Fantastic experience: Today I need to write yet another positive review of Cascadia Family Dentistry. I am a "scaredy cat" big time... when it comes to dentist. So when I found out I would need a filling it put me in a panic... However I just got home and again... the care was outstanding. Shayla, was so kind, and knew how nervous I was. She continually explained everything she was going to do, and kept encouraging me with "good job".. Dr. Adams... gentle, gentle, gentle... soft spoken and skilled. I NEVER felt any pain in either the shots or procedure. I still can't believe how well it went. This is a place to go if you want the best oral care!! Thank you all.

Negative experience: I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Cascadia Dental to help others avoid the same. I'm over 50, with healthy teeth, and have always had positive experiences with dentists—until now. From the start, things felt off. Unlike every other dentist I've visited, my first appointment was split into two separate visits: an evaluation and a cleaning. I now suspect this might have been a tactic to increase billing. Though I had no cavities, I was offered an optional fluoride treatment—billed per tooth—for future prevention. On top of that, I was told that a standard cleaning wouldn’t suffice, and I’d need a more expensive, in-depth cleaning. I declined the fluoride and opted for the standard cleaning my insurance covered. Surprisingly, the earliest appointment they had was three months later, which left me wondering if I could have been seen sooner had I agreed to the additional charges. Three months later, I returned for my cleaning, only to find I was scheduled for the more expensive treatment. By this point, I needed the cleaning, so I let it go. The hygienist was thorough and friendly, which was the highlight of my visit. However, it turns out that my insurance only partially covered the cleaning - no surprise at this point. There also seems to be a culture of arrogance at this practice. I picked up on it when I was there, and it is also shown in these reviews. Note that in a response to D Porter (8 months ago) the owner actually replied “Our only way of reciprocating a one-star-review to an individual is by means of patient dismissal and/or referral to another provider…” Instead of engaging with a patient’s review, they ‘dismissed’ him. That word choice says it all. If you’re reading this review, please take some time to read the other recent negative reviews, and perhaps as importantly, the responses from management. It seems like this practice has gone downhill lately as the reviews from a couple of years ago are glowing. Good organizations use feedback to improve and better serve their customers - not as a reason to dismiss them.

Negative experience: For years I went to Dr Steve Timm and loved him. I recently moved back to Central Oregon and decided to try Dr Adams who took over the practice. Definitely not the same experience I found him to be very arrogant and uncaring. Went to another dentist and was told that what I was encouraged to do by Dr Adams was excessive and not needed. Feels like this place is more about profit than patient care. Very disappointing

Negative experience: I came in today for a new patient appointment. I made it a thing to be early (which I was), I had my toddler aged son with me which did great until... going back to our treatment room. I'm not sure why I was given condescension right off the bat when Dr. Adams nurse Emma started talking with me. It was very noticeable and just odd. Dr. Adams was very nice when he finally came to my room (35-40 past my scheduled appointment at 3), and we got to talk, but... I had to wait so long that's ridiculous! I wish he could have extended me the curiosity of simply popping in my room to tell me sorry he's finishing up and sorry that I've been waiting a while with my son. A very nice hygienist came to our room, because I'm sure everyone could hear my son was getting restless, to give him something to play with, and said Dr. Adams shouldn't be much longer. His nurse even got my son something to play with, which was a nice surprise given how she was towards me when i went back with her, and told me he shouldn't be longer. She actually looked annoyed that I've been waiting for my appointment to start and he was still with someone else. There was a lot going on as soon as i got there to when I left and I can say i won't be back. Very unfortunate because it's a lovely office and has a very welcoming setting.

Negative experience: Very disappointed by the overall service here. I think I’ve had a new hygienist every time I’ve gone in and my most recent visit I had a hygienist who was disorganized, dropped tools on the ground (which I had to ask her to wash), and was aggressive in her cleaning (even though I have a pretty spot-free mouth — I was sore for hours after!). I could have looked past this, especially considering she was new to the clinic, but had a few other instances of just poor customer service, the primary one being charged a late fee for an appointment I did not schedule at the time they claimed I did. When I shared there must be a misunderstanding and asked to waive the fee as I did not schedule the appointment at that time, they said: “Well most places would charge you the full fee for service… so you could be looking at $300.” I did not feel validated at all in my concerns and honestly felt threatened by staff for being late for an appointment I didn’t schedule to begin with! So frustrating. The only reason I did not give them one star is because I do actually really like Dr. J. He is a skilled and thorough dentist… I only wish his staff were of the same quality. I would caution other patients to review your appointments and receipts thoroughly as there seems to be some disorganization in the “front of the house”. We will be transferring dentists and can only hope the transition will be smooth.

Negative experience: Used to be a great dentist office but sadly something has changed. I have gone to this dentist office for almost forty years. First when it was Dr Timm and then when Dr Adams took over. I loved the work that Dr. Adams did. But the last year when I have gone in there has been a lot of confusion. They used to give you a form that told you what work needed to be done and how much it would be. Now I don't get that anymore. Instead they tell you and then when you get there it's a whole different story. Sadly it feels like it has become all about the money and no longer about compassonate patient care. When I questioned this I was severely reprimanded by Dr Adams and he even suggested that I was developing a lot of confusion. (i.e.dementia)! Apparently questions are no longer allowed. I am a widow on a fixed income and just need to have clarity about what to expect. Very sad. If you do decide to go there, just make sure you get everything in writing ahead of time. Something they used to do. I will say that their new hygienist is very sweet.

He checked my xrays, did an exam and told me what my mouth needed. he and his assistant were able to use my other dentists xrays which was good to not have that cost again. Dr Adams did an awesome job on a filling removal and crack repair. This was done preventitive so hoping not needing a more expensive crown down the road. They worked with me to get me in because i was leaving town. I was nervous at my appointment and they made me comfortable right away and did such a superb job, seriously no pain!! Dentistry has come a long way. Had the new hygentist Ashley and had my first totally pain free cleaning in my life. I have very sensitive teeth. Want to say again how wonderful the receptionists are working with you and always a lovely greeting . Oh, they also have some dental plans you can sign up for that make it much cheaper. Just do it! Give them a call today!!! You and your mouth will benefit.

Fantastic experience: i have had two very fine dentists over the last 40 years. Dr. Adams is the most impressive of the excellent dentist I’ve been treated by. He was the most thorough in the initial meeting I’ve experienced. His caring attitude in evaluating my dental needs and establishing priorities has been greatly appreciated. Even the dreaded mouth numbing shots were administered with utmost care. I won’t say I didn’t feel the poke but the discomfort was minimal. I would have no reservation in recommending Cascadia to anyone, particularly to anyone that has had a difficult dental experience in the past.

Fantastic experience: An excellent dentist and team! I came in a few years ago after not having had dental care in over a decade. I had very sensative teeth, jaw pain, and multiple cavities. I am scared of getting fillings, and of dentistry in general, but Dr. Adam's and his team were so professional, kind, and caring. I had fillings, botox injections for my TMJ pain, and followed theie advice about daily care and specialty products. Now my teeth are in excellent shape! My gums are less sensative. I have no cavities or problem teeth, and my jaw stopped hurting! I absolutely recommend Cascade to everyone. 10 outta 5.

Positive experience: By far the most comprehensive exam I've ever had! Nice people and very easy to get an appointment. My only concern is with the number of issues the dentist found, since my previous dentist didn't. Prices seem fair.

Negative experience: I was not a big fan of the fluoride treatment. My clean and then you apply this horrible sticky stuff. I could barely get it off when i brushed my teeth.
