Experiencia negativa: It’s been difficult for me to find a reliable dentist, I chose this place because of the reviews. Being an adult and having the funds to finally fix my teeth, I’ve been hopeful with seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, this place has been an expensive disappointment. Went in for a crown and the crown placed is too large. They said not all teeth are supposed to perfectly match, however, you can clearly see the difference in size is substantial. After I requested a replacement, they said no and chose to shave it down. With that, they also shaved down my big tooth in the front which now has a slant to it. After getting a second opinion, and third, it was concluded that any doctor could see the disparity and should do the right thing for the patient. The office staff are above par with customer service, but with the amount of money these procedures cost, I now have to get a new crown to replace this one. I will have to submit a claim to my insurance and also considering submitting a complaint to the dental board to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. EDIT: Keeping the aforementioned review in mind, my complaint is that the tooth is too large, and they refused to replace. Nothing I said speaks about a gap. As a patient, I’ve learned not to sign any post consent forms stating the work is satisfactory, you are not a dentist and this is not required of you. As I stated, any doctor can see the disparity and would ethically do the right thing. Their response is a clear representation to neglect accountability.

They never enmend a damage and always charge for repairing their own bad job. (What caused my bad review still in my mouth) It was a chain of degrading situation and I still feeling the effects.

Dr. Matthew Sorsok took time to understand what I was looking for from a doctor and accommodated all my dental needs. He is incredible at what he does - my care was efficient and painless. The receptionists are great and take time to explain everything. I had a ton of questions the front desk Amber and Emily never made me feel bad about asking questions. 10/10 team.

Experiencia negativa: I clearly stated during the consultation that I was looking for bonding, matched to the color of my natural teeth — not veneers and definitely not anything involving shaving down healthy tooth structure. I even showed photos of the type of bonding I wanted, as well as examples of overly white, artificial-looking veneers that I do not want. Despite that, the doctor presented me with a treatment plan that listed veneers, which is completely different from what we discussed. This is not about the price — it’s about the fact that a completely different procedure was proposed than the one I came in for. If you have a dentist skilled enough to do aesthetic bonding in the correct shade without shaving my teeth, I would be happy to return to your clinic.

Making my appointment was easy as I did it online then received a follow up text and call to confirm my appointment. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and they were on time for my appointment. I received great care for my tooth. I had a chipped tooth that was bothering me terribly. I was treated with care by Dr. Sorsok who explained everything to me as well as the dental assistant who did my temporary crown. All the details of my insurance was explained to me. I go back in a few weeks for my permanent crown. I'm glad I chose South Tampa Smiles.

It’s hard finding a dental office that will take my tricare insurance and I’m so happy they do. I initial came in due to the military telling me I had a cavity…I don’t trust the military with my dental care so I immediately made an appointment with south Tampa smiles. On my first visit they did a cleaning and X-rays and determined the tooth the military said had a “cavity” was in fact wrong and it was a different tooth. They explained everything to me and were able to get me an appointment 2 days later to do a filling. I’ve had nothing but great care, the hygienists and doctors are amazing!

This dental office is fantabous!!!!!!!! The moment you enter you are at ease. The staff at the front desk are warm and friendly. The large waiting area is bright. The appointments are on time! The dental assistants are friendly, yes, but they are careful, knowledgeable and work delicately. No painful tugging, no unnecessary prodding. Quick and efficient. Then the star of this wonderful production shows Dr. Cannariato. Amazing. Simply amazing. He is warm and funny, but importantly he is a brilliant dentist. Did he give me a shot? Yes. Did I feel it or have discomfort? No. Did he have to drill? Yes. Was it awful? No. My tooth had cracked and needed a crown. In the past this was a long and painful visit. This was so fast with no pain!!! In/out maybe 30 mins with precision and accuracy. Follow up for perm crown -15 mins!!! My fear of dentists has literally been cured strictly because of the entire South Tampa Smiles team. There is no reason to go to any other dental office, especially if you are nervous about dentists. This is a wonderful office!!!

Experiencia negativa: On February 18, I had the opportunity to visit South Tampa Smiles. I have been visiting South Tampa Smiles for my dental treatments for over five years. This time, I had an infection in a tooth. The infection had already cleared by the time they took X-rays of the tooth. The tooth had no cavities, no issues—it was perfectly fine. However, the hygienist performing my cleaning told me, “I recommend that we extract the tooth because you don’t need it.” I asked, “But is the tooth damaged? Does it have a cavity?” They responded, “No, but you don’t need it.” That is not professional medical advice; that is the advice of a salesperson trying to make money. I had to ask if there was any way to save the tooth since it wasn’t damaged, and the response was, “No, you don’t need it.” That is not a valid medical reason to extract a tooth. Be careful where you go and where you seek medical services. I can’t complain about the service from the receptionists—the front desk staff at South Tampa Smiles is excellent. Everyone at reception is great. However, I did not like the advice I was given—it felt more like the advice of a salesperson trying to make money. Update 3/9/2025 The tooth they wanted to extract had no cavities. I have no issues in my mouth at the moment. It has been a month and a half, and the tooth was never at risk of being lost, so there was no need to “save” it because there was nothing wrong with it. It was just a minor infection that I managed to treat with antibiotics—which I had to specifically request because they initially refused to prescribe them. I asked for them to save my tooth because your proposed treatment was to remove it. It’s nice that you’re replying to my comment, but your response doesn’t truly reflect what actually happened. What you wanted to do at the office was extract my tooth without any valid medical reason because there was nothing wrong with it.

Experiencia negativa: Went there to have an upper molar pulled as they had already seen me the week before to determine this. Sat in the dental CHAIR and the assistant swabbed my mouth to begin the numbing process then the dentist came in and stated he was uncertain about something (words one never wants to hear from a doctor)and began to repeat the same procedure performed the week before which included tapping various teeth and shooting ice spray substance around the molar and other areas near it. He then said he could not do it(remove the tooth) . He then brought in another dentist who specializes in root canals (something I already told him was out of the question). ...long story short they ended up giving me a referral slip for an oral surgeon they regularly use. Now, wouldn't you think a dentist who has been in practice for over 2 decades had to conclude this the week before? Or are they just that INCOMPETENT? Drove ALL the way down to SOUTH TAMPA to get ZERO done. They had to reverse the charge. I have since gone to an unreferred surgeon and it would not have worked to have a root canal and crown done in that area due to the crown and molar so very close to the wisdom tooth.Do your self favor and STAY AWAY from this place!
