Fantastic experience: Dr. Palmer is awesome! So grateful he moved back to Utah. We are lucky to have him. Bountiful Dental Care is a phenomenal place. Friendly, professional and efficient. Truly appreciate their care.

Negative experience: I went in for what should have been a routine set of fillings and left genuinely unsettled—not because of the procedure itself, but because of the complete lack of care, communication, and professionalism. The dentist, Dr Palmer, offered a quick, perfunctory greeting before immediately reclining the chair, roughly handling my face, and injecting the numbing agent without any explanation of what he was doing or what to expect. There was no effort to prepare me or even basic courtesy in communicating the steps of the procedure. Shortly after the injection, I experienced a severe reaction—my heart was racing, and my arms were shaking uncontrollably. It was alarming, especially since I had not been warned this was even a possibility. When I told the assistant something was wrong, her response was a casual, “oh yeah, that’s a side effect,” with no concern and no attempt to help manage what was, from a patient’s perspective, a very distressing experience. It only got worse when the dentist returned. I showed him my shaking hands and explained how intense the symptoms felt. His response was an eye roll and a dismissive comment that it would “pass eventually.” When I pointed out that patients should be informed ahead of time, he replied, “if you want to hear every possible outcome, we’d be here for hours.” That kind of attitude is not just unprofessional—it’s unacceptable in a healthcare setting. At no point did he attempt to reassure me, check on my well-being, or show any empathy. Even after a reluctant apology (only after being directly confronted), the focus seemed to be on moving past the situation rather than actually addressing it. After the procedure, there was still no effort to check if I was feeling better or to acknowledge what had just happened. He quickly delivered post-procedure instructions and left. The assistant then escorted me out, discussed payment with the front desk, and walked away without saying a word to me. I understand that side effects can happen. What’s inexcusable is the complete lack of communication, empathy, and basic human decency throughout the entire experience. Patients deserve to feel informed, respected, and cared for—not dismissed and left to deal with frightening symptoms on their own. If bedside manner, communication, and patient care matter to you, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Positive experience: Great dentist, nice office, friendly staff. After giving them business for about 15 years, they charged me $75.00 for missing my appointment. I guess that’s their prerogative.

Negative experience: Mr Brinkerhoff comes off as a very nice, fun cool dentist. At first, Then the bills start going up. I am very tolerant, pain discomfort or even visual appearance do not bother me. So I let some things go, even let some billing issues go. My bad. Now I am stuck missing 4 teeth with two implants that do not have teeth. He broke a tooth during the process and the flipper "temporary denture" does not fit or work... I understand insurance. That is part of my job. He nor his staff do, and they do not care to learn. you will see this as you walk in the door and see the sign.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! I changed dentists in order to find one closer to my home. Bountiful dental care was covered by my insurance, so I gave it a try. My first visit was wonderful. The front desk, staff, my dental hygienist, and Dr. Brinkerhoff were all amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions in depth and allowed plenty of time for my appt. Dr. Brinkerhoff showed me the x-rays and photos of my teeth as he talked about them so that I could see exactly what he was talking about. I am so glad I gave Bountiful Dental Care a try, and I am excited to continue going back!

Fantastic experience: The staff here is amazing! Best dentist ever! They did a great job making my 18 month old feel super comfortable. I thought he would cry the whole time, but Dr. B and his staff took the time to introduce him to everything. My husband and I have seen Dr. B for years now. He does great work and really pays attention to detail. He also lets you know what would be best for your mouth, but doesn't pressure you. We have also seen all of the hygienists here and no matter who cleans your teeth, you will leave feeling amazing. They are also so good at educating you on what you need and what is best for you. This office is an 11/10.

If he moved his practice out of the Bountiful area, I would not hesitate to continue my Dental Care with Dr. Brinkerhoff & staff. He is contemplative in his dental care decisions. He always includes me in the discussion of best procedures moving forward with dental work needing to be done. I appreciate being part of my dental plan and he has always afforded that to me. Sydni, has always been my Hygienist and without a doubt the most thorough and knowledgeable hygienist. She is very good at dental hygiene encouragement and I always leave her office feeling good about myself and given specific ways I can improve in my dental hygiene. Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and Dr. Brinkerhoff has been great up until now. His front office staff and scheduling practices could use some work. I had a filling come out and Diane was dismissive - almost to the point of being rude. She told me it wasn’t an emergency, and scheduled me to come in almost 3 weeks from now. After doing research, a filling coming out needs to be addressed ASAP and I should be seen within a week at the most! This is on top of having a painful tooth for months, and when the dentist (Dr. Farr at the time) advised that it needs a root canal after my 2nd visit for the issue, they scheduled me 2 months out for it! I also had the longest, most uncomfortable root canal of my life a few months ago with all of the interruptions going on during it. The individualized care is lacking since the office has grown. I’m now looking for a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: Me and my family have been going to Bountiful dental care for 15 years. My daughter is going to school in Rhode Island, she books flights home to see Dr. B instead of going to someone local. That’s how good they are! We started going there because Dr. Brinkerhoff was SO good at giving shots that I hardly felt the needle go in. We’ve continued with them because Dr. B and the people there are all so nice and friendly. I can’t imagine having a job that is so gross but they act like it’s no big deal and treat you so kind and with respect. Me and my family will continue to have Bountiful dental care as our dentist for ever.
