I mean how many people can say they love going to the dentist. I can for sure;) Our review below tells the story of how we got here, but there is so much more. After all these years we know exactly what to do to get a 5 star rating from the dentist. A high five for sure. Every employee puts a smile on my face, such a warm welcome. The secret, wish I had known years ago. Water picking in the shower, flossing after, and brushing twice a day with our electric toothbrush. Takes too much time you say, well those teeth need to last a very very long time, so take care of them. A huge thanks to the team ;) We recently decided to change dentists. Driving all the way across town to our previous dentist was just just not working out, especially in the winter. After looking around and talking to a few people we made a decision to approach Alpenglow. One day after a chiropractor visit, same building, I walked in to Alpenglow and asked to meet the dentist. Well Hallie came out, in her mask, me too btw, introduced herself and gave me a personal tour of the new office. She also introduced all her staff and her husband who happened to be there that day. After answering all my questions, I felt quite comfortable and made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned.

Fantastic experience: Dr Hallie extracted a bad molar about 2 months ago. It was all healed except for this one spot where a little piece of the former tooth still protruded thru my gums. It was painful so I called and asked for a quick appointment. Even tho their schedule was very busy, they worked me in within a few days. I was appreciative. Dr Hallie did a great job of taking away the sharp piece of tooth and filing it down so the gum could heal easily. It was all very professional and everyone was so kind. I'll be back, for sure. Fantastic experience: I was really surprised at how much better and professional Alpenglow Dental compared to all other dentist I have used in my 72 years. My Hygienist did a really great, professional job and made me realized what a cleaning and recording of my whole gums and teeth can do for my future health of my mouth. Dr. Mc Naughton is equally as impressive, they spotted a few of my concerns and made a treatment plan without any pressure. The front office made it super easy and checked coverage with my insurance carrier on the spot!! So no surprises when it comes to treatment costs. Their honesty and overall compassion for dental health is exactly what we’ve been looking for. Negative experience: Trust the negative reviews because this office will most definitely upsell you and try to get you to do deep cleanings and then cause permanent nerve damage and recession. The lady that did my cleaning ruined my mouth to where I’ve been suffering for over a month with insane pain and chronic migraines. They tried to tell me I have neurological problems when I never had pain before going here. Unless you wanna end up in the hospital multiple times go anywhere else! I also agree with the other review stating the billing department is awful, that lady is combative and rude. Over charging for being seen for issues they caused and will over charge you because she can’t do simple math. She tried to say my insurance and my husband’s union accountant were wrong in the amount owed because she thinks she’s the best. The care I’ve received here is absolutely disgusting, they even knew I was disabled, getting back surgery soon but had the nerve to ask me what I do for work and fun when I’m basically bedridden. They just about maxed all my insurance allowed amount and thousands in hospital bills, so now I’m stuck paying out of pocket to get all the damage that they caused fixed.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very attentive and made sure that I was comfortable and warned me ahead of the uncomfortable parts of the teeth cleaning. Alisha is the best dental hygienist I’ve ever had! I’m 58 and had a lot. The doctor I saw today was thorough and friendly. She was willing to do a little research for my problem with my teeth movement. They both helped me to have healthier teeth and gums.

My insurance is accepted but out of network, and even though I have to pay extra I still choose to come here. They're all so nice and supportive, gentle, and accommodating! The TV in the ceiling and noise canceling headphones really help with the anxiety!

Negative experience: I came to this office a while back, and I expressed to the Dentist what my needs were. She completely ignored me, and wanted to upsell me anything that she possibly could. I ended up, simply going through the initial visit, and did not have any other work done. I simply paid the initial visit fee, and had a check up. A few weeks ago, I needed to make an appointment for a cleaning, and wanted to go to an office that I already had an established relationship with, as I didn’t want to pay an “initial visit” fee all over again, so I came back to this office, knowing that I would not be sold anything. (as i would not be seeing the dentist again) When I arrived, I found out that there WOULD be an initial visit fee…all over AGAIN, And that the total charge for today would’ve been $409. I actually left the office without keeping my appointment. Very bad experience, and low integrity all the way around. I do have to say, though that the girl at the front desk was very very nice.

We raised a large family and have been to many dentists over the years, but this is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most professional office we’ve experienced. Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about this dental office. Dr. Hallie is one of the best dentists I have gone to. Starting with the front desk employees. I haven't had that much care and concern from administrative staff anywhere else. They know what they are talking about and never make you feel like you are wasting their time. You can tell they feel comfortable asking Dr. Hallie questions as well, which is a good sign of a boss (right?). I also like her style. She is on the conservative side and she is brutally honest. She doesn't sell you on anything or tell you that you need work done if you don't. The work she does do is efficient and very well done. I have never felt rushed around her. I can ask as many questions as needed and she sits through them all. If you ever have a mtb accident or ski accident on the weekend, you might be lucky enough to have her on call on the weekends. I have found my forever dentist.

Even the environment at the office is geared toward having the patient be as comfortable as possible. Fantastic experience: I chose Alpenglow Dental because they specialize in Geriatric Dentistry. My Mother is 89 and in late stage dementia. She needed a teeth cleaning and three cavities addressed. The Dentist was able to work on her in her wheelchair as she cannot be moved without a hoyer lift. She got her teeth cleaned and they were able to treat her cavities with a non-invasive method that required no shots or drilling. We were totally stressing about this appointment and it went better than we could have ever imagined. I highly revommend them.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience with Alpenglow Dental. The staff was lovely and professional, my hygienist was through and very pleasant. The office and exam rooms are spotless, the view is very nice, and the exam rooms are very sunny and bright. The TV on the ceiling with closed caption is such a fabulous distraction! Dr. Hallie has such a lovely demeanor and very professional. If you have to go to the dentist (which we all do...) this is the place to go.

Fantastic experience: What an experience!! I don’t think I’ve ever been to a dentist like this. Very respectful and kind. Each station was private so you’re not seeing any other patience or treatments going on. While you’re waiting you are blessed with a giant window view and then when they’re cleaning your teeth they have a tv on the ceiling!!! There’s even optional headphones to hear. For someone who has anxiety for the dentist this was a great distraction. The hygienist even talked to me step by step of what she’s looking for and how to improve my dental hygiene. I have never been talked like that before. It was really nice to know what they are seeing and looking for. It felt very inclusive and genuinely caring for my health. Thanks Kayla!!! At the end I got a goody bag to take home! Who doesn’t love a goody bag!! I also really appreciated the doctor being so nice and really straight forward on things. No sugar coding and kept it real and simple. But also aware of my feelings and my fear of the dentist. Love that! Overall I am very impressed and excited to come back. Thank you all!!

Negative experience: Weeks ago I had my 2nd and LAST dental appointment at AlpenGlow Dental in Bend. Here is why I call it LAST: I chose AlpenGlow when I was having trouble with Advantage Dental in La Pine. They had staffing issues. Covid was to blame and having a dentist from Portland who had to drive during snow season didn’t help. Reading the good reviews of AlpenGlow, I went for my new patient appointment to get my teeth cleaned there on May 25, 2023. Due to a series of medical emergencies I had to cancel the next cleaning appointments but I went to them on November 14, 2024 and left feeling sad. After seeing what was the X-ray technician, then dentist who did gum check (I thought she was the hygienist because I never had a dentist do this), then I briefly saw THE hygienist as she peaked in the room to say she didn't have time to do my scheduled cleaning as I "needed deep cleaning that would require two appointments". I heard horrible gum numbers I have never heard in my life. I later showed my daughter the estimate and she said it was the 2nd high estimate she heard from them recently. I'm in my 70s and I have had some long-term dentists. I miss the one who retired as he took care of me and my four kids for over 27 years. I know the routine. Most dental appointments have been good for me, but I didn't feel good about the last appointment with AlpenGlow. I felt hustled and I don't even remember their names, if they gave them to me. No small talk. I also wasn’t even shown my X-rays which I later realized no dentist has ever done that to me. I was told the X-rays were in the other room I didn't get to go into. Other dentists would have shown them and explained my options. Not sad now. My teeth were cleaned in one appointment by another dentist, and I felt the way I have about the good professional dentists/hygienists in my life and I'm going to return there. Saw my X-rays, no rush. Merry Christmas to me--I saved over $900! So glad I got a 2nd opinion. I got a normal cleaning with the addition of a deep clean of two teeth, not four sections. I only had a topical to help with pain on those two teeth. This is the first time in my life to be told I needed a deep cleaning. I realized that it had been almost one year and six months since they were last professionally cleaned. But somehow I needed a deep cleaning of two teeth. A few teeth below needed a little extra attention but nothing like those two teeth. I have never felt the need for a second opinion but I'm glad I got one. The office of AlpenGlow has a beautiful vista, but I am not willing to help pay for it.

Negative experience: Editing this review as after having my family as clients for one year, they decided they would no longer accept military insurance. I know that our insurance pays less than some others, but I find it unfortunate to have to find a new doctor after only being patients for such a short time. Military families serve in this community, and it's unfortunate to be let go as patients due to insurance reasons. It's always a wonderful experience here. My hygienist Jennifer is so gentle but also thorough and efficient. I appreciate that they accept military insurance as so many places in town will not. Thank you for caring for our military service members and their families! You guys rock!

Fantastic experience: I have had low expectations finding a good dental office in Bend and was SO pleasantly surprised by Alpenglow! Jenna was my hygienist and seriously a gem! Professional, courtesy, knowledgeable, personable, and kind. Dr. Hallie was great as well. Thankful to have found this team.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hallie is by far the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Her expertise and passion for dentistry perfectly match her kind, funny, and gentle nature. She’s replaced a crown for me and has done incredible cosmetic work, all procedures have been smooth and as pleasant as possible. Thanks to her and her amazing team of hygienists and front desk staff, I genuinely look forward to dental visits now!

Fantastic experience: Amazing practice with great staff, equipment, and expertise. Hallie and team are the kindest, gentlest, and most professional people I've met in this industry, and it actually makes going to the dentist... well, nice! I've been coming for a few years, both under third-party insurance and through their membership plan, and they've taken care me through both the routine checkups & cleanings and guided me through a problematic root canal.
