Experiencia fantástica: I had osteoporosis necrosis, Dr. Shepherd quickly identified the problem. I was sent to an infectious disease specialist for treatment after Dr. Shepherd removed tooth and the dead tissue. I was in great pain with the bone disease. After one week of infusion I was feeling much better. I had infusions for a total of 43 days and I am now well. I am grateful to Dr. Shepherd for his timely actions and excellent care.

Angie kept me totally cool & calm leading up to sitting in the chair, and Dr Shepard was very nice and quick. I don't even remember going to sleep! Experiencia fantástica: Enormous amount of paperwork required to get past the front desk, which actually took longer than the procedure, but after that, I had a fantastic experience at Kalispell Oral Surgery, and how often can someone say that (in all honesty) about oral surgery? The staff were friendly, helpful, and very professional. I had an assigned staff who guided me through the entire process, start to finish, all the way to my car door in the parking lot when I was done. Dr Hanson took the time to explain every aspect of what was about to happen, and then followed through afterward with a detailed report about the process and outcome that I had missed while under anesthesia. I left with a clear understanding about what I needed to do to sustain the successful surgical outcome. The well-considered coordination of their ample staff resource and the subsequent excellent treatment of patients suggests a degree of training, commitment, and oversight that is sadly lacking in other healthcare facilities in the Flathead Valley at this time. The best part? The post-surgical pain that many had advertised (including my referral source) never arrived. I didn’t even need Tylenol afterward, much less any kind of prescription pain relief. Who knew that oral surgery could be so quick and easy—once you make it through the seemingly endless pages of preliminary paperwork. I can’t imagine that anyone does this any better, and the Wild West motif adds an extra dimension of fun. My only suggestion: cowboy boots and hats for the non-surgical staff. 7/2026: As my oral surgery journey continues, my #2 and #3 surgical experiences were just as positive as the first. Great team, great doctor, great results. I’m impressed by the consistent warmth, smiles, and positivity of the entire team, from the front desk to the back door. This practice is first rate.

I literally walked in unannounced on Monday this week (6-8-26) in excruciating pain from bitting down on a mint at work and crushing my wisdom tooth at 8:30am and then drove straight to their office by 9:30 and they fit me in, thank god, within 2 hours and extracted the broken tooth and had me on my way by 1pm. The front desk lady and all the staff and dentist/doctor were amazing. I went home pain free and slept so good last night. I’m so thankful and appreciative of their fast response and care. Experiencia fantástica: I had a cracked molar on a Thursday, by Sunday there was enough pain and some swelling so I called the emergency number and THE SURGEON picked up - wow. He met me (and my wife) a couple hours later, after church, in his office. After an extensive consultation (which included xrays) he layed out all options, including one that could possibly keep the tooth (very rare for a surgeon to lay out that option, but shows another exampme of his ethics). We developed a good game plan which included starting on some antibiotics. Two days later he took an appointment on his day off (with less than 24 hours notice) to take care of the tooth since things were not improving as much as we hoped. His beautiful office and staff are outstanding and very professional. I felt safe, and well taken care by clearly experienced individuals. The procedure went great and I could hardly believe how easy it was - no pain, a little nap, and it was done. Dr. Shepherd is world class. I have used top tier doctors in Chicago, Greenwich -CT, Manhattan, and San Francisco and he tops the list, hands down. We are very lucky to have him and his amazing staff in my home town of Kalispell.

I was still in the neighborhood a couple hours after my surgery and my ice pack had melted, I went back in and asked if I could have another as I had a long drive home and they were more than happy to help me again.
