple was very patient, informative, and very helpful to any questions I had. When looking for a dentist you look for someone who can sit down and talk to you like a person, not a patient. And that’s exactly how I felt when he sat down. I returned the next day to have some teeth extracted and the procedure went flawless. I did not feel a thing. I’ve never had an experience like this at a dentist office. Sure I had discomfort When I got home but I can honestly tell you I’ve never thought about how well a dental procedure went after it happened. Thank you!!

Experiencia positiva: My biggest complaint is that they charge you $50 for canceling or rescheduling an appointment. I understand not showing up at all without notice, but when you need to reschedule because life happens and you couldn’t do it with in their 48hr window it’s a bit unreasonable. God forbid your kid gets sick, you’re stuck in traffic or just couldn’t find the childcare!

This dentist and staff made me feel extremely awful and ostracized in the way they handled my specific situation. It seemed like they had no policy in place, then spoke about to give or withhold info and paper work from me (speaking directly behind me) and then gave me the paperwork, then tried to take the paperwork back. It was a very strange and unpleasant encounter. I would highly recommend looking around for a more personable and professional staff.

Experiencia positiva: I really like Dr. Maples. He is an excellent doctor who truly cares about his patients. My only issue is with one of the front desk associates, Kristen. She often comes across as snappy and impatient, which creates an unwelcoming environment. It would make a big difference if the front desk interactions matched the warmth and professionalism that Dr. Maples provides. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars.

Experiencia fantástica: I just want to start by saying I HATE going to the dentist, just ask my Hygienist Lisa, or my sister who is a hygienist back in Washington. That said, the team here is amazing. I feel seen, welcomed, appreciated and never judged. They have a unique way of making you feel like family from the time you walk through the door until you leave. I have come to actually enjoy my time there.

I was looking for a new dentist and my sister recommended Silver Forest Dental. I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did! I had a great experience at Silver Forest Dental from start to finish. Although I was booked out to January, I was put on a cancellation list and was texted several opportunities and was able to get in much sooner. The entire team is pleasant, helpful and professional. My hygenist was kind, caring and gentle and Dr. Maples is just very nice, taking a few moments to chat when he came in after my cleaning. Experiencia fantástica: After a really bad experience at a corporate-several locations dental place to fix a broken tooth, which they wanted $2,300 to do, this practice was very delightful thru the entire process. They actually listened to me and understood my situation. I was in and out in an hour with a fix that will carry me until insurance kicks in. I was impressed with desk, tech and especially the dentist. I’ve finally have found a practice I can trust!
