Experiencia negativa: After our dentist closed in Vacaville, Dr. Carlson sold his practice to Freedom Dental. I had nothing but issues with this dentist. I was asked to find a different practice after I politely asked questions regarding medical necessity regarding my son's wisdom tooth extraction. We ended up finding a different oral surgeon and while getting that 2nd opinion, it was confirmed we were being "upsold" with services that were not needed by freedom. I'm so glad we went somewhere else. Now I am trying to deal with them about a billing issue that they didn't process correctly and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Heather has got to be one of the most unprofessional people I have ever come across. Today I had to raise my voice on the phone because she kept trying to talk over me. She doesn't listen, she has no empathy and as the office manager she should understand that there is information that should be shared with patients ahead of them getting a bill that was never discussed. Receiving a bill from a 3rd party after all communication indicated everything was either covered by what I paid in person for the procedure or would be covered by having double dental insurance is ridiculous. Totally feel like I was sold a lemon used car and blindsided when the extra fees adding up without any communication on the front end. If accurate information would have been shared up front and I was treated like a human being, I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated. Freedom Dental doesn't care about the patient, they operate with the ideology of "you get what you get and you cant throw a fit."

Experiencia negativa: I am looking for a new dentist & called to inquire about pricing & quotes for needed services. I spoke with rep Heather who proceeded to rush me off the phone telling me I needed to provide her with the phone number for my insurance company & my member number (usually the company name & the last four digits of the ssn are all that I've needed to provide) & that if I wanted quotes I could look up the codes & call them myself to get the information. There was no mention of an inhouse billing department I should be speaking with instead. When I called back later that same day with the information she asked for I was told she was away from her desk. I left a message for a call back that I never received. I thought that with all of the wonderful reviews this office would be a godsend. Unfortunately, your front desk staff doesn't seem to think you need any new clients.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a root canal at this location, and Dr. Zhu is the kindest doctor I've ever met. He and his team made me feel safe and comfortable. The front desk staff is very friendly and attentive. Francisco, Jackie, and Samanta are very professional and always greet me with a smile. His assistant, Delmy, is very attentive and kind and made sure I was okay throughout the procedure. Dr. Zhu made this procedure painless. He is an amazing and humble doctor. Heather, the office manager is definitely a kind and professional person. You can tell she cares about her team; when the front desk was busy helping other patients, she made sure I was well taken care of. Thank you, Dr. Zhu and staff, for this wonderful experience.

Experiencia fantástica: While on vacation my crown came off. I called 8 offices and was told everything from ‘we aren’t accepting new patients to no emergency openings this week’. When I called Dr Zhu office Freedom Dental I was given an appointment today! His office staff extremely friendly! He was professional and personable. My cap was replaced and I was on my way to continue my vacation. I would recommend Dr. Zhu to everyone.

Experiencia negativa: Having gone there a year and a half ago for just an exam, I was sent a bill just now because my insurance wasn't processed in time, so now I have to pay out of pocket for this! They didn't do anything and billed almost $200 for an exam.

Experiencia negativa: It’s not easy writing this review, as someone with 10 years of customer service it takes a lot for me to write a negative review, LONG READ but worth it for right person. I went in for a simple filling last year (done by the Hispanic doctor, I’m blanking on the name), and started feeling discomfort when chewing on my left side. Same side the filling was done on and keep in mind I had no pain there before they did the work. I gave them the benefit of doubt and went back 4 more times for them to try and make adjustments for the filling work, I was only seen by Dr. Zu after my first filling was done. Any appointment with Dr. Zhu (owner) felt impersonal, rough on my mouth, and rushed as he would work on multiple people at once during my allotted time appt. On the 4th time I go back for the same thing, they finally tell me they think there was an air bubble trapped in my tooth from when they did my first filling. Dr. Zhu suggested to redo my filling saying he may be able to get it if he goes a bit deeper, I said okay and he redid it. After it healed I still had the same pain when chewing, even got a bit worse. I called to leave a voicemail for them about it and they called back a couple days later not even knowing I left a voicemail. I was told “they only put notes into a file when they have an appt” so because I simply called to leave a voicemail about the constant pain and wanting a game plan they never even placed this on my file. No wonder everytime I spoke with someone they kept telling me they didn’t see any notes in my file causing me to repeat myself all over again. After asking for a gameplan all they said was to come in for an appt to evaluate the situation, no call back to discuss what’s happening, no email, completely left in the dark. It was then that I decided this was not the dentist for me. Diamond over there who did a cleaning for me was awesome. I DO NOT recommend this place if you have anything more than a cleaning to do. I’m done going back and forth and have decided to simply go somewhere else, but it would be doing everyone else a disservice if I did not share my experience, I would hate for anyone else to go through this. I have no idea what my next options are, I think route canal will need to be done from a simple filling that went wrong. I can no longer chew on my left side of my mouth with anything slightly crunchy like chips due to the pain.

Her energy, her transparency, the way she interacted with my special needs son and cheered him on and took care of him like he was her own instantly it put me as a mom at ease and my child he did wonderfully. I can’t recommend Dr Zhu and Sarab enough!

It was Friday afternoon, and my dad was in pain with his teeth/gum, they took my dad in last minute and was very patient with us as we were also 20 minutes late. They were also very caring and thorough -- we were also very lucky that Dr. Zhu and team spoke Cantonese so that my dad can communicate with them. They gave my dad 2 options as well and didn't pressure him to do one procedure or the other. All in all, we were very grateful for this team and my dad got good care. I highly recommend them for any dentistry work.

My daughter fell and broke her permanent tooth They are the only dental office that is open and available. Dr. Chung took my daughter right away and treated her. The manager and everyone were very helpful. Dr. Chung worked late to ensure my daughter's tooth was fixed. I can't thank them enough for helping us. I appreciate your kindness and professionalism. But i can only give review to one person (her name is Lorena S.)because got to know how she worked with her patients, after She will explained and show the picture of your tooth what's bad and compare to a good one and tell you what to do and what needs to be done thoroughly. Experiencia fantástica: Doctor ZHU is honestly the most caring dentist I have ever encountered in my entire life. He absolutely goes above & beyond for his patients. I had a tooth emergency & every place I called told me they were 4 to 6 weeks out. Not only did doc, ZHU get me in on the same day. He personally performed the surgery. I am now a life long patient.

Experiencia fantástica: Added 1/4/24 - Came in for a cleaning from long-time hygienist Lorena Real-Salazar. Have seen her for many years now and have received excellent care each time. She looks out for general health issues as well. Very happy that she's there. ----------------------------------- Top notch dentist. High tech equipment, excellent service, pain sensitive and, above all, the man is an artist. He treats every tooth with the detail of a sculpture. He's a master with the Novocain shot, kind with the root canals, makes high tempered crowns while you wait and the implant I've had is my strongest tooth. No, he's not paying me to say all this - I've been with him for over 25 years and my teeth are much better for it. Highly recommended!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been going to this office since the current doctors dad was running it…. Her dad and I always had lots to talk about.. he was a very intelligent man to speak with. I truly enjoyed seeing him when I was there…. But things have changed. And I’m sad to have to post this note. I gave her a few chances and today, the straw was chosen, and it broke the stack….. first thing, ever since his daughter took over the Fairfeild office, and my visits, she has had an assistant, that seems Latino or of a Hispanic descent, that doesn’t know when to allow patient and doctor conversations to be allowed. Inserting her opinion and trying to help the doctor communicate to the patient. I’m sorry, I find it very unprofessional for it to happen, let alone allowing it to happen. To me, I’m seeing that the doctor doesn’t find it necessary to correct this behavior, or, it’s just me. Second, a person, an existing patient, comes in with a weeks worth of pain, with their own flats of the pain, comes to their trusted doctor for relief, and to be turned away solely because they’re “closing”….. “but, you can drive to our pleasant hill office” at 4:45pm… I heard, “sorry, we can’t be your hero to day, and oh, we’re closed tomorrow as well” Her dad, on the other hand, would have helped a guy out and been a true American hero. This is the end of my rant. Enjoy

Experiencia fantástica: I visited Freedom Dental on 8/30/23 for a deep cleaning, exam and xray for a tooth Lorena, Vanessa and Dr Zhu gave me their same stellar service I no longer live in the area but I will continue to be a patient at Freedom Dental My latest visit to Freedom Dental was on April 19, 2023, before I went on vacation on 5/12/2023. I called for a cleaning and a checkup for teeth sensitivity on a day when the office was closed, but Brandie was working and got me in. Lorena was thorough, informative, and sensitive as usual. She called Dr. Zhou in to review my mouth because of my sensitivity. He thought it best for me to see Dr. Van Bergen, my orthodontist, who shares the same office with him before moving forward. So I did, and Dr. Zhou came in, they conversed, I went on vacation, and now we will move on. Everyone at Freedom Dental is awesome! They are friendly and professional. They do everything they can to accommodate the patients. I have been a patient at Freedom since it was Freeman Dental, which is about 25 years! Ever since Dr. Zhou came to the practice he's the only dentist that I will allow in my mouth! Likewise, Lorena is the only hygienist I will allow in my mouth! I'm a cry baby....I don't handle pain well. Both Dr. Zhou and Lorena know this, so they make sure that I don't feel any. Vanessa is Dr. Zhou's sidekick, assistant, that I prefer, she's great! I know that everyone there is exceptional, BUT I'm spoiled. What else can I say!? Thank Goodness, Dr. Zhou bought the business! -------------------------------- Today 12/7/22 I took my daughter in to make an impression for a mouth guard, but Dr Zhu chose to wait until he had his other machine from the Pleasant Hill office for better accuracy. I love it! On 12/5/22, I went in to see Dr. Zhu because I had sensitivity on the front tooth filling that he did on 8/15/22, but I was so busy I couldn't tell him. Anyway, he replaced it free of charge, as it should be. So far, so good. Well, I have been late on updating my reviews on Freedom Dental, I've had so much going on. I went on 8/15/22 after I had a partial right knee replacement, and of course, they made sure I had my antibiotics before working on me. Dr. Zhu had to replace an old filling in front tooth that fell out. NOBODY works in my mouth except Dr. Zhu and his assistant Vanessa. And NO other hygienist except Lorena cleans my teeth. Don't get me wrong, everybody here is great, but I have my peeps! Love this place! I have been a patient at Freeman Family Dental for about 20 years, and they always take good care of me! My length of time as their customer speaks volumes. Everybody, and i mean everybody there is great! 10/27/21 Just had my teeth cleaned by Lorena today. She's been cleaning my teeth for over 25 years! As usual, she did an excellent job! Dr. Zhou did a quick check-up and adjusted my retainers. These two people are the only ones that work in my mouth! Need I say more? No! 10! 4/7/21 Well, today, I had a root canal at Freedom Dental with Dr. Zhou and his assistant Raquel. They were great! Nobody works on my teeth except Dr. Zhou, need I say more? He does EVERYTHING! AND Lorena, my hygienist is excellent! I've been going here now for over 25 years. Dr. Zhou and his staff are heaven sent ! An added benefit is that my orthodontist Dr. Van Bergen is located in the same office! Now that is service! Thank you, Dr. Zhou!

Experiencia fantástica: I have always had this irrational fear of dentists like most people. However, my perception totally changed when I was referred to Freeman dental by a friend. Dr.Alaie and her staff were extremely accommodating and always maintained a cheerful environment. For someone who stresses even at the sound of the dentist drill, I would walk out smiling knowing that I had such an amazing team caring for me. Special thank you to Vanessa, who was always courteous and informative, she made sure my visits were always stress free and even coached me through a very difficult procedure. Dr. Alaie deserves more praise and accolades then any other dentist I have seen in the past, which says something. We need more dentists like her !! I would definitely recommend this facility, especially if you are like me and have a fear going to the Dentist.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been seeing dental hygienist Lorena for at least five years. She is thorough , friendly and caring and has saved at least two of my teeth as well as improved my gums. Thank you so much Lorena. My crown came off this weekend and Dr. Zhui fixed it first thing this morning. Thanks everyone for taking such good care of me. It has been another five years and Lorena and Dr Zhui are still as wonderful as ever. I highly recommend them both.

Experiencia fantástica: I am fearful of Dentists and hadn't gone to a dentist since mine retired. Firstly I found their Hygienist Lorena to b exceptional. She was very gentle but also extremely thorough. Then Dr Alaie gave me a few fillings. She was extremely patient, gentle, and skilled. Yulisa and all the staff were courteous, tactful, and kind, as well as extremely professional. I will go back for all my dental needs within their scope of practice. I was impressed and pleasantly surprised with the excellent treatment I received there and Highly recommend them.

Experiencia fantástica: I added an addendum to this review. I went to Freedom Dental to see Dr. Zhou. He did my initial visit and talked me “off the side of the bridge” due to my fear! I had hidden for quite a bit due to the COVID scare. Dr. Zhu is now the owner! But that’s the only change. The excellence and quality remain the same, luckily for me because I remain the same scaredy-cat. They have a great gentle dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth to perfection. And I saw another new doctor who reattached my bridge without pain or meds and with a touch of humor! How often does that happen?! I’m so happy that they have been available for my my dental needs especially my emergencies. Addendum: Due to an insurance change I had to go to an insurance approved dentist for my next cleaning. The approved dentist did a checkup and the result was over $6,000.00 of work! Painful and Ridiculous! So I went to Dr. Zhu for a second opinion and he told me I didn’t need any of that work. So I got my teeth cleaned yet again by Freedom Dental. I’ll pay out of pocket before trusting anyone else! People be careful out there!

One day I was in the rain and happened to stop off to the side of the road when, I saw Freedom dentist. I took a picture of the number and later called them. I tell you, from the time I spoke to the receptionist Brandy to the time I left my appointment , I couldn’t believe how awesome that office was. The Doctor has the best personality I every seen in a doctor. They took very good care of me and I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a great experience at the dentist office. Experiencia fantástica: I have had several procedures here including sedation dentistry. They have always been wonderfully caring and professional. The hygienist Thuy is very thorough professional and caring.She is also very gentle while cleaning my teeth due to me having sensitive teeth. Thuy cleans my teeth every 3 months and with my frequent cleanings my teeth have gotten stronger and whiter. I can't say enough good things about the staff and good dental work that they do. In the past I have had many cavities filled and a root canal. They do awesome work. All the staff are very compassionate and caring. They have great up to date technology and care about their patients comfort and well being. I am happy I found this place. Great staff and dentists. Dr Zhu does awesome dental work. He is caring and sensitive to whatever dental issues u may have.

Everyone was friendly and made me feel calm and relaxed. They explained everything to me and answered all my questions. They were patient and understanding with me and my anxiety. Definitely found my new dentist and will be referring out.

Experiencia negativa: A very friendly staff. Always nice. But really bad business practice. We’ve been here since 2013, when it was Freeman. Now they want to ignore when life happens and an appointment needs to be rescheduled. So rather than endure cold customer service, we’ve left. They lost a family of 6 over $75 reschedule fee. Seems smart

She explained the importance of rinsing my mouth after drinking acidic drinks. I will gladly recommend this facility for cleaning.

Experiencia fantástica: I came in as a new patient with excruciating pain from 1 tooth. EVERYONE i mean EVERYONE in Vallejo that I called either didn't have any emergency appts until July 11 or in order to be sedated I had to have 2-4 or more teeth being extracted just to be sedated. My husband and I came in a lil before 8 am. Dr. Cheng Zhu saw how much pain I was having and decided that he'd assist me.. The office wad so clean. The office staff was so friendly and patient from the time I arrived to the time I was put in my car. This is the quickest service I've ever experienced, especially not having made an appt. Everyone was so understanding. They have were truly my life saver, and I truly thank God for them
