Fantastic experience: Excellent dental office. We have been there for over 15 years, and Dr. Loftus is outstanding. Great hygienists as well, they show great care and concern.

Negative experience: While I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Loftus and his hygienists, I found his front desk receptionist/office manager, Donna, to be very rude and condescending at various times. I paid a bill of several hundred dollars that she misapplied to another patient, and then I was sent a statement for payment. I called and stated that I had paid, but Donna did not believe me. I had to give a copy of my credit card statement which showed, in fact, I did pay. She offered no apologies, but I was made it feel it was somehow my fault. I also had scheduled to have a crown done in two appointments on the same day. I came back to the second afternoon appointment, but was told their machine broke down. No one from the front office called to tell me that I did not have an appointment. I attempted to schedule two successive appointments for the crown, but I was sick and had to cancel one time , and my dog ran away so I could not make the next one. Donna was extremely rude when I attempted to book the appointment, and said I "could not book ahead" as I had canceled before. I finally was able to get an appointment to get the crown completed. Another billing issue occured when my daughter had an exam, cleaning, and x-rays, and I received a statement from the office that I owed for services. I contacted my insurance company and was told that I did not owe any additional monies. When I called to tell Donna this, she stated it was the insurance's fault and not her own. When I was attempting to explain what the insurance company told me about what was submitted and why it needed to be corrected by the dental office, she kept interrupting me and wouldn't allow me to speak. I finally had to ask if I could please talk, and she answered that she would "just shut-up." I found this extremely rude and unprofessional. Within an hour of this phone call, I was emailed a form telling me that she was removing myself and family as patients. Again, no reflection on the dentist and his staff, but rather the office manager.

Fantastic experience: The Receptionist that greets everyone was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable about my insurance. My hygenist was extremely informative as to what she was going to do and explained everything to me. Dr. Loftus was informative and advised me on what I can do to keep my teeth until I reach 100. I would suggest this practice to anyone looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Recently I was diagnosed with mild Sleep Apnea. I decided to do an oral appliance instead of the CPAP machine, as I am a light sleeper. The process went very smoothly. Nicole scanned my teeth and two weeks later I had an appointment for a fitting. Dr. Loftus took time to fit it and make sure I was comfortable with it. He also advised me of tension options and care instructions. I have been sleeping with it and it is working well! I always appreciate how professional Dr. Loftus and his staff are! I would highly recommend Pelican Family Dentist!

Fantastic experience: Initial impression terrific. My first visit and this is a significant upgrade from the prior dental practice I had used in Naples. My hygienist (Alexis) is extremely friendly, competent, and efficient. Ditto for Dr. Loftus. Honest assessments from both, with no attempt to pressure further unnecessary work (which I had experienced in past with other practices)...And office is spic and span clean!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend this office enough for all of your dental needs! Dr Lacey Gilbert was highly recommended in a group chat of other dentists for her cosmetic dental work. I had cosmetic/bonding work done to eight of my teeth and I am so happy with the aesthetic result! She gave me many opportunities of feedback through the whole process to ensure I was satisfied. The customer service at her office feels like you are at a 5 star hotel though the whole process and even the follow up. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Took my 20 year old daughter for a cleaning and dr wanted to sell us a Floride treatment and X-rays I said just a cleaning. After the visit I was speaking with the dentist and he was mad there were no new X-rays so he told me he needed to refer me to a oral surgeon since my daughter was complaining of pain and it must be her wisdom teeth. I told him she had her wisdom teeth out at nine years old. He said I must be mistaken. I continued to insist she did have them ALL removed so he uploaded previous X-rays which confirmed she had NO wisdom teeth. When I saw my daughter after the visit she told me she never told him she had any pain. This man is just after charges for unneeded X-rays and Floride treatments. Money hungry instead of looking at the previous X-rays before shaming me as a mom like I am not taking care of my daughter because I did not give him money for X-rays. I will never go back!!!
