CareCredit is a third-party option that offers a way to finance treatments and procedures not covered by your insurance. This is a no-interest financing option that offers low minimum monthly payments that let you get the care you need when you need it.
We accept most traditional plans, so please contact our office to verify acceptance of yours. At Tampa Dentistry, we do not participate with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) but we will file your claim on your behalf. We are always happy to handle processing of all insurance claims as long as you have the freedom to choose your own dentist.
A dental crown is custom-made to fit over a damaged natural tooth. It restores the function of the tooth and provides strength and support. Dental bridges are also versatile and have a number of uses.
Everyone wants a smile that is healthy and beautiful, and we can help you reach that goal by using crowns and bridges. Updated techniques and treatments have made the placing of crowns and bridges easier than ever before.
A dental bridge is used to fill the space left by a missing tooth. The bridge is usually made as a single unit that is held in place by crowns on adjacent teeth. A dental bridge not only improves your appearance but also prevents surrounding teeth from shifting out of place and moving into the space left by a missing tooth.
A dental crown or bridge can usually be placed in two or three visits. First, we prepare your natural tooth to receive the restoration and then impressions are taken of your teeth. The impression accurately represents the position of your natural teeth so that your restoration fits perfectly.
The impressions are sent to a special dental lab, where they are used to create your permanent restoration, which usually takes about two weeks. Before you leave our office, we fit you with a temporary bridge or crown that you wear while the new crown or bridge is being prepared.
Once the restoration is finished, we will schedule an appointment for you to return to our office. At that time we check the finished restoration for proper fit, making adjustments as necessary. Finally, the restoration is cemented permanently into place.
Before you leave our office, we will give you instructions on caring for your new restoration. The restoration is fully functional, but you should remember that it requires special care to prevent damage and the need for replacement. If you practice proper oral hygiene and schedule regular dental cleanings, your new restoration will last for many years.

Minor esthetic flaws can sometimes be corrected using an affordable, non-invasive procedure called dental bonding. Dental bonding can be beneficial for patients who want to avoid dramatic procedures but have some small concerns about the appearance of their teeth.
Cosmetic dental bonding is pretty simple, but if your teeth are yellow or stained, you may consider whitening your teeth before dental bonding treatments since the composite material cannot be bleached. A custom composite shade will be matched to your natural teeth so that the bonding we do will blend seamlessly and be virtually undetectable.
First, we will etch (roughen) the surface of your tooth. A conditioning agent will be applied to prepare your tooth to bond to the composite material. Next, composite material will be applied in several layers and hardened with a special curing light.
One of the main advantages of cosmetic bonding is that minimal prep work on your tooth is required. That means that your tooth will be left intact, and we will be adding the composite material as needed. Because bonding is non-invasive, you should be quite comfortable during your procedure.

When you are first fitted for dentures, you may have to wear them all the time, including while sleeping. This will allow your dentist to quickly find spots that need to be reshaped due to discomfort or irritation. After the dentures are properly fitted to your jaw, dentures can be removed at night.
While dentures are not real teeth, you will want to care for them as if they were. Brush your dentures to remove food particles before removing them. You will need to deposit your dentures into warm water or a denture cleaning solution as soon as you remove them from your mouth. Hot water can warp dentures, so be careful!

Sudden Tooth Pain – Significant tooth pain with no apparent cause results in many an emergency dental visit. Tooth pain should never be ignored. Many serious conditions can cause tooth pain including:
Chipped or Fractured Teeth – Chipped or broken teeth can be caused by sudden trauma to the mouth or by simply biting down on a hard object. Sometimes this happens because you had a cavity and didn’t know it, and the internal structure has been weakened. If possible, keep the chip or piece that broke off of the tooth and bring it with you to your appointment.
Lost Teeth – Whether your tooth was knocked out due to an injury or you lost a tooth for no apparent reason, losing a tooth is a dental emergency. In some cases, we can replace the tooth if we can get to it fast enough, but sometimes a lost tooth will have to be replaced with a dental implant or a bridge.
Our chances of saving the tooth are best if you retrieve the tooth and quickly rinse it with cool water, avoiding the root area. Try to replace the tooth back in the socket, but don’t force it. If the tooth can’t be replaced in the socket, keep it in a glass of milk. Call our office immediately.

Unfortunately, the problem of missing teeth goes beyond the cosmetic issue. Missing teeth put additional stress on your remaining teeth and can lead to damage, including fractures and even further tooth loss. When you are missing teeth, you may find it difficult or even painful to enjoy the fresh, healthy foods you need for proper nutrition and nourishment.
Even more concerning, one or more missing teeth can eventually lead to significant bone loss in your jaw as the tissue becomes atrophied from lack of use. Over time, this diminishing bone can lead to visible changes in your face and cause you to appear prematurely aged.
When you visit our office to discuss dental implants, we will ask you a number of questions about your health history. These questions are important to help us determine whether dental implants are the right option for you. Don’t worry – even if you do have a health concern, we are likely to still be able to work with you. We just need to know about it so that we can account for it and take any necessary precautions.
The titanium posts for your implants will then be placed. Once you have healed sufficiently, you may receive a temporary crown over the implant while we wait for your permanent crown to return from the dental lab. Once the permanent crown has returned from the dental lab, you will return to our office to have it placed. The fit and appearance will be checked, and your implant will be complete.
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is caused by plaque that builds up on the teeth and especially under the gumline. The sticky plaque attracts bacteria and eventually turns into hard tartar. The tartar and bacteria irritate the gums and cause infection.
Brushing twice daily and flossing every evening using good technique will help remove a lot of plaque, but even the most diligent brusher and flosser may have a hard time cleaning off all the plaque, especially the plaque that hides under the gumline. How your gum disease is treated will depend a great deal on how advanced it is and how much damage it has caused. It’s important to treat gum disease, even in the early stages. Untreated gum disease will not only progress in your mouth but can also lead to health troubles throughout the rest of your body.
Mild gum disease can often be treated with a renewed commitment to good oral hygiene habits and an antimicrobial mouthwash. Moderate-to-advanced gum disease may require a deep cleaning treatment known as scaling and root planing. During this treatment, we remove the tartar from below the gumline and get rid of the rough spots where bacteria tend to gather.

8 months ago Experiencia negativa: I went in to Tampa Dentistry for a basic/routine teeth cleaning. My dental insurance covers 2 cleanings for free including X-rays (1x per year) which is excellent. The dentistry still charged me at the door anyways when they shouldn’t have but I paid anyways. I think for a required “Tooth Inspection” where they tell you your teeth look great before cleaning them. The staff was nice & friendly but it was clear they spent next to no money on equipment or supplies compared to other dentistries. The cleaning mainly consisted of a metal toothpick, a toothbrush, and some dental floss. While the staff seem competent, the supplies looked as low-grade as it gets. I already wasn’t planning on going back based on that alone but the trigger for this review was the weirdness of getting emails and text messages for a new dental bill! I had declined the fluoride upcharge and already paid at the door which alone was an incorrect/double billing since my dental insurance makes it all free. I have never had a dental bill message before in my 20+ years of experience of basic teeth cleanings roughly twice per year. In that experience, the only times I’ve had to pay at the door (with dental insurance) was if I accepted the fluoride up-charge. Super shady. It’s worth the drive to go somewhere else.

In your case, your plan applied a copay toward your exam and x-rays, which is why you received a bill. Unfortunately, we don’t control how your insurance processes claims, we just follow their rules.

8 months ago Experiencia fantástica: As a breast cancer survivor I was in need of a lot of dental work. I bit the bullet and had everything done at Tampa Dentistry. My treatment required several appointments and procedures. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating to my schedule. I have been pleasantly surprised that there were not any additional costs beyond the initial fees. Give them a try. You will be very satisfied.

11 months ago Experiencia fantástica: One of our guests in our housing business, H & A Second Chance Housing Inc woke up to a horrible toothache and a swollen jaw. After calling several dentist offices with negative results, we called Tampa Dentistry. They were very friendly on the phone and said they would be willing to see him if his insurance was approved. They explained the process and our guest agreed. It was a very quick process and he was approved. He was very comfortable with them and felt he was treated fairly and he definitely felt better after he was seen. We are definitely grateful for Tampa Dentistry! 1 year ago Experiencia positiva: My first time going there this morning. Very pleased with the staff and Dr. Westerman. Glad I found them. This is an update on my previous post. It's been 8 months and although I was having problems the staff took their time until it was solved. Everyone is super nice, friendly, and professional. Love me some Amanda and Kianni (sp) I call her Kiki. Dr. Boe ( sp) is very good. Although some of the staff is no longer there since I first went ( they transferred to be close to home)... everyone is still nice and caring about their patients. I recommend. I'm not crazy about the lab they use though. This is another update on my previous posts. Although I was posting reviews before everything was done, I'm now feeling very different. Whereas, I thought everything was solved, it wasn't. After all that... come to find out my Medicare wasn't going to pay and I didn't find out until after the review. My insurance at the time covered dentures and they accepted it as well. I didn't know nor was I told that you can only get dentures once every 5 years. Who knows that? In addition, the insurance that I used in 2021 was really a "discount" Program that I'm still paying for today. Now I'm stuck with paying two dental bills and my teeth are unwearable. I assumed they were gonna fix them when I gave the last review in which I also stated I didn't like the lab. They kept "fixing" them, but they must be for a horse. A year later, nothing has been done. I'm a retired person on a fixed income but paying for something I can't use. If they would at least correct the problem I would be satisfied. I'm not the complaining type but I try to check in to see what can be done at least once a month. It's been over a year. If they can just fix them I'd be happy and they keep promising to call me back and don't. If they're not gonna fix them, at least forgive the remaining 1k I owe. I asked for my dental records to present to an attorney but all I got was an x-ray that I can't see. I didn't want to write this review, but I feel like they could've mentioned the 5 year thing when I first went in instead of after they did everything. I'm very disappointed in Tampa Dentistry on Busch Blvd Another update..4/11/2025. I would think after my reviews, they would try to rectify the situation. I've heard nothing.. still paying for teeth I can't wear and haven't heard a peep from there. I will not recommend them ever !

Every person working there including the front desk staff, hygienists, and dentist are so kind, efficient, and communicative so I always knew exactly what to expect and felt taken care of. The cleaning was gentle and I appreciate (sorry forgetting her name) the hygienist who did my cleaning she made sure I knew what was happening! Major shoutout to Sailor, the hygienist who did my X-rays..Wow! She blew me away with her kindness always making sure I was comfortable and how fast/hard she works! After going to some very bad dental offices in the past, I highly recommend Tampa Dentistry!!

I have had a number of friends switch to this practice and our quite happy with them. I switched from my last dentist of 15 years about a year ago, and so has my girlfriend.

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: UPDATE to my review from Years ago.. I've been a patient at Tampa Dentistry for over four years and, until recently, have had mostly positive experiences. The staff was always friendly, and they had no issue filing claims with my insurance—until now. After my last appointment, I received an unexpectedly high bill, despite verifying multiple times that my insurance would cover the visit. I was reassured it was filed, but when I called my insurance company, they confirmed that no claim was ever submitted. Since then, I've been flooded with texts, emails, and letters demanding payment. Each time I've reached out to Tampa Dentistry for clarification, I've been met with silence—no returned calls, no response. It feels like their approach to billing has drastically changed, and it's left me feeling frustrated and ignored. This lack of communication and disregard for proper billing practices has lost them a loyal patient. I would strongly caution anyone considering this office. They promise to file with your insurance but don’t follow through, leaving you with a hefty bill and no one to talk to except automated payment requests. Save yourself the trouble and look for a practice that respects their patients' time, money, and trust. --- OLD REVIEW: Everyone in the office is kind and helpful. When I needed immediate care, they scheduled me as soon as possible. My overall experience has been fantastic.

Thanks for your update. We completely understand how frustrating insurance issues can be, especially when a claim disappears into the void for over a year before finally being paid. It's kind of like ordering a pizza, waiting 12 months, and then blaming the delivery driver for your hunger.
We did submit your claim promptly, as we always do. Unfortunately, we don’t control how (or when) your insurance chooses to process it. We follow up with them monthly. Yet somehow, the frustration lands squarely on us—the office that provided the quality care you desired, not the one that delayed payment.
We’re genuinely sorry if our follow-ups came off as cold or automated. Our priority is always to help patients navigate these situations, even when insurance makes it unnecessarily complicated.

My daughter is getting married next week and I was very concerned and in pain. The wonderful staff immediately set up an appointment to fit me in and Dr. Boe diagnosed the problem. Had not been to the Dentist in a couple years and during my last visit to Bright Now Dental they told me I had several dental issues which were false. After a comprehensive exam all I needed was a cleaning. Doctor was great as well as all other staff members ! Update - 12/30/2021 - Another amazing visit , had a quick filling to take care of and was in and out in less then an hour. Great team !

I wasn’t sure if to believe all these reviews at first but I can honestly say this is one dentist I don’t feel scared going to and I’m looking forward to getting back to better health. Their plans and pricing are some of the best I’ve seen and their service is highly recommended! They are so genuinely nice, I got in and out for my consultation and have an appointment next week to fix my tooth pain! I used to dread going to the dentist but if this experience is what I have to look forward too I’ll get my tooth health back on track!!

1 year ago Experiencia fantástica: I've only had 2 visits, but both were pleasant experiences. Staff and Dr Boe are nice. Had a cleaning done, tech was proficient and friendly, took all of 20 minutes, no discomfort. Highly recommended.

1 year ago Experiencia fantástica: Extremely pleased with the staff, Dr. Boe, Jose, everyone that I have encountered at this Tampa location. Dr. Boe is amazing, explains thoroughly the process/procedures, etc. It's hard to find good dentists nowadays so I'm glad I found this practice!

1 year ago Experiencia fantástica: Clean, easy to schedule, everyone was friendly, compassionate, and helpful. First time I have been to a new dentist (new to me) that didn’t try to upsell products and procedures. I never felt pressured or shamed. Excellent customer service.

1 year ago Experiencia fantástica: Amanda was outstanding and helpful. Pleasant to deal with. I have to say I really appreciated Dr Boe’s knowledge and expertise. He was open and honest. Didn’t try to upsell me on procedures that I need to have done. His approach was let’s handle priority issues first and we can talk about the rest as I need them. I’ve had other dentists tell me I need everything done immediately and upsell me on products. Etc. we have found our new dentist!

Not only is Dr. Boe very friendly, personable and very knowledgable but his staff is as well. Especially his Lead Dental Assistant Amanda.
