Experiencia positiva: I am writing to express my concerns regarding the treatment and advice I recently received at this practice. While Paula and Dr. Bentz are very nice. I was told that I have gum disease with pocket depths of six and seven.I was instructed to stop flossing and use a plastic pick instead. During my visit the pick left me in pain, bleeding way to much I was told "you'll get use to it". I was unable to eat or speak comfortably for the remainder of the day. Additionally, I was told that my sealants were decaying to a life-threatening degree, which was highly distressing as I have never been informed of such issues previously. I also encountered significant difficulty obtaining my medical records. My texts and calls went unanswered, and my new dentist eventually had to intervene to receive my medical records. I have since sought a second opinion. My current dentist confirmed that my gum and tooth health are actually fine and emphasized that I must continue flossing, as it cannot be replaced by a plastic pick.

Even though my office is no longer located in Boulder and I don’t live there, Dr, Bentz is the one doctor I’ve stayed with in Boulder. They provide great service, Very personable. At my recent visit, we discovered that Dr. Bentz did my fillings over 21 years ago! That’s craftsmanship.

Experiencia fantástica: Getting any sort of dental work is not always the most pleasurable experience, however Dr. Bentz is informative and has such a steady hand that I could not even tell I just got an injection of anesthetic into my gums till after he informed me it was over. His staff is also just as exceptional, and Rosie is an adorable dog to boot. Absolutely recommend his services.

Experiencia fantástica: From the moment you walk in, the office feels warm and welcoming. Rosie, the therapy Golden Retriever, greets patients and helps make the experience calming and comfortable. Dr. Bentz is the best dentist I’ve ever had — even the Novocaine shots are painless! I’m very sensitive to dental work, so I really appreciate that they offer nitrous oxide for cleanings and other procedures as well. My mom went in as a new patient to have a crown replaced. I was shocked to see just the top part of her tooth covered and cavities forming at the base of the crown. Dr. Bentz covers the entire tooth and many of my crowns have lasted over 20 years so far. Thank you Dr. and Paula Bentz!

Dr. Bentz and Paula continue to provide comprehensive dental care for me, and the service hasn't dropped one bit. They truly care about their patients, their oral health and making the experience as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend you check them out if you are in need of a new dentist! 7/29/2023: Just wanted to update this review as Dr. Bentz is still my dentist. I simply won't go anywhere else for anything related to my dental health. Dr Bentz and Paula really do care about your comfort and making the experience the best it can be. Dr. Bentz still triple checks with me every time to make sure I'm comfortable and numbed up before doing any work. Paula is simply wonderful to deal with and always answers any questions I have about billing and my insurance. I've been a patient for roughly 7 years now and I will not go anywhere else as I truly believe Dr. Bentz and Paula genuinely care about me as a patient and it shows every time I have an appointment. I previously had severe anxiety about dentists and I can honestly say I've never felt more comfortable and relaxed in a dentists office in my life.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Bentz and Paula are absolutely wonderful! I have awful anxiety, particularly when going to the dentist, and a pretty bad gag reflex because of it. They were so kind and understanding, and really took things at my pace and did everything to best suit my needs. Dr. Bentz also caught a cavity before it had to be a root canal, which is really wonderful, and you can’t feel a thing when he gives you the novocaine shots. Plus, the sweet golden retriever Rosie is a wonderful therapy dog. Highly recommend this office!!!

Paula makes certain to bill insurance and make my stay as relaxing as possible He's extremely competent and uses state of the art methods. Since starting there, I never had to go back for the same cavity over and over like I did with some others. He uses a comprehensive approach which prevents future dental trouble down the road. In a world where many things are becoming so impersonal, I'm lucky to have a dentist and staff that I actually enjoy going to visit, as much as anyone can enjoy dental work. They have treated our family with affection and respect, considering the whole person and our individual needs. They have extras such as music through IPOD and two beautiful golden retrievers to provide pet therapy if wanted. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Dr. Bentz is good at explaining every procedure and process for your dental healthcare. They were very flexible the one time I needed to move an appointment. They take a lot of time with you and don't rush, which isn't great if you're the one waiting, but great when you're in the chair! Overall a great place and great people!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing dentist. Son was hit in the mouth by a baseball. It was Sunday at 3pm. They opened their office just to see him. He did a through examination and advised a solution. He fixed his teeth the same visit. Nice and friendly doctor. He listened and explained everything.

Experiencia fantástica: My family has been going to Dr. Bentz and his lovely wife Paula, for about 6-7 years now and it only gets better every visit. The level of kindness and wonderful service is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. My anxiety has been a huge factor over the years of me not going to any dentists due to my childhood experiences! But I’ve never once had any anxiety because they treat every patient with warmth and love. Today I had to go for a cleaning and had to bring my 4.5 yr old granddaughter with me. I almost canceled because it’s tough to bring a child into any dentist/Doctor appointment but I had to. They treated her like family as they do with all my kids that also go to them. She has a blast and even helped out using the suction thingie to suction out water after I rinsed. Again, two very kind and loving people just taking care of people in need!

The atmosphere is calming due to the sincere nature of he and his assistant, as well as an adorable golden retriever. Dr Bentz has done excellent work on my partner in the past, so when a dental emergency came up I called him. He spoke to me personally on the phone and asked if I needed to come in that evening. It was 8:00 p.m. at night. I was very impressed when he worked on me. I am small in stature and have a neck injury. I usually leave the dentist with a sore neck because other dentists try to pry my mouth open farther than is physically possible. I went home with my mouth fixed, and my neck still felt fine. My neck felt fine even the next day. This was more than I could have hoped for. Thank you Dr Bentz

Experiencia negativa: I rarely write negative reviews. In this case, I feel the need to warn people to be cautious so they are aware of the potential for lack of truth. My son attends CU Boulder, and we thought having a dentist up there would be a great idea. The amazing reviews here in Google were part of the reason we thought this would be a great place for him to go. He liked the people and said his experience was great last September. However, he was told he had 3 or 4 cavities because his sealants had worn off. It didn't sound right to me, so I called his pediatrician dentist who had seen him 6 months earlier and they said the sealants had been fine and no note of anything they were watching. We held off and I decided to send him to my dentist. He just had that cleaning today (6 months later), and not only does he not have any cavities but his sealants are all just fine. Please be cautious when going here and get a second opinion if you feel it's not accurate. I do agree that the people I met here are extremely nice, and I know my son felt well taken care of. However, they were definitely not truthful with him and wanted to do unneeded work. He will not return.

Dr Bentz invests in the best for his patients and Paula works with even my crazy schedule and always ensures that I get the most from my benefits. The novacaine needle Dr Bentz uses is tiny AND he cares enough to warm the anesthetic as well. I felt NOTHING, which is so amazing considering those gigantic scary needles other dentists use. He was also able to save a tooth that otherwise would've needed extraction, because he invests in quality instruments. I've been a patient for more than 20 years and I have always felt like I receive excellent, compassionate, professional care. Superior patient education, incredible attention to care and excellent organization and communication. They really treat you like family (but you know - not your ACTUAL family ;-) ).

Experiencia negativa: I chose this place based on all the glowing reviews, but my experience was that I felt completely taken advantage of financially after my visit. Was told during my first appointment that I have 8 cavities. I don’t have dental insurance and only a year ago my trusted dentist in Florida said my teeth were perfect, so it felt worth getting a second opinion. I also have a history of heart disease (which they knew), so I need to tread very carefully before any sort of big procedure. I paid out of pocket for “updated” x rays with Dr. Bentz, but when I forwarded them to other dentists to look at they said that the images were so low quality that they were unusable (I believe them- even I could see that they were extremely blurry). So that ended up being a waste of money. After taking improved x rays the new dentist confirmed that I did not, in fact, have any cavities. I’ve never written a negative review before, but felt compelled to so that others can also hopefully avoid going through unnecessary procedures.

I had never used nitrous oxide before but they explained it all to me and i had full control over how much i was being given the whole time. I was allowed to use my headphones and listen to music during the procedure and even got to pet their cute pup Rowdy at the end. The fillings are smooth and comfortable. Experiencia fantástica: Without a doubt the best dentist I have ever used. I moved out of Boulder, but I still drive to Boulder to see Dr. Bentz. I have replacement fillings he did in 2000. Fillings that have lasted TWENTY THREE YEARS and via x-ray you can see they are still solid. If you have major dental issues to deal with, I am certain Dr. Bentz can take care of you. If you have simple maintenance issues, he can handle that, too. He answers all your questions. I very, very rarely give five star ratings. This five star was a no-brainer. I just visited again today and (of course, thanks to genetics but also Dr. Bentz's care) I have a clean bill of health. You worry about going to see a dentist? Pfft. Go see Dr. Bentz.

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Bentz got me in on an emergency during covid, thank God. I had the worst toothache. Turns out I needed a root canal (which I figured) It was one of the smoothest, pain free experiences I've ever had a dentist. He got me in immediately and the procedure was just absolutely the best I've ever had. Paula was amazing and returned my call right away (my dentist would not return my calls) Clinic was clean, they have 2 amazing dogs that keep you great company. I got a warm neck pillow and he even took a photo of my tooth so I could see. I am no longer in pain thank goodness. I will continue my service here from now on. Thank you guys! Update: 5/19/2022 I am still coming to Paula and Dr Bentz and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. He put a crown on yesterday and fixed up a cavity. I felt nothing the whole time and today I feel pretty darn good!! My past experiences with other dentists left me a little traumatized and ever since going to Dr Bentz, they have made me feel so comfortable and I won't be going anywhere else that's for sure. They're stuck with me lol. Thank you again guys !!! Update 8/18/2022 Went in again today to get a cavity filled (yes, I have awful teeth that always need work) and again, it was a very nice experience. I've been traumatized by dentistry for years and I'm just now starting to not get sick to my stomach when going to see Dr Bentz and Paula. They are becoming friends of mine and even though I've moved out of Boulder, I still drive to them, I'll never change dentists again, Dr Bentz will have to kick me out Zero pain. Comfortable chair, warm neck pillow, noise canceling headphones and nitrous gas. They really take care of their patients and I send everyone who asks to them. My husband will be starting to go to them next week for his care too. I HIGHLY recommend this facility. It's also very affordable. UPDATE 3/16/23: Still coming to see the amazing Dr Bentz and paula!!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place and these two amazing people. Dr Bentz has fixed at least 10 teeth in my mouth and I've never experienced what I have here. The anxiety coming to the dentist is slowly starting to become a positive reinforcement if that makes sense. Hey,it's the small things. I've grown to truly care about them both (and of course Rowdy, and our precious angel Amber ). They've become family. And, for the first time in my adult life, my mouth doesn't hurt! I'm pain free,and the procedures were as well! Thank you both so much and I'll see you next week lol UPDATE 1/11/2024 It has been 4 years and finally my mouth is completely fixed! Today was my final visit! I must add to this review because Dr bentz gave me the numbing shot and I didn't even feel it!! He showed me what he uses and I've never seen anything like it! It's so small, and his technique is perfect. I didn't even know he gave me the injection another pain free, amazing experience! Thank you Dr bentz and Paula for the outstanding treatment, always. I will never go anywhere else, ever. I'll see you in June!!!! They've become my family 6/6/24 Still coming here! I felt no pain at all through the entire procedure. They make sure to inform you about the entire process and provide pictures and procedural knowledge as we went along. They also have a lovely service dog named Broedy who comes in to check on you when you enter. Both Dr. Bentz and Paula were very kind and concientious to any concern I had and were very efficient!

After going to some pop up dentist shops when I first moved to Colorado and being very disappointed in the quality of dentistry out west a friend recommended me to doctor Bentz. By far the best dentist I have ever had, I have received veneers, root canals fillings ect... But none have ever been as good as the services done at Boulder dentistry. Years of experience make a lot of difference when your getting dental work. Do you want someone that has done thousands of procedures like doctor Bentz or do you want some green rookie that has practiced in text books. I will take Boulder dentistry any day!

Now, it’s an hour that I get to just relax - they make you feel so at home. Amber and Rowdy coming to greet you at the door has always been one of my favorite things about going to their office. I missed old Rowdy at my last visit, but Amber was happy to get extra belly scratches. I used to live right in Boulder, but I still make the 30 mins drive because you just can’t do better than Paula and Dr. Bentz. Thank you for all that you do!

Experiencia fantástica: First off, I cannot describe how welcomed and comforted I feel here. As a transplant from Iowa they make sure you are taken care of. They walk you through whatever procedure you are about to go through and honestly I finally know what a root canal is (despite have multiple performed in my life already). Second, Michael's technique for administering a novocaine shot is second to none. I didn't even feel it. The man is a magician.And the in office dog is icing on the cake. Highly recommend for any crown and root canal needs.

Experiencia fantástica: I had given up hope for decent dental care. In the past I've ve had so much inadequate dental work. Then i randomly discovered Dr. Bentz and Paula, they are phenomenal for dental care!! I wish I had met them 20 years ago. Would have saved me much distress and re-work when it comes to dental procedures. First, you are always informed what Dr. Bentz is doing because he truly believes Patient Education goes hand in hand with your care. No matter how minor or major, everything with your procedure(s) will be explained prior. Dr. Bentz has a wonderful technique and touch when it comes to your injections. His needle is incredibly tiny, and he takes his time so you don't feel anything. This is not a huge dental clinic where people are funneled in and out quickly. He patiently takes time with each patient. And your appointment is yours, not overlapped with 2 or 3 other people. He takes pictures before and during the procedures that are placed on the large screen where he can review with you what was discovered during the exam or procedures. Paula makes everything else flawless from the moment you walk in to getting in the chair. Never errors with appointment times, confusion with insurance, or patient responsibility. Experiencia negativa: STAY AWAY I went in for my annual cleaning a couple months ago. After the cleaning Dr. Bentz said I needed to have 4 cavities removed. I had two of them removed before I had to move out of Boulder. I visited a trusted dentist recently and she couldn’t believe I had a cleaning done just a couple months back. Additionally, she said that the removal of the two cavities Dr Bentz had done were excessively invasive and that the other two he wanted to remove simply require sealant. Dr Bentz is either highly incompetent or money hungry and unethical. Possibly both. Do yourself a favor and save the pain and money.

A warm blanket, time to settle in, dogs in the office, music, and all the comfort things offered to make the experience as easy as possible. Specifically, I have a number of his crowns, and since they're made to go below the gum line, they work and look great. Some old ones from my previous dentist just went to the gum line and thus could trap food and decay. Dr Bentz replaced those and all is good. Also, I've never had any problems with cost estimates or billing (I always pay right away). I wish all health care was like that. My latest visit affirms my earlier 5 star review. He has provided competent care with attention to my comfort during any procedures that I’ve had. It is a smaller place which makes it less intimidating. Dr. Bentz and Paula are lovely and were so comforting and understanding with my needs. They gave me nitrous oxide, which I was nervous about, but they did it slow and kept asking if the amount felt right and it really helped me relax. I felt comfortable and trusting in both of them right away. They even have a sweet dog that sat with me in the room for a while. Highly recommend this place especially if going to the dentist scares you. My fear of the dentist is gone!
