Positive experience: Loved this last visit all went welland ended with clean teeth and no cavities. The tech and doc were very informative and professional.

Negative experience: do not use this company. I am on Medicaid and they still tried to bill me a full 192 The billing company is horrible. I had to contact them multiple times over this. Tell them that they were trying to charge a while on Medicaid, which you're not allowed to do then they told me everything was complete and and then they ended up still putting me into their credit debt collection. I do not I do not suggest using them. They're horrible very hard to work with you. Cannot talk to anybody. I finally got this results, but I'm still not happy and I hope to never hear from them again, and if anybody reads us find someplace else I just thought I'd share my story with what I had to deal with

Fantastic experience: I called Sutton dental because I had a dental emergency. My molar broke at 6 at night. I made an appointment online and they contacted me right away. They got me in the next day. The staff was great and the doctor was very friendly. I have bad dental anxiety and the dentist was kind, patient and explained what she was doing. I plan to use them as my regular dentist and honestly couldn’t be happier that I found them.

Negative experience: How could this be acceptable by anybody? I visited for the first time Sutton Dental of waterbury back in May of this year. I've been experiencing tooth pain for a couple of weeks and needed an extraction. They gave me an appointment to come back which is understandable, I was a walk-in at the at time. They took X-rays to confirm what we already knew, I needed to extract the tooth. I gave them a pain scale of 10 which is the max, making sure they understood I was in a lot of pain. Here I'm thinking they will do it on the spot, I was told the oral surgeon will not be available until mid June. I'm thinking 6 more weeks of pain, but then the dentist mentioned they can refer me to another Dentist if I didn't want to wait. I was told to call back for the referral. I agreed however I asked if there a chance to schedule me sooner in the event of a no show. They accepted. When I called for the referral, I was told they don't give referrals and they were unsure who told me that. Confused I asked again about being seen in the vent someone does not show and they again agreed. A couple of weeks went by and finally I got a call from them, but it was not the call I expected, they called to tell me my insurance is no longer valid. No follow up, no call backs with options. Never heard from them again! This came a week before I was finally going to see the surgeon! Luckily I was able to find temporary pain relief during this time however it came at a cost. Worst dental experience of my life. If I could give them a zero for being unorganized I will! STAY AWAY!

When I asked my grandson if he'd consider visiting the dentist again, he replied, 'I only go to my dentist,' meant Sudden Dental which speaks volumes about the trust he's developed. Negative experience: I would give no stars if it qas possible. The most unprofessional office i have ever dealt with. My child has had her braces on over 2 years longer than needed due to the constant rescheduling, Dr emergency, water pipe breaks, machines not working or whatever else. We have been denied at the door due to machines being down when a simple call to reschedule could have happened. We have shown up for appointments and the office is just randomly closed without a call. I have had my appointments changed and rescheduled on me without permission or a phone call to let me know. My poor child has had braces on far longer than she needed them and has been told for the last 6 months she would get debanded and every single time her appointment gets close they reschedule or some how the xray (which was being used at that exact time) wasn't working. Extremely unprofessional. Would absolutely never recommend.

I’m usually nervous about going to the dentist, but Ellen made me feel so comfortable and at ease. She explained everything clearly and kept me informed the whole time. Fantastic experience: I had suche grate experienc at sutton dental braces. I met Carmen ortho treatment coordinator. Stuff was so welcomeand mead me feel comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend it this office do anyone is looking for a care.

Negative experience: My experience at this dental office has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. They completely mishandled my braces aftercare, and when I tried to explain my concerns, I felt ignored. After my braces were removed, I was given retainers/Invisalign that were cut too short and caused significant pain and irritation to my gums. I reported this multiple times, but my concerns were not taken seriously. It wasn’t until a later cleaning that another dentist noticed how sore my gums were. She advised me to stop wearing them and said she would schedule me for properly fitting replacements but that appointment never happened. As a result, my teeth have shifted significantly. When I went back to address this with the orthodontist, he blamed me instead of listening. First, he said it was because I didn’t wear my retainers. Then he claimed it was due to the size of my teeth, and later even blamed my tongue. Every time I tried to explain what actually happened, he interrupted me and didn’t allow me to speak. At one point, he even asked another dentist to explain things to me while I was still trying to respond. When he got up and walked out, I said “have a nice day,” and he continued walking without acknowledging me, which I found very unprofessional and dismissive. His only solution was to push my front teeth together and fill the remaining gaps with artificial teeth, which I was not comfortable with.If you are new to the Waterbury area and looking for a dental office like I was, I would strongly recommend choosing carefully. Based on my experience, this office is disorganized and does not provide the level of care or accountability needed for long-term dental treatment.

Negative experience: First they make loose a day of work second they had attitude with one another and second there computer got lock for to many attempt and could not get X-ray second told me not the doctor an assistance that I could not get partial or they even would not even consider sending to insurance for approval no communication upon my arrival and made me waste my morning.

Negative experience: I called to help a patient obtain their X-rays this afternoon the lady who answered was SO RUDE and disrespectful! Terrible patient care and service! A receptionist set the standard & tone for a office. I highly recommend reviewing the call! I accidentally posted the review under the Hartford location, but it was the Waterbury location I called

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment and, upon arrival, completed all required paperwork. After submitting it, the receptionist informed me that the dentist was running behind and could not provide an estimated wait time. I agreed to wait. Approximately ten minutes later, I was called back to the desk and asked to provide my primary insurance information, despite already presenting both my primary and dental insurance cards at check-in. The receptionist then incorrectly stated that my BCBS coverage was not my primary insurance. To resolve the confusion, I contacted my insurance carrier directly so they could clarify this with her. During this interaction, the receptionist became visibly dismissive and mentioned that she was scheduled to leave at 5:00 PM, implying she could not complete the necessary updates in the system. As a result, I had no choice but to reschedule my appointment. When I returned for the rescheduled appointment, I was told that my appointment had been canceled. When I questioned this—since I was physically present—I was simply told, “Well, it’s canceled.” The receptionist then asked if I had contacted the billing department to update my insurance, which I had already done prior to returning. Overall, this experience was frustrating and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service. I would strongly recommend additional training for front desk staff to ensure patients are treated with respect and that administrative processes are handled accurately and efficiently.

Negative experience: Horrible dental place in they will have u waiting forever I kid you not I was waiting for over an hour

Negative experience: Every appointment I've ever had here, I've been stuck waiting forever to even be seen. Today was no different and the appointment was for my 3 year old. We waited in the waiting room for about 45 minutes and then were brought into a room where she was told to sit down and a dentist would be in shortly. There was another woman waiting who said her appointment was scheduled for 30 minutes before ours and she still hadnt been seen. 15/20 minutes go by and we still hadn't been seen so I asked someone working how long it would be and all she said was that there were still people in front of us, did not give me a time frame or anything and At this point my baby and my toddler were absolutely restless and I could not wait any longer. They did not apologize or try to make it right at all so we just left.

Negative experience: I am happy my father bring me to the dentist. He not just my father but he is my lawyer to and he looks after me and he has the power of attorney over me. That's why he comes with me to the doctors. For know own he Sign. My papers it's know need for that lady to come out and say I can sign it my self

Fantastic experience: I had my braces done there and Dr. C is great. Recently went back for retainers and Carmen had Dr. C review my records he and Carmen explained why it wasn't necessary in my case. The staff and Dr. C are amazing love Sutton Dental & Braces.

Negative experience: Let me start off by saying if I could give 0 stars I would. I had a very frustrating experience with this dental office. During my first visit in February, they probed my gums which I understand is part of the procedure, but it was extremely painful, but I assumed it was procedure and maybe it was my gums that was sensitive UNTIL at one point another doctor came in and the two of them started whispering behind me without explaining anything about what they were seeing or what was going on. I was left feeling confused and uncomfortable because no one communicated what condition my mouth was in or what treatment I needed. At one point something happened with another patient, and they literally left me lying in the chair without saying anything. About five minutes later someone else came in just to tell me I was finished. I never received any clear explanation from the actual dentist about my results or next steps. Later they told me I needed a deep cleaning, which I agreed to because I assumed it was necessary and I was genuinely interested in getting my dental health on track. The worst part happened on the day of my deep cleaning appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 AM on March 6, 2026. At 8:11 AM, while I was already on my way and almost there, I called just to let them know I would be arriving right at 8:30. That’s when they casually told me my appointment had been canceled. I never canceled it, and no one from the office called or messaged me to let me know. After all of that, they already reschedule me all the way in August. If I truly needed a deep cleaning for my dental health, waiting months makes absolutely no sense. The lack of communication, professionalism, and concern for patients’ time and health is extremely disappointing. I left feeling like my care was not taken seriously at all.

Negative experience: The receptionist is very uninviting. You go to take care of your oral health and you get treated like your a bother. I will take my needs else where. One day they saw my kid and was going to work on her the next she said she couldn't get seen unless all insurance cards were present..keep in mind this was a week ago..then she scheduled me on a Saturday and they dont see adults on Saturday so why schedule me..this was another wasted day ..Now I go today and she wants the insurance cards that are already on file..she is telling me my insurance carrier info yet she wants the cards to verify...poor customer service..I'm disgusted.

Fantastic experience: The dentist was super nice and helped with two teeth when I had only hopes of getting one taken care of! They also did this same day, and we're willing to help with a tooth that all the other places wanted to pull. They also fixed my front tooth chip and matched the color perfectly!

Negative experience: This place is scammed me because of my insurance, they only want to see you if they can make money off you. They will take all the X-rays they can so they hit the limit and then refer you to somewhere else. When you go somewhere else your limit has been hit for the year so you have to wait until it resets the next year. I had this happen to me somewhere else and when I explained it to them they said they were aware of this type of thing and assured me they would not do that to me and they would help. They must have forgotten because when I had my second visit they did exactly that. There office manager was also extremely rude and literally yelled at me for sitting in the wrong chair. They also tried to cancel the appointment but I didn't realize it because my phone had been shut off and I heard about that happening in other reviews. I would have just liked the truth. I might seek legal advice or find another route but people should be aware that they are not ethical.

Negative experience: Waited 30 minutes in waiting area then another 30 in the dentist chair still waiting while I’m waiting another patient comes out and reschedule because she’s been waiting for over a hour and has kids to pick up from school so unless you have two hours to waist don’t book here

Negative experience: Literally a horrible experience would not even recommend. I usually go to the new Britain location there I love them they are so sweet. Sadly for my wisdoms teeth removal I had to go to the Waterbury one and I wish I never had Went had to wait two hours because they were running behind for some reason then on top of that the doctor was yelling at me and showing no compassion just because I started to have an anxiety and panic attack. I was told I would be put to sleep not have local anesthetic so I started to freak. He was very rough the ends of my lips are bruised and cut just over all bad would never ever go back.

Carmen Colon the ortho treatment coordination is very good at her job. she overall made whole the experience very enjoyable. She is very down to earth and knows how to explain medical terminology in a simple way that anyone will understand and will have you leaving being much more knowledgeable about your teeth. If you go and see her you’ll be in good hands.

Fantastic experience: Great experience overall. On-site x-rays. Knowledgeable orthodontists. Painless braces application. Good payment plan. My jaw was so badly shifted due to a class III malocclusion that I was in constant pain and discomfort. Already starting to feel better bc of the turbos that were applied to the molars-meanwhile, the braces will align my teeth Update: went in for a follow up. Had thicker wire installed. As always staff was friendly and professional. The work was done pretty painlessly and quickly. The dentists and orthodontists here definitely care about their patients and the quality of work they provide (I'm unsure of the older male orthodontist who's been advising on and helping with the work but Peter whose name I did catch as well as the technician? Or orthodontist? Who applied the new wire have been great as well. Thanks

Positive experience: I’ve been coming here with my daughter for years. I think it’s time for a change. I was waiting too long, only one doctor and then for some reason other kids were being seen by Doctor before, when they arrived after us. It wasn’t an emergency since they were just examined for regular cleanings. The place needs an update for sure. Not very clean especially bathroom. That says a lot about a medical office.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment for Saturday, and when I arrived they tell me they had to cancel my appt because they do not see adults on the weekends. I gave my insurance information and scheduled for Monday. I arrived today and the receptionist had me sitting there for 1 hr because they had to “verify my insurance” then she asked me if I can come back on at 1 like if I have all their time. Aside from her telling me I can’t be seeing in a private room because those are for treatments only. So you have to sit in a big opened room with everyone else listening to your business in this place. I wont schedule here anymore they are very unprofessional!

Negative experience: DON’T GO HERE! I had appointments SCHEDULED for all three of my children. I got a missed call to confirm my appointment (automated call from BRIDGEPORT) one day before, they cancelled all 3 appointments because I didn’t answer and press one to confirm. I left work 4 hours early because they could only see my youngest at 2 the latest. And I drove a half hour for the appointment just to be told they were all cancelled. Me making the appointment should be enough that I will be there with my THREE children. I ask for my gas and missed hours as work to be reimbursed to me. The patients that were scheduled over my children were being called in to be seen. Absolutely unprofessional, unethical practice I’ve ever been to! The GIRL at the front desk was so not understanding not helpful with a puss on her face. No wonder this practice has been 5 other practices prior…. I will be making many complaints do everyone I can on how unethical this practice is. Now I transferred out because I refuse to be treated like just another family on husky. I have to have my kids seen somewhere else now. If their situation gets worse because of this I will purse legal. DO NOT GO TO SUTTON DENTAL THEY ARE NOT WORTHY OR ETHICAL!!!!

Negative experience: While Practitioners were nice and professional, however one of the front desk staff wasn't. I find her to be quite rude since she was talking about me as if I wasn't even there. Overall I WON'T be going back there ,and it's mainly for the fact that there's NO privacy. Like no private patient rooms,just an open hall way ,where anyone can just look in anyone's mouth, and like in my case where the dr was asking me abt my medical history and medications, it was in the presence of other patients.

This place canceled on me twice before my first ever appointment then the day of my appointment they had me waiting for 45 minutes just so I can ask what's going and for the front desk lady who was very unhelpful and lack of communication skills to tell me my insurance ain't active like your not going to tell me that and just have me wait 45 minutes pass3d my appointment . Fantastic experience: I went to Sutton Dental on Wolcott Street, waterbury, CT because I my left cheek was slightly swollen and I had some discomfort. I was nervous since it was my first visit to this office and my last dentist visit was not a very pleasant one to say the least. But this visit at Sutton Dental was the opposite of my last one. First, I was pleasantly greeted by Danielle at the front desk. I told her I did not have my insurance sorted out as yet. She instantly smiled and said no problem we have this program for people with no insurance I'm going to sign you up. This is the cost - are you okay with it? I was more than okay with the little cost! Next, I was called by Felicia! From the time she called me she asked me how I was feeling. I felt so much less nervous and so at ease with Felicia! She told me she has to take an x ray so the dentist can assess my situation. She actually asked me to let her know if the process was too painful! All the while she was smiling - i hardly felt any discomfort during the xray. Next Dr. Bermudez came to talk to me and discuss my situation. She gently and calmly went into detail about my condition and her recommendations. Even the staff who didn't deal with me directly smiled and said hello. I wish I could give Sutton Dental 10 stars instead of 5! I have finally found my regular Dental clinic!

Fantastic experience: One of the benefits of choosing a larger practice is the availability of emergency appointments. I called at 4pm on Wednesday and was seen at 8am on Thursday. The staff, as always is professional, competent and compassionate.
