Negative experience: Rude dentist and felt pressured to do review. Was told to scan QR code and to give review but dentist was standing over shoulder. Will not return. Highly recommend looking elsewhere (Editing to respond to Akel dental) If you felt that way your dentist wouldn’t have stood over shoulder saying to put 5 stars and to leave a good one. Fishing for reviews is gross and shows you can’t provide good service without pressuring people into reviews

Fantastic experience: Everyone here was so professional and amazing. They took care of my mom so well she loved it even thought she was nervous before. They calmed her down and worked with her. Highly recommend. The front desk is amazing Carla made the whole process amazing. Sarah the tech was awesome as well.

Negative experience: Worse place ever I bought a partial from them and it never fit my new dentist says once it's wrong it's wrong they will not refund my money I a would not care but my dental i insurance will not lar me get another one there only good for 5 years so not only did they make me keep coming back in for a fitting that would never fit correctly they will not refund my money stay tuned !!!!so im keeping u guys up to date they owe my dental insurance 500 and me 500 and yet they are refusing to compensate me for the terrible work they have done this experience has been emotionally draining I've tried everything to make this partial work in my mouth I spent tons of money on adhesives to make it work and yet they can't accept that they owe me this money and will not refund it to me I'll keep you guys informed and I can turn you into a way better dentist in Spring Hill Florida still have heard nothing it's so sad that a dental office has to steal money from me and old person that doesn't make alot of money I just want what I paid down on a partial that I can't use next post I will show u picture of it it's horrible today is 5/21/2026 now the upper partial they made now broke I had to go find another dentist and it cost me another $500 so I paid $1,000 now I have to have more dental work done I wouldn't send my worst enemy to ajel dental dental they are the worst harassing you I can show u a picture of my broken upper partial you wouldn't even fix the bottom one that you had me keep coming back for over and over and over again you know and I know what you guys do is wrong

Fantastic experience: Dr.Akel is a wonderful Dentist, was there this morning with an issue with an extraction that from a place where they did extractions, there was a piece of tooth lodged in my gum, he removed a piece of tooth lodged in my gum. The whole office is great. Dianne Gedon.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dental office during my son’s appointment. Our scheduled appointment time was 2:00 PM, and by 3:20 PM we still had not been seen. Throughout that entire time, I received no updates or explanations about the delay. What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism at the front desk. Instead of communicating with waiting patients, the staff appeared more focused on discussing their Friday night plans. As a parent, my time and my child’s care should be treated with respect. After waiting over an hour with no communication, I ultimately decided to leave. I do not feel this office values patient time or provides the level of professionalism expected in a healthcare setting.

Negative experience: My husband and I have been seeing Dr Akel for 2 years now and are switching dentists. I have been there for 4 cleanings, my initial cleaning was very thorough, however my last two cleanings lasted 20 minutes from me walking in the door to leaving. The cleaning was not thorough at all and I have not seen Dr Akel the last 3 cleanings I had. My husband only went to Dr Akel once and said he was never going back. He is arrogant and stated my husband needed a root canal. My husband recently went to another dentist and they were able to do just a filling on the tooth, not a root canal, and saved us thousands of dollars. Dr Akel also filled a cavity my first visit seeing them and he slipped and drilled a hole into my tongue that was very painful and took a while to heal. When I called the office to tell them I am switching dentists, they did not ask why and were VERY rude when I asked them to send my records to my new dentist. I would choose another dentist than Dr Akel.

Negative experience: You don’t get to go back with your child, don’t have any idea what their doing until it’s done, rough with the flossing until I checked them on it and gave me attitude when I did. My son needed fill ins so I hesitantly approved and signed for it and when my son came out he looked distraught… he told me that he had no idea what was going on, and that a bunch of people came in the room, stuck a needle in his gums and started drilling… left him feeling helpless cause they didn’t tell him ANYTHING THAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN TO HIM! didn’t prepare him for it, nothing! You wouldn’t do that to an adult, why would you do that to a child? I don’t know how you would feel as a parent but that hurt me like hell and that is why parents should be with their children in situations like that. The front desk assistant handed me a referral and I asked what is this and she said it’s a referral for your daughter.. I had to ask twice for what, cause no one explained anything to me about why it was needed. It’s for tooth A… I said ok.. sooo… then I just said forget it.. it was that moment I knew I was done forever with these people. No kind of customer service skills, family values or support , nothing. I walked out cause I felt my blood boiling. Save yourself the trouble or don’t.. this was my experience and it sucked.

Negative experience: Beware of their double dipping, trying to do unneeded work and lying! This was my son’s dentist for years until ai brought him in when he fell and broke one of his front teeth in half. I took him in and not only did he need one crown but he needed 3, one was for cosmetic purposes they said. My out of pocket after insurance would be $1200. Called the insurance company and they said his crowns are covered at 100%. Called the office and asked them to do a pre-authorization, received a call back the dentist is no longer doing crowns on minors. Went to Keystone Excellence where they already knew his crowns were covered at 100% and he only needed 1 crown! Akel Dental called me this morning to schedule his 3 crowns that they supposedly no longer do for minors.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this office at all. We had to wait in the waiting room like 30 minutes. My husband went back to office to have his teeth cleaned. They took exams. His told them that all he wanted was what the insurance covered. They kept telling him he needed this and that. We have been here 1 and half hours and his teeth are still not done. 3 other people that came in after us have been seen and gone. So very disappointed

Negative experience: Took my son back for X-rays and they told me to wait sat and sat asked what was going on. I was told that they were cleaning my son’s teeth. I never gave permission for them to do that. Would not let me be with my son in the room. Then had the nerve to come out he has 3 teeth that need to be filled not going over anything with me. Not showing me his X-rays at all. My son has disability with severe anxiety and to sit there and not even let me be with my kid. Did not tell them to clean my son’s teeth. Lied to saying they would come get me after his X-rays. BEWARE DONT TAKE YOUR KID THERE PLEASE. I let me insurance know about all of it as well. Maybe next get a attorney

I have a lot of anxiety problems and numbing can be an issue for me, but he has always been patient and calm which makes me feel so much more comfortable. I cannot recommend Dr. Akel enough. The office is always clean and the staff is always super nice to me every time I come in for an appointment. I look forward to using this dentist for all of my dental needs for years to come!

Negative experience: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! IF YOU MISS AN APPOINTMENT FOR ANY REASON THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $500. I HAD A 2:00 FIRST TIME APPOINTMENT AND GOT THERE AT 1:45. AT 2:15 I ASKED WHEN I WOULD BE SEEN AND WAS TOLD AN ADDITIONAL 30-45 MINUTES. SORRY BUT MY TIME IS AS VALUABLE AS THE DOCTOR'S AND I DON'T GET TO CHARGE FOR MY WASTED TIME. I LEFT AND FOUND ANOTHER DENTIST. JUST READ OTHER PEOPLES REVIEWS AND THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. EVEN THEIR RESPONSES TO REVIEWS ARE RUDE AND INSULTING. Fantastic experience: I switched to Akel Dental because I have Medicare insurance now, and I would have to pay if I continued with my old dentist. The service at Akel was extraordinary. Negative experience: Didn’t have a great experience here. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful with any questions. The waiting room was nice and clean. I just turned 18 and came here for the first time and had my mother come along with me to help with paperwork. When the hygienist brought me to the back for x-rays and a cleaning, she was very unkind from start to finish. She used the same gloves to text on her phone and clean my teeth, and the tools either need to be replaced or need to be cleaned because there was visible stains. I chipped a filling a month before coming in, and had a cavity to be filled that i was NOT told about. They went to the waiting room where my mom was waiting for me, and told her they were doing a filling, and at this point i still did not have any one tell me this and i could only overhear their conversations. I was already feeling uncomfortable from the previous incidents and the hygienist wasn’t easy when scraping and brushing my teeth and told me all my teeth are going to fall out after she was scraping my gums and said they were bleeding. When they came in and said “open up” i asked what they were doing. They said “your fillings” and i told them no and they said “your mother said you are doing it, so you will” i refused and left, and when i asked my mom if they asked her about doing a filling, she said “no, they TOLD me they were doing it, and said they already asked you”. There was bad communication on their part after knowing and confirming i was 18 and didn’t need my mothers consent, let alone they didn’t ask for either of our’s.

Negative experience: Worst cleaning, felt super rushed. On top of that very poor hygienist/doctor to patient communication. I wasn’t made aware that I had cavities until I was presented with a $300 bill for fillings by the receptionist.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean office and the hygienists were very friendly and knowledgeable. Great staff and never have to wait too long! They were accommodating when I brought my toddler with me as well. Very nice place I will be returning

Fantastic experience: Great dentistry and great people Dr. Akel saved a tooth I thought was beyond saving and got me in within a week of my first phonecall, offered to complete all dental work he could within the same day. The staff are all very sweet and scheduler has been very accommodating of my weird work hours, all while still getting me in within a week. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: This past week, both myself and my husband have seen Dr. Akel at the Spring Hill location for our dental checkups/ cleaning and fillings. I also had a tooth abscess which first had to be treated with antibiotics, and due to extreme facial swelling I had to wait an extra few days before the tooth could be extracted. Yesterday, the tooth was extracted by Dr. Akel and it went smoother than I could ever imagine. His staff, especially Luis who performed a deep cleaning on my teeth as well as my husband’s was great. He was gentle and very skilled. Dr. Akel’s staff, nurses and front personnel were very friendly and accommodating. I can’t thank them enough for treating us so well. Fantastic experience: What can I say about this dentist besides they are very professional and friendly, they helped me when I needed a crown and helped me when it came off since it was a temporary crown. They took very good care of my teeth and now my teeth looks great, they were very gentle with me as I am worried about it hurting, it never hurts when they work on my teeth since they always ask if I am comfortable enough to continue. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends since they have taken care of me when I want to take care of my teeth

Negative experience: When in for a sore tooth on the front of my mouth and ended up with them grinding down two of my back teeth. Also they are charging $400 more dollars for putting a gel in my mouth to keep me from bleeding that is not covered by my insurance. Be careful when you're signing any paperwork

Dr. Akel is super informative, extremely knowledgeable, and I’m always impressed with his work. I unfortunately had to have extensive dental work done to my teeth doing crowns and bridges before I turned 21, I’m 31 now, and everything is still beautiful, and everything we continue to do is beautiful.
