Fantastic experience: After 20 years of not going to a dentist due to severe dental anxiety, I am safe to say I found my new dental home! From start to finish the staff were incredibly kind, patient and non judgmental. You can tell they love their jobs and taking care of patients. If you have any sort of traumatic dental experiences or anxiety in general this is the BEST option. They are also very up front with pricing and not pushy which is important to me as I pay out of pocket. Sydney was especially amazing as easing my worries and made sure to check on me multiple times throughout the encounter. Happy to be have found such a wonderful practice of humans.

Fantastic experience: Very warm from the outset. Each staff member including Dr. McVety was genuinely personable, comforting, reassuring and respectful as if I were the most important person in the building. I felt no shame for any dental issues i came in with. The examination was totally gentle. After this my initial visit i was telling a friend that I realized I never felt rushed whatsoever. For me it was a “red letter day”! For such a clearly what i consider high end practice, the team is delightfully down to earth .. good vibes !

But , I did not need any of the calming measures because she was the calming force , her eye contact , warm quiet voice was what kept me in that chair ! If you suffer from dental anxiety , you need to go here , and then checking out was so heartfelt and understanding with finances .. I am so sorry I can’t remember her name being 67 , but I remember her beautiful accent and she was incredible !!! Obviously , am returning , as nervous I am with dentistry , but your office is so comforting , will meet the Doctor in Nov ! Went home feeling grateful

Fantastic experience: Great office, very welcoming and helpful. Moved to Maine almost a year ago and honestly was overdue for an appointment. I’m autistic so I put off things like this a lot because of the uncertainty of what the experience will be like. But here it was phenomenal! They walked me through everything before and while it happened, made sure I understood before proceeding, and took care to explain everything to me in terms I could understand. They even had a TV on the ceiling so I could watch a show on netflix while they worked on my teeth. 10/10 definitely recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I have terrible dental anxiety which makes me burn off local anesthetic within minutes which has led to horribly painful procedures in the past (and worse anxiety!). My teeth were in rough shape and I needed a lot of work done and I was feeling so hopeless about how I would get through it. Someone recommended Casco Bay Smiles and it was a game changer. I was able to get everything done under oral sedation - no pain and no memory of the procedures. Dr. McVety's work is amazing and my mouth feels so much better. Everyone in the office is so kind and sensitive to those with dental fears, from the front desk to the hygienists, I would 10/10 recommend to anyone with anxiety.

Fantastic experience: I have a history of depression that has made taking care of oral hygiene particularly difficult. Going to the dentist is one of my greatest fears. I felt very validated and safe here and everyone was incredibly kind from the receptionist, the medical assistants, hygienist, and MD. They offer several modalities of pain management and things to help with anxiety for the duration of treatments. Absolutely recommend to anyone especially with a history of dental anxiety.

I was especially impressed that they were able to make me a same-day temporary retainer, which was a huge relief and showed how much they genuinely care about their patients. They also use the latest technology, which made the entire process smooth, fast, and reassuring. The staff took the time to explain everything and made sure I was comfortable the entire visit. I can’t recommend them enough—exceptional service all around!

Fantastic experience: Just went in for my first cleaning. Great experience, friendly staff that care about doing a great job. Also the doctor did not jump on the opportunity to sell me Invisalign when I asked about it, and made it clear that I did not need it, though it was an option if I wanted it. I've been to dentists that felt like they wanted to push me into treatments, and did not feel that way here. Felt cared for and left happy!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I, both in our mid 70's, needed dental care. My wife was extremely anxious about her treatment. Her last dentist brushed off her concerns and made no accommodations addressing her concerns. Dr. McVety listened to her and understood what she needed and arranged IV sedation that ensured her comfort and reduced her anxiety. I have just started a dental program with Casco Bay Smiles and am very impressed with Dr. McVety and his staff. His relaxed approach and willingness to take the time needed to assess my needs was assuring that our decision to go to Casco Bay Smiles was correct.

Since the first phone call to the consult and into my cleaning this mornin, I’ve been so very impressed with their team, their professionalism and overall care. Everyone on their team have been great so far butDani and Katelyn Have really impressed me with their knowledge and patient care. I’ve booked a teeth cleaning for March and I am currently a lot of work to be done with them in the next 30 days. Fantastic experience: My name is Gloria Juarez and this is my story. Well short story. I'm a mom of 10. My teeth have always been a problem for me growing up my mom Mom lost her teeth early too.She chased me around the house with them scaring me so you can say I had extreme Anxiety and emotions going to the dentist everywhere I went. The price was outrageous. I need root canals, extractions some told me there's no point in fixing my teeth just pull them all out that would be cheaper that I couldn't afford implants till one day I came across Casco Bay smiles in Falmouth it was a long shot and my last hope. Honestly I've seen already so many specialist and I've been denied and led to believe there was no hope left I was embarrassed emotional downright all over the place when I showed up there, but they greeted me as a person showed me hospitality made me feel comfortable like no other place has showed me. The staff is amazing. Danny personally helped me change my life and Dr. McVety I owe it to them. I don't know how to repay them yet but I know I owe them more than just money. They gave me a reason to smile so yes, I recommend them with my heart and soul and I thank them beyond words can explain. I blessed them all for there compassion, and their love . They are so caring we need more people like them in this world. not to mention, I'm a tough person to please coming from a mom of boys so my words mean a lot to me.

Fantastic experience: I visited the office for a crown. Dr. McVety was kind and thorough, accommodating my time constraints. Unfortunately I am not local and had to fly back for the permanent crown, which didn't fit perfectly (now, the office offers same-day crowns). There was some back and forth with the forth desk, but the dentist reached out and and helped me find a workable alternative given the logistics. It meant a great deal to me. He clearly cares about his work. If I lived locally I would go to his office. Thank you for your help, Dr. McVety.

Fantastic experience: This being my first appointment at a new dentist after seeing my family dentist since I was child, I was a bit nervous. However, all the staff was super friendly and welcoming and an absolute pleasure to work with. Interestingly, Dr. McVety and his staff identified some issues that did not seem like they were recent happenings to some of my teeth and made me curious if this was something glossed over by the new dentist who took over for my retiring doctor. All in all, I can't recommend this practice enough after just one visit and I look forward to continued care with Dr. McVety and his staff!

Negative experience: Staff was nice but the day's description of appointment was lacking. It took two hours and i left without receiving what I came for which was a cleaning. There was no mention until after the appointment that the insurance wouldn't be accepted and wasn't in network. A lack of communication was felt throughout the experience.

I had an emergency tooth problem Casco Bay Smiles was the only place out of 100 I called over three days of extreme pain, who got me an apt that same day! Also the fact they all made me feel so much better stating its a judgment free zone. The extraction was done fast and the dentist walked me through every step. I am beyond thankful for their amazing care.

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and they had me come in first thing this morning. Dr McVety and Emily were pleasant, open, concerned, patient and accommodating, and efficient in their treatment of my issue. When I walked out of the office I was confident my tooth was fixed and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. They are very high-tech here, but with a nice touch that makes the experience personal. While I'm here writing this review, I should mention that I usually see Katlyn for cleanings and she, too, is pretty awesome. And one last shout out to Dany who I get to see on the way out... and who is always helpful with billing and insurance. They're an exceptional team, and there are others in the office I haven't had an opportunity to interact with... but all in time I suppose. I look forward to it. I would highly recommend this dentist office - from the moment one walks in one knows they are in the right place with the right people to provide proper dental care in a remarkably clean, relaxed, and positive setting.

Fantastic experience: Above and beyond! They were amazingly flexible with their schedule to get me in last minute for tooth pain, quickly solved that problem and were able to complete some other much needed work in the same visit. Extremely clean facility with kind and caring staff all of whom go out of their way to make you comfortable. The day I needed help was also a severe storm that caused the local pharmacy to close, I assumed I would have to wait another day to fill the script but they were able to move it to another pharmacy after hours to make sure I was comfortable. Fantastic experience: I have severe dental phobia- I haven’t been in an embarrassing long time and then needed a root canal - I was so lucky to find the folks at Casco Bay Smiles- they were amazing- I cannot say enough about how seriously they took my fear and walked me through every step at my pace- they provided oral conscious sedation for the root canal and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and I was able to get my permanent crown installed when the root canal was done- no additional visit needed. I cannot imagine going anywhere else- they are just all fabulous, caring and competent.

Fantastic experience: I have just relocated to Maine and chipped one of my front teeth. Dr McVety came highly recommended by my son and daughter-in-law. In an hour, Dr McVety fixed my chipped tooth and also redid a very old filling (that was causing discoloration that bothered me) on the same tooth. I’ve had numerous dental procedures and Dr McVety’s Novocain administration was the best ever; I barely felt it. And, my tooth looks perfect!

Negative experience: Requested a emailed info sheet for services and then was spammed called 2-3 times a day, every single day, ontop of multiple texts as well. Clearly they are predatory about trying to make sales. Info sheet was also written to discourage bridges and upsell expensive implants. I’ll be going somewhere less obnoxious and less money focused.
