Negative experience: Update- Now under new ownership to Elite Dental. New rating 1/5. Terrible management. Dentists always changing. I loved the prior dentists LSP. Switched dental offices to somewhere else. Had to come back to have my son's sealants touched up which is a free charge on teeth already sealed there. The practice didn't even think to get records from my new dental practice so when we arrived we were told we would be charged for xrays and an exam even though my son just had a routine cleaning & exam done 1.5weeks ago. Said I needed a referral which is fine but I'm wondering why they didn't realize this or think of obtaining this prior to my son's appointment. In the end we had to leave to wait til they receive the referral or pay out of pocket for a new exam and x-rays! My other kids have had sealants done elsewhere and never have I previously had something like this happen. Terrible mismanagement from front desk staff. I can't see this place staying in business much longer- it just seems to be getting worse and worse. 5 years ago review 5/5. Always a great experience. All of the Dentists are fantastic! They are all very thorough and give the best of care. My husband and I see all the Dentists and my kids have had teeth extracted by Dr. Piacsek. Dr. Piacsek is really gentle with the kids every experience has been great.

Negative experience: If you’re looking for punctuality this is not the place. I’ve continued to make appointments hoping the next time it will be better and that has yet to be the case. A courtesy call saying they’re behind would’ve been appreciated . After watching multiple other people get called back who arrived after us we will be going else where.

Negative experience: Doctors should be doing introductions if they have never seen the patient before, builds rapport before giving treatment recommendations. Was given ~$7k treatment plan and was not explained why those treatments needed to be done. Hygienist tried her best to explain but ultimately that’s the doctors job. Will not be coming back for further service

I really didn’t care and understand services are not free - just wanted help. Thank you but I’ll find another dentist who cares. Btw I even told the receptionist I would pay in cash - she then told me they could possibly see me the next day after all of this! Thanks but no thanks.

Negative experience: I scheduled a routine cleaning for Friday and received a call the day before saying my appointment was canceled because the dentist would be attending a conference. While I understand conflicts happen, the short notice was inconvenient. I rescheduled for Monday, but when I arrived there was an issue verifying my dental insurance because my individual ID wasn’t showing in their system. Instead of working with me on a solution, I was told my only options were to either pay the full amount upfront or cancel the appointment altogether. What was especially frustrating is that they required extensive personal information (employer details, home address, Social Security number, etc.), yet still treated the situation as strictly “cash on demand.” The policies felt inconsistent and unnecessarily rigid. On top of that, the front desk staff were not very friendly or accommodating, which made the experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, this combination of poor communication, inflexibility, and customer service has led me to take my business elsewhere to a practice that is more understanding and patient-focused. Update ; my insurance had my card info back to me 1, hr and 15 minutes after my appointment start. I have never had this issue with another provider - if you can't run your business without cash on demand ; don't take your customers personal credit information.

Fantastic experience: I needed to get into see Dr. Buchanan at elite dental so I called in the morning. Amber and Arianna contacted me right away which was so GREAT! I was in the office within 30 minutes of me calling. Wilma the dental assistant was very kind and efficient! Dr. Buchanan was great too!! Thank you!!

Negative experience: Hygienist was nice and did a good job. But they wanted/offered things that I have never ever been offered before (like fluoride -not since I was a kid). Just seemed like maybe they get bonuses or trying to make more $. Have been less than thrilled since it was no.longer LSP. I went there for a certain dentist. Not sure now. I never even got a letter saying it was a diff Co and dentist. Might look into another sometime.

Positive experience: At the front desk for check in no one asked me about insurance. Then at checkout she confirmed that I didn’t have insurance. That wasn’t the worst since I felt that I was harassed with text messages and then my insurance information was written on a post it. Wouldn’t technology be more useful for billing than daily text reminders?!?

Negative experience: Wow... where to begin with this place? I had my first and only crown put in by this place back on 1/2024. At that time, I was given a price for the out-of-pocket cost to get the work done. $492, with this company planning on charging $2,051 total for the job since I had insurance. Now, out of nowhere, a year and a half later, on 10/23/25, I received a random email. I am now getting slammed with an additional $934 charge because, apparently, my insurance did not cover the entire crown, since Elite did not have enough evidence that it was necessary. I am the first person to understand that sometimes insurance companies make our lives difficult. But why am I here to rate this particular company experience the way I had? It was because of the interaction I just had with the billing department. I go into every call understanding that the people on the other end do not have the easiest job. All I was really looking for was some understanding on their end that I am getting dropped a $934 bill out of nowhere, with the threat of collections now hanging over my head. What I got instead was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, you can look at my previous reviews to see I a usually a pretty happy guy, but apparently the fact I was asking some questions about the bill and trying to work through my options other than paying the $934 immediately while trying to avoid the risk of going to collections sent this women in a mild rage. While I was trying to get a clear idea of the different solutions, she kept repeating that I did not understand and that I owed $934. When I was asked to talk to anyone else because I could tell the situation was escalating, I was told no. I was also told that I could be sent to collections at any time because the service was so long ago. Again, I did not actually get a bill until 3 days ago, and there was zero pity or understanding for this situation and I have called my insurance and they are saying this now falls outside of their window for an appeal. I don't know if it's just where the world is going in general. Still, it's safe to say that my family and anyone I know will never use their services again, which is unfortunate, because the local staff are friendly. Just disgusted and defeated at this point with my treatment. And please be aware yourself if you are looking for a new place, that you may be charge for services years after you get them with no ability to defend against it, or face collections! UPDATE: After Elite's response here I tried to reach out and I received no response in return. Not surprising.

Fantastic experience: Broke a tooth and needed care. After a quick exam they got me in the same day to get it taken care of. Dr Buchanan and Megan were very attentive and caring. They fixed me up quickly so I can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my family. Thank you Elite Dental!

Fantastic experience: Dr Buchanan and his team are highly skilled and cheerful. Dr B has a great deal of personal warmth and humor and is particularly focused on the comfort and whole health of his patients. It’s rare that I leave a dental appointment laughing or smiling but I did with Elite. Shoutout to his dental hygenist Avery . I have been seeing her for years and she is the best in the profession.

Negative experience: I used to really like this place, but things changed after the new ownership took over. Unfortunately, both my wife and I had to have dental work redone due to poor quality. I was initially willing to move on without saying anything, but then they sent us to collections over the charges for that subpar work. Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience.

Fantastic experience: Met Avery today and she did a fantastic job, very thorough but gentle. Ditto Dr. Buchanan. I'm a patient of Dr. Leaman but feeling confident that I will receive the same quality care when he isn't available.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with my dental appointment at Elite Dental. Kristi, my hygienist, was very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. She offered valuable advice for my cleaning routine and was able to direct the dentist to areas of concern. Dr. Buchanan was great. He listened to my concerns without rushing and offered solutions. He was funny and very personable. Scheduling my next appointment was quick and easy. I was very impressed with this office.

Negative experience: I had an appointment with Elite dental today and because of an outstanding balance I couldn’t be seen. Instead of giving me a phone call and letting me know before I drove all the way there the woman called me in and was extremely rude to me, she told me I couldn’t be seen and the appointments for my children would also be cancelled, her tone with me was completely uncalled for. I tried to tell her that I would be able to make the payment on the 15th of this month. Because my children’s appointment’s were after the 15th I asked that she please keep my children’s appointments scheduled, but she rudely told me no I am going to cancel those appointments as well. Then she proceeded to tell me that the appointments should never of been made because of the over due balance, as if that was my fault. Clearly somebody else wasn’t doing their job in that office. Needless to say, I will be finding a new dentist and they’ll never see the money that I owe them! dental work is expensive enough, Why deal with rude staff as well? I would stay away find another dentist.

Negative experience: This place is falling a part. Since it became Elite dental things started turning for the worse. Re-scheduling our appointments multiple times and telling us within an hour of an appointment that it is illegal to have the appointment because there is no dentist there to check them. Poor management. Please beware.

Negative experience: After multiple cancelled appointments due to not having a hygienist, my family is looking for a different dental practice. Not only can they not keep scheduled appointments from 6 months to a year ago, they also cannot keep rescheduled appointments. We are constantly trying to call them, being redirected to their online scheduling and then recieve a text message anywhere from a week to a day before our appointments telling us they do not have a hygenist and are again canceling. I would not recommend if you like to keep up with your regular dental check ups.

Fantastic experience: My last visit was absolutely THE best dental visit I've ever had! I'm a sort of old lady now - and didn't think this new guy could hit the high mark set in previous decades. But I'm totally impressed. THE BEST from the minute I walked in until I left with my little bag. I've been with By clinic since the very beginning and have always had dental pros who I trusted, recommended, and who put my, then, small kids at ease. Whoever says that about their dentist? This is the dental clinic you want.

Negative experience: *** Follow up to my review below - we forgot to cancel my daughters appointment for the end of this month, which was scheduled a year in advance. Funny thing, just before my wife was about to call and cancel, they sent notification that they had to reschedule that appointment. Seriously! An appointment scheduled a year in advance they couldn't keep. Absolute joke show over there!*** It takes a lot to get me to write a bad review. Elite is a joke. My wife started to go there, had nothing but issues with their scheduling. She would get scheduled when no dentist was even available. Even today, a couple days before her appointment, they go and change the time without calling further in advance. It was scheduled for a long time. I, myself, tried to get in. Setup a new patient appointment per everything online, even made the notes. None of that went through. They called me a day or two before the appointment to ask what was going to be looked at. When I told them I was a new patient, they then said, "Well that is not how it was scheduled so we don't have time for that. You will need to reschedule." Umm, I am sorry, I set this appointment up a month prior and you wait until a day before. Then you take no responsibility to own your mistake and make the appointment happen. So my experience, along with my wife's, should be a major warning sign to anyone looking to go here.

Fantastic experience: I have been to Elite Dental in Oconomowoc since the name change from LSP Dental to Elite. Dr. Mugglie, and staff are very professional, and friendly. I find my visits there are relaxed and informative. I've had no insurance problems with this office. Side note, I have been with Dr. Leaman's practice, LSP and now Elite since 1985, seeing improvements and advancement in dental practices through the years. I recommend this dental practice.

Negative experience: Four fillings fell out after being repaired here during a single appointment. One of the three appointments for repairs, they charged my insurance again. After questioning they eventually reversed the insurance charge for the repair. I inquired about refunding the $450 out of pocket expense and was told they would get back to me since it comes from higher up. I called again inquiring weeks later and was told the same thing. Months later, I have not received any communication except to remind me another family member is due for a cleaning. It has been a frustrating experience.

Negative experience: Funny how so many 5 star ratings refer to LSP from 2,5,8,10 years ago - I AGREE LSP WAS GREAT. Elite not so much, broke a tooth off Nov 10 got an appointment Dec 20. Had to have an implant was sent to an ortho office (their work was ok). Got appt apr 12 for elite part of implant, call from elite for appt Apr 10 didn't know about the 12th. I had a conflict for the 10th so now it was May 1 and there would be a $1700 charge for the new tooth. On May 1 the bill was now to be $3000 part of it was to do what ortho had already completed which had to explain even though they had a letter from ortho. Then was asked when ortho completed the work - READ THE DATE ON THE LETTER!!! In the procedure room dentist asked how where things - WRONG QUESTION!!! After all of it he didn't feel comfortable doing the procedure due to my attitude, I agreed even though I signed the paper authorizing them to proceed I didn't trust them to complete it due to their attitude. LOOKING FOR A NEW DENTIST FOR THE FAMILY

Negative experience: Beware. A little background I have been going to clinic before it was elite dental and it was LSP since I believe 2018 or 2019. My teeth and gums always in good condition according to the three doctors who owned LSP at the time. (These dentists were great.) Which brings me to last year, in the spring of 2023 they mentioned all of a sudden I had gingivitis and if I did not do certain things leading up to my 6 month appt in the fall they would need to do a deep cleaning. At this time they provided me how much it would cost if they had to do it. At the fall appt, they did not ask me or tell me they were doing a deep cleaning, which by the way a deep cleaning would last longer than routine cleaning which this appt did not , without my consent or signing anything they charged me for a deep cleaning. Also worth noting, the hygienist I had sales pitched me a water pik then tells me she’s brand ambassador and here’s a discount code. Clearly just pushing her brand to get kickbacks. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE.

Fantastic experience: I have always had a good experience here! The front desk is super friendly and the hygienists and dentists are super knowledgeable and are able to answer any questions that I have.

But, because insurance claims were illegally submitted by an un-accredited dentist who was working here, patients are getting invoices directly for these denied claims. I encourage everyone affected by this issue to contact local media, social media, and file state grievances until LSP/Elite Dental takes responsibility for their negligence and drops all of these unfair charges.

Negative experience: Fraudulent billing. Was charged $100 for a cleaning bc an unaccredited dentist that they hired and quickly fired looked at my teeth for five minutes. Absolutely do not trust this place!

Positive experience: They appear to be overbooked or understaffed. It took two hours to complete a 1hr 20 min procedure as the Dr repeatedly left to treat other patients. I know this can happen, but my wife had the same experience one month earlier. Speed it up, already! Also, every time I go it’s a new dentist. I started with Dr. Leaman 3 years ago and haven’t seen him since.

Negative experience: My usual hygienist knows what she’s doing and proceeds with the utmost skill and professionalism. I would rate her abilities at 5+ stars. However, the assisting hygienist was unable to take X-rays or do even the simplest of tasks without inflicting undue discomfort. With the recent retirement of most of the doctors at LS&P, it would seem that this practice is having difficulty finding and keeping the qualified staff that it once employed.

Positive experience: If you pay to have a text service to notify customers of anything you should have a way in how those texts are delivered for example getting the same text message thanks for your recent visit stated nothing about me having a balance due it just said thanks for ur visit I was like I didn't even visit !!! A little more clarity on what you are asking for would make more sense.

Negative experience: I was surprised to hear that both Drs. Leaman and Setnicar had retired. I did not receive any notifications on this prior to my appointment. I did not know anything about Dr. Starks before my visit i.e her background or qualifications.
