Fantastic experience: As a new patient of Ponemah Crossing Dentistry I would like to compliment the warm friendly staff. I feel comfortable and well taken care of every time I enter the office and that is important to me.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been really happy with the changes under new ownership. The staff is friendly, the office feels welcoming, and the new doctor explains everything so well. I also had my first cleaning with an ultrasonic device. It made my cleaning so much more comfortable than what I am used to with the traditional hand scraping. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely stick with them. Highly recommend!!!

Negative experience: All the staff and dentists who made this office's great reputation are no longer working there, having been replaced by the new owners. If you are looking for people you have been seeing for a decade, they're simply gone-- all of them -- and the current staff will smile and say they found new opportunities. Shame.

Negative experience: The hygienist I had was very uncompromising. No bedside manners. Impatient with me when I was having films done. The staff with Dr Leighton were wonderful. I don't like the new people.

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit to a dentist in an an embarrassingly long time today at Ponemah Crossing Dentistry. The staff made me feel very comfortable, with no hint of shaming me for years of neglecting professional oral hygiene help. After full mouth X-rays and digital photos, Dr. B came in and went over every aspect of what he saw, showing me photos of my teeth as he explained. He suggested a very logical process that will occur over a series of visits, from descaling, periodontal exam, and repair of three broken teeth. I was provided with an estimate for the work that came in at the low end of the cost range that I surmised. All my questions, concerns and fears were respectfully and thoroughly addressed. The office is spacious, well lit, clean as can be, and the atmosphere is professional yet friendly. I am very pleased to find this office and to go forward with restoring and maintaining my oral health. If you are looking for a new dentist, don't hesitate to give these folks a try.

Negative experience: After nearly 25 years as a patient, I’m very disappointed with the recent changes at this practice. As of April 2026, Dr. Leighton and the entire longtime staff, including the hygienists, are gone, and the office is now under new ownership with a completely different approach. The difference in care is significant. Cleanings that were once thorough, unhurried, and done by hand over the course of an hour have been replaced with quick Cavitron-only cleanings that take just minutes. For patients with sensitive teeth or minimal buildup, this feels less comfortable and far less personalized. This practice used to stand out for its attention to detail and patient care. Unfortunately, that level of care is no longer there. Because of these changes, I’ve decided to switch to a different dental practice after many years of loyalty.

As the director of a small private school, I referred many of my students’ families to this dental practice and they remained there as their children matured. Dr. Leighton is very skilled (the entire practice is very skilled and competent) and I would go to no other dentist!

Not only did I receive an excellent fitting crown that looks and feels amazing, he and his staff were extremely caring and genuinely concerned with my comfort and wellbeing through the entire process! It’s great to know my dental health is in great hands with Dr. Bashir and his wonderful staff!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Leighton and his staff are just the best!! We arrived in a transport chair for my 97-year-old mother. Someone came out and assisted with the door and offered water and coffee. The ladies at the heart of the main desk are super friendly, always smiling, and helpful. Georgette is a friendly presence who made my mother feel so welcomed and at ease. And Dr. Leighton is the most kind-hearted, caring dentist. My mother has been with this office for 40+ years, and these are just a few reasons why!

Fantastic experience: I recently broke my tooth on a Friday evening. I called the office after hours. They offered emergency services, which I did not require since I was not in pain. The office contacted me first thing Monday morning. Dr. Leighton was able to see me within a couple of hours. It turned out to be a crown that needed to replaced. Dr. Leighton made the repair and was done in no time and no pain! The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. I am very at ease in their care.

New tooth is perfect. A well run practice that cares about the patients. Kind and capable staff. You can see the same dentist and hygienist each time you go for cleanings, which is really nice.

Laurianne is so caring and thoughtful...I have a bit of sensitivity to cold, so when she squirted water in my mouth I told her it was cold. She got up, got me a cup of warm water to rinse my mouth with for the remainder of my cleaning!!! She is awesome!

I feel lucky to be cared for by a small community-minded private practice rather than an office that answers to a corporate chain. My impression is that big chains tend to put profit above their clients. There has been relatively little turnover of staff and hygienists at Ponemah over the years, so they must appreciate working there.
