I woke up in significant pain on a Sunday morning and didn’t know whether I could be seen Sunday. Instead, they got me in within hours as an emergency patient. Dr. Shamtoub performed the root canal himself, was thorough and clearly experienced, and had my pain resolved by the time I left. I was comfortable enough to travel for work later that same day. It is rare to find this level of responsiveness and skill, especially on a weekend. I would recommend this practice to anyone dealing with a dental emergency.

He explained the entire procedure in detail and patiently answered all my questions. His staff is just as wonderful as he is. He uses the latest technology, which made the procedure smooth and comfortable. The root canal lasted about three hours, but honestly, it wasn’t bad at all. I left feeling great, and if I ever need another root canal, I will definitely go back to him.

Dr. Shamtoub and his support staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. Most importantly, the procedure itself was remarkably thorough and virtually pain free. Dr. Shamtoub explained everything clearly, worked with incredible precision, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. What I expected to be an ordeal turned out to be one of the smoothest medical experiences I’ve ever had. Another pleasant surprise was the cost. After receiving estimates from two other endodontists on the Westside of Los Angeles, I was astonished to discover that Dr. Shamtoub’s fee was less than half of what the others had quoted, without sacrificing quality in any way. In today’s world, finding exceptional care at a remarkably reasonable price feels almost unheard of. If you’ve been postponing a root canal because of fear, uncertainty, or concerns about cost, I cannot recommend Dr. Gabreal Shamtoub and LA Endodontics highly enough. Exceptional skill, compassionate care, advanced technology, and honest pricing are a rare combination these days.

Experiencia fantástica: Hands down, one of the most gifted endodontists alive! Forever grateful to Dr. Gabreal and his team for completely changing how I feel about root canals. I was terrified going in, but their knowledge, precision, and care meant I wasn’t even shaking and I always shake in the dental chair. I had tooth #30 done with tiny double canals, and the work is truly exceptional (see the images!) I mentioned my high sensitivity, and they actually listened and applied numbing gel before the anesthesia shots, then tested with ice to confirm I was numb before touching anything. Most dentists just start drilling and deal with the “ouch” after. Not here. They also used a bite block so I didn’t have to hold my mouth open the whole time. Zero pain during, and no throbbing the next day like they warned about, just a little jaw tightness, which was the only discomfort of the entire experience. One thing I researched and want to pass on: the CT scan matters. Insurance won’t cover it, but it gives a precise map of your canals instead of guessing. Worth every penny in such a delicate area. Dr. Gabreal and his whole team, including the assistant and front desk made me walk out completely at ease. If I ever need another root canal: I’m coming back and I won’t be scared.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​❤️

Experiencia negativa: Update: Of course this business would try and misconstrue the events and avoid taking responsibility even after filing a report with the BBB, avoid at all costs if you utilize MediCal: The information is both misleading and misreported as I never raised my voice & important details are "conveniently" left out of their response. The provider was approached by myself over the phone prior to my consultation. During this recorded call, I inquired about the coverage and out pocket costs specifically surrounding root canal procedures with regard to my insurance. This is both common practice and a reasonable request before making appointments to providers. The provider, LA Endodontics, claims they are unable to verify if services would be covered before consultation and making their diagnosis. This is categorically false as I was already seen by my general dentist & another endodontist with a referral & diagnosis provided to them. The reason for the referral was to operate a root canal procedure that had already been diagnosed and categorized as "complex" therefore being referred to a specialist. The big issue has nothing to do with what this provider states and tries to paint in their response. The issue comes from this provider not performing any services including root canal procedures without the mentioned CT scan, knowing that this extra CT scan is not covered by medical insurances. Therefore they accept patients and appointments knowing full in advance that they will have to charge consumers out of pocket costs to cover the CT scan before any root canal procedure. They claim they need to have a consultation, but if they won't do "ANY" procedures without CT scans not covered by insurances, they are without interpretation denying individuals services while misleading consumers to come in for consultations. The last component of my situation is that I directly asked the front office of this provider about out of pocket costs and if their would be any reason they would not be able to provide services completely covered by my insurance. They directly responded to me that it would be covered completely, only to arrive at my appointment, only to be informed in person by the same office staff member that there would in fact be an out of pocket charge. The office staff member made a mistake and the provider reluctantly admitted to it during our consultation, which they then tried to appease the situation by neglecting to charge my insurance for the consultation. This lack of accountability and knowing use of predatory business behavior, using bait and switch tactics to pressure consumers into agreeing to pay for optional services is unacceptable. Original: Complete predatory practice that tries to bring in patients with insurance covered consultations, only to provide service with required out of pocket costs. I was sent to this provider through my Medi-Cal insurance, double checked with the office to make sure they were within network and would be able to service my procedure fully through my insurance. They assured me they would be able to accommodate me and that a root canal procedure could be performed and covered through my insurance. After meeting in-person for a consultation, they reveal to me that the Endodontist, Dr. Shamtoub, does not perform root canal procedures without the use of CT technology, that of which is not covered by insurance and would then be a $500 out of pocket cost. This again after being told that there would be no such cost and the procedure could be done over the phone. Classic bait and switch, this office should be ashamed of wasting people's time.

From the moment I called, Jasmine at the front desk made me feel at ease. She shared her own personal experience with me and was incredibly compassionate and kind throughout the process. I can't say enough good things about her—she was so understanding and never once made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. I was extremely anxious due to past dental trauma, and when I started crying out of nervousness, the doctor was incredibly patient and kind. He took his time with the procedure, which made a huge difference. He told me my canals were "beautiful," when he finished which left me feeling much more confident about the treatment. I also want to mention that I paid out of pocket for the procedure with no insurance, and I truly feel it was worth it. I'm confident that my tooth will be just fine, and I'll update in six months to share how it's doing. The only minor issue was with the tech she had a few mix-ups during the process with my X-rays but I completely understand that mistakes happen, and she was still doing her best. First of all, I came to him thinking I needed a root canal on an upper molar and it turns out it was a different tooth that was causing me problems. He made sure of his diagnosis through a CT scan which made me feel more comfortable we were doing the right thing. The whole office from his assistant to his front office help, Blair, was incredibly nice and calming. His office is immaculate and he has all the latest technology but I was paying cash and it was far less than other offices I called. 5/5 will only go to Dr. Shamtoub in the future!

Experiencia fantástica: Finally getting my review up! A few weeks ago I saw Dr Shamtoub - he was amazing in his treatment of my tooth. I had to get a root canal re-treatment done through a crown. I was EXTREMELY nervous. Dr Shamtoub and his assistant Chris were both very patient with me and kind, as well as professional. Dr Shamtoub has a lot of attention to detail in his work and you can tell this is a clinic where they really care about what they do. I notice my mouth and gums feel much better now and my tooth is no longer sensitive like before. Dr Shamtoub also referred me to get my crown looked at and now I have a great tooth - inside and out!

This tooth was much worse and more involved, so I expected this experience to be twice as bad. Keeping your mouth open and stuff was obviously uncomfortable, but the procedure wasn’t nearly as long and really wasn’t painful at all. I probably didn’t even need the Xanax. I would definitely go here again!

I immediately felt taken care of. This office accepted my insurance for the procedure. The actual root canals ( I needed 2 of them ) were not painful at all and I did not even need any of the prescriptions I got ( just in case ). No pain, no swelling, no trauma after. Let me just tell you there are not too many Dentist's out there that take their time and passion in the procedure of root canals. I have been to a few Dental office's and heard stories that their dentist did not do a thorough job and that the patient had to go somewhere else to properly fix a root canal procedure that their previous dentist messed up on. So if you are looking for a root canal specialist you should difinitely go to this place, I assure you'll be 100% satisfied. LA Endodontics has all the latest dental technology, they take x-rays, ct_scan, and they have dental_microscope! The dental microscope provides a significant visualization benefit at all stages of the endodontic treatment. How many dental office's use the endo microscope during root canal treatments not too many, not too many at all. For best results its always good to know if the dentist is going to be using a dental microscope for your root canal treatment, at LA Endodontics they always use a microsope. And not only are you hearing about what is a root canal but your getting knowledge about the anatomy of the tooth being saved. They have educational endodontic videos that is shown before the procedure starts. I give this place five stars! Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Shamtoub and his sidekick Chris were LIFESAVERS today. I called hoping to get an appointment the next day and I did! I went in with a deep throbbing pain, with a quick exam and a few x-rays we had a plan. He was able to do the root canal through my crown which I was thankful for. He and Chris were very warm and friendly and took their time to it correctly which I appreciated. AND best of all... pain is gone! I would totally recommend LA Endodontics. They handled him with such kindness, professionalism and care. My son has been raving the whole way home after his visit about how much much better he feels, and thank God for them for taking such great care of him! My dental journey began in 2020, when Covid limited treatment options. A 40yr old filling had deteriorated over the decades and a cavity formed underneath leading to concerns of a root infection. The cavity compromised one cusp of my molar and part of the filling broke off. Fast forward to the frustration of finding both skilled and honest dental care. After 2 years of walking away from one "up-seller" office after another, I finally came across a stellar primary dentist and a wonderful holistic dentistry option but still needed the expertise of an Endodontist. I am so GRATEFUL to have found LA Endodontics. I just came for an inquiry but was taken in without an appointment - that’s an extra ordinary accommodation you can hardly find in any clinic. I didn’t have approval from my insurance for the services I needed but the staff exerted an extra mile - that was so resourceful of them. Experiencia fantástica: I saw Dr. Shamtaub this afternoon for a root canal. The experience was as good as one could hope for. The office was very clean and was equipped with modern state of the art equipment. I'm a photographer and I recognized ZEISS brand name abound. The doctor himself was very professional and is clearly skilled. He was both attentive and efficient with his work; all while dealing with narrow, long, and branching roots in the back of my mouth. When the work was completed the doctor lightened up and I found him to to be very friendly and down to earth.

Experiencia fantástica: If you don't want to take risk on your health, Dr. Shamtoub is a solid choice. Might be slightly expensive, but the quality of the work definitely worths it. Both before and during the operation, he makes you feel confident and safe. You can be sure about getting a clean & professional service. I got one root canal on a molar tooth. After that, I only get 200mg ibuprofen one time and nothing else! Not all operations can go without any pain, but still, it tells you something. I am really amazed with the results.
