Experiencia fantástica: Kids friendly environment, friendly staff and my kiddo got a balloon, stickers and a small toy after the appointment. Very clean and organized. They accept dentical. There was no waiting time. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and that is all I waited. The dental hygienist was very sweet and kind with my son. The dentist came to check after the cleaning was done. I was done in 22 minutes. The call to confirm your appointment by calling and by text a day prior. This is best place to make your kiddo dental experience a positive one. I am very pleased. Special appreciation to Katie the dental assistant who was the person who treated my son. She is amazing! During the whole time her kind and friendly attitude made the application of sealant a cake walk. My son was very relaxed the whole time, and she made sure he new what was being done and what was expected of him. The visit was on my birthday, so the whole experience was a gift to me. Dental care doesn't need to be traumatic, nor scary. Thank you Children Choice for having professionals who do their job with pleasure and make their daily priority the well-being of these children many of whom are people with deshabilities.

Experiencia negativa: Antioch, OrthoDental Disappointing!!! After completing the scans, they missed that my child’s front teeth were protruding. If I hadn’t pointed it out, they were ready to send him home without addressing it. They simply said, “It’s not normal, thank you for pointing it out,” and then updated the treatment. Same day, During the scan, my child’s baby tooth fell out and started bleeding. Instead of immediately giving him gauze or cotton to stop the bleeding, the staff continued with collecting equipments, and my child ended up swallowing blood. This also wasn’t the first oversight. At a previous appointment, they forgot to install the archwire and only placed the braces. We had to point it out before leaving so they could correct it. My advice to other parents is to double-check your child’s treatment before leaving the clinic. The staff were polite, but I expected a more careful assessment and better attention to patient care, especially for children.

Front desk staff were loudly socializing about personal topics that could be heard in the waiting area, and it honestly felt more like a social hangout than a healthcare office. There didn’t seem to be clear leadership or control of the environment. I left feeling uncomfortable and I wouldn’t recommend this practice to others.

Experiencia negativa: We are extremely disappointed with the way Children’s Choice Dental Care in Antioch is managed. This is not the first time my child with autism has not received services at the scheduled appointment time. Our appointment was set for 9:40, yet we waited over an hour, and then were told we would need to wait another 30 minutes because there were no rooms available. It is completely unclear why the clinic schedules specific appointment times if they are unable to follow their own schedule. What is even more concerning is that their system should reflect that my child has autism and has a particularly difficult time with long waits. It gives the impression that the needs of patients like my child are simply not being taken into consideration. Children with special needs require not only medical care, but also basic respect, organization, and understanding. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. If a clinic chooses to work with children, including children with disabilities and autism, it has a responsibility to provide appropriate accommodations and not force them to wait for hours.

Experiencia negativa: PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!!! READ MY STORY!!!! Hi. I rarely leave reviews for places, but this place is a disaster. First, they traumatized my daughter to the point where she didn't want to see a dentist; the staff performing her cleanings were so rough with her—even though she was afraid—and whenever I pointed out that she was just a small child who was scared, they would just reply that she was "big enough" to handle it. With my son, I started orthodontic treatment; I set up a payment plan and made every payment on time. From the moment they put in the expander, my son was in pain, and I had to take him to emergency appointments several times, yet the doctor kept insisting everything was fine. Last week, I decided to take my children to a different dentist for their cleanings because of the poor care here. To my surprise, they discovered my son had an extra tooth growing inside something this place apparently never noticed. Now my son is facing complications because he needs surgery to extract it, and the braces actually pushed the tooth deeper. Now they want to charge me a fee to cancel the contract and keep billing me monthly. I am determined to report this to the dental board if the issue isn't resolved. Think very carefully before going to this place it is the absolute worst!!!!!!

Experiencia positiva: First impression, long wait. Got there early not knowing what to expect. An hour wait in waiting area where there was not enough seating for the amount of people waiting. Then called to back area where 6 chairs are occupied by patients. Did not see a doctor working on any of them while we waited another 45 min to an hour. Then doctor made the way down the line. This was just a X-ray and clean appointment. So not the best management of time. I’m hoping it’s not always like this. I will update review after next upcoming appointment where actual work on my child’s teeth is being done .

Experiencia negativa: I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the care and communication I have received from Children's Choice Dental concerning my son, who is on the autism spectrum and requires special accommodations for dental treatment. My son was supposed to be scheduled for a sedation procedure more than 2months ago; however, I was never contacted with the necessary information regarding the appointment. In addition, we attended an appointment on Friday expecting to be seen for an observation and consultation with the doctor. Upon arrival, we were informed that we could not be seen because our insurance information was not updated in your system. We were not notified of any insurance issues prior to the appointment, despite having an appointment scheduled. Had we been informed beforehand, we could have addressed the issue before taking time off and bringing my son to the office. As a parent of a child with autism, routine changes and missed appointments can be especially challenging. I am concerned about the lack of communication and coordination that led to these situations.

Very thorough with their procedures and explanations. The services were completed within 30 minutes. I'm impressed! Not sure how long they've been operable but, I wish I would've taken my daughter a long time ago.

They lack patience with children and perform their duties as if they weren't getting paid for it. I believe that if they hired staff who truly have a vocation for their work, it would be a comfortable place for patients. I am not speaking in general terms, however, as there are some dental assistants there who are genuinely kind and patient. I hope to find another clinic for my daughter soon; I do not wish to remain at a place where you are paying for a service, yet being treated as if it were free.

They gave me a contract for my son's braces, and a woman named Salina Gallegos drew it up without explaining anything about the contract. She just asked me what days I get paid so they can charge my card. I told her the exact days I receive my paycheck, but she didn't write them down. They're charging me on different days, and I have to pay an extra $25 because I don't have the money to pay on the days she scheduled the charges. She has refused to help me. She sent me to her boss, a woman named Juanita, who supposedly would help me set the exact payment dates. They keep saying they'll help me, but they don't. They just treat me like an idiot, telling me I should call the company that's taking the payments. But I've called them many times, and they've told me that they only handle the collections. The people who can help are the ones who made the contract for me, Salina Gallegos or Juanita, but they both refuse to help. So I don't recommend this place at all. Don't go to these people, don't take your children to Children Choice Dental Care because they'll just trap you in a contract and then won't help you.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this office based on our experience. I brought my young daughter in after she broke her front tooth, and the level of care we received was extremely disappointing. We were seen for only a few minutes and told to essentially leave the tooth as-is until it falls out, or consider pulling it (which they didn’t recommend). No X-rays were taken, and there was no thorough evaluation of the injury. Uncomfortable with that response, I sought a second opinion. The difference was night and day. The second dentist took the time to do proper imaging and identified that the tooth could have long-term complications if not treated. We were then referred to a specialist for appropriate care. This situation could have been handled very differently. I’m grateful we didn’t just accept the initial recommendation. If your child has a dental injury, I strongly suggest getting a second opinion.

Experiencia negativa: My son had an appointment today and my wife took him to Children Choice Dental of Antioch. After waiting 2 hours he was seen by the doctor and applied anesthesia and my son sneezed obviously a child gets uncomfortable and the doctor stoped the procedure and gave them another appointment… I know all these scammers and just getting money out of your insurance. I have contacted my insurance and I am seriously following up on this. This is the second time they are signing a waiver on us for the general anesthesia but they never do that and are wasting time. I don’t remember how many times we have been bothered waiting and wasting time and charging insurance for nothing. I’m waiting on the call back from my insurance and I will go from there.

My appointment was scheduled for 9:40, but I received a call the day before instructing me to arrive 20 minutes earlier, I agreed to. I arrived at 9:20 and spent 1 hour and 10 minutes waiting there, watching other patients arrived after us and they were called first. We were the only ones being completely ignored! It is unacceptable that they showed such disrespect for our time; it was highly unprofessional and completely unethical.

I’ve been taking my 4 year old to the dentist about 3 or 3 1/2 and never had the in-depth appointment we had yesterday! I do have to say that the dentist and hygienist were very professional and helpful. If you have a child with sensory needs, you may try calling ahead and asking for an appointment at a less busy time.

This time was the complete opposite that I felt the urge to update my review. She was attentive and greeted me with a warm smile, great communication and was very sweet. I’m happy to report that this is truly a great place and there are a lot of smiles and they truly care about children’s dental health. I also love how diverse it is. Everyone works well together! Unfortunately, today I experienced the worst customer service I’ve ever received, from Ingrid at the front desk. When I arrived, I waited in line to be checked in. Upon reaching the counter, Ingrid appeared visibly unhappy to be there, greeting me with a frown and a dismissive attitude. She also had her coat draped over herself, which came across as unprofessional. She informed me there was only a 10-minute grace period for my appointment and that I would need to reschedule, even though the actual policy allows a 15-minute grace period. With my three young children present, I reluctantly agreed. When I asked about rescheduling, Ingrid told me nothing was available until December. I requested a Saturday appointment since that works best with my work schedule, but her explanations kept changing—first saying Saturdays are scheduled at the beginning of the month, then stating they can’t be scheduled until one month in advance. The lack of consistency was very frustrating. Thankfully, another staff member (Jennifer) stepped in and handled the situation much more professionally. She explained the process clearly and even offered to follow up if an earlier appointment became available. She also clarified that the grace period is indeed 15 minutes, which directly contradicted what Ingrid had told me. In the end, my daughter’s appointment was unnecessarily canceled, even though I was still within the grace period. Rather than cause a scene, I chose to leave and share my concerns here. I truly value “Children’s Choice” and the care my children have received in the past, but Ingrid’s behavior today was unprofessional, dismissive, and not representative of the level of service I’ve come to expect. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as every family deserves to be treated with respect and consistency. ————————————————————————————— 1st Follow-up: I would like to update my review to recognize Jennifer at the front desk. She has gone above and beyond to make sure my daughter receives the care she needs. I'm so grateful to have a location very close to my home in Antioch. I am extremely grateful to all of the staff and doctors for the excellent care they provide.

Experiencia negativa: This is the second time dealing with one particular dentist. Both times, she is rude and very impatient with my son who is Autistic. Due to his Autism, I was trying to help him to open his mouth for her when she told me that she needed me to “get out of her way”. At this point, I let her try on her own. Due to her vibe of complete negativity, my son was not willing to work with her at all. She even went so far as to say, “I can’t see his teeth if he won’t open his mouth.” No kidding? Really? Glad you went to dentistry school to figure that one out there sparky. If she hates working with children this much, she really needs to get another job outside of children’s dentistry. I quite literally got up, took my son, and walked out. There was no way I was going to continue to allow this woman to not only treat my son horribly but also talk down to me! I will be removing my son from as a patient and never returning. *My previous review for this location was great as they had a very kind and patient dentist who took the time to get to know our son and bond with him so that he would actually allow her to see his teeth. She is gone now and I can’t find her at any other location.

Experiencia negativa: My son had a scheduled appointment at 6:30 AM. Following the clinic’s instructions, he did not eat anything after 10:00 PM. As a result, he cried the whole night from hunger and discomfort. We arrived at the clinic at 6:15 AM and waited in the parking lot because the clinic was still closed. The clinic did not open until 6:35 AM. When we finally entered, an anesthesia provider told me to wait for the rest of the staff. We waited until 7:15 AM, but no staff arrived. Then we were told that we would need to come back another day because they had a 7:30 AM appointment. This experience was extremely unprofessional, unacceptable and especially unacceptable for a pediatric patient who was required to fast overnight. It caused unnecessary stress, discomfort, and inconvenience for my child and our family.

Experiencia positiva: The cavity fillings and cleanings are super quick but the wait for the poor dentist running from patient to patient in between fillings or other procedures can be a bit long sometimes. Was a little thrown off with the dental assistant touching all the tools on the tray to lay them out with her bare hands before they gloved up to use them in my son’s mouth. ALL staff are extremely nice and sweet.

I even showed them children with a worst situation and they were still able to fill them in but yet they still pulled them out. The dentist didn't even tell me the desk receptionist had to tell me that they had already extracted them in the middle of procedure. They screwed me over I will never ever come back again, they don't care about us patients just be we're low funded, it makes no sense.

Experiencia negativa: This place has got to be the WORST place I’ve ever been too for so many reasons. My daughter needed quite a bit of work and had 4 different treatment appointments. She got through the first 3, all with 3 different dentists who all said contradicting things, and did okay. They did x-rays each appointment. Right before her 4th and LAST treatment they called me and told me she needed a cleaning before her last one. I brought her in and they said she needed full X rays. I said they had already done X rays on 3 parts of her mouth and would have to x ray the 4th at her treatment right, which they confirmed. I said I didn’t want to have more X rays just use the ones they had…. They argued with me and told me they wouldn’t be able to continue without them. I ended up agreeing because they kept insisting and I wanted to finish her treatment. They then told me she needed 3 ADDITIONAL treatments because there was more work needed in the 3 parts they had already done. Mind you those 3 treatments were within the last 2 weeks. I asked them if the cavities were seen during treatment and they said yes you can see them on the treatment X rays and I said why wouldn’t you take care of it then? They said they don’t do that they only treat what is planned. So you’re telling me you’re going to continue putting my 7 year old through dental trauma? Makes no sense. They then told me she needed to see the orthodontist and extract 4 teeth because she needed room. They told me she needed to be sedated and booked the appointment. When I left I was baffled and bothered. I ended up making her another appointment elsewhere for a second opinion and after fighting with children choice for a MONTH to get my daughters x rays went and saw them yesterday. The dentists have HORRIBLE bedside manner a zero compassion for the kids they are treating. They do NOT comfort them at all, everyone here seems miserable. My daughter was sobbing because they were telling me she needed all these extractions and more work done right in front of her. It was all very cold. My daughter has NO additional cavities besides what the 4th treatment was. She needs no teeth pulled and she does not need to be sedated. If anything he’s more concerned about the work they did! This place is a total fraud. It’s some weird money grabbing scheme and the try to perform work that isn’t needed. Do NOT go here.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently changed dentist to Children’s Choice Dental for my children, and overall the experience was a mix of positives and a few challenges. The office is definitely designed with kids in mind — bright, colorful, and welcoming, which helped my children feel more at ease. The staff were friendly and patient, and they did a good job explaining the process in a way my child could understand. On the downside, the wait time was longer than expected, and there was a bit of confusion with scheduling on one occasion. While the dental care itself was professional. Overall, I appreciate that the environment is kid-friendly and that the staff made an effort to keep my children comfortable. With some improvements in organization/ hiring more staff and communication, is easily a 5-star experience.

Experiencia positiva: The Dentist was behind schedule and when she returned back to the exam room. She had at least 10 children and their parents to discuss and explain the X-rays/ procedures. She seemed rushed and it was hard for me to understand what my child needed. the dental assistant that was assigned to my child forgot to do her fluoride treatment until we almost walked out the door.Didn’t have the medical history report for the Dentist and didn’t put a protection sheet on the exam table and the light protector sunglasses. This office should have more than one dentist and better dental assistants. The ratio for dentist and patients is unprofessional and strain for both parties.

Experiencia negativa: This dental office has no compassion for their patients nor the parents/grandparents involved with the procedures. From all our experiences here they are always behind on appointments and the dentists let the children cry without calming or trying to make it a more pleasant experience. My grandson had a procedure that they needed to use anesthesia to do the procedure. Upon finishing they would not let more than one person in the recovery room regardless of relationship. It was a very stressing situation for all involved. Although he said my grandson was doing fine, my grandson is like my own child and to be denied access to his care was NOT OK by any means. My grandson finds comfort with me sometimes more than anyone else. He came out of procedure with a huge swollen bottom lip that looked as though he bit a huge piece of his skin off and screamed all the way home in pain from the lip. The office said there was nothing that they could do for it. I'm so over businesses where their employees have no compassion for the patients and their families. I guess we wait and see now that the work they did doesn't have any further complications. Praying for my grandson and other children that go here. Time to find a new dental office.

Experiencia negativa: This dental appointment was the worst I have ever gone to. The front desk was incompetent.I was given the run around from the beginning of the appointment to the end. The floors were dirty. There was one young lady that appeared to be working. The rest was siting around chatting .I asked if someone could get the sticky stuff off the floor. I was ignored. I will never bring a child back to this place again .

Experiencia negativa: Everything was great until we met Monica when we were checking out. Monica, your behavior at this office was beyond unprofessional. The way you spoke to me was rude, dismissive, and completely unacceptable. Patients come here for care, not to be talked down to or made to feel like an inconvenience. If this is the way you choose to treat people, you should not be working in a healthcare setting. I strongly advise someone to take some opportunity to do some coaching on respect and professionalism not be outright mean. People should not be treated unfairly by their insurance race or any other judging factor. This is a place of business. To out right dare me to report her was just unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: The experience was overall not a good experience everytime I go in it's all new staff and the staff I'm there this time was not friendly my son had an appointment at 12:00 and he didn't get seen till 12:35 almost 12:40 and I was told at 12:10 someone will be with me in 5 mins at and it was 5 plus minutes till we were seen there was no acknowledgement or anything people kept walking pass me back and forth it was a lady on her phone sitting what look like to be their x-ray room it took another mother in there to say something for them to acknowledge me and they try to tell me my appointment wasn't till 12:30 and I had to show them on my phone it said 12:00 and seemed like they kept trying to make up excuses. Also was a lady she was walking past me and my son when she got closer towards us she started what seemed like was a mean smirky laugh towards us because it was anytime she walked past us. And seems like the have lack of empathy and just hire anyone there just from my previous experience there the last two times I had went there.

Experiencia negativa: Very "ghetto" run down looking place(there was a homeless man outside drinking beer whom could be seen through they're large barred windows). Very strange open area where they clean the children's teeth simultaneously, which made me ask the receptionist "is this a learning clinic for students?" She said "no" but I honestly don't believe her, half the staff looked inexperienced and right out of highschool. However the one lady who cleaned my daughter's teeth was nice, patient and kind to her, but she was having trouble with a computer that seemed to have shut off on her, which was questionable. Over all my daughter likes the place (most likely because they have TV's for them to watch while being worked on) but they scheduled her next appointment for 6 months away, and I'm not sure if we can have her wait that long. They printed me out the costs and what my medical will cover and their prices are more than fair. Like I stated before it's just a strange layout of a building.

Experiencia positiva: Is a little congested for me, but the wait time was very short, doctor was great and knowledgeable. She explained my son needs for dental care to the best of my knowledge. I will be taking my son back there very soon.

Experiencia negativa: The truth is that today I am very unhappy with the visit that my daughter had. She had a filler that they had to do to her. They had told me that it was going to take a while, but the truth is that the doctor who attended her this time was not very professional. She was an Indian doctor, well I think she was of that nationality. She did not wait long to be able to give her the anesthesia with the injection. It was not the same as the doctor who had treated her the last two times. My daughter felt the push and since then, my daughter became very nervous and she told me that it had hurt a lot. My daughter was crying a lot during the entire procedure, which she had not done the last two times, so they should take a good look at the doctors they catch because the truth is that I am already thinking about changing clinics. I am very sorry, but the truth is that I did not like that she was yelling at her.

Experiencia negativa: This is my 2nd review !! Very bad review ! My daughter was scheduled to have gas during her visit !! And she was given the same dentist who did procedure without gas and again my daughter was in pain procedure was rushed !! This is unacceptable prior to taking her to her appointment which my mother had to do , I called to confirm that my daughter would be under gas!! But when she arrived another nightmare she had to experience!!

Experiencia negativa: This was a new patient appt for my two sons. We were scheduled at 9 and 940. I arrived by 845am and there was already a line outside the office.The staff didn't arrive to the office until 9am or a little after. We werent able to check in until 910 and on top of it there were clients trying to do walk in appts. It was just very disorganized and you can tell staff was not happy to be there and were all over the place.We didn't get called back until 940am and several walk ins went ahead before us who actually had appts. On top of that, the sterilization machine was down so services besides xray could not happen. As I know that is out of general control you could hear the staff blaming eachother for the mishaps and during the xrays I could hear all the staff talking about whose mistakes it was or gossiping about others etc in English and in Spanish. There was no discretion for patient care. No privacy for patient care etc. Granted we are coming back because we had to reschedule if it's not better next time I probably will bring my kids somewhere else.

Experiencia negativa: I'm so disappointed in these people who are in charge of caring for patients and checking in for appointments. They pretend they don't listen to you. They're just here waiting for someone to feel like helping you. They might say, "Wait a minute, we'll see you." That's supposed to be their job, but they're in a bad mood and don't do their job well. I wish they'd train these people before giving them the job.

Said he had cavities and wouldn’t be able to get them filled for another five months because they were booked, we recommend trying to find another dentist

Experiencia fantástica: The name says it all! Im glad I switched my kids provider from western dental to children’s choice dental care! Staff are kind, from the receptionist to the dentist and anesthesiologist. They care for their patients and know the value of time not just the money.

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately, Don’t waste your time. My experience struggled in the following areas of improvement: - better checking process: the staff was friendly but a little chaotic. Unsure of what papers to ask me to fill as a first time patient. Some were completed by me prior to my visit. Some were completed when I first arrived and more paperwork about 20minutes into me waiting in the back to be seen. (Of this 3rd ask for info, repetitive information and papers to fill out) -shorten the long wait time: we got there and was checked in/called to the back fairly quickly but waited another 40minutes to see the doctor -doctor should be hospitable: she came over and asked his name. Didn't really greet us. Not much direction. No explanation of the condition of his teeth just questions if we give him a milk at night to prevent cavities. -doctor and dental assistant presentations: this is a KIDS dentist office. They both appeared to be dressed for surgery. The mask, face shields on top of scrubs and a gown. It's scared my son more than anything for her to only brush his teeth. -doctor gave little to no patient information or education to me as a parent: Just kind of gave me a "goodie" bag and told us the visit was complete. No follow up, no direction to schedule a next appointment. Overall a very cold and distant visit to be a kids dentistry. I chose this place because it is close to my home but I will not be back.

Experiencia negativa: I brought my kids to an appointment at 8:40 and they said they have no doctor and didn’t inform us before hand. I came a week before and they said they canceled my appointment because of no confirmation when it was confirmed.

Experiencia negativa: They make you wait about 45 minutes just to be seen for 5 minutes. I grew up not scared to go to the dentist and now with kids I dread going to take them in. The wait, the staff (dental assistant and dentist) all suck. They don’t know how to work with children especially with special needs children. I only bring my kid here because the other dentist are to full to take any new clients with my insurance.
