I needed a filling and an extraction, and honestly I was nervous going in, but Dr Resmi Nair and the entire team made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. The office is beautiful, clean and welcoming and everyone was so kind and professional. Dr Nair explained everything clearly, was very gentle and made the procedure much easier than I expected. The extraction was quick and surprisingly painless and the filling was perfect. The staff, coupled with Dr. Darvish, made me feel heard, my anxiety understood and worked through. I’ve never any dentist office smiling or relieved…..until today. Today I didn’t cry in the reception area. I didn’t cry in the chair. I didn’t cry at check out. I cannot recommend this office enough.

Experiencia positiva: I just recently had my routine cleaning and x rays at Carewell Dental and was very happy. Below is a review I wrote a few years ago (really bad visit). Since that visit (I decided to stick it out with Carewell) I have had nothing but positive visits. Immediately following my posting (read below) several years ago, the office staff contacted me, apologized for the hygienist’s comments/behaviors and reschedule me with someone else for my next appt. I stuck with Carewell, because of this quick response and have been very happy since. This post was written several years ago: The office sent me a reminder ( which I appreciate) through text (I think for the third time). The third text reminder had changed the time from 11 to 11:15. I texted back that the appt. was for 11. I also texted to find out if they could take me earlier. I got a phone call within minutes asking if I was coming to my appt. I said yes, but could I be taken in early, I was told that “we are booked out for months”. I sensed the stress from this person. I get it that the scheduling in this office is rough, but I expect that not to be conveyed to the patients. I got to my appt. a few minutes early (she told me on the phone that early was not an option, because they are booked up), and I wasn’t seen until 10 min past my appt. time. My cleaning and visit with the doctor was thorough and my teeth felt great after the visit. During the cleaning, my hygienist asked me if I was going back to work and I told her that I was recently retired from the public schools (and happily so). She proceeded to tell me a story about a friend that was scratched in the face by a child in a school. Her commentary went on to label “these children” as feral animals that shouldn’t be in schools. I attempted to indicate to her that I did not share her thoughts/politics on this issue by disputing some of her misinformation (that you’re not allowed to put your hands on students in school, which you absolutely (by law) can when in an emergency). I also told her that children with these behaviors have often experienced trauma and her response was that they didn’t belong there. I am a public school educator and the parent of a child with emotional disabilities and was deeply offended by this woman’s vitriol. Overall my experience was stressful, something I hope to avoid in future visits. You can have the best service in the world, but if the public facing voices are rushed, stressed and offensive your services get overshadowed. Hoping not to be trapped in a dentist chair with a political wing nut at my next visit. I should note that all prior (2) hygienists have been fabulous, both technically and interpersonally.

Experiencia fantástica: The dental hygienist that my 9 year old son Xavier had was patient, thorough, and explained everything to him in detail before his cleaning. He had sealants done which he was understandably anxious about, and the hygienist was calm but firm about him needing to be cooperative. We requested her again for his next cleaning because what could have been a negative experience was prevented because she remained so calm and patient with him being anxious.

I have been going to Carewell Dental for many many years now, Dr Nair. is always great at explaining everything to me and setting up a plan to have everything done in a step by step process. She is an amazing Dentist and i would not ever go anywhere else. Her staff is great in every aspect, everyone there is great at what they do and very knowledgeable and friendly

Experiencia negativa: In May or June 2024, I went in for a routine cleaning. Like at most of my previous visits, Dr. Nair recommended Invisalign to correct a mild overbite. This time they were offering thirteen hundred dollars off, bringing the cost to forty five hundred. I decided to move forward even though I was preparing to move out of state. Dr. Nair assured me it would be fine and that everything could be managed easily. I completed my scans and paid out of pocket up to that point, expecting insurance to take over afterward. Later, I realized it was too much to handle during a move and told the office I wanted to cancel. That’s when Heather from the front desk said I’d owe thousands of dollars if I stopped. None of her explanations made sense, and she refused to put anything in writing. Every conversation was over the phone and always tense. I felt pressured and stuck, so I decided to continue. After moving, I ran into insurance transfer issues. The office offered no help or understanding, despite being a loyal patient for years. Once I left, communication basically disappeared. I was told I’d have monthly video check ins but only got one short phone call in over a year. Emails went unanswered for weeks. I had to manage most of my treatment on my own. My insurance company even questioned how my treatment was billed and monitored, pointing out inconsistencies and suggesting I file a fraud report. I didn’t, out of respect for my past experience with the office. When my treatment ended, I planned a trip back east and wanted to confirm everything before traveling three thousand miles. It took three days to get Dr. Nair on the phone. I was polite and flexible, but the staff made it difficult. When she finally called, she assured me that everything would be handled in one visit. It ended up not being one visit and I had to go back in a few days later. Thankfully, I had planned for the unplanned. At my final appointment, my attachments were removed and photos taken. Then I was told that the retainer package I was promised at the start was no longer available. It wasn’t an Invisalign change but a decision by the office. Dr. Nair also pushed for a cleaning. I explained that my new insurance would start the following week. The moment she heard that, she dropped the topic instantly. She also commented that my results would have been better if I hadn’t moved, even though she was the one who told me in the beginning that the move wouldn’t matter. There were several times when a small gesture of goodwill could have made a big difference, but none were made. I even emailed Dr. Nair directly afterward to give her another chance to make things right. Her reply was cold and dismissive. At this point, I’ve reopened communication with my insurance company to review how my treatment was handled. I tried to give Dr. Nair the benefit of the doubt, but this experience completely changed how I view her practice. Carewell Dental does have some kind and professional staff, but Dr. Nair herself seems more focused on money than on patient care. I was never a patient, I was a number. If I wanted a cold and inpersonable corporate experience, I would have gone to a chain dentist. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before starting treatment here.

Experiencia negativa: Not great. My daughter was taken in at 4pm and finished at 4:12. I asked if polish, scraping, floss, fluoride, and the doctor saw her… the answer was yes. In 12 minutes all that happened. My daughter’s gums were bleeding. We are supposed to teach our children NOT to rush oral hygiene! I asked how long the appointment was scheduled for, she said 40 min. I told her to take her back in and do her teeth again, this time I watched. I work in healthcare, you need to be your own advocate!! I would give this a 1 star, but I am adding a star to make it a 2 star only because Barbara Jean the office manager was very understanding and accommodating to my reaction. It was unacceptable and hopefully a learning experience for the individual. Dr. Nair if you read this, you should give big kudos to Barbara Jean, she managed this situation seriously and professionally. She is an asset to your practice.

Experiencia negativa: FYI- No longer accepting patients with MassHealth apparently. Picked up my son early from school to drive 30 minutes to find out they had actually canceled my son's appointment without telling me because apparently they haven't been getting paid from MassHealth "since January". While checking in, they kept spelling my son's name wrong, and when I spelled it again I got attitude, I wasn't trying to be rude, I have a complicated spelling last name. I told them I had been seeing a dentist and hadn't been having any problems and they told me "well they haven't been getting paid," I said, "I don't think so," and then the receptionist said "well you do you." Honesty, I would have laughed had it actually registered in real time. I had asked why no one had told me about this when I called the week prior to RESCHEDULE the appointment to THIS DAY - and they said "we just got the email last Friday," okay, so 7 days ago? Also, if they hadn't been getting paid since January (it's currently May), why are we just now hearing about this? We had also been there since January. So, we took some time to call some other dental offices in Massachusetts and none that we called were having issues with MassHealth. I highly recommend A Mother's Touch Pediatric Dentistry in Fitchburg - they are accepting Mass Health. We also did research to find that Dental offices had to submit new applications by January to receive payments from MassHealth, so hopefully someone's taking care of that over there. Honestly though, an "I'm sorry, someone should have called you" would have gone a long way. Just because we're on Mass Health it does not mean we are uneducated or our time isn't valuable.

Dr. Nair and her assistant, Rita were very patient and understanding when I recently had a crown replaced. As a result of an traumatic experience I had many years ago, I don't do well with extended, involved dental procedures(panic attacks). For the first time in years, I was comfortable and barely anxious throughout the lengthy process. Their compassionate treatment went a long way toward making me feel confident about undergoing any other similar procedures in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: To say I’ve endured some borderline horrid experiences at the dentist, truly would be an understatement. As of January 2025, I made it my mission to find a practice that would not only provide excellence with regard to dental care, but also cared for THE PERSON, so that the experience at the dentist would not be so scary, daunting. I HAVE FOUND THAT PRACTICE, and it is Carewell of Rutland!!!! My first visit was March of 2025. What I anticipated to experience during my visit, was the typical, “get you in, get you out” approach, with little or no customer/patient support. What I ACTUALLY experienced was the antithesis of that…they took SO MUCH care, time to explain what was happening, to explain the treatment plan, even offered flexibility with regard to payment!!!! I’ve had so many challenges with regard to my teeth, and (unfortunately), this has required me to have an extensive amount of work done… and I’m telling you, I cannot recall any previous practice willing to offer payment options, and flexibility with regard to treatment plans. I mean, who “loves” going to the dentist..?…. But if you have to, I cannot stress enough, how wonderful this team of practitioners are… from Dr. Nair, her hygienist Kathleen, and Barbara Jean at the front desk, a REMARKABLY KIND, INTELLIGENT, EFFICIENT TEAM…. I know I’m am now, well on the road to getting the healthy teeth I’ve always wanted!!! Thank you for such an outstanding experience!

My son went in recently went in for his second appointment, he has two cavities and I had previous trouble getting into a specialist for his treatment and expressed that to Dr. Adam Darvish and he immediately took action, and gave me very insightful/helpful suggestions along with clear referrals and more assurance of the entire thing. He explained what I would need to do, what the different hospitals specialized in. He was just so comforting!! He told me I can reach out to him if I can't get ahold of anyone for the treatments. On top of that he was so good with my son, made instant connections with Sonic, and made the entire experience very enjoyable!! I would recommend him to anyone with kids, and anyone in general!!!

After filling out some initial paperwork I was taken to an exam room and a full exam was done by Jess (who by the way was exceptional). A very pleasant process. The dentist was more than professional and I felt I was in very capable hands. All in all I felt that way with the whole staff. I am glad I came here. In fact it was the Dept of Veterns Affairs that recommended Carewell Dental to me. Kudos to them.

She took the time to make me feel comfortable and kept checking in on me to make sure I was doing ok. She explained everything to me and made sure to answer all of my questions along the way.
