Fantastic experience: I have avoided trying to get implants for years but my situation has changed. I recently had 4 implants done and still in the recovery phase. While this is a daunting process, I was happy with the procedure and Dr Iero and his team made it as comfortable as possible. I also really appreciated the quick follows I have had over the phone, these helped to alleviate allot of concerns without having to come back to the surgery. I recommend this surgery.

Fantastic experience: What dental surgeon gets almost all 5s from his patients? I can see why Dr. Iero does. Great bedside manner coupled with superb surgical skills. He did various surgical/dental procedures on me with close to zero pain afterwards. Office runs very efficiently with clear communication. Not super cheap but the pricing is non-exploitative. I don't want to need more of this doctor's services, but if I do, I am returning to Dr. Iero. Outstanding.

Fantastic experience: Dr lero performed a bone craft and an implant on the lower left premolar (#20) and an extraction and bone graft on the lower right molar (#30). His explanation of the procedures was thorough and responsive. Local anesthesia was painless. However, i experienced pain and discomfort in the socket of the implant several days after the surgery. Examination confirmed that there was a divot with a hole on the interior side of the implant socket which took several weeks to heal before the pain subsided. Although initially pain free, the socket of tooth 30 became increasingly irritated as stitches came loose 6 weeks after the surgery. In retrospect, I would have been better advised to delay treatment of the left side and thereby maintain its chewing surface until completion of all treatment on the right side. Live and learn. I didn’t mean to disparage the quality of work performed by Dr lero. The implant he placed in the premolar in a very tight space was top quality as was the bone graft he placed in the molar. Additionally, he and his staff were accommodating and responsive.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Iero is the best. He takes the time to explain everything that will be going on with what you are there for. He and his staff have a great bedside manner. He really cares. To get a personal follow up call later in the evening at home to check on how I was doing is unheard of these days. Office is upbeat and he will play your favorite music while sitting in the chair. Fantastic experience: Dr. Iero performed a tooth extraction pain preparation for implant. The tooth in question had recently been treated for infection so was advised to delay implant until new bone was able to form. A conservative analysis but grateful for the recommendation by the doc. This is the third procedure performed by Dr. Iero, all under local anesthesia. As usual, zero pain or swelling by the next morning. I did one dose of Advil before bedtime but that is all. This guy is a pro. Staff is great with a sense of humor. Highly recommend his team and services.

Negative experience: I went in for a consultation the day BEFORE my coronectomy to be told that they will not cut my wisdom tooth. I waited 3 weeks for a call back for the to agree to do it and i went the day before and was told otherwise. My tooth is too close to the nerve and i do not want to remove it , i just want to cut it and the doctor denied to do it. All they care is about any lawsuits and the money.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr. Iero by my Dentist following a difficult extraction by another Oral Surgeon who did not feel comfortable proceeding with an implant due to bone loss during the extraction. I was in for a bridge. As a healthcare type, I was struck by Dr. Iero's training as a Medical Doctor and Dentist, which seemed rare to me. It was easy enough to get an appointment, and the team was impressive. The technology in the office was nothing like I had ever seen and gave me a great deal of comfort. Dr. Iero has an incredible chair-side manner and took the time to reassure me of what needed to be done and why in terms of a bone graph and implant. Long story short, I have a new implant. Every step was handled expertly. Fast forward a month later, my nephew visited Houston for a unique surgery involving harvesting inner cheek skin to rebuild skin for another part of his body. Following the procedure, which left him in a great deal of pain, his oral cavity did not look right. We phoned Dr. Iero's office, who agreed to see him immediately. Because Dr. Iero is a Medical Doctor and Dentist, he created a step-by-step procedure to guide my nephew through his early weeks of recovery and offered to see him before his return home out of state. The recovery and Dr. Iero's guidance were a godsend, and the team was very supportive. Fantastic experience: I had an AMAZING experience with Dr. lero. I came to him to help me with a botched tooth removal years ago by a dentist. Dr. lero removed the broken piece that was left behind and the procedure was incredible. I not only had no pain during the procedure but it took less than 10 minutes and I healed by the next day with no pain or swelling. The care during and the aftercare is amazing as well. Fantastic experience: I really needed my wisdom teeth out since the were already fully out but i didn't have to pain and even though they were not hurting i wasn't thinking of pulling them out because no pain was present thanks for having a good health they came out straight but there was that part of me that even though they weren't hurting i still wanted to take them out as soon and even my dentist have seen my wisdom teeth already out he said if they aren't hurting just keep them but there was they part of me that was like no i need to take them off as soon as possible and i know they aren't hurting since i did have braces for 2 years and a half and i didn't want the wisdom teeth to push my teeth and messed up my teeth again and Plus they say that you can't fully brush your back wisdom teeth because the brush doesn't reach well back there so I've i got a cavity it we'll be much worse for me so i didn't want none of that. So i was so worried where i can find a really good doctor for my wisdom, so my sister and my brother in law had a appointment too with doctor Phillip T. Iero for one wisdom teeth removal and big shout-out to my sister she came through and told me about Iero and i went to check him out and the team and himself welcome me so nice they are the best they walked me through the whole thing and the week after that i took all my 4 wisdom teeth out and the pain and all that scary stuff wasn't even that much no pain at all and the after math was even nothing best place ever really really happy with my experience they are the best wisdom teeth didn't even take a hour to be removed it was in and out real smooth. Fantastic experience: Teenage son had his wisdom teeth removed and everything from initial appointment to post-op follow up could not have gone smoother.

Negative experience: Honestly really disappointed with the way the doctor and staff at this office handled my request for an appointment. My general dentist has assessed me and stated that he is not comfortable with providing me treatment as it is out of his scope. He recommended that I see an oral surgeon for my case as it is under their specialty. I clearly see that Dr. Iero's website states that he is an ORAL SURGEON who takes on ORAL PATHOLOGY cases. The least this office could do for me is get me in for a consultation to help me get one step closer to proper treatment. That is what you seek a health professional for, right? Instead, I was presented with resistance and told that Dr. Iero said for me to go to the UTSD clinic. UT School of Dentistry's clinic where they generally have, NOT experienced or specialized doctors, but student doctors working on patients. I repeated to the front desk to confirm that Dr. Iero thinks I should let a student doctor attempt this instead of him and she said very insensitively "That's what he told me." Ridiculously baffling to me and the other dental providers I have spoken with regarding this issue. I don't understand why I was denied an appointment when this is his specialty. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this is something that he is not well versed in. But to refer me to student doctors? The least you could do as an office or any kind of healthcare worker is to be competent with the stakes. The risks are high for my case as it is close to the lingual nerve. Not only do you not want to take on my case, but you believe a student doctor should attempt this. He could've just referred me over to another oral surgeon or even told me that I should seek another provider. Overall, I am unhappy with the interactions I had with this office and the kind of care I got from them over the phone. Definitely not something that I expected from a place with decent reviews. UPDATE: I saw an oral surgeon who told me its just my body shedding bone fragments after wisdom tooth removal which is normal. It usually happens shortly after extractions but in this case, it happened many years later. Pretty sure this is under the scope of any oral surgeon.
